Side-note, I wish Sebastien Loeb had made it to F1. It would have been pretty cool to see what a multiple WRC champion could have done in a F1 car.

skyv_99

I don't know what he could've done but crofty would've mentioned his "world class rally skills" every fucking time his tires slid a bit

SajuukToBear

Imagine the reaction if he somehow slid around the Monaco hairpin…

Potential-Brain7735

Back when Loeb did WTCC, there’s a clip of 3 Citroens going around the Macau hairpin. The first two were driven by Loeb’s teammates (Muller and Lopez), and they take the regular grip racing line. Loeb arrives in the 3rd Citroen, and pulls the handbrake to whip it around the hairpin. Old habits die hard I guess.

hugglesthemerciless

Do you have a link to a clip of this?

Potential-Brain7735

I tried finding it on YouTube, but couldn’t track it down. Iirc, it was from a practice session, around 2013, 2014, 2015 ish.

GeorgeLopezTheGreat

I found [this...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSo_-7-UsO0)

Enzee24

God damn that slide around what appears to be Rascasse

nevillelin

Like [this?](https://youtu.be/yDqcKc3G53E)

AsianBond

"The wily old world-class rallier showing all of his years of experience!"

unemotional_mess

Or "Here come Sebastien Loeb!"

InappropriateJokeTim

Would be interesting. He did pretty well in the world touring car championship. Knows his way around asphalt.

GTOdriver04

That’s what makes Surtees’ achievement so legendary: man won what was then the MotoGP title then the F1 title. It would be like Rossi coming over and winning the F1 title today. Absolute legend.

ppSmok

Reminds me of the time when Rossi almost signed an F1 contract.

dilligaf0220

>It would be like Rossi coming over and winning the F1 title today. Absolute legend. More likely to be the other way today. Michael Schumacher rode bikes after his 2nd retirement and was stupid quick. Gave it up when his wife told him it was too dangerous. I could see a 44yr old Alonso trying the Isle Of Man.

Leone_0

>I could see a 44yr old Alonso trying the Isle Of Man. I don't think you realize how difficult this race is. Alonso would be like 6 minutes off the pace... Even professional riders take at least 2 or 3 years to get comfortable with the track.

LaSalsiccione

And they chance of them dying in the process is remarkably high.

dilligaf0220

Indy 500, he was trying to win. Isle Of Man, he'd be happy surviving with a Silver Medallion. But just doing it, and doing it legit...

sdmyzz

Schumacher raced motorbikes at the club level, wasn't THAT good.

Blooder91

And MotoGP was really dangerous. F1 drivers used to say "we are all a little crazy, but Surtees is insane".

ocelotrevs

Same and same. I'd have love to have seen Rossi in a proper F1 session as well. Both Loeb and Rossi were said to have been impressive during their run outs in a F1 car.

throwaway44624

You may already be aware, but Rossi tested a bunch with Ferrari from 2004-10 and was closest to landing a seat in 2006-7ish. His pace was genuinely respectable - a few tenths off schumi at times. Luca di Montezemolo said if they could’ve run a third car, VR would have been in it

Skeeter1020

I consider Loeb to be the all time GOAT. He has won in every category of racing he's ever competed in.

whateverfloatsurgoat

Didn't win in Dakar, Rally-Raid or Le Mans. I'd say Ickx is the all time great. Even won in Motocross when he was a teenager lmao.

robgod50

It's ok. We've got Max. (I'm not a fan but boy can he handle that car)

tolofanclub

Alonso took second place in a stage of the Dakar Rally. I know it's not the WRC but still very impressive.

Independent-Ask7750

Sebastian’s in rallying are next level though. 17 out of the last 18 titles won by a Seb. Nearly 2 decades.

pzkenny

And that 1 title was when Ogier drove a shitty Citroën that broke down many times. And well this year both drives few events. First event of the year, Monte Carlo, was won by Loeb, followed by Ogier.

bigfellasax

Juan pablo montoyas son is named sebastian

OctagonClock

This would have been way funnier if you forgot the post body

CashedOutCars

I read just the title about 3 times before clicking on it, thought I was missing something 😂

ElementalSheep

There was also a Sebastien champion in Formula E if that counts for anything

LilBirdBrick

Same Sebastien that was winning Le Mans too.

stagfury

That one back then wasn't counted as a world championship, only last year started being one I think.

elgoblino42069

sebastian piquet-verstappen hamilton would be 2 tenths quicker

ElementalSheep

“Lewis jr, Sebastien is faster than you.”

pmcpaul412

Sebastian Piquet-Verstappen Alonso would be 6 tenths quicker, just saying.

ladyjinxy

Any of them have any affiliation with Red Bull?

Chaossy

Well the WRC's promoter company is co-owned by Red Bull, there is that lmao.

Southofsouth

Sebastian Montoya?

Saiyan_On_Psycedelic

Buemi and Vettell I think

gregdrou

Loeb and Ogier too

SpeedyWebDuck

Loeb, Ogier.

ZealousidealFox1391

Ogier and loeb

Saiyan_On_Psycedelic

Are you sure? I need a few more people to tell me.

ZealousidealFox1391

😂😂

gregdrou

All of them 💀

ZealousidealFox1391

Vettel, ogier, loeb, buemi

OldWiseMann

Well yeah since 2004 the WRC has only been one once by somebody not named Sébastien

ElementalSheep

The Finns are back this season now that the Sebastiens are gone

pzkenny

Tbf I don't think that even Sebs would be able to beat this year's Kalle.

gregdrou

Well it will be twice in a couple of months

Slappathebassmon

I think most of the "Sebastian's" are also associated with Red Bull at some point in their careers.

dl064

Slightly different spelling! Apparently at Toro Rosso 2008 they would differentiate them by calling one 'Der Seb' and the other 'le Seb'.

tjsr

Not too recently we have Sebastian Vettel, Sébastien Buemi and Sébastien Bourdais all racing for Red Bull at the same time. They also had another two Sebs in rally (Loeb and Ogier)

-Coffee-Owl-

hire a Finn named Sebastianus.

Chino_Kawaii

in the years 2010-20, there have been 11 F1 world championships every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes When you're on pole, everybody starts behind you If you can keep him behind we will Win

UmpireAJS

Sad Bourdais noises.

nocarpets

At one time Red Bull and Toro Rosso had like 3 or 4 drivers all named Sebastian. It was somewhere in the 2008-2011 era.

No-Zookeepergame9949

As Vettel once said, "Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb"........

SeanWT

If you want to win, put Sebs in

Haze95

You could try and work Sébastien Bourdais's four CART/Champ car titles into this

AnyHolesAGoal

Vettel doesn't have the acute accent on the e either.

InappropriateJokeTim

I’m expecting pedantic people to come along and try point out that these are two completely different names, that it’s an inaccurate stat and suck all the fun out of it
