Dorothea and Mercedes' scrapped C-Support
By - ClericKnight
...or I'll what the fear of God in you?
It's too short to be the 4 letter word I think would fit.
I thought pegging could only be done to men. Hopefully u/ClericKnight can confirm.
Pegging refers to using a strap on. It can be done by anyone to anyone. True equality.
It doesn't have to be up the bum either?
i would not recommend pegging into your sword of the creator
Only if you want it to be.
Women have bums
I wasn't disputing that, just clarifying the definition.
I like how this is now something you learned on the FE subreddit
Live by the peg, die by the peg.
Mercedes didn't look like it at first but she's by far the most savage character in Three Houses
It only makes sense. If you put a 23 year old in the same class as a bunch of high schoolers, and enforce that they're all equal, that 23 year old is gonna be a sardonic motherfucker to their "peers"
wait she's 23????
Yep. She's THE oldest student. She's nearly 30 after the timeskip. Even older than Byleth, who is 20.
Wait byleth is 20?
The age is hidden by Jeralt, but the game reveals it through certain events such as when Jeralt left with Byleth. Byleth is 20 at the start of the game and has a canon birthday too
November 20th I think it was
I think it's September 20th
(DLC Spoilers) If you check >!Jeralt and Sitri’s grave!< after doing the DLC, >!Sitri’s death date is listed, and we know she died in childbirth,!< so you can work out Byleth’s age.
Shes the oldest of the students by far lol
Not if you count Balthus
Hes technically an ex student not current but fair
Yea, she's closer in age to Catherine and Shamir than any of the students.
mfw some nun screams “excuse me” and tears the souls out of 30 elite mercenaries instantly
Agreed. Her supports with Sylvain are golden
The poor gets a lot of sass from her, but it's also probably his best relationship to begin with. Their A scene in particular is really really cute, even if by what I read the translation is kinda missing the point
What do you mean? Did they change something?
The TL;DR is [this](https://summonerruoste.tumblr.com/post/191002104308/translated-sylvain-and-mercedes-a-support-the).
Dunno how specifically this post is legit on the japanese direct translation (it wasn't the one I saw that made me learn of this issue), but the feeling was pretty much the same.
The concept of the scene was that Sylvain, for once, truly opens up and his facade cracks wide open. In the english translation, he seems to mantain his "persona" while admitting to Mercedes that she is right.
The original feels much more genuine to me, with him crying and being upset about being seen like that and being unable to keep up his usual behaviour.
Omg, while somewhat subtle, the translation make things a lot less... Personal? The original one warms my hearth
Did you see how she decimated Lorenz?
I hate him but damn I felt sorry for what Mercie did to him
What do you get when you cross a religious rivalry with sexual tension?
After much speculation about what kind of support these two would have, the conclusion I arrived at is "They would try to hook up while simultaneously tearing down each other's belief systems"
The whole concept of a catholic/atheist hate-fuck relationship is a galaxy brain idea, especially when applied to these two characters. Bravo, good sir.
As a Catholic with a father who has renounced all faith, a mother who was overly religious but had a VERY SPECIFIC type, and grew up in a home with very thin walls, I, and my therapist, can verify that statement.
Looks like yer mama ain't so Cath'lic after all >:D
Actually, she was Bapitst
I think her bedroom antics would probably piss them off too lol.
Most things about my mother anger most dieities.
THANK YOU, you get it too lol
It's one of those ideas you have and you just immediately go "holy shit I have to draw this"
Well considering that Female Byleth can have a gay relationship with not only the archbishop but the own goddess herself, I don’t think gay sex is a sin in this universe.
We actually don’t know what follows as a sin for this church other than betrayal which seems to be a big deal breaker for Rhea.
Teachings of the church
Literally anything else: ?
Don't forget >!telescopes and oil!< are also considered an affront to the Goddess according to the Abyss library.
Also printing and medicine!
reddot would be banned in 3houses world :\[
and nothing of value was lost
Pretty good argument for the Church tbh.
I’m following this church
[From Book of Seiros Part V in the library: ](https://fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/Library) "The goddess will never deny the splendors of love, affection...Follow her example"
I take that to mean they're fine with it
I've seen a lot of headcanons and fanfiction that run with the idea the Church and Fodlan's obsession with Crests lead to homosexual relationships being decidedly frowned upon though generally not explicitly illegal or a sin. I always liked this idea because I think it ties in pretty well with Adrestia, the country with the least Relics and connection to the Church, having a majority of the canon bi(leth)sexuals.
Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if homosexuality was only discouraged among crest-bearing nobility as a social pressure more than any explicit law or religious restriction given the importance of crests.
It would probably be like how it was in some places historically: you can be as gay as you want, but you still gotta have kids for blood heirs.
I also like this because it works with my headcanon of nobles pressuring Edelgard to marry and have kids and suppress these weird feelings she’s having about some girls she’s met, providing Edelgard with reason #417 for why the crests are the absolute worst.
I would assume the premarital part of the sex would be the bigger issue than the whole "both girls" part.
I don't think the church itself is against LGBTQIA+ folks in general, but I could see folks in charge of the smaller branches being against it due to local pressure from the nobles who would probably be against it due to LGBTQIA+ relationships most likely not being able to produce Crest bearing kids unless you either get a surrogate involved (which could complicate things politically if they try to stake their claim), or use magic to "temporarily bypass biology" so to speak to let the couple (probably WLW unless the "mother" is willing to keep using magic so things don't go sour) produce a kid.
Though a Bi couple / trio (assuming it's a 2 girls, 1 guy situation) probably won't have these issues nearly as bad save for some political posturing from their families.
Maybe it's like the other commandments of the church of Seiros? So instead of "gay sex is sin" it's "gay sex is sin, unless it is the will of the goddess."
The church never seemed homophobic only xenophobic
i mean the female pope can marry a woman so
~~Homosexuality appears to be a sin in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, which follows the church of Seiros as its official religion.~~ The Adrestrian Empire (which has tension with the church now, but was co-founded by Saint Seiros herself) does not appear to care who nobles bang, as long as they get around to producing a crest baby at some point. Which nation comes closest to following the church's decrees on this matter? I don't know. There's a book in the library that says that the goddess didn't make any rules against love or something? But I don't remember what it actually says.
I don't think Rhea personally disapproves of same-sex relationships.
EDIT: I was incorrect about the Faerghus thing. Honest mistake and I'm glad to be corrected if that means that my Kingdom students who get gay pairings don't have to sneak around.
> Homosexuality appears to be a sin in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus
where ingame does it imply this?
I've heard it's mentioned in Catherine's supports with Shamir. I've never actually gotten their highest support myself, so if I've been misinformed, I stand corrected.
>I don't think Rhea personally disapproves of same-sex relationships.
She can literally be in one, so... no, clearly not.
>Homosexuality appears to be a sin in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, which follows the church of Seiros as its official religion.
Where does this come from? Just because Ingrid is the straightest character in the whole cast and her dad tries to marry her off for money doesn't make Faerghus as a whole anti-homosexual. Hell, Catherine, Sylvain and Felix all have at least one very gay ending.
It just isn't, no.
You're right. I wonder what the other people I heard that from were on about. I'll edit my initial post.
Why would she? She's willing to marry her own granddaughter.
Never underestimate horny church girls.
Yeah they would go down all their sexual energy they repressed on to you
Dorothea’s seductress lesbian energy collapses in the face of Mercedes’ church lesbian energy every time.
What makes this even funnier is if you imagine this comic takes place during a CF route
Mercedes is the surprise Dom in any relationship.
Maybe except for with Dedue.
Yeah nah she would 100% make even Dedue into a bottom bitch, no diggity.
Who *wouldn’t*, though, honestly?
Like he's very obedient by nature...screams submissive to me.
I mean, could also be a service top tbh
This gives me such Good Omens vibes and idk why
PRAISE GAY JESUS!
I mean, at this point, they *did* die and get resurrected, so I guess it could work?
I totally see mercedes as secretly a baddie
Not specifically this case, but I love how most of the C supports in FE3H you end up the conversation thinking "how the hell they became closer after this conversation? It just seems one wants the other dead more than ever now"
That’s most FE supports in general. That’s why I stuck with Frederick/Sumia in Awakening because I was astonished that there was a C-support that didn’t end with someone pissed off at the other
Something I really appreciate is that the “sinful” female characters are actually religious. Better explored by Manuela but definitely applies to Dorothea as well.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment, but Dorothea is explicitly not religious. When unlocking her hidden talent/the training preset associated with it she says something along the lines of "I don't believe in the goddess, but I believe in you professor."
Edelgard and Byleth are off-panel, watching intently.
The homo/bisexuality of everyone except Dorothea, Edelgard, and Yuri seems kind of unreflected in-game. I don't think Mercedes is bi so much as they randomly slapped an S support on her for female Byleth without thought.
I mean her support with constance or annette can be interpreted in both ways
But it's true that while the game doesn't really hide it it's not exactly open either
i dont see any stuff to really imply it except maybe mercedes and byleths a support tbh, i didnt read all of her supports so i dunno
It's more the whole "they lived their life together/inseparable like sisters etc..." which is reminiscent of that, but i personally don't care one way or another
Considering that they're explicit with Dorothea, Yuri, and Edelgard in the actual game (Including Dorothea's ending with Petra which coupled with Petra's lack of gay Byleth S support implies most of the gay Byleth endings were assigned pretty randomly) I would treat anything where it's implied/ambiguous as them not being gay together.
Why did you get downvoted for saying Mercedes sexuality isn’t explored enough in the game? That’s objectively true…
