He snapped back to reality ope there goes gravity
Ope there goes spaghetti
Moms spaghetti on his spaghetti already
Arms weak, spaghetti's spaghetti.
Vomit on his spaghetti already, mom is sweaty
Spaghetti is sweaty already, mom is heavy
Spaghetti Spaghetti Spaghetti Spaghetti Spaghetti
I got jokes on jokes on jokes on-jokes! huuuhhhh
I got spaghetti on spaghetti on-spaghetti! spaaaaggg
Boo! we want more spaghetti yo and not that fake shit spaghetti-os
Well, it was labeled head. He just followed instructions
Waiting for all applications to close before shutting down.
SQL Management Studio has a query window open and fucked the whole thing up.
His brain was like “enough with this poker face, I’m out ✌🏽”
Maybe his brain is so small compared to his head, it was sloshing around in there for a moment before bumping into the skull?
Look into it.
Jamie, pull up brain size facts
Something sometjing have you ever put DMT in your urethra
Lol great comment. If you know, than you know.
Slick way to call my boy Burgos an idiot lmao
Mind said lets go but the body said no!
getting hit so hard it takes a while to load
I’ve never seen a knockout like this. Just bizarre.
Its like in anime when a character does a quick slash or attack and it takes a second for the bad guy to slice in half
Couldn't have said it better myself. This whole clip has anime vibes.
Some Fist of the North Star shit. "NANI???"
I just heard this exact example explained in invincible.
Omae wa mou Shindeiru.
Umae wa mou shindeiru
Every time I watch Edson he does some shit I’ve never seen.
"With a striker like Edson, you don't wanna risk getting knoCKED OUT!!!"
How did his life change after that? I don't follow MMA so I have no clue who this bloke is
After edson slept him he waa literally never the same fighter, and shortly after he retired he had a massive mental breakdown and depression. He appears to be doing better these days
Ah damn, that's sad that it caused him to retire and have a breakdown but I'm glad he's doing better. Thanks for the reply mate.
Terry was actually there too to corner Mike Grundy I wonder if they crossed paths
Little did we know he's been perfecting his delayed knock out for years.
Happens sometimes when fighters get rocked in the temple. Saw something similar in an old Frank Mir fight where he took some forearm/elbow shots from Ian Freeman while he was down, and when they let him up he basically couldn't walk.
Back n school i was swinging on my chair on one leg of the chair and my pal yanked it. Cracked my temple on the corner of the radiator, got back up, sat my chair upright, sat down in it, slapped my pal round the head, then went down like a ton of bricks. Probably a 6-7 second lag from when it happened until the effect kicked in
Definitely the most bizarre finish I've ever seen. In case you didn't hear Joe say it 40 times on the PPV, it was like a liver punch to the head.
This = Lizard brain wants to continue fighting, rest of brain was to go night night.
Pretty sure this guy just saw the post on the /r/MMA subreddit which showed a compilation of delayed knockouts. There were some crazy ones in there with this one included
This fight happened two days ago. This clip has been everywhere for the past two days.
Yeah I watched the fight, just saw that compilation there and this post was right below and a couple hours later so I figured it was pulled from there. Wasn’t saying that’s bad or anything honestly just wanted to reference the other cool post of delayed knockouts lol
It’s happened a few times in MMA. Delayed registry to a KO shot.
That was a wild fight. His soul was ready to continue the fight but his brain was like fuck off.
I think that's just a testament to how mentally strong he is. He almost willed himself past a knockout. That's pretty insane.
He was absolutely trooping through some brutal leg and body kicks too. Clearly not an easy guy to take out
i can't even imagine how sore these two bamfs are right now
I fell off my roof today and I imagine they’re still more sore than I am lol
Glad you're still with us!
Thank you! Ribs won’t let me forget it anytime soon lol
So I'm not mistaken that the guy that wins right leg is super bloody right.
Ya he split his shin the first round.
Fuck that's brutal.
Burgos is as tough as they come, watch his fight with Josh Emmett if you can, it is insane.
Didn't Edson land a headkick as well?
In his last fight against Josh Emmett he took an absolutely ludicrous amount of punishment. More than in this fight. Might be starting to catch up to him :/
Too much heart, no brains?
That hook was fast I thought it was just a weak punch
Shows you how tough Khabib is. I believe he ate a headkick from Edson.
The kick didn’t land clean. The sole of Edson’s foot hit Khabib’s cheek instead of the heel, so it was like a really hard slap. Sorry, but no one has or will ever eat a clean headkick from that guy and not react.
I don't think it's humanely possible not to.
Well Khabib has a cement slab for a head
yup, Khabib ate that like a tik tak
Why would you spell tic tac like that
He’s a blood
Because we are in the age of “tik tok”
You mean Tic Toc.
i'm an idiot lol
mf had poison damage
Body: we good fam
Brain: wait no the fuck we ain't
Chin: What? Man up bro.
Hands: Better protect from this shit
Drunk asf but managed to award you. Thanks for the laugh
Burgo is too tough for his own good. Needs to develop a real defense beyond just tanking shots
he was leaving that right overhand over the jab open the whole fight.
Yeah, I think of a guy like Chris weidman who would still be a legit title contender skill wise today if he didn't get beaten up so badly for so many fights trying to get it all done based on his toughness. It's a real cautionary tale
God damn the dude who got ko got ultra instinct
His name is Shane 'Hurricane' Burgos. He's a very entertaining fighter but the delay in this KO should have him and his team really worried...
It’s certainly a scary looking KO, and no punch to the head is healthy for you, but there’s been more then a few delayed reaction KOs like this in the sport. Charles do Bronx won the title in the next fight after this and he suffered the same type of KO to Cub Swanson a while back.
There's also been more than one that led to death in boxing. That's what makes them scary.
One hundred percent. This is just here say, but for guys like Burgos and Tony Ferguson with granite chins, it’s the accumulation of damage that’s scary. One big shot won’t finish them, it’s the 3 round wars, the 5 round fights where they take 100 plus head strikes. Those are the fights with long term health implications
I really hope Burgos takes a year off. He's taken way too much damage in his last couple of fights. Would love to see Barboza vs Emmet tho.
Yeah man the guys a tank, every fight he’s in is a war, and as entertaining as it is, that’s not a great strategy for longevity. He’s so damn big for the weight class too, gotta wonder how much the cut takes out of him.
To me it looked like the punch just made him realize how damaged his leg was
Like he’s taken bigger shots than that but I think that’s what happened because he backs up and his leg goes out so I’m betting he was just powering through the pain and then his brain went ‘Nah Man we can’t stand on this anymore’
That’s what it looks like right? War Burgos was ready to go, but his brain decided it was nap time.
I think when he got hit it took everything to play it off and he just couldn’t after a couple seconds. Before he starts going backwards you can see his knees buckle a little.
Yeah and I’d also say the adrenaline kept him going for another few seconds
>the delay in this KO should have him and his team really worried...
One of the first thoughts I had while trying to figure out how this happened is that the blood supply to his brain may have been damaged by the punch. It could take a few seconds to lose consciousness after damage to an artery.
Can barely see Barbosa's punches. That guy's speed is amazing.
his striking is still elite after all these years man. definitely one of the more entertaining fighters to watch (as long as he doesnt fight a wrestler).
fuck getting kicked by this guy
And the switch kicks.. Goddamnn!!!
Lvl 1 Thug vs. Lvl 50 Mafia Boss
This guys channels good when it comes to explaining injuries, worth a watch
That was Shane Burgos whongot KO'd. watch his old fights. And definitely watch his future fights. Never and I mean never ever disappoints!
His last year's fight with Emmet was fight of the year contender!
Title should be "K..........O"
I said we BLACKING OUT NOW
That looks like something serious
Still haven’t seen anything like this. Burgos is too tough for his own damn good. His brain was like “aight imma head out.”
My miiiiind is tellin me no!
but my BODY
That guy's out on his feet and his foot movement, head movement, and hands are still in the game. That dude's *central nervous system* is running on fucking training and I have tremendous respect for that. Everyone gets caught, this dude's the real deal, loss or no.
Man could you imagine doing this to yourself for a living.
Even worse when you find out how little these guys get paid. Only the top guys make money, and even then it's nowhere near the amount of the pay top athletes make in other sports. UFC is the top MMA company and yet other MMA companies with less popularity pay their fighters more.
Vicious man. The risk is so high for so little
That's how you tell a calling from a career.
Pfft i got UFC 4 and made like 3 mil after 16 fights. Just gotta retry the fight if you lose, it ain't rocket science.
They got $75,000 bonuses for this fight, cause of how good is it. But is it really worth it?
Man who knows what that rattled loos in that can.
Look at the back of his legs after hes down. They got absolutely punished. Makes me wonder if it had anything to do with him losing consciousness
[You're already dead.](https://youtu.be/WChHqaO5SeI?t=4)
> You're already dead.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
if japan was known for boxing instead of fruit ninja
CSGO lag right there
Looking like Rock Lee after his fight with Gaara in the Chunin Exam.
Internet explorer of KOs
Shane was literally to tough for his own good
Oliviera got knocked out in a very similar manner against Swanson. Now he's champ so apparently there's bright things in this kids future.
Why is there blood on his foot though?
He split his shin in the first round throwing leg kicks.
Honestly who puts the "rocked hard/brain damaged" on every single post? Is it the mods?
Its like the boy who cried wolf; it doesn't mean anything anymore when this clip is "RH/BD" and someone slamming their head on pavement with their arms going up in the air due to real brain damage is also marked "RH/BD".
This needs the windows shut down tone edited into it
ping was too high
That mf is playing on EU servers.
He fighting on a dial-up modem
Quick question: why do MMA fighters always continue beating the shit out of an unconscious opponent till the ref stops them? If the opponent is unconscious, they already won.
Pat Barry vs Chieck Kongo. You dont stop till its over
Askren’s first fight in the UFC against Lawler as well. Dude was basically out on the ground and again on his feet. Lawler was even looking at the ref to stop it and ends up getting choked out later on
Yup! Best comeback KO I've seen to this day.
> at Barry vs Chieck Kongo
Holy crap, that was bananas!
[Link for the Lazy](https://youtu.be/rMAwOwBB5OQ)
Plenty of people recover. There are plenty of instances where the guy stops but the ref doesn't step in and stop the fight, so it continues. Also adrenaline, and a fight happens fast. Sometimes its hard to watch but its on the ref to stop the beating, not the fighter
Even take the championship fight on this same card. Oliveria was nearly out and getting beat on by Chandler but survived the round and then came out and knocked out Chandler at the start of the 2nd.
There were a lot of instances were fighters got knocked out for one or two seconds but recovered and even won the fight because their opponent didn't continue to beat the shit out of them.
They win when the referee stops them, not before.
Most of the time downed opponents only need a few seconds to comeback from ko or being hurt, so they have to bit the shit out of each other or wait for the referee to stop them. Have you seen Sean O'Malley’s last fight? That fight is a great example for how UFC fighters are extremely durable.
The rules in the game illicitly state to continue until a ref stops you.
There’s been lots of times fighters let up and then either get finished themselves, or the fight ends and the lose a decision.
They make it clear to the fighters the ref’s will stop things and be the ones looking out for a fighters safety. The fighters sole job is to fight.
Nope. They've won when the ref stops the fight. There's plenty of cases where one of the fighters just decided they'd won and consequently stopped fighting, only to have the 'finished' opponent get up and return the favor for real.
At this level it's a lot of money lost if you fuck yourself over, so every fighter is drilled constantly to not stop fighting until the ref stops it.
Just like any other sport, you go until the whistle is blown. It seems more vicious because you’re punching someone in the face, but you’re always taught to finish.
Everyone else commenting here has it right, just wanted to add that those last couple hits weren't really full bore. He just can't stop until the ref calls it and needs to be ready if his opponent regains his wits.
Yeah from the fights I've seen it's common to just stay on the guy and give fairly light but quick taps to make it clear to the ref the guy is out and can't defend themselves.
It's that, but it also looks worse to the ref if they see the opponent not defending a bunch of unanswered strikes. Compared to like a couple really hard ones.
It's super necessary
Thomas Almeida vs Sean O’Malley 1st round.
Wrong, the fight is over when the ref steps in, and its won upon the judges decision.
Everyone is mentioning how you’re supposed to fight until the ref calls it, but I thought I would add that the ref is there specifically to call it as soon as a fighter cannot defend themselves. They are on the lookout for signs of unconscious and potential brain damage. I agree, it’s unfortunate that people may be absorbing more shots than necessary, but the only other option would be to call the fight when it “seems” over, which would be nearly impossible to do consistently or accurately, and plus, the fighters would HATE that. The good news is the fighters are aware of this going in, so at the very least they know what they are getting into, and the rules are being followed as agreed upon.
There's an incredibly recent fight (Reyes v Jiri) where one fighter gets koed by an upkick, recovers, and goes on to win the fight. The refs job is to stop the fight, your job is to fight until the ref stops you.
ive seen a lot of mma fights as a huge fan of the sport, i have never ever seen a knockout like this.
i went crazy when i saw this during the event. thought his leg gave out at first (edson was chopping his leg constantly all fight. and edson is known for having stupid strong leg kicks). edson also landing a clean spinning heel kick to burgos's temple in the previous round.
I think it was the punch to the head
When your reaction time is so bad that you get knocked out and don't even show it for a few seconds.
Lmao that’s one ping abuser
Dude is fighting on Comcast Internet
Dude murdered him and the ref let him take a few more shots at the corpse before calling it 😒
I'm not super knowledgable about the sport but what's with the winning guy throwing extra punches and needing to be bodyslammed off the guy on the ground to make him stop? When the fight is OBVIOUSLY over?
Also, respect for that willpower to keep fighting.
The job is to go until the ref says stop. There's been cases of non-stoppage where the guy comes back and wins. I agree with when it's obviously over. Mad respect to the guys who walk off knock out or refuse to hit in those instances.
Yea it's dicey, you're talking potentially loosing thousands of dollars if your opponent gets up and wins. Or even worse if your opponent gets up and injures you, now you are out for an extended period of time concussed, not training and missing out on thousands of dollars in future fights. It's worth noting that the coaches and the gyms gotta get paid too. So taking a loss is not only psychologically or physically distressing but also financially.
Let's just take a sec and respect the ref who just shoves him aside like a puppy. Dude is in a higher weight class than these guys. (And he probably let himself be pushed off, he wasn't going full bore on the downed guy, likely just doing his job of making sure he stayed down until the ref calls it.)
Personally i think the ref took too long to come in; he wasn’t just rocked he was clearly out when his head hit the post. Best to prevent the follow up punches if possible to prevent serious brain damage.
Ya, I totally can see that. Im more referencing how he tossed him aside so casually.
Who is this?
This was the Burgos vs. Barboza fight
No problem, I highly recommend you watch it. It was such a good fight. I believe they both got $75,000 bonuses.
If they did they deserve it. Easily tied for best fight in that main card
Insert type of guy joke here
Real life bleed damage
I love how Mike Beltran tip-toes around before stepping in, letting Burgos take at least 2 unanswered blows to the head before ending the fight. I don't think Beltran specifically is all that bad, but the state of reffing in MMA is just fucked beyond belief. People still act like Herb, the new Yamazaki, Dean has any business being in there, which should tell you all you need to know.
not really. that's how almost every single knockout goes in the UFC. to stop striking before the ref calls it is a good way to end up completely throwing a win. the other guy would have done the exact same thing. it's standard in the sport.
Look at Sean O’Malley’s last fight. He ended up winning but he thought it was over early and didn’t pounce.
I don’t concur, everybody thought it was over when Cheick Kongo was stumbling all over the place against Pat Barry, then outta no where he knocks Pat Barry out.
You obviously are new to MMA. They are trained to keep going until the ref stops the fight. Iv seen some late stoppages but not so much here.
You keep going until the ref stops it.
Best thing i saw today more of these please
Reminds me of the kid from My Hero Academia who has a double impact quirk
