I have a few special occasions coming up and realized that a lot of my dresses are pretty monotone. I want to wear [this outfit](https://imgur.com/a/sjwBIED) to a dinner with friends but it’s feeling a little boring. How can I accessorize this to add some color or glam? The dress is fairly short so I’d want to wear tights with it. I have some red closed toed heels that I could add some color with but I’m not sure if they would look right with how short the dress is. I was also thinking of pairing a red lip and maybe some glittery eyeshadow. Let me know your thoughts!

aquatic_hamster16

A more sheer or patterned/lace tight would break it up and add some visual interest. A chunkier boot or a knee-high (with the more sheer tight). Then some bold jewelry and a not-black bag.

minicheatle

Love the idea of a patterned tight with this. Thank you!

beccalennox

I think this calls for bold accessories. Maybe a thick gold chain necklace? Or some kind of fluffy fur type coat? You could add some flair with your outerwear for sure, a plaid blazer, or any glamorous coat. I would skip the red heels I think they will cut you off at the ankle and I like the monotone.

minicheatle

Thank you!

brkh47

Does anyone where I can get this [Puma-Ferrari dress](https://www.brandsforless.com/en-mt/ferrari-women's-tank-dress-black/480466/p/) please?

InsomniacCyclops

What sort of heels can you wear to a formal wedding in early spring? Black pumps seem like the safest choice but to be honest I kind of hate them and if I’m going to spend money on shoes I ideally want to get ones I like.

Susccmmp

In the spring wedges and platforms are usually a more “springy” choice. I think any metallic like gold, silver, or platinum is basically a neutral and can replace black.

cattiemount

Nude-to-you or your best metal color. Metallics have the advantage of working year round and look dressier if you prefer flats.

75footubi

Depends on the outfit and venue. If it's outside, I'm going with wedges or platforms. My more formal shoes tend to be metallic heeled sandals.

fingle85

Hello! I’m in the market for a gold letter charm necklace for my wife for a Christmas gift. (We just had a baby!) I’d love some advice on reputable gold jewelry vendors who might sell something like this. Hoping to spend less than $400. Names I’ve come across are Bychari, Baby Gold, Catbird, Kinn, and Automic Gold. Here’s a comp: https://bychari.com/collections/initial-necklaces/products/asymmetrical-initial-diamond-necklace-14-16?variant=39660008177727#.

beccalennox

You could also try Ross Simons, Oradina or GLDN. Kinn and atomic gold are going to be more expensive than the others you listed.

fingle85

Thank you! GLDN has some great stuff!

alittlestyle

Whelp, it feels like every year is a rebuilding year for me. I shuffle between basics and the occasional cute top or pants, and am fully WFH, but want to look put together even when just on camera (and just for myself.) As an example, I'm struggling to find a basic tee that looks nice on me, so I'm caught auditioning tees... forever, it feels like. I also went up a size in the past year, so a lot of my things just aren’t comfortable or flattering. Love the aesthetic of places like Universal Standard (which is very hit or miss for me on quality and types of pieces), Eileen Fisher (but a bit too rich for my blood generally), Quince (quality being a mix with them.) What are the brands I should be looking at that I am not? Western US-based. $50 per item, depending on the item, is about what I typically look at. Prefer natural fibers unless I'm going full athleisure. 14 in bottoms, L/XL in tops, love bold colors and sophisticated prints.

Chazzyphant

Modern Citizen, Uniqlo, Madewell, MNGO, Zara (some stuff, 14 is a stretch for most of their options) Nordstrom brands like 1901, Top Shop, Halogen, Nic and Zoe, Talbots, Land's End, J. Crew, Boden, TOAST (although that's $$$), Garnet Hill.

alittlestyle

This is a great list, thank you!

emptytheprisons

Have you looked at Toteme? They have cotton, wool, and silk tees. Their wool blend tees are around the $50 point I believe. Another detail that might narrow down the search - how long do you want the sleeves? I personally prefer half-sleeves, so that eliminates a lot of brands.

alittlestyle

Great question! I want quarter, half, or long. Not thrilled with 3/4 or cap sleeves. Toteme is new to me - thank you!

I just wear belts with that kind of gap. Any more and I get the waist taken in.

basilbrazil

I had a traumatic foot injury last year and will probably need to be in tennis shoes / running shoes the rest of my life (I’m 40). What pants pair well with this “sporty” style? I’ve got tons of black and a few colored leggings, but looking for other suggestions. I’m athletic with beefy thighs so I can’t really pull off pencil / straight leg type bottoms. Dresses will look weird too :( not a fan of jeans anymore as they’re so heavy and restrictive (I ride a bike sometimes)

District98

Athleisure joggers work well, I wear the old navy stretchtech cargo joggers with sneakers a lot. Caveat they’re thin and not really a winter pant.

Ref_KT

Not sure what your injury is, but ascent make shoes that are dress shoes on the outside but sole and support is based on sneakers. Do you have custom orthotics or other special insert for your injury?

basilbrazil

I’m working on figuring out a better shoe, my surgeon left the state so I need a new one. I basically broke everything in my ankle, bones, joints, ligaments, etc. it’s amazing I can even walk normally, although I do still have muscle atrophy and favor my good leg.

emptytheprisons

I also have a foot/ankle injury permanently limiting my shoe choices and thick thighs! I do black slim fit jeans when I'm feeling less creative (they go with everything!), but I prefer a straight leg generally. I find the pencil/straight leg will only look right with tennis shoes if they're the perfect length. For me that's just a bit of ankle bone showing. Have you checked out the trendier pleated work pant styles? They often have much more room in the thigh area and can look quite chic with sneakers. My inspiration for my work wardrobe right now is [\_dresswithdani](https://www.instagram.com/_dresswithdani/) on instagram and tiktok, and she owns quite a few pants with pleats. Usually from HM or Zara. I'd give that a try to mix it up!

basilbrazil

Good option, thank you! I generally don’t dress up much (work from home) but its a nicer option than yoga pants 24/7. What kinds of shows have you felt are the most comfortable and stylish to dress with?

emptytheprisons

I don't know the extent/issues with your injury, but my issue is weakness and stability so I'm a big fan of: * Vionic [loafers](https://www.vionicshoes.com/women/flats.html?msclkid=7607fb75fe8a1a4ffc4e98fbdbb4fea6&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BS_Retention_BR_Core-Terms_Exact&utm_term=vionic%20loafers&utm_content=Vionic%20-%20Loafers) (works with anything as long as the pant length is right and I can wear these for a full day of walking without pain), * Vionic [sneakers](https://www.vionicshoes.com/winny-sneaker.html?color=718), * Reebok [Club C 85](https://www.reebok.com/us/search?q=club%20c%2085)'s with [Protalus](https://www.protalus.com/products/t-100) inserts (the inserts can only go in sneakers with removable insoles, Reebok is great for that) * a classic Dansko clog (only really works with specific outfits, so they're my go-to only when I'm experiencing a lot of pain), I also do some Ecco low-heel booties with Protalus inserts, but they exacerbate pain if I spend more than 12 hours or 3 shorter consecutive days in them. They are unfortunately my favorites anyway! For dresses, I find the only shoe that doesn't look silly and gives me the right stability is a Dansko sandal - they have some flatter options and some wedge options. I do own a pair of Vionic heels, but I can only do about 5 hours in those without pain. Longer if I avoid walking around too much. I also had to adjust my stride for the "fancier" picks. No fast walking, no long strides if I'm wearing any sort of heeled option.

hasuhana

I have [these](https://www.lulufanatics.com/item/54171/lululemon-noir-crop-true-navy) from Lululemon and style them sorta like the model. They're an old style that I got secondhand but I've also seen similar styles in store and in Athleta ads.

4by4fer777

how do i get dresst for something fancy if i can't walk in high heels?

Susccmmp

Really nice flats in like patent leather or metallic or with some kind of detailed hardware

pixie_dust1990

Any recommendations for good-quality cashmere loungewear? My Mom has just had surgery and is scheduled to have more in January and for Christmas I'd like to get her comfortable but luxury loungewear to wear around the house while she is recovering. Preferably stylish looking enough to leave the house as she may also need further chemo and is very particular about always looking 'well put together' when out and about. I've bought her Lululemon bits before which she loves but due to her surgery site (abdomen area) leggings cause too much pressure so I am looking for something which is a bit looser than a legging with a drawstring that they can tighten or loosen as required. Thank you :)

devastatingpebble

Maybe try looking at Cuyana or Cos? And also wanted to pass along that there was a topic yesterday (the other day? Idk recently) about what to wear while dealing with bloat, and some users recommended maternity leggings. So that might be a direction to explore if your mom prefers to wear leggings

hasuhana

Are "slouchy" jeans (specifically [these](https://www.madewell.com/the-petite-slouchy-boyjean-in-glennbay-wash-NG834.html) supposed to be loose/low in the crotch? Got a pair and they naturally sit between my belly button and my high hip like the models, but especially compared to the second model, they look a lot baggier on me. I have a somewhat short torso so I'm wondering if this style is just awkward for my proportions or if sizing down would make a difference?

mgdraft

Yes, they're slouching loose and low on the model as well.

District98

Mine (different brand) seem like they want to be like 1” slouched low to fit nicely. I was just thinking this!

ans678

Anyone know wear to shop (online) for quality tops ($30-50) for women with big boobs (34f) but slim? Or any type of fashion advice that can help me? Literally only wearing ugly t-shirts right now.

District98

Hi hello I am a 34F too! What can I help you with? Short answer: tank tops, stretch, and I often buy Tall sizes at Old Navy / Gap / Athleta for that roomy feel. I buy to my bust measurement on size charts. What is your age, style, location, and what occasions are you shopping for? In addition to r/ABraThatFits, r/BigBoobProblems has good recs.

ans678

Thanks for the recs. :) I am in my thirties, usa, mainly show online. I am looking for a swimsuit and a dress for a summer wedding (guest). Really looking for flattering clothes more than anything. :/

District98

For swim I have had good luck with Freya brand swimwear. I’m not as sure about wedding guest dresses unfortunately, it’s been a minute and the last one I got was from somewhere local. Buying a bit on the large size and having it tailored will be your friend though!

wanderedoff

/r/bigboobproblems has lots of clothing recc threads.

terrificandhappy

Does anyone have recommendations for a warm pair of stockings that can be worn in sub zero weather? I am tired of freezing to death during formal Christmas parties. I have researched the fleece lined fake sheer stockings but I'm not convinced by the quality, the durability or even colour.

magggandcheese

If you like the look you could get fleece lined leggings in a very similar skin shade and put your own tights on top. Then if you wanted patterned tights, less sheer, more sheer tights, you could swap.

riseoftherice

Quality and durability is good. Color is good only if you're white and even then, not too far from the leggings shade. You can also do opaque fleece lined leggings in solid colours.

axlrs

Uniqlo heattech has been a staple for me during the deep winter.

Gothicghosty

Does anyone know what this neckline is called: [https://imgur.com/gallery/7ImpO8J](https://imgur.com/gallery/7ImpO8J) Or if anyone knows a similar top let me know, I just can’t find anything in my searches cause I don’t know what exactly to put.

orata

Bardot neckline!

purplelephant

Can anyone help a newly 30 year old with pics of celebs who are that age, dressing kinda slutty? Like, what is an example of age appropriate hottness? I used to dress more slutty/ provocative but I’ve been in a relationship the past 4 years and now mostly focus my outfits on dressing comfortable and put together. But I want to look HOTT again.

District98

If you want to look at influencers, the Betches media group is all early 30s. Particularly Jordana Abraham and Aileen Dreksler, they’re both settling down but their going out and wedding outfits are good inspo of this “in the wild”. Also obviously TSwift is exactly that age.

purplelephant

Thank you!! I will look into the Betches never heard of them haha.

District98

Love this question, commenting to follow. I’ll circle back with what I think of. I recommend shopping at Abercrombie, I think they nail the sexy 30s vibe, and maybe look at what the models are wearing. In general, I think age appropriate trends are often “elevated basics” of what younger people are wearing. So like maybe some nice relaxed jeans and a higher end bodysuit. Looking at late 20s influencers can be good too. Mindy Kaling comes to mind although she’s early 40s.

branfordsquirrel

30 years old is soooo young! But if you must, Emily Ratajkowski is 31 and I’m always envious of her going out outfits.

purplelephant

Gotdamn if I looked like her I would never be fully dressed! HAHA just kidding but thanks for the suggestion I'll try to copy some of her stuff.

Wolford far and away better.

f1newhatever

Sheertex is the worst. Not sheer at all IMO, unless you're like, 6'. I posted a pic here of it recently, they were practically opaque. And they don't accept returns, even if your product comes damaged. I do not recommend them at alllll.

Away-Pea-5504

I’m looking to buy a nice luxurious feeling bath robe/dressing gown as a Christmas present for my mother. Ideally, I want to get one that has teddy/fleece/towel material on the inside and a cute smooth fabric on the outside to give it that more elegant and put together look of a dressing gown. But I cannot find that kind of robe for the life of me somehow, any recs? (I’m in Europe)

Fireplay

Is there a subreddit for looking for a particular kind of item? Like I want to find a shirt like she’s wearing here (mom from National lampoon’s Xmas vacation) https://imgur.com/a/VU5ZkoF

I believe it is r/findfashion

Clutchingpearls

My company has a black tie event coming up in a few weeks…and it’s 1920’s jazz speakeasy themed. The colors they want are black, gold, silver, and nudes. I saw a few dresses, like [this one from Lulu’s](https://www.lulus.com/products/marvelous-moment-black-sequin-fringe-maxi-dress/1556596.html) that sorta fit, but in pure me fashion, the size I want was sold out before I decided to buy it. So, I’m looking for recs for a dress that fits the theme and color scheme, and I’ll buy accessories to match. I was also hoping [this](https://www.lulus.com/products/glamorous-confidence-sequin-strapless-feather-midi-dress/1988496.html) or [this](https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/bardot-stasia-sequined-corset-dress?ID=4449682) would also fit. I’m a size 4P (5’1”, 121 lbs) that lives in NYC, so I have a lot of choices. I just don’t want to pay $200-300+ for a dress I might just wear once.

FerociousFrizzlyBear

A couple others from Lulu's that I think fit the theme, but are normal/non-costumey enough to wear again: https://www.lulus.com/products/like-a-movie-star-black-sequin-bodycon-midi-dress/1591256.html https://www.lulus.com/products/spellbinding-scene-black-sequin-beaded-fringe-mermaid-maxi-dress/1952496.html

Clutchingpearls

Thank you! The dresses you mentioned were actually items I was looking for - fits the theme, but also goes with other occasions. I already bought one of the dresses.

dracaryopteris

I've had good luck on Poshmark for these kind of dresses. You can get a dress that has been worn once for a good price. I would search "Lulus sequin fringe gown" or swap in another brand.

_kyago

if you're only going to wear it once, have you thought of renting something? the cost would be around one Lulu's dress and it wouldn't sit in your closet afterwards.

Clutchingpearls

That’s actually one of options hehe. I can actually get to the flagship store here in NYC but unsure if they allow shoppers to try on gowns.

broccoliandbeans

I haven’t bought jeans in over 5 years. What are the most comfy ones? Jeggings I think? I’m 5 foot 2.5 inches so I need a “short”. I like jeans that fit RIGHT on my crotch. I don’t even like to have 1/8” weird gap. Hope I’m making sense ☺️

branfordsquirrel

I actually think the current trend of wider leg/straight/bootcut jeans are way more comfy than jeggings or skinny jeans! Those feel like sausage casing now. Try Madewell, they probably will have a lot of sales in the upcoming 2 months.

broccoliandbeans

Thank you!

sighcantthinkofaname

Jean comfort depends on a lot of things, and it's really more about fit and personal preference than anything else. Ons that have more stretch to them (by including a fiber like polyester, spandex, lycra, or elastane) will feel more broken in to start with, but they're also often thinner and won't last as long. 100% cotton jeans are stiffer and more substantial, but they will break in over time and stretch to fit your body specifically. Low stretch denim will be like 98% cotton or more, and will feel a little broken in to start. For myself, I like the higher cotton percentage and at least a medium rise to get a comfortable fit. Places I'd look into: American Eagle (a popular budget choice), Lee Jeans (An older budget choice, Madewell (slightly more expensive but very popular, with lots of styles), and J crew (I've gotten some really good deals from their clearence items, like $100 off). All of those offer short/petite options.

broccoliandbeans

Thank you so much!!! I think I like the ones that feel more broken in and more of a stretch.

sighcantthinkofaname

Cool! Then definately look for ones that have higher percentages of the non-cotton fibers. I'm not sure what style of jeans you're looking for (skinny, straight, wide leg, bootcut, flare) but I'm sure you'll find something you like. I associate jeggins with like a high-stretch skinny jean, so if that's what you want it could be a good term to search.

broccoliandbeans

Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I’m looking for a skinny Jean semi high rise. You da bomb

District98

Try Madewell skinny jeans :)

broccoliandbeans

Thanks a bunch!!

dracaryopteris

I have a couple of holiday parties the same night, and I bought this [velvet blazer](https://i.imgur.com/q2vMzty.jpg) to wear, but... I don't know what to wear under it! One is an engagement party at a cocktail bar, the other is a house party with "holiday chic" as the dress code.

b_xf

I feel like a slip dress would look super cool, especially in a high shine fabric. If it were me I’d go with a shiny/glittery tank top and some killer jeans lol

dracaryopteris

Slip dress was my original thought! But I was worried it would make me too rectangular

mgdraft

Look for one that's bias cut, eliminates that issue.

Geobead

I think a lacy midi dress would look great, a mix of feminine and masculine. example: https://us.self-portrait.com/products/black-tailored-crepe-and-chiffon-midi-dress Self portrait just also happens to have a bunch of great lacy midi dresses, but then I saw the literal example of what I was picturing.

cattiemount

My first thought is: YSL “[Le Smoking](https://www.icon-icon.com/en/le-smoking-the-story-behind-a-constantly-reinvented-piece/)” (also Marlene Dietrich) so I’d wear pants and a white shirt.

dracaryopteris

I've been calling it 'my smoking jacket' so I think I'll go with something like this.

What colours work best with hunter/ moss/ khaki green? I've received an absolutely beautiful green coat as an early Christmas present, a long trench coat in a loose oversized style. It's almost a khaki green but far more saturated then most Khaki green and without any brown undertone, just a hint of yellow, which is why I'd say it is more hunter green or dark moss. It's neutral toned, neither dark nor warm. What colours can I wear with it? I have very pale skin, almost white but neutral toned with virtually no pink or blue, but my hair is a warm toned dark blonde. I don't own any purple, and I don't like wearing yellow, which have been the main suggestions online. I like orange but I feel green and orange is a mostly autumnal look, and I'd like to wear this coat year round (bar height of summer and depths of winter, it's a coat more suitable for transitional seasons).

Susccmmp

Navy, cream, I actually love it with rosey pink shades

just_as_sane_as_i

I like wearing hunter green/dark khaki/olive-ish greens with coral pink. Skyblue might work.Or fuchsia. And leopard print if that’s your thing!

Pretty much every store aimed at the Hollister demographic will have similar styles ([1](https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/tops/t/offline-by-aerie-real-me-v/2161_1107_218?menu=cat1090003&ip=off&utm_source=google&utm_medium=pla&utm_content=aerie&utm_campaign=nogender_activewear_general&utm_term=pmax&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtqjstB_sWCdN0-GoDgguydfceupSZYUwGAVGQtoEOR0Ukeehc6o2aRoC9bAQAvD_BwE), [2](https://www.pacsun.com/john-galt/green-gina-cinched-t-shirt-2916054.html?store=PACSUN-189&country=US¤cy=USD&OriginId=GOG&XCIDP=P:G_Shopping_PMAX_W_Tops+%3E+Shirts&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtoWswH2-m1xuz66LOKQIz9dZWGNfdqhMvwDOSWYP58nEXKEFpKJMNRoCTncQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds), [3](https://us.brandymelville.com/products/gina-top-58s-z8?_pos=10&_sid=0f50c783e&_ss=r))

try looking on Abercrombie and Fitch? Very similar in style to hollister.

Hollister is literally one of Abercrombie's brands.

Yes...? There's a good chance they'll sell a similar t shirt.

WoollenItBeNice

Any advice on where on my leg cropped wide-ish leg trousers should hit? I've got some lovely wider-than-bootcut trousers (wool suiting) but the moths have got to them and there's a hole a couple of inches above the hem. It's big enough that it will be almost impossible to mend unobtrusively so I'm considering shortening them to be slightly cropped but I don't know what length to aim for. I'm 5'1" (~152cm) so slightly wary of making myself/my legs look very short if I get it wrong...

65pinkroses

I’m 4’11” and wear lots of wide leg trousers cropped about 3 inches above my ankles. I also have a pair I lien that hits mid calf. I don’t find they make my legs look short! I’d say fold up the hem ant mid calf and quarter calf and see what you like better in the mirror. Are you wearing them with a wool blazer? I’m a lawyer and find that cropped trousers can look quite cute for office wear with heels

WoollenItBeNice

That's helpful, thank you! Will see what the minimum I could turn them up would be and go from there. Similar profession (regulatory rather than legal) so yea, would hopefully keep them looking smart. Narrow shoulders and a short waist mean I struggle to find blazers that don't look like I borrowed them from my mum, so I tend to go for high-end cardigans and sweaters.

65pinkroses

Oh I do the same! I’m always wearing cardigans and sweaters. I have a large bust so it’s also a struggle ahah. I find that cropped trousers look quite good with heels. It gives off more the same look as a skirt. It depends on how wide your trousers are but here’s an example of a length that could look good. https://m.simons.ca/en/women-clothing/pants/cropped-pants/confetti-wool-culotte-pant--9718-211017?gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtlbx4sMhXSh3L9T7wgn2bRV5QQyoG6AdGoLsv5C3Ls4HheuC3v9nxBoCJiIQAvD_BwE&colorId=3&sizeId=W009-9998&ef_id=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtlbx4sMhXSh3L9T7wgn2bRV5QQyoG6AdGoLsv5C3Ls4HheuC3v9nxBoCJiIQAvD_BwE%3AG%3As&s_kwcid=AL%215784%213%21591455842262%21%21%21u%21333208180273%21

WoollenItBeNice

I... do not. Tbh, that doesn't help the situation, hahahah. They're not that wide, but definitely a helpful visualisation. Also, those trousers are amazing and I really want them!

65pinkroses

Here’s some less wide ones for more visualization! https://www.nordstrom.com/s/treeca-check-print-crop-wool-pants/7100394?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FClothing%2FPants%20%26%20Leggings%2FCrops%20%26%20Capris&color=015 I hope it works out for you! Clothing getting damaged always sucks, especially if it’s workwear you use often.

ultrakawaii

Can anyone please recommend a stylish but functional duffel bag for under $500? [Something similar to this (in beige and brown)](https://tourparavel.com/en-ca/products/main-line-duffle?variant=16395212914777)

softrevolution_

Can I ask why not that?

65pinkroses

Thoughts on colour? I got this pink skirt on sale in the colour shown here: https://intl.needleandthread.com/collections/knitwear/products/mixed-stitch-crochet-trim-short-jumper-petal-pink And the brand released a new shade of pink on the same skirt here: https://intl.needleandthread.com/collections/skirts/products/florence-ruffle-ankle-skirt-sky-pink And now I’m not sure if I regret buying mine when I did. Or did I get the superior colour? I have dark brown hair, and and medium-light skinned with a sort of yellow undertone. I wanted the skirt for special events like holiday parties. Pink is my fave colour and I’m always unsure of which is the nicer shade 🤔 thanks!

cattiemount

I don’t think any single pink is inherently superior but I like the slightly stronger and warmer pink in the first one. Which is best depends on the rest of your wardrobe and your coloring.

65pinkroses

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better about my purchase. I wear a lot of light pinks and whites so a slightly warmer pink works well. I own so many shades of pink it’s hard to think about which is “best”

bittybro

With the caveat that colors don't always show up on screen like they look in real life, I'd say the color you own is a warmer pink than the second one. Since you're yellow-toned, warm colors may well suit you better. OTOH, since it's a skirt and not near your face, that's not as important. Ultimately, there's no "nicer" shade...it all depends on which you prefer!

65pinkroses

Thanks so much! That’s true, it can be hard to tell. I own the warmer one and I can say in person that it’s for sure a warm pink. I’m usually inclined towards the lightest pinks possible which is what spurred my dilemma but honestly I think I like the one I have should look nicer with my skin tone ❤️ thanks!

sighcantthinkofaname

You are 100% overthinking this lol. They are very similar shades of pink, the first one is a little lighter and a little more cool toned, but still very pretty. If you got it on sale too that's a bonus!

65pinkroses

Ahah thanks so much! I needed to hear that. I’m a perfectionist and if I’m spending more than I usually do (ie $200 for a skirt) I get worried I didn’t get the “right” thing. And that’s good to hear that you think the first one looks a bit cool toned as well. I prefer lighter pinks *but* warm tones look better with my yellow undertone. So I probably bought the right skirt for me. Thanks again ❤️🥰

Dr_Oobles

I have had it with Victoria's Secret. I am midsized, bordering on plus sized, and their sizing is so inconsistent that I can fit in L-XXL depending on the panties themselves. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a plus sized friendly underwear brand with consistent sizing that doesn't cost the earth? I would prefer seamless type, with decent coverage; something comparable to VS hiphuggers.

No suggestions, but I absolutely hear you on this. I'm in a very similar size range, so I typically try to buy all of my underwear the same size from them. A few of the five pair I got on sale recently are legitimately too big. And then one of the thngs, which usually tend to be on the too big side if I have a problem, is almost *too small*, Muffin-topping like it's a medium. I even double checked my dozing to make sure, but nope - Just that much discrepancy in their underwear. Nice to know I'm not alone!

I like Gap Body!

I really like Knix since most, if not all, are seamless! They have a huge range of sizes and I've never had issues with their sizing being inconsistent across different styles.

I have too many graphic tees from Attic Salt. They’re usually decent quality and they have a wide variety of cool graphics. I like their space themed ones because of the tongue in cheek humor. But I’m a huge space nerd so YMMV. They’re always having sales so it might be worth checking out. Some of their stuff is kind of cringe but there’s always something decent

Crabbyscholar

Thank you!

mgdraft

I mean the best place to get band tee shirts is the actual band websites, so probably start there. Not sure what country you're in but Simons usually has quite a few nice graphic tees in the Twik and Icone lines; art pieces and such.

I wanted to add that I shop from Uniqlo online bc they don’t sell in my city either. Also! I have a 32E and I find that they look good even on a large bust, they disguise the shape

[LookHUMAN](https://www.lookhuman.com/browse/womens+t-shirt) women’s cotton tees fit this description. Make sure you get the women’s fit and not the unisex. Tons, and I mean tons, of graphics to choose from.

65pinkroses

Have you ever shopped at Uniqlo? I I like their graphic tees, they’re always comfy and have a rotating list of collaborations and styles

For many years all I've worn is mid/high-waisted slim gray/black jeans apart from the very rare skirt or the usual shorts during summer. How do I even begin to choose other types of trousers and break out of my slim jeans habit?

sakurakhadag

Keep looking for inspiration online or on this subreddit. I gave in and bought some wide legged linen trousers last summer, and I love love love them. Can't wait for next summer!

What I like about my skinny pants is the high waist and skinny ankle - so to branch out I got a looser cargo/jogger style that still has the tight ankle I like. maybe you like the skinny thigh or the high waist of skinnies and can find a different fit that still has the elements you like.

District98

I think the first types I tried after slim jeans were mom jeans, straight jeans, relaxed jeans, or wide leg jeans. I would just go for it and get a couple of pairs of those in a brand you already like. You’ll feel more comfortable wearing them as you do it. The other thing to be aware of is what tops and shoes work well with different pants silhouettes. If you’re going wider on bottom, getting a bodysuit or two can be a good compliment.

65pinkroses

Try high waisted slim fit pants! If you’re in the US, Ann Taylor for all it’s a workwear store has nice high waisted slim pants in various colours that I rely on for the workplace. They’re my go-to beyond weekend slim high waisted jeans. Maybe go give those a try on and see if you like how they look? It’s an easy way to stay somewhat without your comfort zone but try something new :)

Does anyone have any suggestions for bags like the Madewell Sydney Shoulder Bag? [https://www.madewell.com/the-sydney-shoulder-bag-NA105.html](https://www.madewell.com/the-sydney-shoulder-bag-NA105.html) Specifically, I love that this bag 1) has a long shoulder strap and ALSO a crossbody strap, and 2) is a little roomier than your average crossbody / shoulder bag, and 3) has a minimalist design. However, I'd love to shop around for alternatives before making a decision. Thanks so much!

75footubi

I just went through this and went with the Madewell medium Transport crossbody. I liked that I could remove one strap or the other

I'm a big fan of Fossil's minimalist crossbody bags! I have two that I especially like for traveling since they're roomy and easy to carry.

I just looked at Portland Leather - they have an ongoing sale on ‘almost perfect’ items that looks like a really good deal.

lobsterrclaw

Agreed! I love my Portland Leather bags, and can’t find any flaws on the “almost perfect” ones that I own.

I’m really glad to hear this. Gives me confidence to try buying one. The discount is amazing!

pettyDoombringer

I really love my Portland leather bags.

Looking for shapewear suggestions. I do not need any serious holding, just want to smooth the silhouette and slightly tuck the tummy (not that much to tuck tbh). Spanx seem to have good reviews. Are they really good? Also I would hate things rolling down so would prefer something with shoulder strap. Should I go for bodysuit style or up to mid thigh ones? Whats the benefit of each? I am in the UK so options are probably limited than USA. Thanks.

Away-Pea-5504

I personally love the Uniqlo shape wear shorts. They don’t roll down, are biker length and therefore prevent chub rub and are also just smoothing enough without giving that heavily constricted feeling. Plus they’re only 15-20USD

this one from M&S is pretty nice. I have it in the white and wear it under sweater dresses. https://www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-light-control-body/p/clp60529555?color=BLACK#intid=plpnav\_pid\_pg1pip48g4r7c4

WoollenItBeNice

God I love M&S for underwear. Wish the prettier stuff was available in a wider range of sizes, but their basics are great. Found a nude-coloured bralet/crop top there the other day, which is exactly what I've wanted for a while and so comfy. And where else can I get a two-pack of petticoat slips (in 3 goddamn lengths) for £20? (I am a drunk M&S fangirl. Sorry.)

lkflip

I also love it and miss it since I moved back to the States.

kaydoug99

I've seen a few people on tiktok talk about a shaping bodysuit that does what your looking for. It is listed on the tiktok shop

65pinkroses

If you’re just looking for tummy smoothing Spanx sells a style with straps that leaves the bust area open. The downside to straps is that you need to buy and open crotch version or you’ll never make it to the washroom! For simple tummy smoothing I own the Spanx high waist shorts. They don’t roll down too much honestly, and I can go to the washroom. I’m in Canada and they sell them here as well…maybe check selfridges or another department store online? They should have stock :)
