See you all in Paraguay
You mean Paragwei?
Wow, and that's not included in the tabloid?
This is the wei
But I already moved to El Salvador, I need someone to come pick me up.
Is it cheaper to fly or go by boat?
I always knew it was my dream country
Should i bring my snow mobile?
I am coming there
That's it then, I'm writing a comment saying I'm moving to a whole different country on my own while in the meantime I avoid leaving my house in the morning in fears of having to talk to the mailman.
Socially introverted? Nah
Paraguay safe? Lol
Extremely safe, especially when they find out you're a foreigner holding thousands of dollars.
"Come to Paraguay"
7 murders per 100,000 people, which is slightly higher than the US’s 5 and nowhere near El Salvador’s first place with 50.
In fairness this also has to do with policing and reporting standards being on par. Do we know if that's the case?
My thoughts exactly lol I'm like "where is this Paraguay?" cause the one I know isn't safe
Depends on the city though. In smaller cities it's pretry safe
Especially in cities with a population of one.
More like safelessless than El Salvador
Which South American nation could be considered safe ?
Uruguay has 71% more homicides per capita than Paraguay does. Both are medium safe via international standards, and nowhere near countries like Mexico and El Salvador.
Probably Cuba IF you're a wealthy foreigner. A good chunk of their economy relies on money from other countries, so you can be sure they go the extra mile to make people willing to spend money on their country, very welcome.
Don’t say that in other subs on Reddit lol. They’ll freak the fuck out and call you a racist... for even “thinking” it might be dangerous
High-quality life? In Paraguay? We're not talking about the same Paraguay then
The other guay?
A safe place to live in Paraguay? XD jajajaja no way
Don't believe that crap
whichever one bans elon is where im going
Defund Musk and anti- crypto institutions
You know this needs to actually become a movement (Defund Elon). I will tell you this much....I had a deposit down on a CyberTruck. After he started playing games with cryoto I cancelled it and put it down on the Ford Lightning (F150). Fuck Elon.
F150 is a nicer looking truck, I was thinking about a Rivian until the F150 was announced.
Tesla looks silly.
Yep and I am super impressed with the strides being made by Ford in the EV space with the Mach E and now the Lightning. Hope they put Tesla out of business.
Maybe Ford could pick up BTC and ETH as payment options? Seems like a good move from an economic and branding perspective.
Fords battery tech is way behind Tesla, I was doing comparison of the model y and the Mach-E and it’s not even close. If it had better range I’d get the mustang
Yeah true....but give them time. They will probably make leaps much quicker than Tesla was able to just based on the fact that its moving so fast now. It will be like computers in the 90's once Moore's law kicked in.
The country of crypto whales! 🐳
Singapore is another country that has no tax on crypto. In fact, I think Vitalik has moved there for quite some time already.
Wouldn’t matter if he is still a canadian citizen. He’d still be bound by Canadian tax law.
You can still be a Canadian and live abroad as a non-resident. In that case, you won’t be paying Canadian taxes while living outside the country.
Pretty sure its only America and Eritrea that require citizens living abroad to still pay taxes to America.
How is it enforced?
Waiting for Honduras to open up and a lot of people ignoring point number 3 🤣🤣
chances of being kidnapped, robbed and killed?
Suppose that comes under safe place to live but I wasn't aware that any of South America was a safe place to live except maybe the Falklands
Ever been to the US? ;)
I guess, most bigger cities are not very safe, anywhere in the world. But in most south American countries, you'll be just fine as a tourist. From Colombia to Argentina. I've travelled the continent a lot, maybe you should give it a try, too.
That's good to know! I guess it's just what we see in the news about Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela that gives the impression!
It’s the omnipresent racism we have here in the “good” ole murica.
Brazil is definitely safe. I've lot of friends over there and they're doing pretty well. A family also went there for vacation and, so far, their stay has been pleasant.
There are safe parts and dangerous parts, just like in many countries on Earth. If you learn the language, stay vigilant and don't do anything stupid you should be reasonably safe.
Yes, you're right.
Panamá doesn’t tax Crypto or foreign income either.
I love that they’re getting rid of taxes - about damn time.
And what's best is that Paraguayan brick weed is the best brickweed in South America!
Hum, our government (Paraguay) just introduced a new sort of tax regulation that charges 8% of all payments made internationally using any debit/credit card. Yes that includes buying things online, paying for subscriptions like Spotify, and buying crypto. Should point that out.
Why are you all so eager to leave all your family & friends for some tax evasion money? Most of you don't even have significant crypto gains to justify the downgrade in life you get when you move from your rich western country.
As an expat living in Latin America I find the life far richer and more enjoyable then living in the “an advanced western society” of the US. Here I eat and live much healthier and have a richer social life and communion with nature. There are many severe problems with the “normal” we accept in the west that is hrd to see if you never live anywhere else.
\> Here I eat and live much healthier and have a richer social life and communion with nature.
There's not a single reason to not have a healthy and social life in the US or Europe to be honest. That's all on you. Most people just like to blame their problems on society, and if those people move out to Latin America they will most likely encounter the same problems again.
Mostly its cost of living. If you save up ~$300,000 for retirement you could retire in a country like Paraguay at like 40 and be able to afford a large property, all your bills paid, etc. and not have to work for a living.
Can't do that in the US.
There are other trade-offs of course, so its not all gravy.
Yeah that's the only reason why I would see myself move to a cheaper country. Or if it's work-related, but let's be realistic, no one who holds ethereum has to work anymore in 5 or 10 years ofcourse.
this is reddit so really nothing matters here, just kids on the internet posting shit all day (yes i see the irony)
Germany doesn't tax Crypto gains either FYI...
After a year of holding it
So it pushes you to hold? I think it's a win win situation lol.
After a year you can sell it without to pay tax on it but you need to have a proof - when you bought it and sold it. At year end tax return you need to provide proper documentation.
If you stake they tax those gains?
Staking them is a bit more tricky to explain and not really finalised by the government as of yet .. but in short - yes you have to pay tax on them..
Same for Portugal I think.
That is very likely to change with a new government.
Except if you‘re lending, staking, LP providing..
Sure it does, but after one year of hodling you are taxfree. Unless you stake - staking income will be taxed unless you wait 10 years.
Give it time.
UAE(Dubai) doesnt tax crypto either 😁
I’ve actually travelled through El Salvador, I guess it was an interesting place but I certainly would not want to live there!
Wait wait, 0.2 BTC fo residency???
Just asking for a friend
AFAIK its even less then that
*I GO TO PARAGUAY*
Whoever made this post has no idea what they are talking about
Even though they are small countries..the point is that they’re making effort to move away from economic sanctions by powers and USD reserves inflation.
This really is a great alternative for many countries. Gold is cumbersome to maintain, store and USD is pointless to hold when the US bought a new printer
BTC/Crypto can be store in a 5 inch trezor wallet lmao. I hope my country follows this too
I've heard from Americans that have tried to live there, they don't recommend it.
Not a very reliable source of information.
They had first-hand horror stories. For example the place became an authoritarian dictatorship in shutdown during covid. Military checkpoints, no travel, etc. Also big cultural differences with corruption, bribery, and ever present scamming everywhere. Examples: you get a girlfriend, she uses the relationship to try to take your assets. You get a lawyer for legal help and he takes advantage of his position to shake you down. Horror stories.
Yeah I wouldn't move to a third world country unless I learn the language and build some connections first. Going out there blind is a bad idea.
On my way
Check out the YouTube channel for Nomad Capitalist. They have several videos on second citizenships for crypto holders.
And they don't recommend Paraguay.
Yes. I have my reservations about El Salvador and Paraguay... but will gladly accept any boost that worldwide adoption has on the market.
I believe Antigua and Barbuda are very crypto friendly. They have many local businesses that accept Bitcoin cash, including some gas stations. The owner of Bitcoin.com lives and works in Antigua.
You can get a citizenship for 100k investment that (I believe) can be paid in crypto (don't quote me on this though).
I lived in Paraguay 🇵🇾 some of the nicest people I’ve ever met!
What about beaches? How many beaches does landlocked Paraguay have?
I’m gonna go to Paraguay 😃🤟🏻
I'd say, based on these natural human living conditions. 1 is better than the other
Let's ride boyz
I was wondering why everyone was so hyped on El Salvador. Makes much more sense to bet on crypto as a whole vice Bitcoin.
I think the bitcoin legal tender is not really a life changing thing as they probably didnt have capital gains on btc either way also buying inot a country is one of the most common ways to migrate. The genious is usinf volcanoes to mine
Shit buy Bitcoin, stay rich always
Packing my bagzzzz
Paraguy will attract crypto investors. Thats really attractive what they offer.
Paraguay doesn't exist, sorry
Does anyone actually know what it’s like to like in Paraguay
Gimme some Costa Rica or Panama, please.
* Safe place to live
* Land locked by Brazil, Bolivia, and Argentina
Yeah but then you live in Paraguay
On the way!!!
My wife just said no to moving
Paraguayians : This is the way
El Salvador has supposedly got rid of the Mara situation and is safe now. And the women look way better so better quality of life? Depends who you ask.
my god, this shitcountrys have to pay me bitcoins not viseversa.
What does residency mean?
This word/phrase(residency) has a few different meanings. You can see all of them by clicking the link below.

How about I let you in on a secret
With the current eth prices, no country taxes you for the loss you made
ETH was like.. 200 a year ago lol
3 BTC is a lot bro 😂
Norway: Doesn't let you die if you go broke.
Both are shitholes with high crime rates
