Sorry baby but I'm still married to Crown Splitter.
I love my crown splitter. It's the main reason I swapped from warlock to titan. That and cuirass thunder crash.
Me except dunemarchers throwing hammer
The Solar rework is gonna hit different with that build :)
Are you me??
Welcome to the team
Ayyy my warlock is in storage until witch queen , that crown splitter slam is just
Nothing replaces it.
Love the hell out of my FG but Crown Splitter is a nice change of pace and slamming it for the heavy attack just feels so nice.
Nothing will beat that feeling of flying high before you crash back down to split your enemy in two.
I miss energy accelerant :’(
Same. I made my crown splitter into the Crucible from DOOM ETERNAL!!!
How? What shader?
If only eternity could roll whirlwind… I just like the swords look more 🤷♂️
I got from first drop when got back the game and oh boiii. I can skip the boss fight now lol
This especially applies now that the Lament has been nerfed.
Honestly still slaps
Paired with Lucent blade and nothing ground or sky can escape my Wrath >:D
Ye, I like the lament more when I need that dps difference. Really noticeable when doing prophecy’s phalanx encounter solo.
Makes me miss being able to use witherhoard w breach and clear to follow up with an En Garde Quickfang. Felt like being able to use a full loadout of legendary weapons.
Until Lament glitches out on you and decides to not work properly :(
when you rev the blade and it still decides to give you standard damage, whirlwind blade falling guillotine and witherhoard do better damage as well from what I remember
When your first slash phalanxes your beyond the target and into a wall
"You just ain't doing it right" -engineer from tf2
Tbh what ever sword kills a champion faster, is a win win to me , more so if I need to mod or combo to do so
Wait lament got nerfed?
multiple times actually
Honestly, I rock FG more often than Lament. Frees up an exotic slot.
Actually, I don't remember the last time I used Lament... DSC? Maybe a Heroic LS?
This season's a good time with passive Guard mod and barrier champions.
Also overload on swords
Lament is inherently barrier, no?
Yes, when you rev it. But there's also the artifact mods which makes swords have the overload thing.
So your lament is good for both barriers and overload. Which is nice to have.
Edit: weird that I'm getting downvoted for just stating a fact.
Didn’t realize it worked like that, I thought since lament was already barrier, the artifact mod wouldn’t kick in when using it
It's because you're wrong about it being good for both overload and barrier. Exotics with innate champion mods can't benefit from seasonal ones -- for example, you can't use Overload Bow on Leviathan's Breath because it already has Unstoppable. Likewise, if you test Lament, it won't trigger a stun on Overloads no matter what since it's already got anti-Barrier.
I alw wondered if Lament unrevved would proc overload. Since unlike every other champ exotic, it needs a specific requirement to activate its AB
Honestly, I ran Lament in a Heroic LS last night to get the Boots of the Assembler. I ran Lament + Overload mod in one of my attempts. Died a bit... I was never comfortable running any mods on Swords because Melee = Quick Death, and essentially becomes useless when trying to tag that one Flying Shank Shield Champion in Concealed Void.
I know it's a viable build though, just not last night. I got the boots after my 4th run (RNG wasn't that happy with me).
Warlocks with swords is kinda meh imo. You don't have much in the way of getting close quickly outside of blink, which has its own issues.
Titans and hunters have their own ways of surviving outside of cc'ung everyone with stasis.
I tried maining lament but it's too jittery compared to FG. And guillotine has relentless strikes so it never runs out of ammo. That and that it takes an exotic, so the only time I find it useful is for platforming (revved light sends you flying) and DSC atrax.
And the fact that nearly every other barrier champ is *RIGHT* outside in the middle of nowhere.
Like Lament for short bursts of DPS and also the fact that if the physics doesn't screw you over, you can unleash a devastating combo on a flying boss.
Guillotine on the other hand, I definitely like for longer DPS phases, nothing is more fun than watching your character turn into a effective Beyblade.
Love lament on flying bosses. Feel like some anime character going all out.
Do you also say under your breath “…I’m sorry master, I have to go all out just this once”
I know I do
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9igO1u0bc3k&ab\_channel=EMPenguinGaming](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9igO1u0bc3k&ab_channel=EMPenguinGaming) is how I feel when I air combo with Lament.
Pop a healing rift down and go to town.
Funny how my Guillotine is 1324
One is raze lighter on steroids and another is dark drinker on steroids
FG is actually Dark Drinker off of steroids.
Ye dark drinker was kinda broken, now imagine if it also got to have mods like d2 weapons
That Warlock sword is somewhere on that roof.
Its in the garbage pile off screen
wouldn’t it be better than FG? It didn’t get an individual nerf unlike FG
But spin tho
Warlock sword is spinny
Should be the theme song for FG.
:( Does Lament still not go through Phalanx shields?
I just like using lament because it makes me feel badass, like seriously A FUCKING CHAINSAW SWORD
Here's the thing. Lament is a chainsaw and Falling Guillotine isn't. One is Warhammer chainsword/Buster Sword hybrid, the other is basically Dragon Slayer from Berserk.
I remember the times when both of these came out. The insta nightmare kills with guillotine. The bullshit revving 5 meters from a boss with lament and the walk of shame up to it. The people giving up their favourite weapons just for a shot with these swords
You guys all love these swords but I still love my Black Talon.
I love all swords
...except rest for the wicked, fuck that.
I’ve put my swords down this season for sleeper simulant but I miss them
Yikes.. at least Banshee is selling a Falling Guillotine godroll today
It isn't Godroll, it is missing Jagged Edge.
ironically Lament is the lesser weapon, cause it uses up the exotic slot
meanwhile the humble proletariat fallen guillotine can pair up with your favorite kinetic or special exotic, no problems
Ah, but does guillotine have the sexiest sound on earth? Didn't think so
Telesto is besto...even with sexiest sound.
That healing from Lament can be clutch though.
Lament dont care about shields, FG does.
Fun fact: any exotic weapon and or armor, takes up an exotic slot, no matter what the argument
The main difference now is overload v anti-barrier perk.
Another difference is taking up exotic slot with a sword (albeit a badass chainsaw sword lol) vs. taking up mod slots with overload sword
That is also true. And void v solar. And yeah, the animation with it being a chainsay is way more badass.
Only that the lament throws you from earth to moon if you lifted your foot of the ground before doing heavy attack
Wait what? There are video on this?
Laughs in claymore
Guillotine got an individual nerf too. After the swords nerf, literally all of the class swords are better than FG.
Just try to do 3 light 1 heavy combo on uneven terrain vs a big boss
I used Lament for some barriers in a lost sector the other day and it felt so bad. The rev’d attack didn’t even have the same animation, so I thought I was doing it wrong at first.
I main the Lament Lucent blade build, its the same as before for the animations. Hell, I did Atheon with the Lament build and matched the damage of other players with meta weapons.... I never give up a chance to go Lament each season with Passive Guard.
Passive guard is honestly my favourite mod every season it’s around.
Same, and combine it with the Lament heal and youre very hard to kill.
Combine it with stronghold gauntlets and you heal on every block with your sword. With protective light as well, your survivability goes through the roof.
My class exotic is reserved for my invis double dodge, I use the Sixth Coyote chest. Then i have reaping wellmaker where i get a void well once i kill something after I dodge. Then that void well gives me Well of Tenacity for damage reduction, and 2 charges of light per well picked up to power my Lucent Blade buff. Its my favourite build in game right now besides my Warlock's Agers Scepter build.
Haha, you and everyone else with the agers build now. That thing is wack!
Unfortunately I hate stasis on titan now so I’ll probably never even bother with it.
If youre not on a warlock using it youre doing it wrong, all about mantle of battle harmony giving you your super back in 20 seconds. Then draining that super with the catalyst. Gotta have fun with it before the nerf man, everyone knows that
Vanilla D1 vet here. I have NEVER started a warlock.
I’m fucked, I know. Soon though, soon. It’s gonna be so fresh and fun, excited to be a space wizard. Until then.... punch punch punch!
Is the damage reduction really that much? I haven’t messed with it yet but I was considering it because it enable speed runs of legend lost sectors so much.
From what i remember its 50% damage reduction.
Maybe I don’t use it enough. 2 seasons ago it was so easy, but it has always been clunky and inconsistent for me since the initial nerf.
The nerf didn’t change anything about the animation or how long it takes to rev. Its honestly still one of the best exotic heavies and the best sword if you’re not a Titan.
The only inconsistent mob to hit are the legs of the fallen walker, and servitors. Servitors need your combo to start in the air right in the middle of thier hit box or you get pushed past them when you go to use a finisher, guessing because of the round hit box. Those two have been like that prenerf too though.
? the animation is the same lmfao
It’s been inconsistent for me. Reminded me of the current issue where guns fire and sound like their basic archetype models.
It’s ironic you choose to use the Lament is the good guy when Clovis >!was most responsible for the collapse!<
A lore-acurrate reason about why I use Falling Guillotine
Are any of them still good?
Falling Guillotine hasn’t changed imo.
Edit: In case people don’t have a Falling Guillotine, the one being sold by Banshee this week is actually pretty solid. Idk it’s drop rate but I haven’t have a single one drop all season personally.
Spin 2 win
Slash slash slash slash slash SPEEN
Banshee’s roll is missing jagged edge I believe but still very good overall.
If you have the past seasons you can get into the season of the splicer focusing engram and select the Blades one to target farm for it.
FG is still the best Legendary sword you can use on any class.
Lament is still good if the activity you're playing is mostly close encounters.
Of course Laments still shreds and it is the only sword that you can attack mid air
Haven't used Lament since it was nerfed. Also it can't cut through phalanx shields for whatever reason while lament can slice past it. Dumb
Yes…. Yes they are. Lament is far superior no?
Hey I need context
Disrupting Blade makes big difference for guillotine this season
When and how did the lament get nerfed? :/
I love my Falling Guillotine, it has gotten me through Space Vietnam plenty of times.
I still use mine I got jagged edge relentless strikes and whirlwind blade and the other perk decreases charge time (forgot what it was called) literal god roll
Too bad I can save some energy on my armors for better mods to kill champion with lament , so I'm good, sticking with it
Lamet's Health recovery on hit is low-key good.
Or just use Worldline Zero like an epic gamer
