Great feeling isnt it? Cant get anything like that in any other games, thats what makes a souls game.

StitchSlayer

You woke up and decided to speak facts. I was literally screaming out of happiness for 5 minutes and I was filled with dopamine for a quarter

Strachmed

But you can? Any game with badass bosses gives you the same feeling. I think i have ptsd from master moon lord from terraria and mhw fatalis.

darkronin24

Unpopular opinion >!Midir and Gael probably are the most Unsatisfying bosses to kill in the DLCs (just counting Hard bosses, so no Spear of the Church, ecc...)!<

Horus_Syndrome

20 tries of suffering, depression, self loathing, nervous breakdowns, broken dreams and heart attacks. Well done, ashen one.

StitchSlayer

Thank you! I started having breakdowns after the 8th attempt. I respeced twice. Tried using diffrent weapons. Buffs. None of them worked. Then I decided to git gut. My strategy was hit his head 1-2 times after he turns around, then roll to to his tail. My main source of damage was his tail. Slow, but simple. Kinda made it trivial. Thankfully in his second phase he didnt do the constant dark beam that one shots me.

timestalker78

Good work! Better than I did my first try. I think it took me at least 30 or so.

ManThing910

I started ng+ mistakenly instead of going into the DLCs. I get to face Midir for the first time ever in NG+, don’t I?

StitchSlayer

Unless you start a new playthrough, but yes. Het ready for pain

ManThing910

Ugggh. My body is not ready.

gymmath1234

Dude you got this easy. I beat him for the first time on NG++, wasn't too bad

StitchSlayer

Then start a new playthrough. That man will beat the fuck outta you. Want my vid of defeating midir to see my strategy? It will help a lot.

ManThing910

Sure why not! It’s gonna be a while before I get back to it. Haha.

StitchSlayer

Here u go! Recommend to read the description for more detail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TCbaEBaSoI&ab\_channel=Guesty

StitchSlayer

Sure gimme a sec ilo give u the link

ManThing910

Thanks!

SkrappyCoco

Damm, negative 4 tries is pretty good. It took me 10+

autXD

Did you solo the fight? Because it took me like 20 tries my first time and I still needed summons

StitchSlayer

Yeah. Midir is harder on summons anyways. Can barley scrath him.

autXD

Congrats! I wasn’t able to solo him until I made a character that I got to an ungodly level and spamming the shit out of the dragonslayer greataxe weapon art

StitchSlayer

I didnt even use lighting. Kind of a pushover

autXD

What was your build like for this one?

StitchSlayer

Sharp sellsword twinblades. Silver mask, fallen knight armor, Anya wather gauntlets, and faraam boots. My level were 37 vigor, 32 strength, base vitality, 40 dex and endurance, +3 ring of favor, estus ring, +3 chloranthy ring, and +2 dark stone plate (useless for me since he didnt do the consecutive dark beam attacks in 2nd phase. My strat was kinda diffrent from other ones. I can send you a vid of my fight tho (it's over 1 GB so you'll have to find another way besides reddit)

autXD

Those twin blades are so broken, I love ‘em. Could solo damn near every boss with those things

StitchSlayer

That's how I beat gael second try lmao

autXD

For me it was the lothric knight greatsword with carthus flame arc on my pyro build

a_soulless_soul

Congrats fellow twinblades edge lord

StitchSlayer

I really wanted to use farron greatsword, but damn that speed

AshesofLothric

I felt that… look at the effect on sentence… it is literally says he/she did it. Congrats

StitchSlayer

Lmao I'm in hot. Did not expect that

DepressedOctopus8

In my friend group, we have a strategy for midir that works flawlessly every time. “Avoid death and let blaze deal all the damage.”

StitchSlayer

dafuq if blaze

DepressedOctopus8

Literally the only one of us with skill in our friend group.

LordranTrash1977

OHMIDIRGH

splayatu

NICE ONE, I need to but hyper-agrressive Midir is difficult to beat, I have to solo him or we just die in a few seconds basically

StitchSlayer

What r ur stats? I think I can help. The trick is to know when to attack. I hit head 1-2 when I first trigger midir, other wise I do that after he finishes his combo. Then I immediately roll to his tail hoping he does a fire attack. If he does aoe fire breath, I hit his tail a couple times, roll out tail sweep, hit his head, repeat. If he does the straight fire breath, I hit his legs. If he turns around I do the same thing. Then roll back to his tail. If he does the combos, just run to him waiting for him to be done. If he does dark beam, move out of his attacks or your dead. Repeat this for second phase except dont even try to riposte his dark beam combo, run away from aoe, and roll out of manity orbs.

splayatu

Solo I can do it, just haven't had the drive to, but ng+4 plus hyper-agrressive with summon boost, that is not fun when you are the best at avoiding his attacks, ai somewhat enjoy the fight, but that just isn't fun anymore

StitchSlayer

Basically the main source of damage is his tail

getrichquickscheme

It had to have taken me over 50 tries.

Stalennin

Finally finished the game on the 31st. I'd been trying to get Midir for a couple of days and had kinda given up, then on the morning of the 31st I woke up like "Fuck it, Imma finish this game before the year changes". Beat him on my second try, then did 20-something attempts with Gael before finally putting him down. I didn't solo Soul of Cinder though, got a random player to help me out with that guy :P

StitchSlayer

Oh zamn. Crazy how everyone's experience is diffrent. I beag Soul of Conder on attempt 3 and Gael on attempt two. Dont give up, Skeleton!

Stalennin

Well, I was running a pyro build, and wasn't really using a shield, so I basically had to learn how to dodge every single attack. By the time I beat Gael and had to take on the Soul, I'd grown tired of playing.I would normally just leave it for the next day, but seeing as I had decided to finish the game *last year*...

StitchSlayer

I didnt use a shield either! I just rolled
