Same thing happened to me. I called Cricut for help and they asked me to send them a video. What did you end up doing?

No they haven’t. They told me it could take 7-10 business days. Going to attempt to exchange it at Michaels today.

just got off the phone with support. they had me unplug and plug my machine back in and then hold down power and mat load at the same time for 15 sec. the power button turned red. then i was able to update the firmware. hope this helps!

You rock thanks! This info should be more easily available. Couldn't get ours to setup/update out of the box but this fixed it.

This definitely worked! I could not get mine to update out of the box! Incredible that Cricut doesn't have this in their troubleshooting steps.
