Could maybe make a toonshader that has like a constant color rught? Dunno the exact node but an added color on top of this thats full white in the highlights from a step color ramp might work.
Camera shake, Motion blur, lower Camara angels and a higher fov can do wonders for a better sens of speed. also 1 direct light source (the sun) with harder shadows can sell the effect of being outside on a race track. It's always a good idea to get some reference from real footage of F1 promo shots. I do like the timing of the shots it's gives of a very "hype" feeling
Lots of youtube 😅 but basically i applied the image texture and then on top of that i added a light specular, then for the shadows i added a anime style shadows in diagonal, then i added a little bit of hatching to show the littlw scratches in the paint :D
if you are going for an anime styled shot, then if you aren't using something similar to a toon shader, you might be missing out.
maybe make the roads texture not stretched, and add harder shadows
Camera cuts are too quick, there is no sense of speed, you need to use a nonlinear animation curve. You need to tell the story visually, think of anime. Anime has a very developed visual language that helps tell the story.
No when doing animations blender will linearly interpolate between key frames. I think you can tell it to make an object follow a non-linear interpolation curve, like an s-curve. This will ease things in and ease things out. Which gives the impression of mass and inertia.
As i can see you're going for a cartoonish look so I recommend ""Lightning Boy Shader""
it is best for a scene like this and also the shadow under the cars is very soft a sunlight shadow is very sharp if you're going for an overcast look try a very soft shadow.
Yeah, the lighting boy shader is kind of the base of this, but i modified a little bit. Aha, i got what you mean with the shadows and light, it is very true. I ll try to change it :D
I think that camera angles are switching too fast, but maybe thats only for me. Overall, looks very good
I think you are right. I will try to have longer shots. Thank you!
And maybe also try to increase shadow resolution in render settings tab
Thanks man! Didnt knew something like that existed :D
Feel like a more glossy material on the cars would work very well
Thank you mate. I will try, lets see if i can do it keeping the cartoonish look :D
Some pure white or nearly pure white specular highlights should help

I had exactly that crated, i will try it mate :)

I have an HDRI, but i guess this sun idea will perform better for more shadows. Thank you mate!
Yoooo I am making a race car right now too! I am up to the texturing, how did you texture yours?

What is ‘the image texture’ because I have an image of the car, like irl photos
With the image texture, i mean the node where you select a png image to apply the colors to the cars
What image did your use?
I have downloaded al logos in png format and made it myself in photoshop :D

With "use a nonlinear animation curves" meaning that i should create everything separate and then put them together in post production?

I wish Hamilton was pole irl too

If ur using the lightning boy shader make the car's paint glossy the matte look doesn't go nicely.
