Using a laser pointer on this spinning top wheel
By - _Amante_de_la_Moda_
OMG! You've discovered glow in the dark materials!
1980 called they want their glow in the dark material back.
No, this is Patrick!
Sir this is a Wendy’s
No, THIS IS ZINC SULFIDE!
Kicks you into a nearby convenient pit.
And my axe!
*Lickity lick intensifies*
You'll get my glow in the dark stars after you pry them from my cold dead hands!
Phew! I was worried I'd have to climb on a ladder to get them off of your ceiling.
Your cold dead hands are no match for my Hypercolor t-shirt.
Whoa! How does it... Oh, it's glow in the dark.
"Wait for it!"
No no, we got what was going on less than a second in...
Omg when he stops it, it stops spinning
We also got what we were waiting for literally 2 seconds after the sign showed up
Wow that’s some kind of future material that absorbs light, stores it and then releases it. 1920 called and asked for some radium ….. 1970’s hippies want their trippy stuff back 😂
radium does this without the laser pointer!
It glows with the power of cancer!
Sort of not really. The green-glowing "radium needles" used in clocks and compasses (or anything with "radium paint") were actually still mostly zinc sulfide. Trace amounts of radium provided the excitation energy, but it was the zinc sulfide that emitted the glow.
Now, pure radium apparently does have a faint blue glow (either due to Cerenkov radiation or from ionizing the air around it), but that's an entirely different phenomenon.
thanks for the clarification! i knew somebody would be along to comment and clear things up.
RiP Radium Girls
Radium makes you do that without the laser pointer … if you have enough 😂
This is not necessarily zinc sulfide. I heard it got mostly replaced with strontium aluminate nowadays. (A little more expensive, but glows 10 times brighter.)
Still waiting for it… 🕰
After the third time being told to wait I've realized it's on a loop. Not sure what I'm looking for!
The realization that it’s just a glow in the dark material lol
This belongs in r/mildlyinteresting. This isn't really "black magic". Still cool though.
Most things in this sub belong on r/mildlyinteresting. This sub lost it's way a long time ago.
I think if I took a 5 strip I could literally bust a nut to this
You are my reddit hero
Swore he did something here
Wow, something absorbed light and then slowly releases it? There cannot be *any explanation* besides magic
What exactly is the point of this subreddit? Literally all of it's posts should be submitted on r/nextfuckinglevel or r/BeAmazed or something similar...
Yup, it's actually just useless now. Like this isn't even black magic-y. It's just glow in the dark.
how the fuck does this have so many upvotes? bots?
gonna 3d print smtn like this
Am I the only one who sees a Rick and Morty portal?
Thus comment section looks like a YouTube one
What sorcery is this
Y'all are no fun
That's so cool

Not BMF. Science.
You have just posted 20th century's tagline.
"wAiT FoR iT"
Those things have existed for a long time already, I think it's called "luminous" materials or something, mostly used on wrist-watch dials
Yep, it's a plot point in MGS1: https://metalgear.fandom.com/wiki/Permissive_Action_Link#ArmsTech_PAL
This isn’t very BMF. It just glows in the dark? You can literally buy a huge like 50 yard roll of this stuff
Row row ! Fight the powaa !
R/blackmagicfuckery where the only posts that reach the front page are the ones that the whole community thinks don't belong.
Glow in the dark top with pin pointed laser light. Clever
You mean used a black light pointer on a glow in the dark top
