I can only speak to my experience and my friend’s. I recently got my kyleena about a month ago. I have been using tretinoin consistently for about 4 months now and my acne has somewhat been kept at bay. Nothing really changed. For my friend, she has been 4 years on mirena. Her IUD gave her cystic acne. She went on tret about 2 months ago and her skin has been clearing up significantly. I do believe if you suffer from cystic acne, and you have the means to get tret prescribed to you, go for it. It really helped with my acne that I’ve been having for over 10 years.
