[Phila Inquirer] Didi Gregorius blames COVID-19 vaccine for elbow issues; experts say he’s wrong

ThePancakeOverlord

Baseball players really are dumber than we think, huh?

NeurosciGuy15

People in general are. *Gout* flair ups can be triggered by vaccines, so I can at least see how Didi might get confused with some Googling or something. But to really lean into the whole “vaccines caused this” even in the face of opposing evidence is really stupid and does nothing but deter others from taking it.

RecycledCan

Yeah the article referenced a doctor that said it could have been a flair up from the vaccine, but it wouldnt have lasted this long.

Future_Tyrant

I’m reminded of that quote in Men in Black where Tommy Lee Jones mentions that a person is smart but people are dumb, panicky animals

burntnotes

Didi...

VTMonsta

No baby what is you doin...

SoCalvikes

Frankly I blame the Covid vaccine for my lack of a major league career altogether. I was well on my way at 30something, got the vaccine and it never ended up happening for me. You can't tell me that's a coincidence.

very_humble

1 week after getting my 2nd shot, bam, out of NOWHERE, I get arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Yet Big Media won't talk about these side effects

JamesWithaG

...didn't he have TJS?

tr3v1n

Yes, The Johnson&Johnson Shot! That is what he is saying!

JamesWithaG

I love that someone downvoted you because they thought you were serious

tr3v1n

In their defense, even extremely cartoonish ideas are actually serious posts by some people these days. Please get vaccinated, folks.

It's interesting cause he was diagnosed with Pseudogout according to the article. He then goes on to say the Phillies accused him of his drinking causing that, which he refutes. But after a minute of google on Pseudogout shows that one of the causes is joint trauma and specifically references serious injury or surgery. So it sounds like either A. The Phillies team did not explain what also could have caused it, or B. Didi is choosing to ignore what the medical staff is saying. Also he says he doesnt eat red meats (which can cause Pseudogout). But shellfish can also cause it.

Docphilsman

He's such a fucking moron he was trying to convince others not to get it... while he has a kidney condition.

EvangelionOG

Pretty much this. Just stamp I am a fucking idiot on his forehead

TheFriffin2

You’d think the guy with a medical condition requiring him to wear a mask on the field would take COVID a little more seriously 🤷🏻‍♂️

Notonreddit117

Didi is apparently a huge idiot, which makes me very sad. Or maybe you had TJ a few years ago and sometimes things don't hold up after TJ?

yeetmcqueen00

This is oof

elchamps

Huhhhhhhhh?

usedmyrealnamefirst

Oh no

retroanduwu24

Didi stop talking. it's bad enough Philly was or maybe still is one of the lower vaccinated teams in the NL

GodPowardKingOfLies

God I wish he wasn't like this :((

NoFlags-JoeBuck

Dumbass. You had Tommy John and have not been the same since dude.

Ginjew2004

Lmao

joco1991

What about his swollen nuts?

ElDiabloBlanco123

Does this really need to be posted on r/Baseball? This isn't what we come here to see or discuss.

brandon_the_bald

Should probably change that to “ppl with brains”

WshNats22

I was really hoping this was an onion article…

vites70

Lol this is great… utterly brilliant comment

jevole

Can anyone explain how this might impact his knighthood?
