After being relatively disappointed by the other coastal towns in Montenegro, I was ready to write Montenegro off as meh. Kotor completely flipped the switch. Its dreamy old town is rivaled only by the stunning natural beauty surrounding the city. The Bay of Kotor weaving through the majestic mountains overlooking the city just made for some epic scenery. I woke up early one day and made the hike up to St. John's Fortress and was treated to these stunning views as the sun rose and the sky brightened over the still sleeping city.

Kotor is fabulous. And the climb up to the old monastery/ fortress/ old walls is worth every bit of effort. And then come down and grab a slice of pizza from a hole in the wall somewhere in that maze of old streets.

How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again? Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed. No information posted?
