Albania has been one of my favorite countries on my latest Euro-trip in the Balkans. It's been full of surprises so far, and one of the best stops has been the small village of Gjirokaster. The old town is small but filled with all these cute shops, restaurants and bars, all with their unique stone roofs. Overlooking the town in the distance is Gjirokaster Castle nestled on a hill, giving you stunning views of the town and the surrounding mountains and valleys. Definitely one of the best stops on my Balkan backpacking trip. It's also home to one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at: Stone City Hostel.

Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again? Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed. No information posted? Please report low-effort posts if there is still nothing after about 30 minutes. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
