Arkansas Republican quotes Bible to call transgender people ‘abominations’ on the state house floor

Arkansas atheist here. This past legislative session was humiliating for me as a humanist. The Arkansas GOP took the lead in theocratic America's censoring of the LGBTQ community. These people are blinded by their religious ideology and exhibited absolutely no empathy in targeting fellow human beings who happen to be different than their own bigoted self. We must remain focused and alert as these theocrats have a full blown agenda to install Xtian dominionism in our courts, schools, and elected offices.

Oh, and don't forget: Ban racial history in schools. Y'know, because, black slaves were all fine and dandy, they had health care and could even "not" work when they weren't feeling like it. You know, white washed history at its best.

They are succeeding already. Vigilance didn’t help, action is needed.

If not a member yet please join the FFRF and support their legal efforts to thwart theocrats. ffrf.org

Literally just did. I am absolutely still in my “angry atheist” phase of deconstruction and I’m not even ashamed of it. Anything I can do to spit in the face of the church, I’m here for it.

AR atheist, too. This is SO embarrassing. My daughter is gender fluid and everytime this shit goes down, I feel helpless. It hurts her and it hurts me. Frustrating as well. Why can't we all just be human?

> Why can't we all just be human? The Golden Rule, "do no harm", whatever we can summon to ensure empathy wins out and not callous ideologies.

I am about to move there will I regret it?

the only bearable parts of the state are northwest arkansas and little rock

What is your occupation? Do you enjoy the outdoors? I live in the north central Ozarks on about 50 acres of secluded forested land. There is a microbrewery down the road about 12 miles (Gravity Brew Works). If you like the urban scene as opposed to a rural existence then Little Rock or Fayetteville is the top 2 choices. Eureka Springs is very progressive.

Christian Nationalists, #1 threat to America

They'll go ahead and vote for White Supremacists, that's the worst part.

Because they are white supremacist.

Hitler was a Christian nationalist

Not advocating for Hitler, just have an interest in WWII history. I just read that Hitler actually was against Christianity privately, and thought it was dumb and full of lies. He just supported it for public image and to ensure support from the Christian masses. I guess on the surface was still a Christian Nationalist though.

Sound like someone we know....

Quite a few in the pulpit as well as baby Hitler

> I just read that Hitler actually was against Christianity privately Is this a 1st hand he/she said situation? Or is this coming from a game of telephone where the rumor passed through several people as source? edit: According to Albert Speer, Martin Bormann, and Joseph Goebbels; Hitler did believe in a higher being, but was against the organized Christian church as he claimed it was same as communism. Yet, he saw it as a useful tool to gain support from the German people. Hitler also condemned atheism. According to Speer, Hitler claimed Islam would have fit Nazism better since it spread through sword, but ultimately failed to overtake Europe because he believed Arabs are an inferior peoples.

The latter. Martin Luther's teachings, in relation to Christianity, has been well documented as being used extensively by Nazis/Nazi Youth.

yes that's true, but my question was more in regards to the comment about Hitlers personal opinion on Christianity

The occult Vril

Hitler was an occult Vrilist… yeah a ‘higher (or lower) power’

It's a very well known and well established fact that Hitler hated Christianity. "“The Mohammedan religion would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?” https://www.opindia.com/2021/05/israel-palestine-jews-adolf-hitler-once-wished-he-was-muslim/amp/

> It's a very well known and well established fact that Hitler hated Christianity. It's not. It's a *popular claim* among Christians. As it happens, the primary source for that claim is a known forgery, and the supporting sources are all highly suspect. The one reliable firsthand source we have on the subject is Hitler himself.

> It's a very well known and well established fact that Hitler hated Christianity. uh huh ... known to everyone except Hitler "We are a people of different religions, but we are one. Which faith conquers the other is not the question; rather, the question is whether Christianity stands or falls... We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity … in fact our movement is Christian. We are filled with a desire for Catholics and Protestants to discover one another in the deep distress of our own people." - Speech in Passau 27 October 1928 Bundesarchiv Berlin-Zehlendorf Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord. The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated. For God's will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will. And the founder of Christianity made no secret indeed of his estimation of the Jewish people. When He found it necessary, He drove those enemies of the human race out of the Temple of God. - quotes from Mein Kampf

Religion is seen by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

One thing to keep in mind is that dictators don’t like parallel power structures very much. And a power structure that relies on Believe what I say is in particular dangerous. So either destroy it (if you can do that without risking your position) or make it an ally.

I wonder how many American politicians are closeted atheists underneath it all. Clearly, a lot of them are highly intelligent, and must have have critical thinking skills.

Esquire has a great article called, "The Rise of Elevated Stupidity," that is a great read. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a36439329/rise-of-elevated-stupidity-cable-news-politics/

That is a good article. Thank you!

Are you seeing the same politicians I am?

So, the same as about 60% of all American “christians” then? Public image seems to be everything there.

Like every other politician it seems.

You just described every republican congressman.

That's likely true of a lot of powerful people throughout history. Some of the Crusades were only ostensibly about religion, but really were about conquering land.

Sounds just like Trump 🤔

How is that any different than Trump?

This is correct, but I've been downvoted to hell numerous times for posting it. Be careful.

I'll give you an upvote.

So his lust for magic artifacts was just to improve his facade? I thought he was serious business on Longinus' spear and the like

He wasn't a Christian Nationalist in any sense, unless you're trying to say that he was a nationalist and nominally Christian (though he didn't like the religion) and therefore in some sense a Christian that was also a nationalist and therefore a 'Christian nationalist'? That's *not* what "Christian Nationalist" refers to.

Yeah loathed the idea a of a tutelary deity ranking hire then him however COMMA he knew the people loved his and he wasn’t against manipulating god to get ahead

Hitler was most decidedly not a Christian Nationalist. He wasn't an atheist, as many theists often claim, but he hated Christianity. He actually said that he thought Islam was a better fit for Germany. He didn't believe in an afterlife or in any particular organized religion, but did believe in a vaguely personal divine entity he referred to as "Providence" which he believed protected him from various assassination attempts.

So busy "fixing" our country in the gawd they fail to realize they are the problem. They always spout this God and country crap. If JC were real and we somehow brought the founding fathers back let's just say a lot of tables would be flipped and treason trials would begin.

\*armed astronaut\* Always has been.

so what you do about it?

Make sure to never vote them into positions of power

Funny how they love the old testament laws if it's to condemn others, but aren't so into it when it comes to what they eat, what to do with their hair or wearing mixed fibers.

Oh… without a doubt wearing mixed fabrics while spouting that hateful bullshit. Btw, for those who may not know, the Bible says not to wear mixed fabrics in the very same book she’s spouting her bullshit about the LGBTQ community.

Say what you want, you can't tell me a god is straight that has enough fashion sense to know that 50% polyester shirts are an atrocity.

And uses a rainbow to make sure you know he’s serious.

Yeah. Very heterosexual indeed.

This is why I love Reddit!

Timothy 2:12

This is the book and verse you want in this instance. The best part is that it is from the NT, so they can’t hand-wave it away.

Actually, that’s Leviticus, she’s reading from Deuteronomy. However, Leviticus does indeed spout some hateful bullshit about gay people.

Um... Deuteronomy 22:11 would like a word with you. > Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together. - Deuteronomy 22:11 ... 6 verses away from the very verse she used to spew her hateful rhetoric.

Oh Wow, guess it’s repeated, I’m at work right now but I’ll get back to you on the Leviticus passage.

No worries. And I don't need any education on what's in the bable. I know it more than 99.999...% of xians. Enjoy work. I just got off.

You make a good point, that’s for sure! Have an upvote.

Agree! Most Christians have never read it

There's a thought that one book may have been from Israel and the other from Judah, and repeat because of that since they were separate kingdoms. I feel like I heard that from Digital Hammurabi but I can't remember.

Specifically wool and linen. At least, that’s the Jewish prohibition.

These people aren't religious, they use religion as a cudgel. It's a weapon that they can use to be hateful pricks under the guise of being righteous "god warriors". They're not interested in being good people, they aren't interested in helping others. They only want to feel powerful by pushing their "beliefs" on others. Things like gays and trans people scare and anger them, or make them feel things they don't want to admit to themselves. And Christianity gives them license to abuse those people. In a world absent of Christianity, they would find another reason, any reason, to do the same thing. They would grasp at any straw to find a way to abuse people they don't like while appearing to be righteous. It's a power trip, pure and simple.

Sorry but that is a No True Scotsman fallacy. They are just as religious any anyone else. Who are you to say that “being good” is a requirement for being a Christian? I mean from a historical perspective they would be truer Christians than what you seem to think Christians should be. There is no standard by which one person can be declared a real Christian or not. Simply put, there are as many Christian sects as there are people who practice.

Kind of sounds a lot like their god.

I wonder if she ever read the book of Timothy.. She should start at Timothy 2:11 and read from there. Edit; Just to be clear I do NOT believe that book is correct and that women should follow it.

walking pickers and choosers depending on what they feel like hating on that day

And if ur going off OT logic, then anyone none-Israelites are just not important to Yahweh. He isn’t the god of gentiles. So essentially, god doesn’t care for more than half of America.

Or going for brunch after church.

“Let’s see….I’ll take this passage literally, this one as just an allegory, this one as a justification for my bigotry…”

And tattoos

Their argument tends to be: “Jesus did away with all that” yet make no distinction between what exactly Jesus did away with even though Jesus himself said he wouldn’t change Abrahamic law.

Let's all give a big hand to Christian "morality." Every time I witness it I feel like I need to clean my shoes for what I stepped in.

She appears to be wearing clothing of mixed fabrics.

She also appears to be working instead of at home with her husband

Christian women have to work hard in secular society to uphold the hierarchy! - God - Jesus - Real Christian Men (tm) - Real Christian Women (tm) - Baby-eating heathens of both genders - Me, an abomination /s This is what they actually believe. They'll accept gender equality (for cis people, anyway) when it lets them own the libs, but their long-term goal is always theocracy.

> On Thursday, Arkansas state Rep. Mary Bentley quoted Deuteronomy 22:5 on the House floor to call transgender people "abominations" during a speech." > A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor man put on a woman's garments," said Bentley. "For all who do so are an abomination." …. Another fucking republikkkan giving a giant heaping pile of fuck-all about the separation of church and state. I have honestly never hated anyone in my life as much as I do republicans and their fucking hateful religion. . …

>A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, Yeah, about that jacket she's wearing…

Only uses the old testament if it fits their needs, while using these 2 main excuses when it doesn't fit their agenda: - It's not to be taken literal - You're taking that out of context

The 3-pronged gambit of discussing a bible thumper. "The Bible does not say that!" "Well, it does not mean that!" (insert hissy fit here)

She's probably also wearing pants. What an abomination.

Disgusting. Better lock her up.

>"A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor man put on a woman's garments," Say, [is that her](https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2021/apr/08/house-advances-bill-to-let-schools-teach/) wearing those pants?

>A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor man put on a woman's garments ... and because trans men are men and trans women are women, they shouldn't be forced to live and dress as their assigned gender at birth by the same logic. So about that suit... who's the real abomination here? /s I know people like her think gender and sex are the same thing, just wanted to point out how they're actually right but then say some bigoted bs that clearly shows they don't even understand what they're talking about, yet they're hating on it.

Right, she's actually calling crossdressers an abomination. And as a former crossdresser, I'm still pissed

A funny thing is, this verse bans crossdressing not transgender people. A trans woman is a woman, a trans man is a man. Clothes have no gender anyway but even then a trans woman wearing a dress would be a woman wearing a dress and a trans man wearing a suit would be a man wearing a suit. The divine law remains unoffended. Even then, the law isn't divine in the first place and whoever likes to crossdress should do so.

Its even more stupid because you can just say “yes and? A trans woman is a woman and a trans man is a man, so let them wear the ‘right’ clothes to affirm their gender”

How very Christian of her. We should vote her out and make her go live in a cave.

>"A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor man put on a woman's garments," So how would a transwoman wearing woman's garments violate this rule nobody outside those with a certain hobby really cares about? It almost sounds as if she's trying to find something against transgender people in her book that doesn't actually mention them.

Then she better outlaw Halloween costumes! Edit: fat fingers

Oh, don't you worry. Once they've settled the hash of all the wrong-sex-doers they'll be coming right after those Say-tannic practices on the Devil's Favorite Holiday.

I don't want to live in a world where cis men can't dress like sexy witches for Halloween.

I lived in Fort Smith for several years and then Little Rock for a couple more. You couldn't pay me to move back to Arkansas. It has beautiful scenery (well did, but their Republican government has fucked up the Ozark National Forest), but the culture there is draconian, especially in Fort Smith or "Fort Baptist" as people call it. Little Rock is a little better but even it sucks ass. My catalyst for leaving there was being fired for being gay.

>fired for being gay. That's so wrong. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

> fired for being gay. "Why are all our smart young people leaving? It's probably cause of the Mexicans" -- Republican big brain think

She's wearing a blazer. Who wants to tell her she's going to hell.

Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

This is so pathetic. It's a blatant sigh of the lack of respect for separation of church and state some people have.

They break it every chance they get. Just chipping away at that wall. And nobody calls them out on it or sanctions them.

I'm pretty sure the Bible makes no mention of trans-folks whatsoever... not that this rhetoric would be acceptable even if it did. It's just disgusting hate against American citizens.

Take off your pants and your jacket then, bitch. Cover your hair. Those fibers better not be blended either or you get put to death. The fuck are you doing in a position of authority, get back in the kitchen you whore.

I really wish a democrat would grow the pudendas and say something like this whenever a republikkkan lawmaker uses the Old Testament to push their bigoted agendas.

Unfortunately, they’re spineless and they also ride the coattails of religious addiction. They pander to it as well, just not the most hateful parts. And as long as they all keep feeding it out of greed for their own advancement, they’re pushing us all one more step at a time back into the dark ages.

Bible literally promoted slavery. So how about bot use it for moral purposes side by side to the constitution?

To make rules

Who wants to ask her if she thinks we should listen to the rest of deuteronomy and stone rape victims

I don't, there is a real possibility that she would say yes and gain support.

I intensely dislike my state's government, republikkkan ideology, and the bible/christianity's hateful and cruel ideologies. EDIT: and I hate how some devote their lives to being hateful pieces of shit based on what their fictional pile of toilet paper of a book tells them to do. EDIT 2: I don't dislike christians, I dislike the ones that are rude and cause social issues (racism etc.) I dislike christianity as a religion and I dislike the bible due to the horrible and cruel things in it and I dislike how horrible people take things from the bible out of context and twist it to make an excuse for shitty behavior.

Especially when you think about these so called garments that were worn around the time said fictional pile of toilet paper was being jotted down and during other eras of humanity. Guys were wearing full blown what we would call modern day hipster dresses and skirts.

This needs to become a thing again.

I agree. Balls need to breathe again

Lets just wear kilts

Domestic terrorists, calling their fellow Americans "abominations" and trying to exterminate them. Absolute hate cult, threat to America.

The bible is just pure evil

Define evil

As a Canadian I'm shocked that religion is so blatantly allowed in government like this. This is disgusting.

Funny how she quotes Deuteronomy. The part of the bible that says rape is okay

Pretty sure that man's suit she's wearing mixes fabrics.

Who will be the first to shove a shrimp-cheese-burger down her throat?

and this is why mixing religion and politics is such a stupid idea.

Are you kidding? It gives them extra power that they were never elected for. They wouldn’t give it up for anything.

Don't make me crack out Timothy 1, *woman*...

I do not permit a woman to teach….she is to remain quiet. 1 Timothy 2:12

Timothy 2:12.

What a hairbrained stupid bitch

Religion has no place whatsoever in democratic politics. Because the very concept of “heresy” goes against free speech and democracy. Also, religion is a load of bullshit invented by people 3000 years ago. If you believe god is real, why not believe the earth is flat or that the earth is at the center of the universe? It’s the same bullshit from millennia ago.

These fucking lunatics cannot seem to help themselves. They have to and always will bring bible babble shit into public affairs, public land, government, courts, every goddamn opportunity. They don’t give a shit about the constitution. There needs to be repercussions for doing this. It’s all about the secondary unofficial government: religion. It’s a tool for them to govern unofficially in matters where they cannot govern officially.

Geeze. Let's quote the 1 book in history with the most contradictions

Sometimes I believe we should encourage these boomers to behave and express like this in our dark age modern society, just so they can embarrass themselves even further in which they won't even able to repair their faith, in which the youth will definitely drop their religion for good. Should be eggin them on with all the bad quotes in the bible on purpose, making it sound moral. Just to see how far they get away with it and actually see how truly disgusting they are if they manage to take it further. Instead of canceling them, should just encourage their stupidity and see if they realize or not. Sounds like chaos but eh I think it may work..

Time to get religion out of our government.

Party of hate and inequality.

Her hair, glasses, and outfit are an abomination.

Someone tell me why Biblical arguments are permitted in politics? 1. We are not a Christian nation. 2. That is encouraging religion which is against the first amendment.

Bible Lesson from the show West Wing. i just love that speech. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CPjWd4MUXs

If only a real elected official would just do this. But none of them ever will.

Is that a Poly-Cotton shirt that you are wearing?

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:12

The Bible also says you should sit down and shut up, Woman.

I think a woman in a leadership position is an abomination. God told me so.

fascist nonsense

Even IF and stress that IF you think transgender people are wrong and think they shouldn't be transitioning ... Abominations??? Really??? Fuck off.

Who else thinks that religious banter should be banned in government settings? It’s unconstitutional according to the 1st amendment, the us government can’t push a religion nor can it’s officials do so

The 0nly sex she'll ever get is from her fingers.

Eesh you’re not pulling any punches, are you?

I wish someone would sponsor a bill using the Bible is justification for not having interest on loans. It condemns the practice of charging interest on a poor person because a loan should be an act of compassion and taking care of one's neighbor"; it teaches that "making a profit off a loan from a poor person is exploiting that person (Exodus 22:25–27)." The GOP would vote it down. It would also make them say out loud that you can't use the Bible to legislate. It would prove that it isn't about biblical principles at all. It's just about being hateful and ignorant.

This is ridiculous, adult should have a choice on how to live their life. I bet they did not condemn all priests who raped kids from that floor.

Please someone hammer her with Timothy 2:12-13.

Christian nazis are the abominations. Ignorant, backwards and primitive, bigoted and racist, gutless, consumed by imaginary demons, low empathy and selfish, incredibly arrogant. Self-serving and with no redeemable social value what so ever. Evolutions greatest failure.

Arkansas is trying to give Texas and Tennessee a run for their money in the "Xian Nationalist Batshit Crazy" race.

A Christian theocracy is truly a frightening prospect

They’re working very hard to make it a reality.

It's pretty much inevitable at this point. Unfortunately enough Americans want this (or don't care) that led it to this place. It will resemble middle-east style theocracies very soon; probably less than a decade away. It's too late to do anything now.

Not less than a decade, it is still going to take longer. The one thing that would prevent it is that the non-religious need to be far more aggressive with demonstrating the dangers to the moderates. The modern, religious “lite” people need to be shown, directly, patiently but without hesitation and without any punches pulled, all of the ways in which the religious have 1) usurped the secular laws for religious benefit [allowed to discriminate for example] and 2) the damage that those actions have caused. Moderates just think the extreme religious are “kooks” and “weirdos.” Too many of them do not realize that the fanatics are waging a war on secular society. They need to wake up and we have to be getting in their faces about it.

And she is still a state legislature? This is what is fundamentally wrong with this country. It allows our government to use the bible to govern, even though we are supposed to have church/state separation. What a bunch of hogwash!

Well, when you invest decades in radically changing people’s priorities, and get them to WANT to ignore the separation of church and state, then you get to cheat and the people thank you.

I know, and I still ask why every single day. I think because I have such a hard time coming to grips with the undeniable fact that the religious right, which is a minority, carries so much weight in the making of our laws, and what "We the People" actually stands for. Once upon a time, when I had facebook, an acquaintance thought I was a fine person indeed, right up until I pointed out all of the issues with having religion in schools, which she was a proponent of. I was polite, stated facts (of which don't matter) and was promptly 'unfriended'. It cracked me up. A friend who also knew her saw that she wanted to be with "Like minded people". That scares the crap out of me, because if people cannot even bear to hear an opposing opinion, which is now the malignant tumor infecting this country, then Democracy as we know it is surely lost.

We non-religious have to become FAR FAR more aggressive in campaigning against religious influence in govt and public policy. Moderates need to be shown how dangerous and harmful it is. They just shrug it off.

I've mentioned this before but there is a reason for this and it has nothing to do with being trans. This verse, as interpreted by Christian preachers fucked me up for decades. According to Rabbi Tilsen "The intent of the law, in this view, is to prevent men and women from associating with what would normally be a single-sex group of the other gender under false pretenses for purposes of, or in circumstances that are liable to lead to, heterosexual adultery. Rashi seems to limit the prohibition to this case. Thus men and women cross-dressing in other circumstances might not be prohibited, at least if it can be assured that the "abhorrence" will not result. This is the analysis followed by the Shulhan Arukh, the 16th century law code that has become a standard law text for most of the traditionally observant Jewish people. In its discussion of the laws of the festival of Purim (OH 696:8), the Code says men and women may cross dress on Purim because it is for the purpose of gaity (simha), not for adultery. Given the context, there is no danger that such cross-dressing will lead to heterosexual adultery. The danger of "cross-dressing," according to the analysis followed here by Rashi and the Shulhan Arukh, is that it might allow men to enter women's groups and women to enter men's groups. In societies in which gender segregation was widely observed, this subterfuge was seen as a real danger. This was even before the production of "Yentl." It is stated this way in Sefer HaHinukh: "The root of this mitzva (commandment) is to keep us from sexual sin...and there is no doubt that if men and women's clothing were the same, they would mix and the earth would be filled with impropriety" (§ 564). Today the concern would be that men or women would sneak into the other gender's locker rooms or bath rooms. Given that men and women in our society mix freely in other settings, it is hard to see how heterosexual adultery is a particular danger of what is called "cross dressing."

Hey, people used to do the exact same thing about "those colored people" too! What a coincidence.

I seriously think we should stop being civilized and give them what they want. A war. And we shouldn't have limits on how we fight to keep their outdated ideas where they belong, in the past. They dehumanize people and cause so much pain and misery to a lot of people just because they REFUSE to have empathy and put themselves in other people's shoes. I myself would kill a bunch of them if I had the means. That's ethical terrorism. Destroying superstition and bad decisions with logic, even if it means to literally kill these disgraceful motherfuckers.

When I grow up I’ll host an experiment testing the iq of 1000 religious people and 1000 atheists proving that we are smarter than them

Woohoo another day of me being an abomination!

Did someone tell the all lives matter crew about this?

This end times murder cult full of people who call themselves “Christians” relies entirely too much on a Middle Eastern Religion when attempting to pass laws here in America. No one is interested in your Sky Daddy. Stop raping the fucking children you twats!

I would take a bet that this stupid person has met trans people and was not aware of it. The fear of the other or unknown is strong in these lower life forms.

As a trans woman from the early 80s this reminds me of my childhood!😂 Hail Satan.

WOW, just WOW, this is the very reason that bible thumps should NEVER be allowed into politics....Fuk you Republicans...disgusting behavior

She looks to be wearing multiple types of cloth. Sad

What was the verse?

This is a great example of why people hate religious zealots, and why religion is losing respect across the globe.

Fucking disgusting.

Ahhh yes… maybe we should do something about all these “abominations”… like take all the gays and transgender folks and relocate them to a camp, away from society… I mean we can’t have them tainting our gene pool… heck, why don’t they throw gypsies in there too! They’re barely human! /s

What a shock, its exactly the bitch I expected.

Yeah, you're either pro evolution or pro Bible. Can't be both with a straight face.

Translation: you’re either educated and intellectually honest, or you’re ignorant or pandering.

>A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man ...says the woman wearing a man's jacket.

As a Christian this makes me sad and angry. The Old Testament is old for a reason. Jesus was a radical in his time and is a radical today. Following his (or the author’s of the gospels) teachings makes you a threat in this country (US). Especially to those in power who weaponize the Bible. God forbid you let someone live their life in peace and enjoy this reality.

Jesus said “neither a jot nor a tittle of the law shall be changed” Old shmold, he still made it clear all the old testament’s rules still apply. Also: “tittle” :)

America is unfortunately very Christian biased.

Meanwhile she's sliding on some dudes pole, while her husband records it for their Onlyfans site.

Only small minded people with inferior complex would bring people around them down in order to feel superior.

In a fictional world... "Arkansas cisgendered citizen who isn't a total douche quotes the First Amendment to point out how Arkansas Republican's behavior is abominable."

Deut 22:5

I like that this has a wholesome award. Redditors being redditors you know?
