Why my Safari didn’t automatically clear history after 1 day? Macbook Air M2. Latest update + restart the mac
Has anyone else had the noise notifications on watch / health be wrong? I apparently got a loud noise notification yesterday that says it was louder at physical therapy than it was when I was at a concert in a stadium a few weeks ago, which can’t be possible.
Is there a way to block text messages from another iPhone user, but not FaceTime calls? Or is there a way to forward FaceTime requests to a different Apple account that does not have a phone number, only an Apple ID?
You can disable your number from being used for FaceTime in FaceTime settings, and only set it to activate from your email.
Which month do Apple usually release new Iphones? With the Iphone8 and totally sure I need a new phone. Not sure how long I can wait this out
September
Thats not bad. I think I can wait it out then.
If you delete a text on your iPhone does it also delete in your iCloud? Or will the texts come back if I back up my phone with my most recent iCloud backup? Thanks!
Installed the new update on iPhone 13 Pro and my phone has been overheating when playing YouTube. Anyone else get this?
I’m looking to replace my 10 year laptop that has officially died on me and am looking for advice for what to get next. As someone who will be dealing with RAW files to edit on the likes of Lightroom and Photoshop, and maybe Premier I was looking at the MacBook Pro 14” with 16GB memory and 512GB SSD (with the M1 Pro chip as opposed to M2 pro to save a few hundred.) Is this the right choice for me? Should I look at upgrading to 1TB SSD? I have a TB drive already and will be constantly backing up files on there.
Yea MBP 14 is a good pick for this, given you’ve been doing you work on a decade old machine, this new one will absolutely fly.
I’d recommend considering a memory upgrade to 32gb. 16gb can be a bit low for graphics/photo work depending on the images you’re working with. 32gb will also help future proof the machine for a few years (if that’s important to you). As far as storage goes, it’s always convenient to have lots of internal storage, but external is much cheaper and can be added at any time.
Any word on the MacBook Air 15”?
Rumors suggest an April 2023 release. But… it’s all rumors. The product isn’t real unless it’s officially released.
So nothing new. Cool.

Yes. He would need an Apple ID, and you would have to share your subscription via [Family Sharing](https://www.apple.com/family-sharing/). Once completed, you can watch shows on http://tv.apple.com on any laptop.
you could also just log into your account on his devices but you’d have to make sure you both weren’t watching at the same time
Hey all! 14" MBP or Studio? My 2017 tbMBP sits clamshell 99% of the time running dual monitors, 4 external drives and audio interface via Caldigit TB3+ dock and my business is video/photo so the editing/render is killing me here. Hoping to upgrade very soon! 14" MBP - $3099 w/ M2 Max(30core GPU) 32gb RAM, 1tb SSD vs Mac Studio - $2399 w/ M1 Max(32core GPU) 32gb RAM, 1tb SSD I rarely edit on the go except for maybe dumping cards or posting on a trip(doesn't happen often at all but would like to start travel video more, though likely wouldn't edit until back home so I just would use to dump onto a drive while traveling) Is it worth getting the M2 over the M1 and having the ability for a screen if I go mobile or will I get better value from the Studio? I also have an 11" iPad pro fwiw so I'm not giving up my only mobile device that isn't a phone if I go desktop.
How important is HDMI 2.1 to you? Because the M2 has two main advantages over the M1: it’s a small percentage faster, and it supports HDMI 2.1 (in Pro and higher configurations). The M2’s base drive configuration is also slower than the M1’s base drive configuration, but if you’re going to be editing video, you’re probably not going to buy the base drive configuration (and it’s not that big a difference, anyway). Otherwise, if you’re going to use your laptop like it’s a desktop, I’d just buy the Studio, or the M2 mini.
Currently my main screen is a 4k running off DisplayPort via the TB3 connection between the dock and laptop, my second is a 1080p screen running from miniDP-HDMI cable from the dock. I plan to upgrade my second screen to a matching 4K. I may get a third as a small(32"ish) TV for editing purposes that would run from HDMI but nothing crazy and the others can run off whatever as long as I get a clean and 4K signal so likely TB4-DP/HDMI cables for those. I'll look at the mini, I hadn't given it much thought, and apparently missed the Studio announcement or didn't look into it at the time though I'm usually very appraised on Apple news which is why I was looking at those as well. \*Just looked at the mini, it seems like it would be handicapped compared to either other option wouldn't it? Is the M2 Pro even with 2/3 the GPU cores going to best the M1 configs above? It comes in at $2199 with 32gb RAM and 1tb SSD to match my other options.
Then HDMI 2.1 isn’t important to you, so the Studio will probably be the computer for you. However, you will need a Pro or Max APU anyway, because the base M1 and base M2 APUs max out at running two displays at once.
The model I had configured was the Studio with M1 Max 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU and 16-core NE.
I know Im a minority here, but I love the butterfly keyboard I have an old 2017 12in Macbook, and I absolutely love the keyboard The machine is super underpowered, so I don't use it much, as I have a desktop pc, and I use an Apple keyboard with it, which is great But I see myself coming back to the macbook just to type things, just because I really like the short key travel of the keyboard Saw a while back some rumors of an [Apple concept of a new version of the keyboard, with a touchbar and butterfly keys](https://9to5mac.com/2016/11/01/magic-keyboard-with-touch-bar-concept/) (or at least I think it was going to be with butterfly switches) But that never happened Does anyone know of any external keyboard that uses butterfly switches? Im guessing there's not because it must be something Apple patented long ago, but, worth a shot
Nope they’re never doing that again. It’s an unreliable mechanism that resulted in a repair program and class action lawsuits. It’s a fair point if you enjoy typing on it but at the end of the day it’s not as reliable as scissor switches and the amount of failures was just too high.
There aren’t any. I liked them, too, but the media and the general public hated them, so they ended as a failed experiment.
:(
Hey guys, this might be an odd question about a store and taking forever to return my property but I broke my ipad pretty bad beginning of this month, screen smashed and had a small existing crack in top of housing but I didn't worry about the 2nd thing much since the screen itself still stayed inside the ipad frame so for the most part I was just looking for a screen replacement. I sent my ipad in mail to a store to get a diagnosis on the 8th and they received it on 9th He phoned me up and qouted it not only needed a screen placement but he wouldn't do it without fixing the housing as well (an extra 250+ ish that I wasn't expecting to pay) and on top of that said the camera needed fixing as well (I didn't particularly notice any cracks in the camera when I sent it off) at this point - although I could believe the housing thing I just felt like he was trying to make a profit listing a bunch of random faults. I said to him in that case if he won't fix just the screen that I would pay postage for him to return the broken ipad to me and he said ok he'll send an invoice. 2 days passed since then and no invoice, I phoned and he said he'd send the invoice and hung up (seemed rude but whatever) So I paid the invoice on the 11th, no ipad after a few days (the shipping service is typically one day for special delivery) so I again phoned him on thursday the 16th now 5 days later, he said sorry that he couldn't access post office and would send it off same day. I said okay no problem thanks. its now the Tuesday 21st and still didn't get anything. I understand if you are a small business and cannot make it to post office at a moments notice but its now been 10 days since I paid the invoice and nothing and already phoned them multiple times. Am I being impatient or is he being weird? What would you do? Thanks
I hope you didn’t sign a contract with them that included an arbitration agreement, because I’d talk to a lawyer if this goes on for much longer.
Sign a contract? no, I just paid an invoice for return of my item thats it
Good. Sometimes even the threat of legal action will make those people hurry up.
So at this moment with it being 5 days ago I phoned them when they said they'd send it off, do you think I should wait another day or phone them now and ask for tracking/proof of postage? I'm not really sure where to begin with legal action to be honest, or if I should just write a formal letter and send it to them
Talk to a lawyer. I am not a lawyer, and only a lawyer can give you legal advice on how to resolve your dispute.
Would anyone have any idea why an iPhone 14 promax would have to be powered on into restore mode (volume up, down, power button) for it to actually turn on? Placed it on MagSafe charger last night and this morning it was off and pressing the power button wasn’t doing anything.
Think it’s some sort of software glitch in iOS 16. Something happened to my friends iPad Air and it worked just fine every since.
