The Lycoris Recoil thread was talking about the absurdity of the fake names the MC's give for their mission, and then this shows busts out "Sharon Holygrail."
I'm with Ayano, really wondering about that Chaste title.
As Ayano said, "What part of her is chaste?"
Thats one hell of a last name. I bet some magicians are out there fighting for her with their summoned Servants.
Holy fuck Shu really slept with a sister just to poison her and he only just relearnt about it. This man's on a fucking mission.
I can't get over how ridiculous Sharon looks in that demonic bio mech suit especially when she's still wearing her sister headgear. Kisara straight up using the term Netorare to taunt her too, truly a demon.
>This man's on a fucking mission.
He sure likes to play sidequests though...
It's pretty clear now that Shu intends to see his mission through to his death whether he succeeds or not, either literally or figuratively if Kisara drains all his memories and he ends up nothing but an empty shell with "Shu" no longer existing.
At some level you gotta admire that determination. It also adds to the grey feeling of Shu and whether his relationships meant anything or not, or if he was just using them. Which is hard to know since he keeps losing memories no matter what.
I think it’s implied that he cared about Ayano because of how he pushed her away when he decided to go down this road.
His opinion of Kisara is more nebulous. He seems to be willing to use her powers but is resisting her romantic overtures, possibly because he’s unwilling to intentionally use that to manipulate her.
Also as Ayano remembered, Shu always made sure to clean up any of her mistakes without telling her, which one time made him late for their anniversary
everyone knows you got to do the side quests to get true end
>Thats one hell of a last name. I bet some magicians are out there fighting for her with their summoned Servants.
The naming style actually reminded me of A Certain Magical Index lol.
>Holy fuck Shu really slept with a sister just to poison her and he only just relearnt about it. This man's on a fucking mission.
He probably wouldn't have poisoned Sharon if she allowed Kisara to live.
Like Sharon said, how he used her to get what she wants, that makes him just like her, since she wanted to stab him with that knife eventually during when they were having sex, but she never got the chance, since he poisoned her first.
> The naming style actually reminded me of A Certain Magical Index lol.
Index has character names like Stephanie Gorgeouspalace, so yeah.
>Thats one hell of a last name. I bet some magicians are out there fighting for her with their summoned Servants.
One hell of a name indeed. I am happy that I am not the only one who thought about Fate xD.
>I can't get over how ridiculous Sharon looks in that demonic bio mech suit especially when she's still wearing her sister headgear.
Maruto Sensei asked the staff to adhere to Sharon's dress code:
[She can't remove her headgear except for "bed", it's the doctrine of the church.](https://twitter.com/F_Maruto_staff/status/1558483225705455617?t=zg9lkEmxml2zmtIk3lV9rQ&s=19)
>She can't remove her headgear except for "bed", since it's the doctrine of the church.
But do let her get a demonoid tentacle mech suit tho, cuz that's definitely the doctrine of my kind of church
>But do let her get a demonoid mech suit tho
Don't be judgemental! Sister has to wear the suit to conduct her Holy Duties, and exterminate demons!
>the doctrine of ~~my kind of church~~ Maruto Sensei's kind of church! We are devoted followers, my brother!
On that note...
[AYO, WHERE T*HAT ONE* TENTACLE GOIN?!?](https://i.imgur.com/VTamrQl.jpeg)
> AYO, WHERE THAT ONE TENTACLE GOIN?!?
To the AT-X version, of course.
to connect to the power source of course!
I chuckled at her last name. The tech suit was also a bit much lol doesn't that go against what the Abbey does, by using demons?
Shuu will literally do anything. Has he lost sight of what he really wants though? Why couldn't he answer Kisara when she was asking...
>Shuu will literally do anything. Has he lost sight of what he really wants though? Why couldn't he answer Kisara when she was asking...
Because he knows those answers won't be enough to please Kisara.
"I would rather die if I had to kiss any other demon other than you." sounds 100 times sweeter. Now Kisara is completely alright with being used by Shu.
The man is a master at manipulating girls's heart to get what he wants.
Ahhh yes yes thank you that makes a lot of sense. Shuu is a savage
But big props to Shu for coming to save Kisara as soon as he awakes, any minute later and Kisara is done for.
What puzzles me is how did he manage to find Kisara so quickly as the meeting location should have only been known to Kisara.
Good point - maybe he knows where she is because of their contract?
But Shu wasn't able to find Kisara in the previous episode when she ghosted him, or maybe he just did not bother to try?
Edit: I went back to rewatch and Sharon commented on Kisara's SNS account, so that is probably where Shu got the information from.
>The tech suit was also a bit much lol doesn't that go against what the Abbey does, by using demons?
Its basically like in Tokyo Ghoul. Remember the suits made from ghouls?
>Shuu will literally do anything. Has he lost sight of what he really wants though? Why couldn't he answer Kisara when she was asking...
I guess the trauma of losing memories makes him hesitate and he also wants to tell her something that'll keep her happy.
I never finished Tokyo Ghoul :( but I'm guessing they just used them for the "greater good" of eliminating Ghouls
yup, pretty much and that's what Sharon did in this episode
>The tech suit was also a bit much lol doesn't that go against what the Abbey does, by using demons?
A violent zealot being hypocritical? Color me shocked. Honestly IMO she has had a smug hypocritical air to her from the start so it wasn't really surprising.
seems okay to murk the demon first then use their power instead of working with them ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
>This man's on a fucking mission.
He's a man of focus, commitment and sheer FUCKIN' will.
Dang I missed that. Had to go back and she really does say it at around 14:55. I only noticed at 19:53 when Sharon calls Kisara a menhera.
In Shu's defence, he was up against an inhuman killing machine that could apparently take on an entire city's worth of human cops and win easily.
In Sharon's case, she was feeling horny.
Also, I'm not sure if Shu would have slept with Sharon if she was ugly. ... that might also be why he kisses Kisara and not other demon's, looking at all the other demon's so far, I don't want to kiss them either, the only kissable one so far is Kisara lol.
> I bet some magicians are out there fighting for her with their summoned Servants.
Nah, if anything she's due for having her illusions destroyed by a spiky-haired high school student you can find anywhere.
She deadass called her a cuck in the original Japanese, the translation missed it
> Holy fuck Shu really slept with a sister just to poison her and he only just relearnt about it. This man's on a fucking mission.
Am I to understand he laced a condom with the poison?
A-1 Saturdays continue!
[Damn Shuu bold as hell for poisoning Sharon during sex lmao](https://imgur.com/a/O0IXo3q)
[God Bless A-1](https://imgur.com/a/n3vlWyc)
[Best kiss physics in the industry](https://imgur.com/a/lmO8kmN)
Really good episode overall. Kisara definitely beat the hell out of sharon but given she’s human that was to be expected. Now that the cat-fight’s out of the way, looking forward to learning more about the demon hazard. Will probably take all the harem coming together to take on that threat. Just hope my baby ayano don’t get left behind in all this.
>[God Bless A-1](https://imgur.com/a/n3vlWyc)
From long socks to slimey tentacles on a "pure sister" Maruto is clearly letting his inner eroge-writer out in full force.
I'm pretty sure we went through allll the tags today. From netorare to tentacles to drugs to domination loss lol. This was a wild episode.
I love how Shu and Sharon were going at it and she was about to kill him before he knocked her out. Although it sounds like the sex was still great.
We eating good tonight with a full nun strip scene (emphasis on the stockings) and bare Sharon ass as well as some passionate kissing animation.
I guess we know what the final boss is going to be.
> the sex was still great.
He took her to the ninth cloud brother.
>a full nun strip scene (emphasis on the stockings) and bare Sharon ass as well as some passionate kissing animation.
As I said last week, Maruto sensei and A1 are blessing us with tights, legs, and a hot nun striping down and removing her stocks.
[This show is the manifestation of his fetishes.](https://twitter.com/F_Maruto_staff/status/1555946959088758784)
>As I said last week, Maruto sensei and A1 are blessing us with tights, legs, and a hot nun striping down and removing her stocks.
All of these are prime r/thighdeology material lol.
I wonder if he started the teaching of thighdeology! Nobody embody it more than Maruto Sensei xD.
I wonder if he's lurking that subreddit! It can inspire his cultured work lol.
A-1 is NOT holding back this season, both LycoReco and this anime are impressive in their own right.
Well, this anime is impressive with the "eye-catching" scenes and "innovative" romance. Glad it's not as shallow? as the first episode led most people to believe so far.
>Well, this anime is impressive with the "eye-catching" scenes and "innovative" romance. Glad it's not as shallow?
Ever since EP3, the show just ramped up to a whole other level for me. On Saturdays, I used to care for Lycoris more, but now its both of them. Good action and entertaining characters are keeping me very happy.
yep the animation has always been crazy, but the plot was very mid for the first/second episode but it gets going eventually and now I'm genuinely interested in what's going on. I couldn't say that very early on lol
I love that they are both originals and doing so well too - amazing work A-1
> Well, this anime is impressive with the "eye-catching" scenes and "innovative" romance.
Name another anime where the MC poisoned his dick to incapacitate someone!
I knew with Maruto involved that the show would be able to deliver on the romance and fanservice in an engaging way (pardon the pun), and I'm glad to see my faith rewarded!
MC putting poison on his dick in order to incapacitate the woman he's having sex with. Engage Kiss just won Anime folks.
I was wondering where the fuck he put the poison lol. I guess that makes the most sense
* [Mecha Suit Sharon](https://i.imgur.com/tnKXmUj.jpg)
* [Damaged Mecha Suit Sharon](https://i.imgur.com/YC15Cs6.jpg)
[Her name is Sharon Holygrail!?](https://i.imgur.com/7oqkBhP.png) Well apparently, my comparison last week to her being a Type-Moon character is even closer than I expected. xD
[Kisara describing her past encounter with Sharin](https://i.imgur.com/e7pAXg4.png) and Shuu with the two of them forcefully pinning her down and penetrating her got me laughing out loud! [Kisara clearly knows what she's doing with the phrases that she chose](https://i.imgur.com/I56b0Ee.png) while explaining that encounter to Ayano. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Shuu you magnificent bastard! So the reason he was able to take Kisara from Sharon all those years ago is that [he used a neurotoxin](https://i.imgur.com/vjvxpgn.png) on her [while he slept with her](https://i.imgur.com/2VjeSDb.png) to temporarily put her out of commission. I imagine he coated a condom with that neurotoxin? Also for someone who's called Sharon the Chaste, she lives up to the opposite of her name. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
So now to defeat Kisara, [Sharon is using some sort of demon-powered tentacle mecha suit](https://i.imgur.com/NekFf9O.png) since conventional weapons are ineffective against her The armor [really worked well against Kisara](https://i.imgur.com/JjVUNTj.png) so you really can't argue against the results. If Shuu didn't arrive to save her, Kisara probably would've died already,
[I wonder how much of that was true.](https://i.imgur.com/DVNVeDT.png) Shuu definitely hates demons but it seems that he's attracted enough to Kisara that even if he hates them, he'd still kiss her. On the other hand, Shuu's desire for revenge is probably stronger than his hatred of demons that he's willing to kiss one if it means eradicating the rest of them. Hmmm...
[That final scene though.](https://i.imgur.com/uvKgcPb.png) So the reason Sharon is even here in the first place is not just because of Kisara. Something big is about to happen and the Church thinks they're the only ones that can stop it? Welp, I'm excited to see what this Demon Hazard that she's warning them about.
>Mecha Suit Sharon
Gotta love the boob armor and that she totally has the chest for it.
>Damaged Mecha Suit Sharon
I envy the officers who got to arrest her like this.
>Her name is Sharon Holygrail!? Well apparently, my comparison last week to her being a Type-Moon character is even closer than I expected. xD
Really fitting for a devout religious fanatic.
>Kisara describing her past encounter with Sharin and Shuu with the two of them forcefully pinning her down and penetrating her got me laughing out loud! Kisara clearly knows what she's doing with the phrases that she chose while explaining that encounter to Ayano. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Kisara's mind goes to some naughty places.
>Shuu you magnificent bastard! So the reason he was able to take Kisara from Sharon all those years ago is that he used a neurotoxin on her while he slept with her to temporarily put her out of commission. I imagine he coated a condom with that neurotoxin? Also for someone who's called Sharon the Chaste, she lives up to the opposite of her name. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I love how Shu and Sharon actually knocked boots but she was about to kill him during sex before he basically knocked her out with his dick (literally). That was amazing.
Dat "Chaste" ass though. I guess I'm glad Shu got to enjoy his time with Sharon, even if it was to trick her.
>So now to defeat Kisara, Sharon is using some sort of demon-powered tentacle mecha suit since conventional weapons are ineffective against her The armor really worked well against Kisara so you really can't argue against the results. If Shuu didn't arrive to save her, Kisara probably would've died already,
I guess I can't say I'm surprised we got to see a nun lady strip down to wear a powered armor powered by demon tentacles. Feels very on-brand for this show.
>I wonder how much of that was true. Shuu definitely hates demons but it seems that he's attracted enough to Kisara that even if he hates them, he'd still kiss her. On the other hand, Shuu's desire for revenge is probably stronger than his hatred of demons that he's willing to kiss one if it means eradicating the rest of them. Hmmm...
I guess it's nice to see that Shu doesn't hate Kisara or is repulsed by her, but like Sharon said he has a bad habit of using the women in his life...other than Ayano, which I guess is still something she has that his other love interests don't.
>That final scene though. So the reason Sharon is even here in the first place is not just because of Kisara. Something big is about to happen and the Church thinks they're the only ones that can stop it? Welp, I'm excited to see what this Demon Hazard that she's warning them about.
I guess we know about the final boss now.
> other than Ayano
No, I think that he did use her too. He used her to get close to her mother so her mom could train him. Then he dumped her and her moms company as soon as he freed Kisara.
Ayano asked him if that was the case and he denied it, because her mom tried to force him to break up with Ayano or she'd fire him and he wouldn't do it.
>Well apparently, my comparison last week to her being a Type-Moon character is even closer than I expected. xD
Well, religious nut hellbent on killing demons is in line with homicidal, mapo tofu loving priest I guess.
How about the curry-loving nun?
>Kisara describing her past encounter with Sharon and Shuu with the two of them forcefully pinning her down and penetrating her got me laughing out loud! Kisara clearly knows what she's doing with the phrases that she chose while explaining that encounter to Ayano. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
🤣 That part is worthy of shows like Darling in the Franxx. Then again, that series was also produced by A-1....
>Sharon the Chaste, she lives up to the opposite of her name. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Now I could be splitting hair here, but the actual words used literally means "pure and clean", chaste is just the contextual meaning. Didn't have to be read that way - so long as she washes after :P
I was really interested in Kisara's line of questioning about Shu's motive. It could just be curiosity but I also think she really wants Shu to remain Shu and not turn into some husk as a result of losing too many memories. Knowing his true motivations might give her more guidance about which memories to leave and which to take, in the interest of preserving his mission.
In the version i watched Shu said "I'd rather die than kiss a demon *who's not you*" which seems to make way more sense lol.
Shuu definitely likes Kisara to a certain extent, but views her primarily as a tool. I can't wait to see where they end up.
I think the Demon Hazard she mentioned is Kisara. She said she still has 2 transformations left, meaning this isn't her final, most powerful form by far. Purely speculation of course, but i think it would be cool!
Uhhhh dick poison? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
After two episodes of Ayano dominance, Kisara finally makes her comeback against the newcomer! It's confirmed that Shu really was a playboy before his memory loss. After episodes of Sharon's sadistic smirk and ass-kicking, it was so refreshing to see her getting onee-up'ed in bed.
Glad someone called out how chuuni this church was! And the cops actually blushing at Sharon's naked body was just icing on the cake.
Screaming Goat Coffee? These brand parodies are getting out of hand.
>Glad someone called out how chuuni this church was!
That cop guy was so relatable lmao. Just hearing "Living Relic" and "Excorsists" spoken in Japanglish makes me cringe so much. High school me would definitely think they are cool and unironically say those phrases in the broken ass English.
Saying the phrases in the broken English are so fun to do though!
I don't trust Mikami, but him admitting to being a Chuuni was a nice character moment.
And when he turned away from Sharon's naked body after the found her was cute.
Staring would just be rude.
> It's confirmed that Shu really was a playboy before his memory loss.
Shuu's harem is hardcore. It takes everything from his body and mind to handle them.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of people were shifting to Ayano's side (and falling for Sharon's "chaste" charms) so it was good to see Kisara get the spotlight and re-affirm her and Shu's relationship, messed up as it is. But it seems like Shu does care about her in her own way.
Shu is one lucky dog. Not everyday you get to bed a nun and knock her out during sex before she can kill you. Totally worth it though. Poor Ayano is desperate to know just how many women he's been with before (and after) her.
Lucky officers getting to arrest a practically naked and busty woman.
As far as Starbucks parodies go, that's one got to be one of the more amusing ones.
Despite her role as a stepping stone for Kisara's development, Sharon has truly been a joy to watch. Maruto nailed the sexy badass character with her. Part of the fun with her was trying to decipher her feelings from her limited facial expressions, which switches between indifference and sadistic smirking while she beat the crap out of her opponents with the occasional annoyance.
Ugh, women. They try to kill you and then get violent when they feel cucked.
I swear I saw a Starfucks recently, but I can't remember where.
I definitely get the sense her feelings or attraction to Shu were genuine, which is why Kisara ticks her off so much, even though she's still loyal to the church and her mission.
She was a few moments away from stabbing Shu during their make out, I doubt there were any feelings other than physical attraction.
Well Shu did say the mission was more important to Sharon so I guess she felt killing Shu would allow her to focus on the mission.
The fact she went straight to Shu and Kisara is that there is a mission but at the same time getting even with her former lover.
Yeah. Her annoyance and aggression at Kisara's accusation is telling. But without the cringe, violent tsundere antics that usually accompany this sort of behavior, it made me doubt a little.
>Despite her role as a stepping stone for Kisara's development, Sharon has truly been a joy to watch.
I think we'll see a lot more of her. She's in a lot of the promotional material, so I doubt she's done just yet.
And yes, her thighs are a joy to watch
Shuu was just a man on a mission! Although now I'm not even sure if he knows what he wants to do anymore...Revenge? Clear the family name? Get his sister back? I wonder why he couldn't answer Kisara
So why was Sharon planning to stab Shu to death with a dagger in the middle of sex...? And why were they having sex in the first place...?
Damn I love this show.
>So why was Sharon planning to stab Shu to death with a dagger in the middle of sex...? And why were they having sex in the first place...?
I'm guessing Shuu wanted to save Kisara, but that made him to disagree with Sharon, as she wanted to kill her.
That's why she prepared the knife to kill him, but Shuu managed to outsmart her and poison her through sex, before she had the chance to do it.
As for the sex itself, sometimes...it just happens, but here they both had different motives behind it.
It's likely and funny that they both had the same motive per-say in terms of incapacitating the other. Sharon likely was using Sex to give her an opening to stab Shu in the back. But Shu was one step ahead and prepared his special "concoction" to paralyze her just in time.
Shu's got big brains alright lol.
More like a con-cock-tion.
Sharon is an inhuman killing machine that could kill Shu any time she wanted.
She was just feeling horny lol
>Sharon is an inhuman killing machine that could kill Shu any time she wanted.
>She was just feeling horny lol
I get the feeling Shu was a much more capable fighter before losing his memories.
Apparently Shu’s dad was the strongest exorcist. Sharon is capable of running up the side of a building and it was stated that she would wipe easily wipe out an army, though.
I thik the sexjust happens bit is a big reason why we need more shows that have adult protagonists. Having acutal adults as the main characters just adds an extra dynamic lacking in so many other shows
Yeah, she probably got an inkling that Shu was planning to take Kisara and run and under the orders of the church had to kill him...although she also probably wanted to enjoy him in bed before she ended him, which didn't turn out so well.
>So why was Sharon planning to stab Shu to death with a dagger in the middle of sex...?
That part reminded me of Basic Instinct for some reason ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I seriously doubt the name Sharon was randomly chosen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Now that you mentioned it, you may be on to something! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Definitely looks a long-haired [Sharon Stone](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3c/Sharon_Stone_%2833374127422%29_%28cropped%29.jpg/1280px-Sharon_Stone_%2833374127422%29_%28cropped%29.jpg)
Someone do your Photoshop magic on [this](https://i.imgur.com/tnKXmUj.jpg)...
FUCK YES! Seeing Kisara turn the tables on Sharon was so damn satisfying to watch!
The amount of attention put into Kiss scenes in this anime is mind blowing!
Good Job Maruto Sensei!
A show called "Engage Kiss" has got to have some engaging and passionate kiss scenes.
I feel like such a degenerate but I'm a sucker for the spit lines - adds intensity!
Pretty sure the kiss scenes alone have more budget than the final few episodes of Spider Isekai.
This show really reminds me of Season 1 and 2 of Index. With agents from magic side constantly infiltrating Academic City lol.
Fingers crossed that Engage Kiss doesn't end up like Index Season 3 then 💀
Great episode and fight scene, but tbh there's still some stuff that needs further clarification:
* How was Shu able to remember small bits about Sharon? I hope Kisara's memory-sucking mechanic gets explored more cuz we're not seeing the whole picture yet.
* Does Shu actually have feelings for Kisara? His statement seemed to convince her in the moment but I'm still getting Ayanokoji vibes from him based on what Sharon and Ayano said so far.
* So uhh, Ayano got her phone back right???
I wasn't sure if something is leaking Shu's memories back into him or if it was an instinctual memory of Sharon.
I don't think he has a deep love for Kisara, but he's attracted to her and cares about her in his own way even if some of that is mixed in with his lack of memories and need of her for his mission.
Pretty sure he develops feelings for kisara right now also given his slightly changing behaviour towards her since ep5. Sure his sentence can just be understood that he is bearing with her but 'I would rather die than kissing any other demon' definitely has a romantic touch in it imo.
And yea shu seemingly remembering something which was supposed to be taken makes me suspicious that the contract has some kind of secret like him actually getting something back once he develops feelings for his demon contractor, kisara was also implying she has another transformation which makes me wonder if it's a more powerful form tied to pure love
I think the easiest guess would be that kisara is succubus th dream demon. That would explain price to pay and his reaccuring dreams. I would imagine 2nd transformation would be something like draining his soul.
I also think contract is much more than we think, we had multiple times when both shuu and kisara seem to know where another one is or what is other person feeling, I would imagine it would be something like feeling each other life pulse.
Him regaining bit of his memories would be each secret part of contract that both are unaware off or memories "flowing backwards" like kisara rejecting him and him "draining" her both would be interesting imo.
I wonder if demons are related to this resource that is mined from the city , thats why demon invasions are so frequent there (there are either gateway or a resource from demon world . Also this spear that shuu sister was pierced by seems to be weapon/device with portal to demon world, I wonder if 2nd demon hazard will be shuu little sister comming back in corrupted demon form and him killing her by sacrificing rest of his memeories to unlock kisara 2nd form
It's very Doom for resources being mined to result in a demon invasion.
Coming into the episode, I have already guessed the title "It's okay, it's fine" is a reference to Kisara's thoughts on being manipulated by Shu. Sadly, I was proven right. The girl loves him so much that she doesn't mind being made used of. Kisara really does have a severe case of 'Renai Nou'.
Kisara mentions that she still has two more transformation, but we have only seen one so far. Guess Maruto sensei is saving the last transformation for the big play.
What can be worse than having one yandere? Having two super powered yandere battle.
Sharon wants to kill Kisara because she knows that Kisara only kills demons not because of her own ideology but out of love for Shu. Will Kisara revert back into a D-Hazard once Shu is gone? I don't think so, but apparently the nun does.
I also snickered when Sharon called Kisara a 'nutcase'. As if she is any better.
Shu using neurotoxin as lube to incapacitate Sharon during their sex has to be the funniest thing ever. This is the kind of romcom that will sit above all the rest for me.
It will be interesting to see what the coming demon mentioned by Sharon in the ending scene will be. My guess is that it will be Kana.
>"Every other woman can be destroyed"
Wow, Kisara. Just calm down, but, on the other hand, don't calm down when you are such a badass!!.
I like how she said out loud that she has no regrets if Shuu is going to deceive her until he dies, because she is the one who made him like that and causing his downfall. I was a bit unsure on her before, but now I'm all in with this episode.
>"Every other woman can be destroyed"
I laughed when Sharon called Kisara a nutcase after she said that. As if Sharon is any better.
Sharon is only better by degrees of yanderation. She’s not outright consuming Shuu’s sense of self.
She is outright trying to end his life. Once with the knife when they were on bed and another time with her tentacles mid-battle with Kisara.
Kisara is basically consuming him and keeping him alive in the process. To me, that's far worst than Sharon's brand of crazy. She even admits to turning him into this monster, which insinuates that he wasn't always like this.
What's a better death? A waking one not even remembering what keeps you alive (Kisara) or just being dead (Sharon)
The big difference is that Kisara is doing it as **requested by Shuu** because he needs her powers. Kisara is reluctant to drain Shu off his memories, but she does it because she respects his desire to save his little sister and to clear his family name.
In episode 3, Kisara was reluctant to take Shu's memories of Ayano because she knows that it is important to him and Shu had to convince her that 'his memories are worthless when what they need is her power to save Ayano.' (It's in Japanese which the English subtitle didn't do a good job at translating the original meaning)
Kisara really living up to the ideal of yandere's everywhere...consuming their lovers' entire identity with reckless abandon no matter how messed up it is and being willing to kill any other woman that gets in her way.
Indeed. Its one of the few times where I'm actually invested enough in an Yandere, despite what she brings to the table, in terms of suffering.
> being willing to kill any other woman that gets in her way.
Look like she saw ayano as a littel sister
Yuno's gonna have serious competition if this keeps up.
Honestly I found the casual implication that Kisara purposely consumes Shuu's memories of other girls first when she was leaving the hospital room to be the most yandere she was this episode but that declaration was pretty great too. God I love Kisara lol. She's a yandere done right.
I liked that Ayano commented on that.
I was just thinking "What the hell Kisara, that gives a whole other meaning to it" but I liked how Ayano confirmed what I was thinking lol.
And I love how Kisara probably deliberately phrased it that way since she was talking to Ayano.
"I feel myself going deeper inside you!" 🤣
Lmao that poison/knife scene was wild asf💀
Japan/Tentacles name a better duo…
>Japan/Tentacles name a better duo…
Ahem, Kisara and getting things inserted in her.
You mean her being *penetrated* lol
by a hard thing, don't forget that!
[Japan/netorare, of course.](https://i.imgur.com/8N7Mutj.png) She even said the word.
Nothing beats having sex with a hot nun and knocking her out before she can kill you.
And then said nun strips so she can pilot a full-body tentacle demon armor.
God I love anime.
"What part of her is Sharon the Chaste!?"
Probably the most interesting glimpse of Old Shu when we find out that he put toxins on All The Things. Certainly a contrast to his current state with a lot of determination, just as many toasted memories, but also not quite as... witty.
I love how un-chaste she was.
Naughty tentacles, broadening one's horizons since the Edo period.
LMAO Shu really did smash Sharon. And poisoned her with his dick, what a lad. Though now I'm wondering whether he dumped Ayano before partnering with the Celestial Abbey or after. Hopefully before.
I feel bad for Kisara though. Shu's care is all that she'll ever get from him. Her being willing to trash him and every other woman he knows is wonderfully tragically yandere. Based that she drops the N E T O R A R E on Sharon though, Area Nun in absolute shambles.
I really do wonder what was up with that sequence after the OP.
In the hospital scene when Ayano asked how shu and Sharon knew each other kisara said “it was right around the time he dumped you and came running to me” so probably before
My girl finally got to shine more. So this is the ["pure love"](https://imgur.com/a/XRIy935) director tanaka was talking about in the interview.
That kissing scene was so emotional though, she just wants to know what he thinks about her, but all he does is shut her mouth. Let's see where we are headed, especially with that scene of Kisara trying to pull out the spear from Kana.
Pure love as only a true yandere could deliver.
I think this was definitely a good episode for re-establishing Kisara and her relationship with Shu after the last few episodes kind of skewed more towards Ayano. Kisara knows she's being used, and wants it to be more than that, but she's desperate enough to use Shu's "affection" for her as much as she can.
I like the scene when she confront him and demand answer but in the end don't know shu feeling are true or not after all he is a bastard
TBH Still Ayano is far better than Kisara.
Is there a link to this interview?
Damn, Shu is ruthless. Idk what I was expecting, but slipping the nun a neurotoxin during sex certainly wasn't one of them.
And that tentacle suit was something else wasn't it? But seriously, aren't stupidly OP evil nuns the best?
Overall this show kicks ass with that fan service, action combo.
I love how she was about to kill him while they were getting it on and he knocked her out at just the right time.
I don't know what's better, the tentacle armor or the fact that she stripped down to everything but her nun habit to wear it. "Chaste" my ass...and I'm not just talking about Sharon's ass.
we need more nuns like Sharon
Well i definitely say that then they are also going to ex girlfriends of shu then
Ok who had demonoid mech suit on their bingo card?
Who else had injecting poison via dick on their bingo card?
Who put a lovely talk between current and ex on their bingo card?
A demonoid mech suit with tentacles that, judging from her gasp and wince as it pulled her in, "powers" itself by inserting its tentacles into a certain part of the female anatomy.
Fanartists are gonna be busy this week.
Don't forget about the demon tentacles.
What an episode holy shit. This anime gets better every episode! Finally Kisara got some screen time again. That kiss scene was top tier, A-1 is going all out with them haha.
Definitely watch the post-credit scene!!!
This top Demon Hazard 100% has something with the incident with Shuu's family - the big bad is coming
Yeah, I feel like this was a good episode for Kisara to catch up to Shu, and while she didn't outright have sex with him, that kiss scene was something else. Especially when they showed the tongue action.
Looks like the final boss is going to be the **real** Demon Hazard, and they might need Sharon's help in the end.
I think the real demon hazard is Kisara, which is why the Abbey is after her.
Kisara said she "still has 2 transformations left" to the nun when they fought at the beginning.
Yeah, I was wondering what she meant. Is that the amount of times she can take up her true demon form? Or her evolving into her true demon form?
Demon queen I think
Interesting...I didn't think about it being Kisara. Maybe something happens to Shuu and she loses control and sacrifices herself for him? I still think this anime is going to end in an "ultimate sacrifice" type of situation.
Oh man, I felt genuinely terrible for Ayano at the end there, Shu just left before she had the chance speak to him... I suspect one of those coffees was meant for him too.
Lmao, Ayano and her mom are the only decent people in this show.
Her mum makes use of Shu for the first 3 episodes. Ep 1-2 she pays Shu meager wages or nothing at all if you count the cost of the equipment that Shu has to purchase because the conditions of his mission changed midway. And in episode 3, she stopped Shu from winning the contract only to use Shu to kill the demon for free by putting Ayano's life on the line.
What these girls should do is have a talk, realize they’re much better than Shu, kill this geek, and become the baddest bitch threesome of demon killers… or whatever it is they do on this show.
Looks like we're starting to head to the main part of the plot, about the big bad on the surface. Let's see how that connects up with the big bad under the surface.
A good number of Kisara reaction faces today too.
Edit: oh and my guess for the background plot about Sharon would be that she's either literally a very pure and straight laced demon slayer that fell for Shu bad and gave him everything, but took the betrayal really badly and became a violent yandere; or the "pure" callsign was a bit of an ironic dig to her behaviour, and she was being a sore loser.
Also, don't get side tracked, Kisara's backstory is unfinished, and a couple of hints are in the dialogue - is the sword from another demon? Why was Kisara pinned there and how long had she been there such that she's fossilised.
That Kiss was Damn
Maruto knows how to deliver on some passionate kisses.
This kiss was nice because this time shu us the one who wants to do that but what her motives is we know
Does anyone else have any idea what is going on? We are like 7 episodes in and I can’t tell if this is as simple as “demons bad we kill them” or something deeper. Even after that end scene reveal I had zero care or reaction. If it wasn’t 20 minutes a week I probably would’ve dropped this awhile ago.
It's not any of what you have mentioned. Shu only cares about his sister and the truth behind his family's tragedy.
In case you can't tell yet, the whole story is on the dynamics of the tragic love triangle encompassing a man who had sacrificed everything for his goal, a demon who loves him unconditionally and is willing to be used by him, and his ex-girlfriend who is hoping that he can be set free and to start anew with him.
>flesh armor suit
man, this series is basically just slowly ticking all the H-RPG boxes lmao
I feel like the tone of this show is all over the place. Like it tries to be an ecchi 2000s action show one moment and then it tries to be a serious, emotional tragedy the next.
At the very least, It's kind of hard to stomach Shu's behavior being cast in a comedic moment in one part.
On another end, we have Kisara being portrayed in sort of a gray area of seemingly caring about Ayano and yet here we just have a straight up declaration from her that she doesn't care about the problems she causes and all the other girls can die as long as she gets her Shu. IDK.
Sometimes I wondered if Kisara's care for Ayano is born from leeching memories off Shuu, since Kisara did say in a previous episode that all she cares about is Shuu, even if he's losing the memories.
Another thing that could be a reason is that Shuu would be very hurt if something happened to Ayano (I don't remember if something like this was mentioned before) so that's why Kisara seemingly cares about her.
So far the show hasn't really touched on this quite as much as it could, which is fine on one hand, as there's plenty of episodes to play with. But on the other hand, it keeps pushing the character's true motivations off into the distance, which is a dangerous game to play as it makes it hard for the audience to care what they're up to when the why-they-'re-up-to insists on being so opaque.
I wonder if this is going to end with Kisara dying and everyone forgetting because she takes everybody’s memory’s.
I feel like the main emotional crux of the finale is going to be Shu giving everything away and what everybody, including Kisara, does about it.
He's even having nightmares about forgetting his goals.
That would be excellent - definitely think she dies saving Shuu
Holy moly this episode was a ride once again. So sharon actually wanted kisara dead back then as shu teamed up with her and even wanted to 'silence' him as well but didn't expect to get lured into seggs only to get poisoned lol, he is so damn savage.
We get shu having a dream again and at this point it's quite obvious that someone or something is interfering with his mind, I can't wait till the secret about the spear and his sister gets revealed.
I just loved every kisara scene this episode, it shed more light on her character and that she is ready to embrace her desires no matter what cost just like shu whatever how unhealthy and reckless it may be. This fits with a recent interview of the staff which said the story in the second half focuses on pure love or better to say extreme/distorted pure love. Best moment was definitely kisara desperately wanting an answer for what shu really wants her and despite he didn't deny that he still wants her power it was also super cute how he said he would rather die than kiss any other demon.
Despite some more world building this was a huge and long waited W for kisara fans, can't wait how their relationship further from now on!
A MECHA NUN
Another week of thanking A-1 for this fun Saturday evening 🙏
I guess had Kisara been a normal girl , we would not have this story at all because Shuu's definitely gonna take her IMHO, he really seems like the type to like slightly (?) devilish girls.
But she isn't, and while that happened in a dream I cannot help but think Kisara really have something major to do with Shuu's sister. He had almost forgotten about that of course, but that's going to be an explosive point some time later.
Anyway poor Kisara, for the nth time in the last few episodes she feels like only being used by Shuu as a tool, even prompting her to ask this time around. But Kisara's love is real and, well, I think she's going to feel even worse as things around them worsens.
At least Kisara is clearly playing around Ayano with ease lol, a little comfort in a sea of pain for the pink hair devil...
He did admit she's the only demon he could ever kiss the way he does, but I'm really curious about Kisara's background now. It feels like she's so dedicated to feeling needed and consuming Shu, as that's how she expresses her love, but I wonder how she came to be.
Also poor Ayano back on the sidelines watching Kisara and Shu being chummy.
Man, I love Sharon, she's such a badass. Didn't like the fight scene though, her earlier scenes were so dynamic, I was hoping this powersuit would make her straight up DBZ but instead she just stood there, which is static and boring to watch, big failure of a direction choice imo, girl should have become even more of an agile terminator going after Kisara.
Already been established in the show she can't hurt Kisara without the use of a demonic weapon or in this case a suit. So even if she could move freely, the suit would still need to be the one to do damage.
Plus it would probably put a bigger strain on the animation team if they had to animate more hand to hand combat scenes. From what I've read, they're some of the most time consuming frames to animate.
They are, which is reflected in the quality of the product. I am fine with her having a suit, they just should have made the demon powers come out like a sword or something instead of tentacles. Yeah it would be difficult to animate, but since when do we say shows don't need good fight animation just because its hard? Not everything needs to be demon slayer but if your show has fighting demons as a premise you should at least Try your best to make the fighting of demons look good XD
Today's battle: Kisara won!
What does Kisara mean when she says she only has "two transformations" left? Does she meant the amount of time she can transform into her demon form? Before she consumes all of Shu's memories?
No surprise Kisara would pounce on the chance to kiss Shu while he's asleep and erase some other women from his life...but of course Ayano isn't going to let her steal a kiss like that.
Mikami just casually admitting he's a former chuuni...
"Sharon the Chaste" - even though she flashes her legs, garterbelt stockings, and undies so much and has no qualms about having sex. Yeah, I'm with Ayano, nothing about this woman is "chaste."
Ostensibly someone dedicated to eradicating demons because of their faith wouldn't be an issue when they're trying to eliminate demons as well...but people like Sharon are so fervent in their belief that they'd go all out to eliminate the demons without any care for the masquerade the city has up. And there's the matter of Kisara.
So Shu has both girlfriends at his bedside and being as prickly around each other as ever, although they both can seemingly commiserate over the third woman in Shu's life and how he basically cheated on them both. Poor Ayano is desperate to find out how many other women Shu has been with, and Kisara's not telling.
Ah, so Sharon and Shu did have sex! And Sharon was about to kill Shu while they were in the middle of it before he knocked her out. I hope the sex was still good though.
Kisara is so loyal to Shu because he saved her from the Celestial Abbey, when they wanted her destroyed, and on Shu's part, it seems like on some level he's worried about losing her along with his sister and his sense of self if his nightmare is any indication.
Sharon "The Chaste" gets a full strip scene (with special emphasis on her stockings) and a shot of her amazing "Chaste" ass before she enters into a full body armor powered by demons to hunt down Kisara. And of course the only thing she keeps on is her nun habit.
Before Shu and Kisara can reconcile and work together again, Kisara wants him to answer what she is to him...simply just a tool and a means to an end? Something beyond being willing to throw his identity and life away to use? But whether Shu might love Kisara or not, she's the only demon he would kiss the way he does, and the two engage in some passionate make-up kissing.
Gotta be embarrassing for Sharon to lose so decisively to Kisara and get arrested while practically naked, although at least they gave her her clothes back for her interrogation.
Welp, Ayano had a bit of a lead, but now it's her turn to be left in the dust as Shu and Kisara strengthen their bond and walk off together while she's left holding the coffee.
Shu may not remember much about Sharon but he remembers on some level that she wasn't one for letting personal feelings get in the way of her mission, so she was never here just for Shu or Kisara...she was actually there because there's a one true Demon Hazard that's about to burst out of the city and the Celestial Abbey is out to stop it. Does that mean they're going to work with Sharon to stop it now that they know about the real threat? Will the Abbey bust Sharon out of custody when they come in to take it out? Will that be the final boss?
I think she meant it generally in terms of her combat abilities, that she has her transformtion we all know and another one we have yet to see.
>No surprise Kisara would pounce on the chance to kiss Shu while he's asleep and erase some other women from his life...but of course Ayano isn't going to let her steal a kiss like that.
I don't think Kisara would do that - she had many chances to do it in the past if she had the intention. Kisara just misses Shuu dearly after being separated for some length of time.
This show is all over the place, tonally. The first two episodes were comedy. Then the next three were drama. And then the last two were weird super-anime episodes with evil martial arts nuns, possible setup for a harem, and a demon mecha suit. I don't really know where the show is going, at this point.
I don't mind the tonal shotgun approach to anime, and am actually quite fond of it, but usually those shows have some sort of core to tie them together, usually the MC. However the MC here suffers from this issue of frequently not quite being himself due to the memory loss issue. On top of that, the various flashbacks to who he has been in the past lead to quite a scattered conceptualisation of him. I find it very hard to care about his family tragedy or his sister when the anime kept these things smuggled under wraps, but now is also refusing to touch them even when other characters directly raise them.
This sounds like it's a "Big Criticism" when it's not, it's just more an explanation of why the show feels a bit floaty at times, where there's a lot of stuff going on, but it doesn't have weight.
In general I like that anime doesn't stick to genre as rigidly as American shows do, but here the tone shifts make the story be less than the sum of its parts. Maybe it's because as you say, we get a scattered picture of him. I guess it makes sense in terms of the story (his memory must be Swiss cheese at this point), but it makes him an unusually blurry main character.
Huge darling in the frannx vibes lmao. The pure, devoted love, the stealing of something important (in DITF, Life/ his heart), in here, his memories/identity. Cute, and shows a true partner in crime - who's prepared to take from the protagonist, but in return give their all. I hope that Shu reciprocates big time. Feels like 85/15 in their relationship. I'd love to see them work out. Ayano is a menace, but this almost feels meant to be.
Shu is quite the player, ladies' man, man-whore, pimp, etc. If Shu was a woman sleeping around with men, I would use the same type of terms applicable to a woman that does it: Whore, tramp, slut, hooker, skank, etc. TBH, I hope he picks Ayano in the end and ends up having a family with her.
Cheating on your girlfriend, putting neurotoxins in private areas? A real scumbag, I would say.
>Cheating on your girlfriend
But didn't the episode mention he already dumped Ayano 3 years ago when he found Kisara and partnered with Sharon?
Ayano mentioned he'd cheated on them both so I wonder if she meant it on an emotional level than, say, actual cheating.
All the same Ayano is once again the main outlier in Sharon's belief that Shu uses women because other than begging her to pay utilities it seems like Shu never tried to use Ayano for his plans even when he probably could have.
I think its on a emotional level. She loved him very much and was likely very depressed when they broke up.
Ayano is probably the only girl Shuu truly cares about (other than his sister) and doesn't want to bring harm to her in anyway, but as with this episode, you can also add Kisara to this list.
Where'd the cheating come from? Shu already broke up with Ayano.
Their goal was to make him seem like a scumbag, a likeable scumbag!
They definitely nailed the first part, not so sure about the second part though!
According to interviews, they had even more extreme ideas to make him look scummy but they had to tone them down a bit.
After this episode, I am really curious to see/hear what they had in mind, because this is already excessive!
Problem is we don't get to see enough of Shu's character outside of the plot to really peg what's good about him. His quest for vengeance/clearing his family name/saving his sister is relatable sure, you can sympathize with the dude, however personality wise it's really hard to see what's good about him as a person. So far he just seems like a guy that's so singularly focused on a dubious goal that he'll hurt anyone and everyone to achieve it, even himself, and being that kind of person just makes you an asshole.
Lelouch minus the intelligence and and enthusiasm.
On point. Also, say what you want about Lelouch, but the man had charisma, you never really question why people would want to follow him. Shu has the personality of a wet paper bag.
