I was not expecting the Segawa fan club to break the fourth wall but it seems like they are men of culture.
Now about that perceptive field trip guy.... I had to look up his name since it was on the top of my head.
Gotta love the otaku nerds who are able to call out a Harem as a Harem and know exactly how it's going to end.
>I was not expecting the Segawa fan club to break the fourth wall but it seems like they are men of culture
Lol that scene was great. Hope we get more scenes of them commenting on our group.
Seeing them comment on the progression of the Harem would be pretty fun. Also kind of remind me of Osamake.
His name is Shion.
I really liked how supportive the parents were about Sachi's school choice. And the mom vs Sachi face off was just great.
> And the mom vs Sachi face off was just great.
Both already had chairs in hand when Erika stopped them, they where totally down for violence to get their point across
It's the Umino way.
That cut to having them both holding chairs like that was hilarious.
Yeah, I like how they had no problem selling their shop for the sake of their daughters' education and unsurprisingly Sachi wanted none of that.
It was a much more believable family conflict compared to what Nagi imagined in episode 2, but also we had Erika serving as the peacemaker instead of the instigator as well.
I love Erika’s costumes lol. Her wardrobe must be insane! Operation Stalk Hiro is
underway. Sacchi tryna find dirt but all she’s finding out is Hiro is pretty much perfect lol. Sachi’s gonna have to try harder than this if she wants Nagi. Attending the same HS is one strategy I guess.
I’m so glad Shion is back lol. I really like that dude. He’s a ridiculous person but he’s pretty hilarious. Very perceptive too! I figured Sachi would get Hiro to show here around. Got to size up your rival lol. I like how Erika said “sisters” and Nagi immediately pictured church bells haha. But after all that, they seem to be as thick as thieves. What happened??
It’s kind of cute how Sachi has been chasing after Nagi since she was little. Little Sachi was pretty adorable! After Nagi made a big deal about the cost of tuition, the parents were surprisingly cool about it. They just gotta sell the shop! Nbd lol. But man, Mama Umino is fierce! I forget sometimes that the parents were both kinda like delinquents haha.
Well, with Sachi attempting to enter their HS things are gonna be interesting.
I'm only disappointed Erika didn't get to dress up Sachi for their detective work.
It seems like Hiro is bringing out Sachi's more aggressive side even if she won't admit why she's so wary of Hiro.
I feel like something happened between Hiro and Sachi while Nagi was running towards them. One second Sachi is calling Hiro out for being wishy-washy, the next she and Hiro are gal pals. Did Sachi declare war and they came together through that?
I thought it was funny how that family argument Nagi imagined in episode 2 actually happened here, only with Mama Umino and Sachi instead of Erika, who is actually the one who gets everybody to calm down by acting like the big sister she kind of is now. "Onee-chan" indeed.
Yeah, I liked the family argument. They’re all very fierce, no one was backing down. Well, maybe except the dad lol. The Umino women are tough!
I was hoping we would get to see Sachi dressed as the Watson to Erika’s Holmes. Would have been perfect!
umino women have more of a spine than I do lmao
> Sachi’s gonna have to try harder than this if she wants Nagi.
I suspect that she was anticipating an easier victory for either Erika or herself. Speaking of which, I liked how that whole segment wrapped up in a rather sensible way with Erika first offering to get them to chat and then just talking about who she knew Hiro as. Interestingly, although Sachi turned down the "just talk to her" the first time, she ended up following her big sister's advice and did talk to her, including very directly.
> I forget sometimes that the parents were both kinda like delinquents haha.
One of the best parts of the show, I'm always glad when they turn up. Like Niyodo, you never know which mode you're going to get!
> But after all that, they seem to be as thick as thieves. What happened??
Nagi stands zero chance of anything, given how well all these girls get along lol He's basically the fourth wheel.
> a ridiculous person but pretty hilarious.
A good summary of both *Couple of Cuckoos* and *My Stepmother's Daughter is My Ex*!
Erika just casually stole Nagi's crab omelet
Nagi just let it happen
Poor guy's already resigned to married life
His stratagem played out though, he was eating some of it again by the end. The wise general knows when to make his move, and also gets the share that can't be eaten!

[Sachi in shambles while Erika is amazed](https://i.imgur.com/cjypHLV.jpg) at Hiro for being amazing was such a hilarious scene. xD

>Detective Erika & Sachi
My only disappointment is she didn't dress up Sachi too.
Sachi in shambles while Erika is amazed at Hiro for being amazing was such a hilarious scene. xD
Hiro is too perfect for Sachi to take and Erika is too dense to her own feelings to quite recognize Hiro as a love rival quite yet.
>Sachi and Hiro's alone time during the Open Campus tour ended up being way better than expected.
Love rivals or gal pals? I guess it can be a thin line sometimes...
> My only disappointment is she didn't dress up Sachi too.
Sachi did get into costume, just it was the stalker costume!
> When Sachi wants to do something, she gets it done.
Erika and Hiro better not take Sachi too lightly or else she'll swoop in and take Umino for herself.
Especially when Hiro is making Sachi be more aggressive and Erika seems a little too dense to her own feelings at this point.
I think Erika is actually just the author cosplaying a character and is happy for all outcomes lol
"Gosh, why are you guys arguing about finances? You shouldn't worry about future stuff like that and just focus on the present!"
\- Girl who has had literally everything in her life handed to her on a silver platter by her rich father
Ah the good ol Erika says nothing and solves everything part
I think that part was a bit lost in translation. I think she was trying to say stop trying to solve a problem the moment it presents itself. That solutions have a way of presenting themselves down the line.
They have like half a year before it’s a thing they actually have to deal with.
I feel like the translation, at least the subs I watched for this episode, is chopping a lot of the meaning out of things with its clumsiness.
Made the family argument today feel completely cartoonish, when they've been some of the strongest parts in the past.
True, but the familial sentiment is appreciated all the same!
Yes, but telling poor people not to worry about money troubles when you yourself are a spoiled rich girl who wants for nothing is still a pretty bad look. Stuff like this IS a big concern for low-income households, and this IS something that should be talked about now so they can work out ideas, not months down the road when the choice actually needs to be made. Erika's suggestion is just putting off the eventual problem which will no more likely be resolved six months from now than would be tonight.
There was no discussion about ways and means of affording it going on, though, just an argument.
Sounds like the perfect time for little miss rich girl to bring up that her father is a millionaire and could help pay for Sachi's tuition.
Erika said nothing of the sort. No contribution to figuring out how to actually solve the problem. She just advocated for ignoring it, acting like money problems aren't a big deal, when they absolutely ARE, especially when it involves your child's future.
They all know that her Dad could pay for it, and they all know there's no way the Uminos will ask him for the money.
She didn't advocate for ignoring it. She said that the parents should think about how else they can raise the money.
>They all know that her Dad could pay for it, and they all know there's no way the Uminos will ask him for the money.
So why doesn't she ask?
>She didn't advocate for ignoring it. She said that the parents should think about how else they can raise the money.
Without any real plan, that's ignoring it.
Let me rephrase: they all know the Uminos wouldn't accept money from her father.
Her whole point was that they should stop arguing and start planning. The first step to having a plan is making one.
So what you're saying is that the Uminos don't love their daughter and want what's best for her.
I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't be too keen to go around begging money from prospective in-laws.
I like how Erika is wealthy enough to pay for Sachi's education but chooses to let her family settle the situation on their own.
Sachi needs to pull herself up by her bootstraps apparently.
Why hasn't her family tried buying more money?
They're clearly too stupid to think of that, like most poor people.
I was honestly expecting Erika to suggest she pay for everything (then again, I'm not sure if even with her allowance she could afford an entire education for her little sister) or Erika's dad to pay for it, but it was nice to see her keep the peace between her bio family and step up as a big sister.
Especially when in episode 2 Nagi imagined she would be the one to instigate a fight between the family.
Mami/Ruka ep in kanokari yesterday and now Sachi/Hiro ep in kakkou. Great week for best girls. Toyama Nao really shining
So Hiro admits she likes Nagi, love to see it.
I love how meeting Hiro has motivated sachi to push herself. A world where they’re all at the same school would be hilarious. Hopefully the family shop and her school ambitions have positive outcomes!
Good episode as usual
Hiro basically admitted she's interested in Nagi despite her circumstances but it seemed like they jumped ahead to her and Sachi being cool with each other even though Sachi didn't appreciate how wishy-washy Hiro's feelings seem. I wonder what happened in the time Nagi took to run after them.
It seems like Sachi usually follows what her brother does to be more like him, but now she feels she has competition in Hiro which just emboldens her even more.
Meanwhile Erika is being the best big sis she can be.
Of course Sachi has a rivalry with Hiro. Like you said, ***she follows what her brother does to be more like him.***
I give it three episodes before she confesses.
Detective Erika returns! It's fun to see the two sisters team-up, but it's a shame Sachi went with a hoodie instead of letting Erika dress her up.
Of course all their stalking...I mean, investigating turns up is how great Hiro is, which is the last thing Sachi wants to see from the competition for her brother. And it seems like the only solution she can come up with to deal with her feelings is getting into to their school so she can get more involved.
I love how Nagi and Erika seem like they genuinely forgot about Shion as a character. And that he apparently has a fetish for Erika and her sister.
Sachi is the talk of the school when she shows up for a tour, and of course Hiro is the one giving it, and it seems to be going well (particularly with Nagi and Erika's color commentary) right up until the topic of Nagi and Hiro's situation comes up. But what happened? One second Sachi is saying she doesn't accept how Hiro is handling it, the next it seems like they're closer than ever.
Gotta appreciate the nerds who go from calling Nagi a traitor for hanging out with cute girls like a stud to being self-aware about how he's a Harem protagonist and how this is all inevitably going to lead to drama in the end when he has to choose one of them.
So Sachi is a really hard worker who always does her best to be number one like Nagi...which comes off a lot like she just follows her brother to be closer to him and be more like him, which going to the same high school as him is just the latest next step for her.
The Umino parents are surprisingly understanding despite the financial cost...but they're willing to put up their shop if it means Sachi's educational future, although Sachi wants none of that.
It's funny how Nagi imagined Erika and Umino mama going at it in episode 2 when in reality Sachi is the one that instigates the fight and Erika is the one who has to bring everybody together in peace, which is probably the most Big Sis thing she has ever done with her bio family. Good thing to when both ladies were about to bring out the chairs...and shut down poor Umino papa.
Ah! Sachi finally called Erika Onee-chan! That's sweet. Even if it also shows the discrepancy between Erika and Nagi in terms of being Sachi's sibling.
Gambatte, Sachi-chan. (•̀ᴗ•́)୨
Wait I'm not even following the anime but this got more than 1 cour!?
It was announced right from the start that this would be two cours.
I really hope the next season will also be 24 episodes!
I am liking the antics!
Are they doing another season? I was under the impression that this technically is the ‘2nd second’ the way they always try to say two cour shows are season 1 and 2
I'm surprised the nerds still associate Nagi with them even though they left him after losing to Hiro but they're pretty smart about Nagi's situation.
Shion's pretty good at perception that Erika and Sachi are probably sisters.
I'm surprised Erika didn't suggest that her family pays for Sachi's school tuition and supplies. I love how Namie and Sachi got chairs ready for a fight.
Erika logic is like "homeless people should buy house to be not homeless" lol
Yeah, she's kind of not the best person.
Damn we got a guest appearance from Betelgeuse this episode, desu.
The more I watch this show..
The more I think none of these girls deserve nagi lol
Most of the time they treat him like trash
How did they solve anything by pushing the problem back? Like they literally took a trip home just to face the issue. It's as though the air is cleared, but they're quite literally in the same position, where they can't be sure the effort is even viable. Guess just be happy instead of responsible. Love of family and all that.
This way, Erika gets to look like the hero and her stock rises in the eyes of the audience so we think that she's a good fit for Nagi when really all she did is talk down to poor people and pretend like the problem wasn't that bad, when she has no idea how hard it is to be poor.
Well, the first step is just to put the issue on the table. They are family, not ... actually, I can't think of any sort of collective of people where you routinely solve major issues the first time you all get together to meet about them.
Now they can go run some numbers, see what things look like etc, check what the state of scholarships are.
Once all that's done maybe it'll pan out that letting Erika help her little sister come to school with her is something that feels quite palatable, whereas nobody would accept that upfront.
I've noticed it just now but what the fuck are those socks Sachi? Those are some baggy ass socks she have there.
You mean [those](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loose_socks)? They are pretty common in anime.
Yeah, I think they're usually associated with gyaru girls or female delinquents.
Im starting to dislike Sachi more and more. Shes literally hitting Nagi for nothing and is constantly treating him like shit but wonders why he doesnt love her like Hiro. What a terrible character.
When it comes to certain goals I have in life, I wish I had Sachi’s determination, perseverance, and discipline. Going from a landlubber to winning first place in a swimming competition in a year is impressive. Would be nice if I could pick up skills that quickly.
Also, I see Erika has been inspired by Nagi to try to change fate. I hope this series explores the idea of changing fate more. It’s always an idea I find interesting.
A good ole fashioned Sachi episode pretty refreshing actually. I feel like I’m still going back and forth on who best girl is for this show man.
This show is sooo shit
Sachi focused ep with her showing her determination when she sets her goals up and damn I which had her drive.
Nerd duo was just us viewers and I loved it when I agreed with everything they said XD.
So I really liked the first two episodes and have been just waiting for it to end or almost end before I catch up because I didn't want to have to wait every single week for a single episode. Should I try to catch up at this point, or should I wait a little longer for like episode 20 or something? I do kind of miss not being able to participate in discussion threads when I catch up instead of watch with everyone else
This isn't the kind of anime to have big story arcs that get better when watched in full so any time's a good time to catch up
lol, I just didn't want to have to deal with constant cliffhangers. One at the end is good enough for me

When will they address the picture of young Nagi and Erika?
My favourite thing about this episode was that it was Erika's turn to be straightman for half the episode lol It's a role she does oddly well, despite being a bit of a cuckoo. I find her reactions incredibly funny, and she makes a really good foil for both Sachi and Nagi.
slowly this opening is getting better and better
Why are all the characters assholes?
