Looks like LycoReco is gender-equally gay

alotmorealots

Some good quality gay representation this season, along with Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting. I thought the latter did pretty well for anime, but LycoReco did it even better.

ernie2492

Majima approves

alejandroc90

I wanna be as happy and cheerful as Chisato, is contagious.

alotmorealots

I know that's a throwaway remark, but it's certainly something I've contemplated in the past, during my personal development phases over the years. To get there when you're not already there, I think you need to make a decision to be like that, and then commit to with fanaticism of a religious zealot until you break your neurochemistry and psychology to your own willpower, and then maintain that zealotry in the face of life. The problem is you need to sacrifice a lot to achieve it, if it's not your natural disposition already, and it may or may not be possible depending on your baseline neurochemistry as dependent on your genetics. As a reference point, having spent time in psych wards (as a staff member lol) and seen how strongly the way our minds can re-create the way one experiences reality, it changes one's perspective on these things a bit. Personally, I decided that I was more interested in being myself, than being happy. Anyway, apologies for the completely off-tone reply to your comment haha

nezeta

I wonder how Majima could stand his iPhone on the handrail. Is this an indication of his superhuman ability that Alan Institute acknowledged?

Syokhan

Personally, I think his talent is being a survivor. He didn't die at the tower, said something along the lines of "I'm the only one left again" when he was introduced, didn't die from that explosion last week...

Maybe-Lucky

ah make sense

Syokhan

Although I saw someone mention his talent being "balancing", which, with his phone at the end, could also fit. I'm trying to think of a way balancing would work with him seemingly being indestructible.

Bainos

Well, it would be a bit strange since we're talking about him getting abilities from the abstract concept of balance (whether it's for his survival, his goal to destroy the Lycorises, or letting the phone stand), rather than a specific ability. That being said, even if unlikely, it's not *impossible* that they would actually go for that. Majima and Chisato abilities are close to supernatural already, and the Alan Institute repeatedly speak about "the talents from God". It was also pretty clear in Shinji's talk with Mika and Takina that he considers Chisato to be above the level of mere mortals.

cppn02

Also got out of the train station.

Syokhan

Oh yeah, that too. (then again, maybe it's only plot armor!))

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

if your theory is correct... tbh doesnt it seem like things are going the exact opposite rn? Chisato is the talent at surviving, while Majima is the talent at killing as things stand.

basuga_BFE

So, his talent of surviving would balance her talent for killing... hmm...

MejaBersihBanget

So he's the Lycoris Recoil version of Zaeed Massani

melindypants

So with that in mind, you think he's the last survivor of the Lily Bells? The same thing that happened with saving Chisato, the Alan Institute saved him? Maybe the old Radio Tower incident was Chisato getting rid of all the Lily Bells??

maliwanag0712

Just noticed it in the post credit scene. And yeah. It seems it is related to his supernatural power. Hoping that things escalate real quick next episode. We don't want the main questions to be answered in this series in a rushed manner.

Chikumori

Well, at least this isn't a Trigger show. Suddenly, aliens ?

SnabDedraterEdave

The guy is obsessed with all things "balance". So of course he's gonna try balancing his phone over the handrail.

wjodendor

I just thought his talent was like terrorism or causing chaos or something.

FetchFrosh

There was an [old Canadian commercial about how everyone has a "thing"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs4zkcBX-mA) and for some reason your comment just threw it back into my brain. I'm just imagining Majima in this like, "my thing is terrorism".

Chikumori

Probably related to his "gotta balance things out! " obsession from Episode 6. Majima and Chisato interactions kind of reminds me of the Joker and Batman now. Hear me out. Majima is willing to do all sorts of flashy things, doesn't mind killing, is able to assemble a bunch of goons to do his bidding, and is obsessed with Chisato, who he now sees as an arch enemy. Chisato usually has to operate covertly, tries not to kill her opponents, and has a bunch of set friends / allies. I'm guessing if he fails at getting rid of her, he'll probably pull a reverse psychology with something drastic and try to get Chisato to kill him instead, nothing better than to make her fail her mission of being a pacifist. Wonder if Chisato will find out he has ties to Alan too, someday. Given her forgiving nature, I expect the writing to go like The Killing Joke movie. Eg, Majima is defeated, Chisato offers him a chance at friendship / rehab, but he politely declines, says it's too late for him.

Bainos

The rivalry (it's a bit weird to call it that, but it's what it looks like) between Chisato and Majima, as well as the parallels that keep building up, are quite interesting to see. If wonder if they'll have *more* in common later. [I really like this image with both of them at the beginning.](https://i.imgur.com/pRUFO8E.jpg)

Silent_Shadow05

I hope they have a battle of wits at some point as I personally really love mind games.

Bainos

A battle of wits ? Between them ? > Chisato : I use gun. > > Majima : I use more guns. > > Chisato : I'm immune to guns. > > Majima : *Ho no !* ... sorry, I'm exaggerating a bit. An actual battle of wits could totally happen, but their *usual* personalities are so carefree that the above was the first to come to mind.

kappaderickz

[It's actually doable if one gets good enough at finding the center of gravity of objects](https://youtu.be/Br9ZcAO_ods)

yurilnw123

Holy shit. If I saw just the picture I would assumed it's been edited but this is actually legit.

__bacs

He's alwqys talking about 'balancing' so that might be his quirk

michhoffman

FYI: There's an after credits scene that you won't want to miss. Majima is confirmed to have an Alan Institute talent. His talent isn't for killing since that's Chisato so I wonder what it is.

cppn02

Balancing objects apparently.

michhoffman

True, I'm curious how big of a house of cards he can make now. But balancing as an overall talent would be interesting.

alejandroc90

As all things should be

Se7en_Sinner

Majima's talent has to be balancing right?

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

if that's the case, then it seems that there's a very wide and free interpretation of the Alan's institutes "talents" isnt it? I can think of non-villainy ways of "balancing" things, heck a choatic neutral character would work great with a talent in balancing.

AJigsawnHalo

If everything seems to only have good/positive things happening, then that would be very unbalanced. Which Majima seems to have noticed and is compelled to balance it out.

cyberscythe

He's obsessed with balance, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's his talent. Like, Chisato has a pretty hardline rule against killing, but her talent seems to be about taking people's lives.

Cyclone_96

That phone on the rail was likely a hint, but what other feat has he performed that would suggest that? I can’t figure out how balancing objects is enough to warrant being an Alan talent, in the same vein as Chisato.

melindypants

Someone else said here that his talent is being a "survivor" - he survived the old Radio tower incident, the subway, and (theory time) I believe he was the last Lily Bell and they were wiped out.

Silent_Shadow05

>Someone else said here that his talent is being a "survivor" - he survived the old Radio tower incident, the subway Maybe he can go into a supernatural state of balance between life and death, which allows him to survive the worst outcomes? >I believe he was the last Lily Bell and they were wiped out I had the same inkling and probably the reason why he wants to wipe out the DA.

Etheox

1v1 me Rust -Majima basically

Labmit

I just love Chisato's laugh. It's doesn't sound like the usual anime laugh but actually sounds like the laughs you hear in real life.

Se7en_Sinner

I haven't heard anime laughter this realistic since *Uramichi Oniisan*.

bananeeek

But those laughs were depressed and devoid of emotio...Ohhhhh! [](#smugpoint)

tiniestkid

:(

Syokhan

Oh, that wheezing laugh!

dagreenman18

Iketeru really had the best laugh.

Bainos

She has all kinds. We heard her fairly realistic, a bit rough laugh at the start, but also the more anime-like, cutesy laugh when she was in the car and at the bar. ... although just talking about her laugh wouldn't do it justice, my favorite "Chisato noise" moment of the episode was when they walked in the hotel entrance.

Dare555

My favorite is when she was cuddling up to Takina at start and making "guci guci" noises damn cute

SgtGrimm

Some of the banters and convo on this anime actually reminded me of SSSS series (more so Dynazenon than Gridman) and how the casts do dialogue, it just felt natural and idk, lifelike? #

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

the 2 leads are also in SSS Dynazenon (Yume is Takina; Chise is Chisato), which probably contributes to that too

Silent_Shadow05

That reminds me, is there any news when the Dynazenon x Gridman crossover anime will come out?

MrRoundDB

they got a event coming up towards the end of the month so it will probably be announced there

elfratar

There has to be a reason for or some sorcery behind how infectious Chisato’s laugh is. I meant this episode totally managed to fill me with dread and anxiety throughout the whole 20-ish minutes, but just seeing Chisato being a ray of sunshine that she is as usual at the end there is enough to make my day. Chisato might be the solution for world peace afterall.

Silent_Shadow05

A Chisato a day keeps all the depression away.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

i love chika anzai's performance as her

genericnostalgia

Fun fact: the reason Mizuki doubts the fake names Chisato and Takina use (and why Kurumi finds it so hilarious) is because they are blatantly ripped off the names of [these two real life Japanese snack foods](https://twitter.com/asaura_seizon/status/1558468113330741249?s=21&t=k-pHNFb086KHryFcuJXbzA) 😂 and for a bonus sneaky sight-gag, Kurumi is even [munching on](https://i.imgur.com/AmNYw6Y.jpg) a "Kabayaki-san Taro" (蒲焼さん太郎) in that shot too! EDIT: To clarify, the snack names were tweaked just enough to be plausible: "Taro" is a very common (albeit old-fashioned) **boy's** given name (which is assumedly why Takina is wearing a suit) and "Noriko" is a standard girl's given name; it's mainly the surnames being types of food (*kabayaki* is a specific method of cooking fish/eel, and if you've ever had sushi you probably know what *wasabi* is lmao) that stretches the credibility!

havima

Kurumi's VA laugh was so genuine in that scene, I kept replaying it LOL

genericnostalgia

Apparently her VA [actually ate one for the recording](https://twitter.com/kuno_misaki0119/status/1558469480896172033?s=21&t=k-pHNFb086KHryFcuJXbzA) too omg... wonder if that counts as method acting 😂

x-7032-b-3

Makes that laugh even more genuine!

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

that's commitment to the bit lol. And Misaki-san got a snack out of that too lmao.

Silent_Shadow05

Lol yeah, the laugh was so genuine that it felt like the VA was actually in tears from how stupid it was, before she went back to the typical anime laugh.

SnabDedraterEdave

Kuno Misaki really enjoying herself as Kurumi. Her voice here is closer to her real voice than the usual loli roles she's normally cast as.

WhoiusBarrel

Thanks for this, I love multi layered references as much as I hate them for never understanding without the help of others. Just goes to show how much effort is thrown into the show even with the jokes.

bakato

That just makes the receptionist that much more professional.

MejaBersihBanget

It's like that scene in Casino Royale when James Bond checks in Vesper Lynd as "Stephanie Broadchester" and the receptionist doesn't even bat an eye at it.

Naanmana_

For exclusive places like this I don't imagine it's out of place for VIPs to use fake names

cyberscythe

> they are blatantly ripped off the names of these two real life Japanese snack foods 😂 "I believe there should be a reservation on your books for Ms. Cheddar Doritos and her attendant Baja Blast." [](#tomato)

Taiyoryu

Probably would work better with Ms. Betty Crocker and Julius Pringles. Those are at least passable real names.

DecaffeinatedBean

ok so kind of serious question (and thank you so much for mentioning this, I had no idea why it was so ridiculous to them): if you were in some sort of security/hospitality field and someone gave you a really out-of-the-ordinary name (or looked and sounded like a child but claimed to be 30) would you be accepting of it or not even consider it? Kurumi seems to imply that people can be idiots and easily believe stuff, but technically, it would be possible that someone has that name, so I keep thinking I would feel like a total a-hole if I just matter-of-factly turned someone away just because of their name, especially when they have a valid looking ID... but at the same time I don't want people thinking I'm an idiot for accepting something like that :D

cyberscythe

I assumed that the bar allowed people to register with pseudonyms to keep their appearances low-key. Like, if someone made reservations for a Mr. Big Mac and their guest Crunchwrap Supreme, I would assume that they were making a jokey-joke.

DecaffeinatedBean

> Mr. Big Mac and their guest Crunchwrap Supreme LOL! Thanks for putting it in perspective for me. Ok I'm totally team Kurumi on this one. I would have busted up laughing too vs being concerned like Mizuki. *Edit - came back because I just saw your other comment :D >"I believe there should be a reservation on your books for Ms. Cheddar Doritos and her attendant Baja Blast."

JusticeBeak

> if you were in some sort of security/hospitality field and someone gave you a really out-of-the-ordinary name (or looked and sounded like a child but claimed to be 30) would you be accepting of it or not even consider it? Apparently [something similar has happened to Tony Hawk](https://i.redd.it/ep1nax82h6h91.jpg).

Se7en_Sinner

Those names were fitting since they're both snacks.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

it fits w/ the LycoReco theme too lmao

WhoiusBarrel

**CHISATO IN A DRESS AND TAKINA IN A SUIT. [ALONG WITH THIS?!](https://i.imgur.com/3hVIoTN.png). ABSOLUTE PEAK** Kurumi thinking Chisato was constipated because she was shouting in the toilet got me howling. That was a rather tasteful reveal in Yoshi and Mika's relationship. Its so natural yet so mysterious it doesn't feel out of place. I thought Majima was sneaking into the police station not conduct a fucking raid there with his boys, this mans so fucking dangerous.

FetchFrosh

Also Mizuki outright glowing in her dress at the end was hilarious.

michhoffman

> CHISATO IN A DRESS AND TAKINA IN A SUIT Takina wears the pants in the relationship...confirmed

WhoiusBarrel

As expected from someone who originally wore boxers.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

Funnily enough it's chisato who's wearing the boxers now lol

cyberscythe

Maybe they're both wearing boxers. Probably not the same pair at the same time though. [](#rengethink)

julianfahmi

That sounds hot

michhoffman

True, although episode 3 had the roles [reversed](https://gfycat.com/giddyvelvetyleafhopper)

Ocixo

>CHISATO IN A DRESS AND TAKINA IN A SUIT. ALONG WITH THIS?!. ABSOLUTE PEAK I liked Chisato's outfit at the bar a lot. She looked really dapper with her dress and hat. Takina also rock'ed that suit. Honestly, I've been enjoying the fashion in this anime quite a bit. Chisato has already been wearing some very cute outfits for multiple times by now. Her outfits in episode 4 - the shopping episode - and her loungewear from last week - with the twintails - were great. The creator has evidently a keen sense for fashion.

urishino

I mean, you only need to look at the OP to know they have great eyes for fashion.

zadcap

The first time I saw that, I was hoping we would see them in many outfits before this was over. I'm so happy it's been happening, for a show that literally has them in uniforms it's had more unique outfits than many entire slice of life shows.

Andrew_Waltfeld

>That was a rather tasteful reveal in Yoshi and Mika's relationship. Its so natural yet so mysterious it doesn't feel out of place. What I like the most is the setup beforehand with Commander and Mika [being flat out denied by both people who worked with him before immediately and in Sync.](https://imgur.com/YAFvJ9C). They knew he was Gay.

PaperSonic

I imagine they both made fun of Kurumi and Takina for having no gaydar, lol.

elbenji

Chisato laying it on extra thick

BosuW

> TAKINA IN A SUIT. r/animewomeninsuits This is the peak of seducing fashion. Nothing else like it.

Ralath0n

Best appearance of the "anime girl in a suit" trope since [Revue of Souls for sure.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3rrQpwKwPI) Love the mature look it gives.

BosuW

The costume choice in Revue Starlight in general was top tier

Silent_Shadow05

>CHISATO IN A DRESS AND TAKINA IN A SUIT. Kinda got some Mayo Chiki vibes from this ngl. >That was a rather tasteful reveal in Yoshi and Mika's relationship. Its so natural yet so mysterious it doesn't feel out of place. People talking about Yuri vibes in this episode, and yet here was quite a lot of Yaoi vibes in there as well, with Yoshi doing the Kabedon, and talking about the promise by getting so close to Mika lol. >I thought Majima was sneaking into the police station not conduct a fucking raid there with his boys, this mans so fucking dangerous. Just like Chisato and her charisma that's stealing the show for me, Majima with his flamboyant nature is also doing the same.

n080dy123

>and yet here was quite a lot of Yaoi vibes in there as well, with Yoshi doing the Kabedon, and talking about the promise by getting so close to Mika lol. I'm kind of in awe at how husky his voice got when he leaned in close.

L3tucechhi

He's a super villain alright, he has PRESENTATION

cyberscythe

> Yuri vibes in this episode, and yet here was quite a lot of Yaoi vibes in there as well Yuri vibes, yes, but I can still easily think about Chisato and Takina's relationship as platonic. I think there was *a lot more* than just "vibes" for yaoi though between Yoshi and Mika. On top of the kabedon, the LycoReco team all seem to know that Mika isn't interested in women.

Serocco

Oh Mika and Yoshi are def gay, they wouldn't put a fucking kabedon if they didn't XD

maliwanag0712

Yes. It is an uneventful reveal but the tension is there. It's so realistic. And Takina and others are concerned on what Chisato would feel after. Well it seems that Chisato has some good emotional quotient to be okay after that.

JimmyCWL

>Well it seems that Chisato has some good emotional quotient to be okay after that. It doesn't seem like she faced anything that should have given her negative feelings. Confused, maybe.

Fit_University_6734

Seeing Chisato in a dress is one of the highlights of my week! Along with the amount of Yuri we got today [](#rengehype) How do you think Chisato took all the information in the last scene? She *seemed* fine - going back to work all smiles, but is she? I hope Chisato continues down the path of defying "fate" and doing what she believes is right. Just because someone saved you doesn't mean you owe your entire life to them.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

Chisato's motto is doing what she wants as her top priority after all, i doubt she'll actually do her "fated" mission. If it coincides with what she wants to do, maybe tho.

caiuscorvus

Nah dawg. That (after credits) scene with Chisato looking into the mirror was her trying to get her happy facade back on. Underneath she's pretty messed up.

Syokhan

I dunno... She claps twice before the pendant like you'd clap at a shrine, so I'm not so sure.

DecaffeinatedBean

omg you guys, did Chisato read Yoshi's lips at the bar??? I'm a dork and rewatched it already and on the 2nd time around (ok ok ok, it was the third time, I'm a dork and have no life) I noticed that it looks like Taki didn't know why Chisato was stopping and moving in closer and there's a shot where [Chisato looks at them at the bar](https://imgur.com/a/j8hAMnj), and then immediately after it's a close up of Yoshi's lips moving. AND it totally fits with her extraordinary eyesight thing!

CombatTechSupport

I think you're right, reading lips is right up Chisato's alley with her superhuman perception.

HereticalAegis

Hot damn Chisato's dress and Takina's suit! They look so damn good together! And the eye catches! We're blessed with so many great outfits today. And wow, if Chisato had suppressed her excitement for like 5 more seconds, she would've learned about the real reason the Alan Institute saved her.

cppn02

> And the eye catches! They were absolute fire today. Guess we'll need an OVA with Chisato and Takina in a rock band.

HereticalAegis

>Guess we'll need an OVA with Chisato and Takina in a rock band. Yes please! Why stop there though? I'd pay for monthly OVAs of Chisato and Takina doing every job imaginable together.

cppn02

Time to get a Kickstarter going I guess...

MapoTofuMan

>And the eye catches! [Takina](https://i.imgur.com/Ebo3vk0.png) definitely got some inspiration from Mio here

cyberscythe

I keep thinking about K-On when I see Chisato and Takina. Chisato seems like a cheerful amalgam of Yui and Ritsu, while Takina is like Mio and Azusa rolled into one.

MapoTofuMan

Chisato has that Mugi chaos factor too.

melindypants

>suppressed her excitement SO CLOSE but imagine finding the person responsible for saving your life after years of trying to figure it out. I don't blame her - what a tense scene at the bar! I wonder how Chisato really is feeling.

cppn02

Really liking how 'casual' and not overly dramatic this show is being about major plot reveals.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

i will like to commend the show for moving along its plot at such a brisk pace without anything feeling rushed or too jarring (bar the artificial heart reveal, but even that has been explained fully by now), everything makes sense

entelechtual

I feel like the show has been good for me in its mix of character focus and action/plot. I just hope it does build to something bigger in the last few episodes.

Mylaur

The entire show is brimming with realistic or organic stuff. Character, event, animation, it's incredible.

EPLWA_Is_Relevant

Yeah, I had to rewind for that reveal of "I blew up the tower". Haven't had such a casual drop since AOT.

dinliner08

one thing i didn't expect to see in this series was to see Mika getting *kabedon* by Shinji, it was wild

DecaffeinatedBean

Is [Chisato still wearing Boxers!](https://imgur.com/a/WeHojam)? And then right afterwards with her groaning about not being able to figure it out and [Kurumi overhearing and thinking she's constipated](https://imgur.com/a/iDONtLz). AND THEN they've got their [suspect sketches just taped up above the coffee bar!](https://imgur.com/a/J1hLjJh) LMAO! omfg I love this show!

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

i think she is still wearing them! what a good catch lol.

cyberscythe

> AND THEN they've got their suspect sketches just taped up above the coffee bar! do not accept cheques from these persons [](#angrypout)

DecaffeinatedBean

LMAO! Yes! Or I was also imagining them showing all the customers and asking them to choose which one was better. Man I wish a coffee shop like this existed in real life! Employees are all like family and goof around while doing business, AND if you hit it off and become friends with them, you get invited to board game nights after closing!!!!

Paxton-176

> Is Chisato still wearing Boxers! > ? How long were you staring at this to notice that. I was honestly laughing because it's rare to see an anime character on a toilet. (That isn't hentai)

nsfwaccount098

Please get together at the end

cyberscythe

The fun thing about anime originals is that, for better or worse, no one knows how it's actually going to play out.

InevitableChipmunk

NoTemperature4368

Kurumi saying she was 30 and Mizuki saying she was 20 were so hilarious! Absolute love Chisato in a dress and Takiba in a suit. They're so cute. The after credit really made things as interesting as never before. I guess there will be a big attack from Majima. Can't wait for the next ep!

cppn02

>Kurumi saying she was 30 and Mizuki saying she was 20 were so hilarious! Do we know their ages? I wonder which one of the two was further off their real age lol.

Syokhan

Website says Mizuki's 27, no age given for Kurumi.

Silent_Shadow05

It'd be funny if Kurumi genuinely is a 30-yr old but people don't believe her.

Andrew_Waltfeld

Considering the directions her Voice Actor was given to ignore the physical looks of her character, I would believe it. It was in the interview piece posted a week or two ago. [ See interview here](https://febri.jp/topics/lycoris_recoil_int1_2/) > ... I just asked Misaki Kuno, who plays the role of Kurumi, "I want you to play as an adult woman without being pulled by the picture,".... I am pretty sure Kurumi is at least 21.

mastesargent

She could be an unusually mature/precocious child though. I think that direction would fit that characterization.

Andrew_Waltfeld

I would normally agree, but we have not seen any trace of her hacker handle being passed down to her. Which means either she was a elite hacker when she was... 4 to 6 years old when she supposedly "died". So, gonna mark that as unlikely. Or she had to be at least 10 years old when she first "died" at the earliest I could see it. Which timeline wise would make her *at least 20.* Given the interview asking for adult women... most likely when she said she was 30 - that was probably her real age. It would fall in timeline with her first early "death" being in the teens, and then at the age of 20 - then the most recent at 30.

Bainos

Maybe she always was *the* Walnut and has been there since the dawn of the Internet.

cyberscythe

I was thinking that Walnut is like the Dread Pirate Roberts; she inherited the title from someone else, so the name is a lot older than her physical body.

zairaner

I guess we know what chisato counts as "public". In front of family, its completely ok!

Viktorv22

Find someone who's looking at you like Chisato at Takina...

TerriblePlays

Mika came out of nowhere with that huh. Was half expecting it half not expecting it tbh [The best gif to come out of this episode.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/990527996244946980/1008028605042937966/1660402641558484.gif)

Silent_Shadow05

It was absolutely funny, but my favorite of this episode was [Chisato hugging Takina and going "kochi-kochi"](https://i.imgur.com/qLWh3WQ.jpg) like a child. It was so adorable.

ElderBrony

She's getting a full on groping too.

RedSavant35

michhoffman

> The best gif to come out of this episode I didn't even need to click on it to know which one it was. The Yuri is strong with this one.

bakato

Lol. Takina draws like a child. Is Chisato's talent able to see past the fourth-wall? Anime characters don't usually recognize weird hair colors. Takina bumping into Shisato's ass was the yuri moment of the episode. Majima is also an Alan Child, which I suspected the during his debut, but he never seemed too impressive until his "balancing his smartphone on a guard rail" trick. Guess that explains his whole balance obsession. It's interesting he seems to have history with Chisato going back to the radio tower incident, where Chisato's seemed to be much younger. Did no one else notice how her skirt reached her ankles? Takina and Chisato formal wear as great, but I must admit the collar on Chisato seemed off. Let this be a lesson to you all. Don't leave your smartphones charging where other people can catch a glimpse of important text messages. Especially, when you're keeping secrets from a coworker under your care. A little late to be saying this but Mizuki is hot. How this woman doesn't have a boyfriend I'll never understand!

Silent_Shadow05

>A little late to be saying this but Mizuki is hot. How this woman doesn't have a boyfriend I'll never understand! Probably a bad drunk lol.

KumaKumaGambler

My exact thoughts. However, since Lycoris Recoil seems to be shipping yuri and yaoi, maybe a male-female relationship is a rarity in their universe. 11/10 would still hit on Mizuki. Partly for her amusing personality.

DecaffeinatedBean

I think Mizuki is underrated, she kind of gives me Jack Sparrow (from Black Pearl) vibes, tip-toeing the line between crazy and brilliant. Like she often has over-the-top reactions and is usually making goofy cracks, but while it looks like she's just "helplessly" smacking Jin while calling out for help, she's actually just using that as an act to pin a transmitter on him. Not to mention she is always cracking me up, even when she's scolding or taking shots at the others. I'm not sure if she really cares when she blows up at things like Chisato hiring the cleaners and Kurumi not doing coffee shop work, or if she's just using those reasons to entertain others with her outbursts.

Takina bummed onto chisato ass A NEW FETISH UNLOCKED

Its not new to me [but I will make sure the share the moment.](https://i.imgur.com/elueABy.mp4)

Oh, I did not think Chisato would learn the truth about Shinji so soon. But, well. Fuck Shinji. Let her decide what she wants to do with her life, goddammit! I felt sad for her, all happy that she finally got to meet her savior, but he only wants her to kill. It was a slower-paced episode today but I really liked it. Chisato and Takina all dressed-up were gorgeous. And we learned that Majima is the one who blew up the old tower, and he and Chisato already met each other? Oh boy. We're going to have a repeat of that incident with the new tower, but things are most likely not going to go the same way at all. (oh yeah, and he has an Alan Institute pendant. Is his talent being able to survive anything?) Also, I liked the way they revealed that Mika's gay. Yep, he swings that way, that's how it is, moving on. No big deal made out of it at all. Looking forward to next week!

sincereenfuego

I am hoping now that Shinji's involvment is known, then we might get to see more about the deal between Mika and him. I want to know if Mika knows that Shinji has essentially orchestrated a bunch of these attacks in hopes of getting Chisato to use her talent. Also, Shinji's ominous, "I have high hopes for you, Takina" really left a bad feeling in my gut. I 100% see him using her to get Chisato to actually kill instead of use the non-leathal bullets.

Banner_Hammer

Now I’m thinking that the first mission, where Takina killed that guy, was going to work, with them having a Lycoris as a hostage and forcing Chisato to kill, but Takina changed her fate by acting on her own.

sincereenfuego

Oooh. That is a good catch. I didn't even think of that. Though, I bet Shinji is happy with the outcome because now he can emotionally leverage Taking over Chisato.

Syokhan

> 100% see him using her to get Chisato to actually kill instead of use the non-leathal bullets. Oh yeah, agree ~~100%~~ 95% (gotta leave some margin for error lol)

Reemys

>agree > >100% > > 95% (gotta leave some margin for error lol) Most advanced theory maker on the planet.

Bainos

> Also, I liked the way they revealed that Mika's gay. Yep, he swings that way, that's how it is, moving on. It's funny that the scene was basically overshadowed by the disappoint reactions of Chisato and Miyuki realizing that it was *actually* a date. Also, quite nice how they subverted the trope, which I initially believed to be at play, of the café's boss not possibly having a romantic life. It's details like these that make characters feel like real people, rather than the target of cliché jokes.

zairaner

>But, well. Fuck Shinji. Let her decide what she wants to do with her life, goddammit! I felt sad for her, all happy that she finally got to meet her savior, but he only wants her to kill. But he also confusingly refuses to tell her what the alans institute actually wants her to do. That fits with their non-intervention thing but obviously shinji is far, far beyond just intervention with everything he already has done. I don't get it, chisato is so thankful to him that it might work (or might ahve worked in the past at least).

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

best wishes to Takina's seiyuu Shion Wakayama, who is resting due to COVID right now! I LOVE THIS SHOW. HOLY PLOT BATMAN. After credits scene alert! SHIT ABOUT TO GET EVEN REALER. - I'm loving [how many emotions Takina shows rn](https://imgur.com/9e0B6Ja). I wonder what manga Takina reads? - [oh what a good frame](https://imgur.com/lM9Ocrw) for the hype. We learn so much about Chisato, sensei, shinji, and majima this episode too - [LMAOO WITH THE CHISATO NOISES](https://imgur.com/TPgiqkY) - Mah. [can't say i wasnt expecting that one](https://imgur.com/sGVJGzx). If we say Chisato 1 Majima 0 for the radio tower, and their recent encounter was kind of a tie, mild victory to Majima, then the next one, likely w/ the new tower, is the tiebreaker huh. - [Fuki and sensei???????](https://imgur.com/jVja9U3) hm????? - [THIS EYECATCH HAS WENT THE HARDEST OF ALL EYECATCHES IN ALL OF ANIME HISTORY](https://imgur.com/a/o0AILDK). ok i exaggerate but i LOVEEEE THIS. - i love how the gang's initial reaction to sensei meeting with shinji was that they're a gay couple lmao. i have increased faith in the yuri..... but actually.... are Shiniji and Mika gay for each other....? hmmm? (i ship.) Seems like they both helped to save Chisato, and that her heart was implanted w/ a surgery (no surprises there). But Mika has obv gone a lot softer now, while Shinji... has not. Takina, likewise, does not agree w/ Shinji's POV. I don't think the Takina betraying Chisato theory is gonna manifest itself btw, i do think these two will be buddy-buddies, Chisato has fully converted her by now. - I really really love [Chika Anzai](https://imgur.com/TZmQ1UB) ~~Kousaka Reina~~'s performance for that scene as Chisato finally meets Shinji, btw, and what a pretty dress. - It's confirmed that Chisato is the person with the "talent for killing". But what is Majima's mission/talent then...? Seems like a third showdown between these 2 will be soon! - the [halo around Mizuki](https://imgur.com/4jxeS9P) disappearing after Kurumi [has deleted the ID](https://imgur.com/SygnrgD). I cant even hahahaha. the jokes this episode landed REALLY well imo - [This cut showed up in the PV, didn't it?](https://imgur.com/uN8gWdd) Just how much production schedule was given for this show... (it's a great thing, and probably shows in this show's quality overall) - Im so hyped for whats about to come next!

SnabDedraterEdave

Poor Fuki, her crush will remain just that, a crush, as its been revealed Mika is gay.

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

not a massive fan of Fuki, but still.... [**F**](#toradorasalute)

>[can't say i wasnt expecting that one](https://imgur.com/sGVJGzx) His first attempt at balancing!

DrScorcher

This show becomes gayer every week and I'm so here for it.

Silent_Shadow05

It used to be heavy on Yuri stuff but we got a balance here with Yaoi stuff as well. ~~Maybe Majima's real purpose was to bring balance in Yuri-Yaoi parts~~

melindypants

Best of both worlds! How exciting

CheekyCuntata

I'm here for Chisato's bakery.

Castawaye

The way Chisato just kind of stands there as Yoshi walks away, the quietness of that shot and the emptiness around her, really reminded me of Healer Girl, when Kana learns about who saved her in an unceremonious way. There's a stark disappointment of having your goals be met in such a sudden and normal way. There was really no room for a big celebration or anything and the feelings of being happy she found who she was looking for was a bit muted, if not sad even. Of course Chisato bounces back pretty easily, but I think that brief glimpse of mellowness was quite powerful. The show I think has really excelled in these moments especially regarding the main characters. They play up these impactful moments so calmly, with, even a nice coat of tenderness for the reality of the situation. She has just met the person she's been wanting to thank and that same person well, isn't really reciprocating, or seemingly caring for what she wants to do.

The tradition of best girls wearing suits continues [](#SPORTS) Takina looking FIRE! Wish we could have had a fight scene in their outfits though!

Bainos

Takina in a suit was very good. But Takina untying her ponytail as she's leaving the bar after the mission is complete ? That's deadly amounts of awesome. [](#utahapraises)

AmethystItalian

I also took screenshots of that, was very nice of them to include that shot [](#seasonalapproval)

it i think requrires a gif honestly...

I didn't even think about that...it's going to be glorious.

entelechtual

Chisato grabbing onto Takina’s boobs like they’re handrails. Takina in a suit. Takina bumping into Chisato’s ass. What did we do to deserve this show??

heyman83

Yuri fiends (including me) are eating hella good today.

Se7en_Sinner

Yuri enjoyers feasting better than Takina on Chisato's butt today.

ObvsThrowaway5120

None of those drawings looked like Majima, but damn did Fuki draw that sketch? If so, wow. Takina’s looks like something I would have drawn in grade school and Chisato’s was def very manga like lol. Didn’t expect Majima to have been connected to the tower incident. Little Chisato must have been terrifying back when she was using live rounds. Majima seems to be sending quite the message with that police station attack. The girls almost getting busted by Mika was pretty funny. I can’t believe that udon excuse worked lol. And wow! Chisato in that dress! Damn, girl haha. Takina looked great in her suit too. What the heck does kabayaki taro mean? Kurumi was cracking up pretty hard over it. But I guess now Chisato knows about Yoshi, though I wonder how much she knows about Alan Children. I like the chemistry between Chisato and Takina, but I like the little back and forths with Kurumi too. The Mizuki and Kurumi moments are fun as well. Mizuki was gonna snag herself a man at the bar haha. That dress looked killer though! She was literally glowing lol. But man, what an ending. Majima’s one of these Alan Children too? That how he’s connected to Yoshi? Anyways, with that hack a success, shit is gonna pop off pretty soon.

zairaner

>but damn did Fuki draw that sketch No, fuki explicitly denies that there is any reason for her to draw him because she hasn't seen him

melindypants

>that sketch It reminds me of that scene from Hakozume where they were trying to draw the suspect - always hilarious to see the results

introspectrive

So it’s all coming together a bit. Chisato‘s talent is to kill, and that explains why the Alan Institute has conspired the last few episodes— but to what end? But she’d rather help people and make them happy— maybe that’s the cause of her cheerful personality? And our green-haired hard-to-draw manga character was behind the tower incident as well. I just wonder how direct his connection to the Institute is. Really, they seem like the end villains here a bit. Also, so much eye candy this episode. Chisato and Tanaki dressed up were absolute perfection, and it had so many hilarious scenes as well! Really finds a nice balance between light-hearted humor and the rather dark story. And, as an end note, I liked the way they handled Mika‘s sexuality, because the reveal was rather casual and not played for laughs. That’s how it’s supposed to be done! So hyped for the next episode, and this series was really worth watching while it’s broadcasting!

Aerodynamic41

TAKINA IN A SUIT! AHHHH! This is too much for me to handle!

cppn02

Question: Suit Takina with pony tail or hair down?

Random_personXDD

Both are good but SUIT TAKINA WITH PONY TAIL IS JUST- ASDFGHJKLSK

WeebDickerson

Yoshimatsu telling Takina that he has high hopes for her is a very bad omen. I think the Alan Institute is likely going to come up with some fucked up strategy to try to make Chisato kill by using Takina as bait

MapoTofuMan

4 minutes in, and Chisato's making heavy grunting noises on a toilet. Didn't know what to expect after last episode but I'm satisfied. ^(And I'll be even more satisfied once the obscene amount of dressed-up Chisato and Takina rolls out over the next week)

mysterybiscuitsoyeah

awww yesssssss im so looking forward to the fanart. TAKINA IN A SUITTTTTT

* [**Episode Eyecatches**](https://imgur.com/a/VvjroyR) [I love Takina and Chisato's sketches of Majima.](https://i.imgur.com/KHaZKHS.png) Takina isn't even close and looks like Chisato only got the hair colour right. Sakura is right, [mybe they should at least include art](https://i.imgur.com/9Jnik6O.png) in the Lycoris curriculum. xD I'm not even sure how [Chisato came to the conclusion](https://i.imgur.com/yVJncks.png) that the cafe will get shut down [from that tiny snippet of a message](https://i.imgur.com/Zfni80P.jpg) Mika received. Maybe this is something Chisato has been dreading for a while now? [And just like that Majima casually reveals](https://i.imgur.com/uQpytRS.png) that he was the one behind the tower incident and it looks like [he already faced Chisato back then too.](https://i.imgur.com/x26mzzX.png) I'm surprised he's alive considering how ruthless Chisato looks like back then. [Well this is unexpected.](https://i.imgur.com/0uzYL9S.png) I didn't think Fuki would have a crush on Mika. I don't think there's any other way to explain that intense blushing when he showed up. [The girls acting like a bunch of idiots](https://i.imgur.com/WT7lVtm.png) when Mika peeked back inside the cafe just to remind them about closing up was hilarious! I'm surprised he didn't suspect them of being up to anything after that. Maybe he's just used to their weirdness by now. xD [Takina in a suit](https://i.imgur.com/Dk3Ercu.png) and [Chisato in that red dress](https://i.imgur.com/ZkQSX0e.png) both look so goddamn amazing! A bit disappointed that this episode didn't lead to a firefight. They'd look so cool shooting guns while wearing those outfits. I love the reveal that [Mika is actually gay.](https://i.imgur.com/EVILXkj.png) Seems that Chisato and Mizuki already knew about it which explains why they think that the possibility of the Commander and Mika meeting is much spicier. Now they just think they're intruding on a date. [Chisato would've left if she didn't hear Mika and Yoshi's conversation.](https://i.imgur.com/9Ii2Z4L.png) Welp, looks like the jig is up [Chisato can be as thankful as she wants to Yoshi](https://i.imgur.com/Yu8oRQH.png) but it looks like [Yoshi just decided to stay quiet](https://i.imgur.com/VxSeGUs.png) about the details. [Mika and Yoshi's conversation at the elevator](https://i.imgur.com/PCl8tSm.png) was interesting though. It seems that whatever Yoshi has been planning this entire time, Mika was aware of it. Sounds like he knew what he was doing when he let Jin go a couple of episodes ago. [I'm also curious about this promise that they made to each other](https://i.imgur.com/siqrtLH.png) and what that means for Chisato. Hmmm... [Misaki glowing thinking that she can enter that exclusive bar again](https://i.imgur.com/VChM8y9.png) only to find out that [Kurumi disabled her gold ID card was hilarious!](https://i.imgur.com/rRX4lox.png) Better luck next time Misaki. xD

AZJames34

This episode got me from rolling to having some serious sinking feeling in my stomach, really hard. Some serious major red flags \-the continual mentioning of Chisato's "time", it's been consistent thus far \-Shinji got interested in Takina...DON'T PLS Brought back my depression and worries on the likely ending scenarios. I just wanna remember the fun parts Where both girls drew like shit The LycoReco girls trying to pretend they aren't going to following Mika Takina ran right into Chisato's booties The casual reveal that Mika and Shinji are in fact gay af, already hinted from EP5 PV etc

dagreenman18

Okay, so they’re spelling out the deal with the Alan Children in this one. Basically that they’re identified early on to have a specific talent, and the organization helps them in exchange for fulfilling a “mission” with that talent. Chisato’s talent is she’s a god-tier killer thanks to her great eyes and genius brain. Either she had a heart issue or something happened that required her to get a mechanical heart to save her life. In exchange, her “mission” is to basically kill for Lycoris. Mika didn’t want that for her and is begging Yoshi to let her live her life. Mika also has some history, probably romantic, with Yoshi but that mostly just heightens the tension between them. A whole lot to unpack there, but excellent execution. Everything is intuited from the previous subtext and new bits of info. Nothing is smashed over our heads. No dramatic blow-ups about how the person who saved her’s identify this was kept from Chisato and there was a heartfelt moment of gratitude. That the VA and animation just nail. Same with the woven in hilarious bits with the girls’ fearing Mika is talking to the commander so they’re on a mission to “Save LycoReco”. Goofballs. The stakes are raised in the Makima storyline with the reveal he’s the one who attacked the tower, that Chisato is the one who stopped him, and that he’s also an Alan Child. After credits showed off the next target and that the USB the hacker made has been planted. This probably kicks off the endgame for the season. I’m personally optimistic so far that the ending will be open ended. This seems like a season long arc and they could easily do many seasons. And I would love it because this show is fantastic. Notes - I figured the reason Chisato and Mizuki were going “no, no, no” was because one of them was gay, but I honestly expected the Commander, not Mika. Also, golf clap for LGBTQ representation. Takina is so oblivious to romance that she didn’t get it. Walnut was just annoyed no one told her. - I do love a truly cursed “characters attempt drawing” scene and the opening was hilarious for that one. - If the tower incident was that long ago, then tiny Chisato was running around causing mayhem and wrecking dudes. I really want that incident animated. - I also hope we see more of Chisato and Mika’s relationship because it looks so wholesome. Mika’s really fighting for Chisato to live a happy life.

cyberscythe

> Nothing is smashed over our heads. No dramatic blow-ups about how the person who saved her’s identify this was kept from Chisato and there was a heartfelt moment of gratitude. Yeah, I like how everyone is taking these turn of events with grace instead of blowing up or breaking down. Maybe the only exception is when Mika pulls a gun on Yoshi in the elevator. It's an interesting break for his character because he's pretty unflappable normally, so it's interesting seeing him in that state. I think Yoshi was confident that he wouldn't pull the trigger even if Mika said he had the conviction (Mika even says as much afterwards).

x-7032-b-3

Bro they just revealed that Majima faced Little Chisato in the tower like it was nothing lol. And all this talk about Chisato being saved feels like we need a flashback ep to understand the whole context of it. There's some footage of her fighting terrorists in a promo video they released a few weeks back so fingers crossed we get one soon. Also this ep in general is pretty much the calm before the storm with all the Majima/Robota stuff in the background. Can't wait to see what's next.
