Pretty much lol. Most of these kinds of series start as freely-viewable 'web novels', which are basically like fan fiction except for being original works, on the story-posting platform syosetu.com ([here's the page for the series in question](https://ncode.syosetu.com/n3654ee/)), and then once they gain a following some will get professionally published as light novels, and again the most successful of those may eventually get manga and/or anime adaptations.
It's also why a lot of novel titles have the entire story in them, since it's easier explain the premise to people to grab their attention rather than hope they click some random title
Add isekai + op MC + harem + school setting together and you get a substantial amount of readers alone. Anything else that even gets close to originality is toeing the line to cancelation half the time.
Not the ln scene actually. Its the Web novel scene.
Those with long weird names have been discovered on a fanfiction like site.
Here they get discovered and the popular ones get adapted to a light novel. Since it had sequred fanbase.
That's what I thought too, went into it expecting complete trash. Was very pleasantly surprised, it's actually a great comedy, completely unironically. All the jokes land and the main character is very endearing.
First episode was great but it didn't really reveal much about what the anime is actually going to be about, so it is hard to say much yet (unless there's any source readers here).
The first few chapters of the manga were the best imo by vol 2 I started getting a bit bored
I'd prob give it 9/10 for vol 1 and 7/10 for the rest but I rate ~1 higher than most ppl on mal
The light novel is spectacular, and if they don't fuck it up, I have a feeling the anime is going to be great. Hopefully they do it justice, as it gets rather gore-y and body-horror-y in interesting ways. We're talking Berserk's eclipse, 80s OVA-tier, people-folding-in-on-themselves, multiple-chest-busts-in-a-row levels of gore and body-horror.
Though it would be very easy to fuck up, as the author really loves the idea of the "concept" of things, and it'd be really hard to animate a lot of what's in there. I don't know if this team/budget is up to the task.
I enjoyed the first episode a lot. But I've also discovered that I tend to be a *huge* fan of "Yuri shows that are ostensibly about other things and romance might drive the plot from the background but isn't particularly the focus of the series" like Princess Principal and Otherside Picnic. So I might be biased. Still haven't watched Ep 2 yet (will get to that tonight before I go to bed) but I didn't see anything I disliked in the first ep.
It was more like an underlying thing than anything in the forefront, but it's pretty easy to surmise that [Princess Princpal] >!Ange loves Charlotte, and it's probable that Charlotte loves Ange as well. Ange dedicated and risked her life to rescue Charlotte, joined the military, joined the spy academy, proposed Operation Changeling, and was willing to throw away absolutely everything she built up by double-crossing her own handlers and fleeing to the villa in *Casablanca* that she'd secretly bought for her and Charlotte to live in. Oh and Ange also dreams about having *alone time* with Charlotte in said villa. Then, for Charlotte's part, she addresses a letter to Ange "My Turtledove" (in English) which is a huge term of romantic endearment.!<
In an official interview with either the director or writer, when asked about the yuri elements of the series, the official reply was something like "We didn't write them to be lesbians but we didn't *not* write them to be lesbians and we want the viewers to decide" which is a very *wink wink, nudge nudge* type of answer. Plus they put out official promo art like [this](https://i.imgur.com/xv7mRXq.png) and [this](https://i.imgur.com/HO8XgZX.png) and [this](https://i.imgur.com/Qc6L0wk.png) and [***this***](https://i.imgur.com/xhwDD2s.png) and after a certain amount of evidence piles up, I think it's fair to stop calling it subtext.
But, no, in terms of traditional lovey-dovey romance, PrinPrin did not have that. Too many spy capers going on, not enough free time. But I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that romance is the driving force of a lot of what happens in the series.
Yeah there's no subtext to that promo art.
I dunno why Princess Principle went over my head since usually my anime gaydar alerts over the slightest signs.
Executioner and Her Way of Life ep. 1 spoilers:
>!It’s about an Executioner named Menou who’s job is to kill isekai’d people, which why is revealed in the show. She later finds a girl who she can’t kill, and goes on a journey to find a way to execute her (it’s all on the MAL plot synopsis so…)!< It’s honestly a really good watch (on HIDIVE). Ik it’s gonna go under the radar but it had a rockin episode 1! JC Staff rly pulling their weight with this one
yeah it's definitely an interesting story. If you do check it out, give it till where they get to near the end of the first vol. that's where I was sold on the story.
Post is only a day old and karma is already up by over 40%.
It's biggest issue for now is that there are still two bigger shows on thursday although I can already see it overtake the Skeleton isekai next week.
It still a dark horse in the sense that before the show started, No one really really hyping for it. Source material is also not well know either. Like the Akebi last season.
This season's Akebi might be Healer Girl or Deaimon, in that sense.
Although going on first episodes alone, I feel like Deaimon might be more Ranking of Kings or Vanitas, and Healer Girl play Akebi's part.
...gonna be earnest, with the comparison to the winter season. Both of these might become the *slow loop* instead. unless some pushing campaign is happening.
Yeah, Kongming will be top of the "middleweight" class for this season on reddit.
It certainly won't dethrone Kaguya, et al. But Kongming will still lead us to glorious victory nonetheless.
Pretty good list, no Deaimon is a bummer though, for me it's currently competing with Kongming for AOTS leaving everything else in the dust. And that's despite the fact that half the shows I've tried so far would *easily* take last season's non-sequel AOTS title for me judging by the 1st episode alone.
~~^(Well, until tomorrow at least because Spy X Family exists)~~
With Crunchyroll removing everything I've just had to pirate all my anime. Unfortunately I can't tell you which site it is without getting yeeted by mods :/
It's more of a action-thriller in a isekai than just yuri, even if the mains are indeed lesbians and there is a clear romantic subplot between them.
Plus, it was well animated (so far), and had a good twist in the middle of it's opening.
Lots of fun shows in there!
**Tomodachi Game** and **Ya Boy Kongming** are my #1 and #2 of the season so far (though I do feel like they're gonna drop a spot when a certain show airs today hah).
**Tomodachi** is no surprise, when I read the synopsis I knew it was probably gonna be my favorite new show this season.
**Kongming**, on the other hand, IS a big surprise! I didn't even think I would keep this one, I thought I'd just give it 1 episode to see what it's like... But damn, it's really enjoyable so far! The main 3 characters are all interesting&fun, and the music is great, especially the OP!
I was thinking of watching tomodachi game but stopped myself because of previous shows like it being pretty generic and bland (think King's Game). Is there anything about it that shows good promise?
I haven't watched King's game so I can't say how it compares, but so far I think it's pretty good!
As for 'generic'... Well, psychological game anime probably make up for <1% of anime, so I definitely wouldn't call that generic (especially not compared to stuff like isekai/fantasy that make up probably 25% of all anime, things like that).
Fair, by generic I guess I should have meant in regards to how nuanced the cast is. Too often I see psychological survival-esque anime having too stereotypical character archetypes and end up having incredibly predictable plots.
I'll give it a couple of episodes and see how it goes o7
A Chinese strategist from the Three Kingdoms era is transported to the modern world, meet an aspiring singer and decides to help her succeed, using his experience with strategies and stuff.
It sounds a bit silly (and I suppose it *is* a bit silly), but it's actually very enjoyable imho!
I feel like audience tastes when it comes to Not!Beatrice and the Outfit-of-Perpetual-Panty-Shots will have a lot of bearing on whether or not it thrives or dies in any given poll.
For me it was actually being a sequel series of an unfinished show (Grimoire of Zero) and after Higurashi I don't want to risk it, unless I'm already caught up with the original series.
I looked it up and apparently this one takes place in the same universe but way after the events of grimore of zero (really good show btw, needs more seasons)
Low voters this week.
Outside of this list I would like to give a mention to **Deaimon** , this one is shaping up to be a good little emotional episodic SOL show with kid.
Can you sell me on it? A quick glance at the PV gives me a sort of vibes similar to Taisho Otome Fairytale combined with Dagashi Kashi and Sweetness & Lightning.
EDIT: Thanks for your comments everyone.
Musician who is a *nut* moves back home a decade after abandoning his family business to find his parents took in a discarded child. The MC also cries anytime he sells his family’s handmade desserts and is a lyrical genius who can come up with cute songs on the spot. There’s family drama but It’s warming, wholesome and should bring the feel good vibes.
With just 1 episode aired I don't have much to sell you. The show is about a competent child that will become a successor of the traditional sweet store and a bit immature 30 years old that got roped into become her parental figure. while both having their own problem that they carry.
From what we seen, their relationship and how they deal with a problem of the week (or a character with their own problem) seem to be the forefront of the show, while the sweet store stuff is in the background. I can see this getting tropey, but it might be in a good trope. Very well rounded show.
I’m happy about Executioner and Kongming being in Top 3 but it kinda hurts to know that they are going to be against Kaguya and SpyXFamily from this week onward
I hope that they at least remain in Top 5 for the rest of the season
I just pretend the #1 and #2 slots for *insert whatever highly popular anime is airing* doesn't exist. Actually makes the leader boards interesting again.
Ya Boy Kongming's OP is my favorite so far. The visuals, the colors, the choreography and the music, oh my, its such a [banger!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYmznjPfosE)
Holy christ this is good. Not enough to beat my fripside bias for [the dawn of the witch op](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx70K2nUSrg) song, but I realy didn't expect anything else this season to come that close for me.
Someone commented on the discussion thread that the song is actually a [Japanese cover of this song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRjLbePQg1o) by Jolly.
That's not saying Dawn of the Witch's OP isn't good, it very much is (and I also love fripSide) but Kongming does feel like its on another level.
And the winner of the one week that won't be a toss up between Kaguya and Spy x Family is...The Executioner And Her Way of Life? I've heard good things about the premier so it makes sense that it's high up, but it's pretty unexpected to see it claim the top spot.
It's good to see Tomodachi Game and Aharen in the Top 10 as well, but Machikado Mazoku being outside the Top 10 is a shame.
One other note: The vote total of 5106 is historically low even for a first week
>One other note: The vote total of 5106 is historically low even for a first week
It is indeed surprising to see after the usual 10k+ votes in the past. Kaguya and Spy x Family will bump up the numbers once the come out.
I expect to see a lot more back and forth going on here compared to karma charts, which would make it quite interesting.
That's fair but I actually didn't expect it to get 5k votes this week. With a high profile show like Shield Hero present here, I expected the votes to be in the range of 8-9k.
Most of the 10k+ votes were from Covid-19 and as Covid-19 because more of a thing in the background and some sense of normal returns, expect Karma scores to plummet further as people are no longer shut in their houses. The 2020/2021 scores are a exception - not the norm.
Well too be fair… nether episodes of Kaguya and Spy are release yet… I suspect they’ll sweep this chart one they start airing. Not to mention Demon Girl literally aired first episode yesterday so it might not be eligible for the ranking yet.
EDIT: Neveemind it’s in 12th. Well… hope it’ll make it next week
If it wasn't able to make it this week, it definitely won't make it with Kaguya, Spy x Family, Shikimori and a few others being added to the fray. But it is at least doing quite well in terms of [Karma](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/tyiwhm/machikado_mazoku_2choume_episode_1_discussion/).
Expecting Kaguya, Spy x Family, Shield Hero and Shikimori to hold down 4 spots. So it's a fight for the 6 spots this season. Wonder which shows will have a constant presence.
My money's on _I'm Quitting Heroing._ Seems like a decent fantasy action-comedy that most folks can get into, from the pilot. Though I haven't gotten round to seeing Skeleton Knight yet.
Knowing Anime Corner, we're going to have mad fun with the rankings this season, seeing how stacked the lineup is.
_Kongming_ definitely has the better written pilot of the two, even though I enjoyed _I Quit Heroing_'s pilot more than I did Kongming's. _Kongming_'s premise is really entertaining though and I'm really looking forward to seeing him apply some Three Kingdoms era strategy to help Eiko achieve her dream.
As someone who has read the first 3 volumes of Nobody, I have a feeling that it'll drop pretty hard after a few episodes. It's the most cliche of cliche OP stories but not really in a fun way.
Honestly, if it was not ENGI adapting it and if it didn't have that artstyle, I would've expected MobuSeka (Trapped in a Dating Sim) to be way more popular in r/anime than what it is now. r/manga already likes it very much and LN's are also decently popular.
> if it didn't have that artstyle
I do recall a decent bit of controversy about the character design changes, especially the eyes. That said, I think that most people will get on board for their season isekai fill when the show has that sort of general artstyle. In some ways, I feel like it's almost an advantage, as it's "part of the isekai package", unless you're aiming for Re:Zero or MT territory.
One major issue I found with the adaptation is that the series composition/direction aspect of the adaptation seems to suffer from a serious lack of any idea about how to put the elements together. Each individual segment was pretty good (and the opening sequence outright fantastic), but it felt like disjointed plot events on a slideshow rather a continuous narrative. In some ways it felt like there were 3-4 individuals stories, each featuring a different MC.
i am surprised it is in the list at all, considering how low budget it looks.
this as a ft ln reader that loves this series and considers it 9n the top5% of Isekai.
Yeah it's following the trend of "cute girls doing a random niche activity," but this time it's sports shounen-esque extreme golf with gambling and degeneracy sprinkled in. I fucking love it.
I’m calling this one an outlier. With the heavy hitters premiering the next 2 days and the very low respondent count I don’t see many of these holding to next week.
I will go ahead and stump for Aheren-San. It might get lost in the RomCom shuffle, but trust me it’s on par with Kaguya. It’s just as wholesome as it is hilarious.
> , but trust me it’s on par with Kaguya
Nah it definitely isn't. It had a good first episode but it pretty much ran with the same joke over the whole episode.
You're totally right about the first episode, but this last episode introduced way more gags. While nothing is on par with Kaguya, the gags in episode 2 made me excited to watch the rest of the season.
> I will go ahead and stump for Aheren-San. It might get lost in the RomCom shuffle, but trust me it’s on par with Kaguya. It’s just as wholesome as it is hilarious.
I get the feeling it will do pretty decently on reddit, the meme team are already hard at work using screen caps.
They’re gonna have plenty to work with. “Bone Conduction” is just the beginning. Fingers crossed with get a very silly moment from early on in the manga today.
Ngl as a source reader, I was at first was scared at J.C Staff makin this one (fuckin look at the other isekais they’ve producers) but holy hell I’m SO HAPPY this show has Railgun levels of polish and animation. Never would of expected for something as obscure as a series such as this. Makes me SO HAPPY!
Kinda sucks it’s rating on anime review sites isn’t the best cause it’s first episode did something pretty damn controversial and bold lol but alas. I’m so happy with its adaptation so far
It's not too far behind them in the most anticipated of the season poll:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/tq8irm/top\_10\_most\_anticipated\_anime\_spring\_2022\_anime/](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/tq8irm/top_10_most_anticipated_anime_spring_2022_anime/)
You ahve to remember that mostly on the really dedicated vote in the survey...DS was only slightly behind aot last season, and there starts couldn't ahve be mroe different popularity wise
It's a reddit favorite. Not sure how popular it'll be outside of this site, but if we're just considering what the potential reddit karma will be, then Shikimori should be one to watch out for.
But then again, as Gigguk pointed out, she's clearly made to be "Best Girl" bait, so... take from that what you will.
Sequel of a science based romcom, with two scientists who try to prove love, scientifically.
Adult-based romcom, thought it was worth mentioning, given most romcoms are highschool/middleschool! (Think they're like 23 or something).
It also had a strong S1 finale, for a romcom in its first season.
> is the science one good?
It's fantastic, both as a comedy and as a romance.
> what is it about?
Love is ~~War~~ What, Exactly, and Can We Prove It? It's an atypical comedy-romance, where the post-graduate cast work in an information sciences lab and our two leads are trying to more rigorously define what love is, so that they can ascertain whether or not it exists between them.
College romcom. Now go watch it.
In all seriousness, it's about a couple of maidenless scientists who experimented on themselves to determine the scientific properties of love because the girl confessed her feelings to the guy. A solid one among the genre amidst the heavy barrage of highschool romance.
Anyone else a little disappointed with Shield Hero Season 2? It doesn't look bad but it's definitely a downgrade. Could just be the art style, or it's possible that the first episode just looked a little scuffed because of budget/time constraints and the studio prioritizing other episodes, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
I do not expect half the shows up here to last more than the time it takes for everything to be in release cycles, but hey, early anime gets a spot on the top 10 list
Only machine-translated subs even then AFAIK, and most people would rather wait than have to deal with that garbage. Decent quality fan subs take time.
The Demon Girl Next Door s2 only at number #12? Come on! This a solid feel good sol comedy anime that should have more viewers.
I gotta give KongMing a try based on what others are saying.
Tomodachi Game. I dropped this. The first episode I thought was weak. It's like Squid Game but only worse? I'll read a few more comments if I should watch it.
Stick to the manga of Tomodachi Game but if you didn't like it in anime form I don't see you enjoying it,and that's ok since I felt the same on 1st episode
Executioner and her way of life is such a good light novel. Im really excited for the anime but it seemed like it wasnt going to be popular this season since I havent seen much talk about it.
>The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn As A Typical Nobody Anime so generic even the name is generic.
Makes me wonder, do publishers give lisence to wattpad fanfic writers, cause 90% of isekais have exactly same cliché premisel.

Yep. Some popular series, such as KonoSuba and Re:ZERO started just like that.

First episode was somehow better than the source material as well.... Kind of impressive
Wait, the source was worse than that? And I already had hesitation to even click on episode 2.
You act like the 1st episode was a disaster, compared to some of the shit that aired last season, I'd say it was pretty solid.
nah man i felt els 1 was cringe tbh. Light novel starting was better imo and more back story was given. dunno about manga
he's probably talking about the manga. It was really generic, but at least it didn't fall on it's face.
Was talking about manga. So confirmed there.
Is it going to be even more generic than "strongest sage with the weakest crest"? That was the most generic anime I've ever seen
That's what I thought too, went into it expecting complete trash. Was very pleasantly surprised, it's actually a great comedy, completely unironically. All the jokes land and the main character is very endearing.

Ooooh I'm going to save up episodes and binge them. I love a good gore/horror anime.
i am sure it was JC staff bring their A team to work in this, the team work in Railgun series and you know it means serious business
I enjoyed the first episode a lot. Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation! I'll check it out at some point.
check it out now. I gave it a shot and it blew my expectations away. I love shows like these that subvert the genre.
yeah it's definitely an interesting story. If you do check it out, give it till where they get to near the end of the first vol. that's where I was sold on the story.
So today is Kaguya sama and tomorrow SxF.
The battle of [the](https://i.redd.it/ynt6kw9lbgb21.jpg) [smugs](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/553/316/9c9.png) will be legendary
Yor kills, Anya destroys xD
Hot take: SxF is just kaguya and shirogane getting married with Fujiwara as their daughter
When you realize that Yor's brother looks like Ishigami
Kaguya Sama and The Multiverse of Madness
I’m positive this is canon, hot take or not.
Seems accurate.
Date A Live has come to top the charts!
Pfft.... O kawaii koto
**OUR** BOY KONGMING
We must watch Kongming three times before he shall lead us to the number one spot.
That intro song is such an earworm. lol. on a side note Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story also seems like a great show so far.
Man I can tell that I will love it as much as I loved Dress up Darling last season.
Underwatched show. Binged 2 episodes today and was worth it
> **OUR** https://youtu.be/U06jlgpMtQs
Show is enough fun to be in the Top 10 every week. Hopefully it reaches Top 10 in the reddit karma charts.
Glad to see YaBoy KongMing at top 3, probably the dark horse of the season
Got a ton of attention for its OP, feels like it's already out of dark horse territory lol
MAL rating jumped by like 0.15 since yesterday too, it's gaining traction faster than \[Kongming spoilers\]>!Eiko's getting followers!<
It's also gonna have some big karma increase on here this week.
Really? Didn't know that, should increase even more next week without 8372873827372 countdowns in the front page
Post is only a day old and karma is already up by over 40%. It's biggest issue for now is that there are still two bigger shows on thursday although I can already see it overtake the Skeleton isekai next week.
I am not watching the show but that Op visuals are great and made me interested, might give it a try
You really should!
I’ll watch it because of its name. It’s so funny and intriguing lol
Deaimon has better characters than HG, imo. *Heroines Run the Show* looks good for "country girl comes to high school".
Already seeing a lot of big name Twitter accounts talk about it and it's one of the most talked about new shows in this thread.
Yeah, that doesn't really contradict with the definition of the dark horse tho. But I get what you try to say.
Just considering how BONKERS the show is, it's hard not to talk about it.
Very happy its getting the love, deserves it.
Yeah, Kongming will be top of the "middleweight" class for this season on reddit. It certainly won't dethrone Kaguya, et al. But Kongming will still lead us to glorious victory nonetheless.
We just need to lure people into watching and trap them there!
Deaimon's gonna be the "barely top 15 on the rankings but everyone who watches it loves it" show of the season.
Question, I have crunchyroll but some of these are not up there. Is there another app or mobile friendly website I can watch the rest of these on?
Just do a bit of trolling if you know what I mean
Number 1, 3, and 8 are on hidive.
Thank you!
yarrr
With Crunchyroll removing everything I've just had to pirate all my anime. Unfortunately I can't tell you which site it is without getting yeeted by mods :/

Yo boy kongming is surprisingly a great anime, i wish people dont drop it when the big hits comes out (SXF, summertime render..).
RIP summertime render going to be in Disney+ jail
Yoooo I'm surprised a yuri anime is #1 damn
I'll give it a couple of episodes and see how it goes o7
that’s Ya Boy about?
A Chinese strategist from the Three Kingdoms era is transported to the modern world, meet an aspiring singer and decides to help her succeed, using his experience with strategies and stuff. It sounds a bit silly (and I suppose it *is* a bit silly), but it's actually very enjoyable imho!
it's a shame Dawn of the Witch didn't make the list, i enjoyed the first episode quite a lot
Opinions on the spoileriness seem to be mixed, but I've already seen one comment that suggests it does reveal major plot points.
I looked it up and apparently this one takes place in the same universe but way after the events of grimore of zero (really good show btw, needs more seasons)
That seems like a lot of isekai
Low voters this week. Outside of this list I would like to give a mention to **Deaimon** , this one is shaping up to be a good little emotional episodic SOL show with kid.
Definitely the standout new show of this week, for me. Really nice first episode.
Can you sell me on it? A quick glance at the PV gives me a sort of vibes similar to Taisho Otome Fairytale combined with Dagashi Kashi and Sweetness & Lightning. EDIT: Thanks for your comments everyone.
It's more like Hanasaku Iroha combined with Barakamon
That's even better. I love those two anime.
100% give it a shot then, it feels just as well done as those two from the first episode.

Wow, you went into a lot of details. Thanks. It definitely sounds my thing even more now. I am going to watch it first thing tomorrow morning.
Very happy to see The Executioner and her way of life and Ya Boy Kongming! up there.
I’m happy about Executioner and Kongming being in Top 3 but it kinda hurts to know that they are going to be against Kaguya and SpyXFamily from this week onward I hope that they at least remain in Top 5 for the rest of the season
Sweet seeing executioner at top it was so good.

Ganbare, Shamiko!
>One other note: The vote total of 5106 is historically low even for a first week It is indeed surprising to see after the usual 10k+ votes in the past. Kaguya and Spy x Family will bump up the numbers once the come out. I expect to see a lot more back and forth going on here compared to karma charts, which would make it quite interesting.
I mean, AoT, 86, KnY, MDuD are no longer part of this chart.
That's fair but I actually didn't expect it to get 5k votes this week. With a high profile show like Shield Hero present here, I expected the votes to be in the range of 8-9k.
Tate no Yuusha wasn’t that great though…
Can't wait to see the next week's, I think Kaguya-Sama's about to [*HEY HEY!*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-HPdOxlgWs) this ranking!
One this ranking at least, I wouldn't be 100% surprised if spy x family takes the win in the first week
My dad made me watched the executioner and her way of life without knowing the title, and i legit thought the boy was the protagonist
Thats gotta be a fun way to watch it lol
Watching that happen with 'protag-kun' was cathartic
Expecting Kaguya, Spy x Family, Shield Hero and Shikimori to hold down 4 spots. So it's a fight for the 6 spots this season. Wonder which shows will have a constant presence. My money's on _I'm Quitting Heroing._ Seems like a decent fantasy action-comedy that most folks can get into, from the pilot. Though I haven't gotten round to seeing Skeleton Knight yet. Knowing Anime Corner, we're going to have mad fun with the rankings this season, seeing how stacked the lineup is.
Kongming is underwatched. Give it a go and tell me if it is better than quit heroing
Woah I read that #8 as *I’m quitting Heroin* lol
To be fair, that could have happened in-between scenes during Episode 1.
I hope kongming can stay near the top going forward.
With Kongming leading it, how could the show ever fail???
Didn't think the show I'm enjoying the most would get top, hopefully it can retain top 5 even after the hyped shows come.
I was surprised Trapped in a Dating Sim was below Typical Nobody. I thought both were fine, but I feel like Dating Sim has more possibility.
As someone who has read the first 3 volumes of Nobody, I have a feeling that it'll drop pretty hard after a few episodes. It's the most cliche of cliche OP stories but not really in a fun way.
I feel like it's Demon King academy 2.0 only with less gore.
It differentiated itself from Demon King Academy by being far less interesting.
ENGI is probably why.
Honestly, if it was not ENGI adapting it and if it didn't have that artstyle, I would've expected MobuSeka (Trapped in a Dating Sim) to be way more popular in r/anime than what it is now. r/manga already likes it very much and LN's are also decently popular.
The art style does harken back to some of the other trash isekai shows.
> if it didn't have that artstyle I do recall a decent bit of controversy about the character design changes, especially the eyes.
I didn't think the art was bad. I thought it was just sort of generic.
Executioner ended up being waaaaaay better than I expected
I'm just saying, y'all should give Birdie Wing a shot. Honestly I thought the first episode was awesome and lots of fun.
Yes, for a niche-sounding show, it is actually pretty much in the sweet-spot for people who like underdog stories with a bit of variety on the theme.
It’s just as wholesome as it is hilarious.
> , but trust me it’s on par with Kaguya Nah it definitely isn't.
Yuri anime saves lives. We need more. I favor the villainess adaption when!
I’m happy that the executioner anime is up there it was pretty interesting
Damn Executioner in the lead? I’ll hella take it it had an AMAZING episode 1. Please check it out!
People wrote it off because it was animated by the McDonald's of anime studio, which people forget that the same studio that animated Railgun T.
I’m so happy with its adaptation so far
new take on isekai and hot women = #1
Really happy to see Executioner pick up the no1 spot the one week it could before the Kaguya/Spy/Shikimori trifecta arrive.
Is shikimori that popular? I don't think it's anywhere near Kaguya/Spy x level, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
Probably not the same level as those 2 to be fair, but I've seen some hype suggesting she'll be the Marin of the season.
It's not too far behind them in the most anticipated of the season poll: [https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/tq8irm/top\_10\_most\_anticipated\_anime\_spring\_2022\_anime/](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/tq8irm/top_10_most_anticipated_anime_spring_2022_anime/)
But then again, as Gigguk pointed out, she's clearly made to be "Best Girl" bait, so... take from that what you will.
is the science one good? what is it about?
>Love is ~~War~~ What, Exactly, and Can We Prove It? Please write all show summaries from now on
College romcom.
I was expecting a 45 min episode like the one in first season, that was well excuted. But we'll see if the rest gets better than first ep of s2 we got
I do not expect half the shows up here to last more than the time it takes for everything to be in release cycles, but hey, early anime gets a spot on the top 10 list
Ayo where Shamiko at?
I find it odd Komi-san didn’t make it into the top 10 cut
There's no English subs out yet, are there?
Nope. Not until the 27th. Ugh.
Are they idiots?
It's Netflix jail after all, so yeah...
Not officially. Unofficially? Well...
Only machine-translated subs even then AFAIK, and most people would rather wait than have to deal with that garbage. Decent quality fan subs take time.
There are fan translations
That's what Netflix does to you
The Demon Girl Next Door s2 only at number #12?
Watching 6 and the season hasnt even properly begun ;_;
I've never been this excited for a season. Last season was for the shonen fans. This one's for us SoL/Romcom fans
Tomodachi Game? Friend Game? What’s that show?
5 friends must play games of trust to wipe out 20 ,illion debt. Think cross between Kakegurui and Squid Game.
Every single anime I am checking out this season is fire! It's even more stacked than anticipated
Deaimon wasn't in top 10. I enjoyed it too much maybe. Idk.
Executioner and her way of life is such a good light novel. Im really excited for the anime but it seemed like it wasnt going to be popular this season since I havent seen much talk about it.
"I'm quitting heroine" My brain: What the fuck?
Generic Isekai beating out Demon Girl Next door, I cry Exeuctioner at #1 feels right though
Shield Hero can't even get first place when Kaguya Sama, Spy Family and Shikimori isn't even out yet, doubt they will get there at all this season
Surprised not to see Komi-San on there
Komi's English release is still pending
Go watch Deaimon!
