How to become a Pokemon master
By - Samuawesome
What is that joke.
You become the Champion... You do that in every game and even Ash did it recently.
No way. I thought he was destined to always loose tournaments. And as I remember winners had a chance to join something like pro league kind of thing.
I remember cuz once a winner challenged the region champion but it was shown that they are in complete different leagues. As if a high school sports kid against a pro.
Ash seriously won a championship?
In anime I mean
Ash won the Alola Championship, but it isn't following the usual rules. It was Alola 1st League and is consisted of people who aren't experienced trainers. There are some challenges, but at the end, [Ash became the regional champion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PNCQgQDrKU).
What Ash is doing right now is bigger than all of the previous competitions. The current series is doing a **World Championship** where trainers, gym leaders and champions can join. Ash is currently at Rank 64 and still continue to rise in ranks
* [He defeated Iris who is now Unova Champion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI1e8TivP5Q)
* Ash is going to try to take down the Master 8 who is consisted of Leon, Lance, Raihan and Cynthia. The other 4 are unknown at this moment.
* Next Episode he is going to fight Bea who is at Rank 30.
* He also defeated Volkner who got knocked down to Rank 27 after losing to Ash.
Nice, I might get back into series. I watched around till season 18th. Does he actually does something different? As in fight sequences, team building strategies, how he trains his pokemon and build their strength etc?
Cuz as I remember many Pokemon have failed on him in most curial situation and many have shown steel determination, so the fight kinda stays tense but it never feels like ash did it.
Over usage of one move, not taking the fight seriously etc. Though I completely understand if I have lost touch with the child part of me.
It really depends on the series.
You left before you saw Ash's [Kalos Team](https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/695f7949-df76-4452-bdf0-130afea52f21/dd7d7d8-f67033f7-9993-4608-88a9-1df63d11023a.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzY5NWY3OTQ5LWRmNzYtNDQ1Mi1iZGYwLTEzMGFmZWE1MmYyMVwvZGQ3ZDdkOC1mNjcwMzNmNy05OTkzLTQ2MDgtODhhOS0xZGY2M2QxMTAyM2EuanBnIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.9_yqbamOyPWse9xJ8VKvBxz-TD-AdFvE2RsrFXTzz2Q). Although Ash lost in the Finals, his fights are the visually the [best](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOLF1SYkJsU) out of all the league. Ash overall was a monster as he sweep through the competition. It is disappointing that Ash lost, but it was a close fight.
Alola was a more slice of life story where the training gets pushed in the sideline as Pikachu remains as powerful as he is in Kalos. Most of his Pokemon trained by themselves while Ash chills around. Other than Rowlet, his [team](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b6/3e/6f/b63e6fc59bd0712f462c3c6d9f554cdc.jpg) isn't bad.\*He won with Torracat, but it is a huge flex on Torracat. [Torracat defeats his rival, then evolve before fainting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fkPR3o9NDg). Despite Ash being one of the only few actual trainers in the region, his victory against Kukui was well deserved.
Ash in Journeys travels to other regions to fight. The catching Pokemon aspect goes to the other Protagonist Go. Ash isn't invincible, but he isn't seen as a noob.
* Although I don't think the pacing nor action is as good as the previous ones, Ash has a decent team.
* Mega Lucario, Dragonite, Dracovish, Gengar, Sirfetch'd, Pikachu \*[Mr.Mime](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0lRTE0gIwE)
* Ash does uses more status and strategies in this one.
* [He still meets up with his old Pokemon](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=601z1GVq-Eo), but I don't know if they will be used
The thing is in each region he gets one pokemon that carries him through that region. Pikachu will destroy one region but fail a very easy fight right afterwards. Charizard was retired to be called just to show it's alive, now I might forget alot of names but Snorlax, garchomp (the Cynthia pokemon in first evo stage) and Greninja and alot more. Instead of bringing out team's potential some accidental gems pull ash and then he retires them.
That haven't changed so far.
Ash hatched a Riolu, and now it get a mega stone making this one of Ash's heavy hitters. Dragonite have been a strong tank and haven't lost a match yet. Majority of the team is fine except for Gengar who is treated as a jobber
Ash did used Mr. Mime and Inferape once, but I don't know if he would reuse old Pokemon. Journeys should have been the perfect opportunity to do it, but Ash haven't done it yet.
Pikachu luckily haven't been treated badly like with Unova.
Well thanks I might try it again if time allows.
