E-Z Greek mealtime!
By - terminaljive
I would add sliced cucumbers and red onions too !
I will once I'm moved in to my own studio next week. I'm staying with a friend right now since I'm between leases and only have a little bit of space in his beer fridge for my perishable groceries.
This is a great idea for a hotel meal. I get tired of eating out when traveling for work. Thank you!
What a great idea!
I’ve used the beef shaved steak with most of those ingredients in place of the chicken and it was really good!
I'm a big Mediterranean food guy. A big game changer is feta in brine. Trust me :)
Night and day!
I didn't know they had grilled chicken strips that were precooked! How are they, is the texture decent?
I was not a fan of them personally. They had a weird texture, and some pieces I had to spit out. Ended up throwing them away.
They're actually really good, they have the kind of chargrilled taste and texture around the edges one would expect from freshly grilled chicken breast. Look for them near the deli items!
What's even more interesting is that the location I stopped at in Windermere FL didn't have the classic cucumber dill, but when I stopped at a location in neighboring Kissimmee, they did. So maybe another location near you might!
How is that cucumber dill dip? Sounds so good!! Is it an Aldi find or a regular stock item?
It's really good! They also have spinach and artichoke or spinach and parmesan "tzatziki" I tried that was a good dip for their white bean chips, but I wouldn't call it "tzatziki". IIRC all of these items are regular stock!
Yes! The 'tzatziki' is more like dip but it is so good with the pita chips!
Yup. On my next Aldi trip for sure!! Thanks!
I LOVE their tzaziki!! Aldi has great Greek food- olives, multiple kinds of feta, Greek dressings, etc. Love it!
i just made this but with lettuce and avocado added and shredded crock pot chicken I had in my fridge! super tasty!
I never thought to try this with crock pot chicken! I might do that next week!
That cucumber dill tzatziki is sooo good. I dip the parmesan garlic pita chips in it and it's \*\*chefs kiss\*\*
and now I'm hungry. I just did the shopping but I'm adding most of this to my list for next week!
Definitely stealing this idea!
Since it's all cold, it's a great meal for this intense heat especially where I am in Florida!
Looks delicious! I’m in MD and it’s started getting hot and humid, so it’s definitely worth it for me too
My parents up in Connecticut were saying a few days ago it reached into the 90's.
I grill a bunch of chicken in the beginning of the week to use for lunches. I made wraps twice this week using the Aldi tzatziki and feta. I usually throw in some baby spinach or mixed greens and cucumbers. I have the Specialty Selected pita chips with it! Always a favorite
I’ve gotten their Naan bread for something similar. I highly recommend that.
Someone went to ALDI!
I see you I appreciate that you used a different spoon for each sauce
They've got a feta dressing which is kinda yummy
That sounds interesting, is it like blue cheese dressing, because I do enjoy that.
Good idea on your part, but my God those "chicken" strips look atrocious! (vomit)
They're horrible. Especially because it takes no time at all to throw some chicken in the oven or instant pot and cook it. Or even a rotisserie chicken is better than this crime against nature aka chicken pieces 😐👎
Agreed. I’m not a huge fan of any brand of precooked chicken. Target brand was the closest to edible. But OP did say she is staying with someone else right now and only has access to a shared beer fridge. We had to use our beer fridge when ours kicked until we got the new one. Ours is tiny and there could be no concept of leftovers. It was essentials only
i made a variation of this for me and my bf a few weeks ago! i didn’t even see the pita, def going to grab it next time :) i also used the regular hummus and cucumbers in mine! so yummy!
How is the tzatziki sauce?
Good but I've never met a tzatziki i didn't like.
Well put together. Add some tomato and greens which could make it even better. Enjoy!
One of the few thinks I don’t like at Aldi is the hummus. I normally have to add a lot of salt
The way I see it is if you can't enjoy it unless you add extra salt, that's better than someone else not being able to enjoy it because it's too salty.
This looks good!
