Upper handguard furniture and I only see one rail.
The upper is inside the lower and I've got both inner rails here. Didn't stage the picture very well i guess.
Well in that case. You're going to need some tools and some time.
Nice, thanks! I've got the tools and 36 hours to get it done (at a family members house)
Have you done something like this before? Have help?
Yeah i actually built this kit before but a friend of mine tried using a hydraulic press to remove a slightly stuck casing from the chamber and he kinked the whole receiver. It's been sitting in the corner of the garage ever since.
I see three triggers. Are you missing a grenade launcher and a shotgun? 🤣
My hobbies include casual breeching and area suppression.
Have all those parts been blasted? Doing cerakote?
Blasting them now, got a friend trying to source me cerakote locally now.
Some on combloc rn
Working on it now. I've got the presses and jigs still (i think) . Going to try and get it done today.
Keep us updated
I see a safety seer
Will not work on a Tantal
I did not know that
The Poles relocated the axis for the safety selector to make room for the 3 round burst mechanism. They developed it for a version of the AKM first but used the design on the Tantal and the Beryl.
EDIT: the AKM variant being the wz. 80
You might want another Trigger
Yes, the existing 3 just won't suffice.
He needs 32 triggers if he plans to use it with 30 round magazines. 30 triggers for each round in full auto 1 trigger for semi auto and one for safe. It Also looks like the bolt in this gun was modified to be a non functional replica. They have a part called a "locking lug which locks the operation of the gun. This should be removed before assembly. Source I have 69 FFLs
GL on the center support and rails. I hate doing them.
I prefer that to headspacing with them already installed.
Why's that? They don't give me a problem with the trunnion jig I use. I'm curious how u do it.
My first AK build, I followed this guide:
Their process involves riveting the trunnion into the receiver first, and without rails and center support in the way, it is super easy to then set headspacing using their tooling system to press in the barrel.
I had gotten an 80% without the rails and center support specifically so that I could follow that guide. But when I wanted to build the Romanian and Hungarian kits I got, I could only find clone correct 80%s that already had them installed. In my experience, this makes it a huge pain to press in the barrel (I will not ever use the barrel as a bucking bar for the rivets. Ever.).
I'm curious, how do you press in the barrel when the rails and center support are already installed? I made my own tool that sorta kinda works but not really.
I have a jig that presses against the back of the trunnion. Set the jig against the plate on the press and push the barrel in. I think I bought it from Curtis at ak builder way back when.
Is it this one?
That's the only relevant thing I can find on their site. If that's not it, have you got a pic of what you have?
not quite. I have the one he's using in this post. I can't find a listing for it.
Interesting. I'll email them and see if they discontinued it or something. If so, I'll have to machine my own I suppose.
The left side selector is MIA, unless you don't plan on using it. Didn't see any HS gauges in your pile either.
And ammo! Har har har
Left side selector?
Bluetooth adapter for that speaker set.
I was literally cursing the fact i dont have one a few hours ago. Been rocking out to the phone lol
A few cold ones

Missed a spot of blood on the floor...
Clean that blood off the table, it could be used as evidence
May I recommend a standard FCG? The tantal stuff is hell to put together, and it looks like you're missing some of it anyway
Too many triggers, but can you ever have too many? 🤔
Are you building….a tantal?
A good non mill surplus fire control group!
I will buy your polish Three round burst group if it is for sale. I would like it for a pre may dealer sample!
A modernization kit lol see you in another ten years
The great thing about the AK-47 is you can submerge it, bury it, throw it off a 3 story building and it will still fire. You wont be able to hit the broad side of a barn, but you never could.
It is all about the builder and operator! I can build a sub 3/4”MOA Or 1/2 MOA milled receiver AK.
My 6.5mm Grendel shoots tight groups at 200 yards
My next build is going to be in 6.5mm creedmoor
I bet I get 1/2 groups with it as well!
The platform is not free floating. It is inherently inaccurate. That type of performance is out of the ordinary and likely not scientific. MOA is determined not with your best 5 shot group but average of 10+ 5 shot groups. I have multiple budget ar's that shoot clover leafs at 200 yards. I purchase high end barrels and triggers and the use budget parts for everything else. Ars are also much easier to clean and disassemble. I can swap a barrel out in 1 minute. Not only that every calibur has the same parts except bolt and barrel. Also the optic mounts to a Ridgid upper something the ak simply cant come close to providing. Thenthere is weight and cost. AR parts are readily available and cheap. I can use one lower and own multiple uppers. The AK platform was developed by a 3rd world country. A proud self absorbed country lead by monkeys who thought they were smart but we're actually just self loving monkies. It was intended for poorly trained disposable soldiers. It is a close range weapon and was never updated to be used with optics, tripod etc. With an ar your barrel floats free and you can mount a tripod that is not In contact with your barrel. The AK is a platform from 47 and has not been improved since, it is a novelty. Very reliable, great for 3rd world armies. Ok at 100 yards. The 7.62x39 is a dog. If I were you I would get a bolt rifle in 6.5 Creed more. You're smoking something if you think you'll get 1/2 moa... Maybe you will get half moa but your groups will shift everytime you don't apply the exact same pressure at the exact same location when shooting off a rest or sand bag. I recommend get a gold plated AK sbr and then moving on from that cave man troglodyte platform to something designed by modern humans with fully developed brains.
Your right I just think people are to hard on the AK platform. I know all firearms have there merits and disadvantage’s.
I am the guy that loves to turn lemons to lemonade! Did not mean anything by it. It is what it is man
I have seen some beautifully made AKs. Works of art
In my honest opinion. I not in the AR vs AK debate I know most weapons platforms. Actually my family name is Koch Jews from Germany that make a damn
Good product. I’m am partial to HKs to be completely
Honest but I’m sure ford loved the model T.

I wanna know how much are the tools.needed. that's what's stopping me from getting a kit. Or what other tools I could use in place of more expensive ones
I bought this kit and the tools 12-14 years ago. Loaned the tools to a buddy 5 years ago and it took me awhile today to figure out that's where they were. All my stuff came from akbuilder.com
Ok cool I'll check It out thanks
Dude buy one as soon as you can the prices has went through the roof Since I started building. I remember $300 Tula AKS74U kits as many as you wanted. Now
You can’t find one for under $2000!
Tool you can buy later one day there may be no kits to build. I hope that day never comes but realistically it will. I hope after Russia and Ukraine stop fighting they cut them up gingerly and send some are way!
I hope the price drops, I've seen kits for 600 or so but idk if they're worth it or not, some are side folders with a wire stock etc
I have never lost money on a AK parts buy.
In a year it will increase by at least 25%
Parts are drying up! I have been in this game for
Two decades or more and can stress enough buy buy buy! I don’t retail either it is my retirement plan + my bullion collection
Sounds good haha I'm trying to find one worthwhile to get, I see md65 for sale
You're missing a zero on the price if you bought that today, instead of ten years ago
Bought it about 12 years ago, built it, worked great. The. 2 years later a friend was trying to get a shitty steel case out of the chamber and he put it vertical in the press to push it out, resulting in a kinked receiver. It's sat in pieces in the corner of my dads garage ever since.
Friends don't let friends use a press to remove stuck cases 🤕
He told me after the fact
pretty complete, just the upper hand guard cover and some cerakote coating over the metal.
What is that lower handguard? Is it original to the tantal?
Im 85 percent sure thats the one that came with the kit years and years ago.
Been looking for a black tantal handguard for years, I have a bakey tantal handguard if u looking to do a swaparoo
Sorry, yes original but im pretty sure i cerakoted it forever ago.
All good how’d it stick? Might just go that route
It's held up good for years, but it's also seen minimal use.
Not sure about tantal but for the East German version of that folding wire stock there’s a spring that goes into the reenforcement bracket ... a long loop shaped type spring
Pistol grip screw missing?
You're correct, but i found it!
Hmmm! Yes. Many parts. What are you missing Sir - is a life.
Where cleaning rod
A father figure
Bakelite PG and prayers the barrel isn’t a 5.56 like century used to do 🙏🏽
The entire exterior, and the mag I think lol
Youre missing a complete ar-15.
Ive got several, dont worry!
