Try adding the network in manually instead of searching.

FRED1SC0

Okay

jedislayer21

What is your network band, because it can’t be a 5Ghz band

FRED1SC0

It has 5 and 2. something, 2.4 I think

zerbey

Make sure your network supports b/g/n, the Wii doesn't support more modern standards. I had to enter mine manually even though it did, you may run into the same issue.

Wolfofthepack1511

I'm having a similar issue. I have an Xfinity XFI router and it has 802.11 g/n/ax and 802.11 g/n. I configured it to enable 2.4 and 5 GHz. I connected the wii to the 2.4 GHz connection, and also got it to show up by changing the channel manually to channel 3, but it won't let the wii connect with or without a password.

WiiExpertise

You need b, not just g

Wolfofthepack1511

I can't. The router only allows those options

WiiExpertise

Well then you're stuck. Your router isn't going to work. Xfinity is known to be problematic with this.

Excellent_Region_962

Add the network manually instead

FRED1SC0

Okay

Low effort post. Plenty of resources and answers to this specific question in this Reddit. Learn to search. Your issue is probably router settings. Does your router support 802.11b/g, 2.4Ghz band, WEP/WPA-PSK encryption (not WPA2 or WPA-AES), manual broadcast channel on 2.4Ghz band, etc.

WiiExpertise

WPA2 works fine. No reason to avoid it. It's 2.4 and b/g that give most people issues.
