Well take a gander at that!
The asphalt gets really hot in the summer and they have sensitive feet.
Trix are for kids!
Kicks are for trids
Picks are for skids?
*"STANLEY, YOU CALL YOUR FRIEND AN ASSHOLE THIS INSTANT."*
What The Flap?!
Did that man just fly his goose across the street?
Well I just entered a strange realm of jealousy that I didn't think I had in me
This is in Old Town Orange, or "The Circle", in.. you guessed it Orange, California.
This guy and his goose are a regular sight if you go there often. There's a grassy patch and a fountain at the center of the roundabout (just down the street from where this was recorded) which the goose likes to run around on.
Went to school here. Can confirm.
Saw them walk by while I was eating dinner there. Can confirm.
Ate the goose as dinner there. Can confirm
Met the goose there. Can confirm
Pottstown, PA there's a guy that walks a duck. I saw him walking his duck with a 12 pack of keystone light in the other hand.
I feel like this dude is high as a kite and just vibing on his way to drop off a few bags.
I love this video
Totally don't belong here its wholesome as fuck
I have a rescued pet duck named Ariel. She wears a diaper and tutu and walks on a leash like a good girl too. She has her own little mermaid themed room.
Waterfowl can be amazing (but poopy) pets!
That's precious. I have always wanted a pet house chicken to dreas up and take out on a leash.
I don't think I could handle waterfowl... the way they get in the water and mud and stuff 😅😅
It’s definitely a lot to handle, when we rescued her, she had botulism and was completely paralyzed and was not expected to make it.
Everywhere wanted to euthanize her so we literally nursed her back to health and now she’s doing pretty good. She had to have some major surgery but she is alive and our little baby girl! She’s almost 2
Awwwwww that's so sad she went through that. I'm glad you have taken care of her ❤️
Thank you so much! It was definitely worth it (although her surgery cost two months of mortgage payments haha).
oh I understand how that is. we took in a feral kitten last November with a growth in her skull and everyone said to just put her down. but we found a surgeon that worked with us on monthly payments and just finally paid her off last month. Now she is a terror and destroying my house looool
I just kept asking myself if I would rather have restaurant dinners for the next year or save her or rather have coffees or save her or maybe we could give up a vacation, and all those answers came back that we would rather have her than those things.
You can’t buy love, but sometimes you sure can use money to keep a beloved pet alive, so in that regard, you can buy love and happiness. And it’s always worth it.
It is worth it. I will always choose my pet first, they rely on me to take care of them. ♥
You need to pay your cat taxes and show us pics/gifs/vids
all this and no pictures of Ariel in her themed room?
Here is her diaper!
Let’s see if these work, this is her room!
okay that is ADORABLE!! :3
Haha I don’t have kids so I went a little crazy decorating, it was so fun.
Haha I get it. I'm a proud guineadad.
"Oh yeah, that's just my emotional support goose!"
What emotion could a goose possibly support? Anger?
Unadulterated visceral rage
*Peace was never an option*
Don't geese's support aggression?
They especially support territorial hostility and assault
I took a gander and I agree.
I’ve actually seen this guy before. Orange circle, yeah?
Yes, he's there often.
But have you seen how goose hug people?? I’d start crying :c
That's a chicken
I just re-watched the video. The driver got cut off saying "That's actually a chi"...cken. I take back my downvote. ;)
I think he's saying "that's legit" (imate )
Geese make good "guard dogs".
Swans are better.
When the sidewalk is safe but the street is lava
Shouldn't there be a limit on what some people can, you know what never fucking mind.
A limit on limits
Yes, they are called laws
In most areas it is indeed illegal to keep animals considered wild, like a goose, as pets. ( Or racoons, opossums, squirrels, etc) Unless you have exotic licenses and proper education/training ofc.
In most of the areas where someone is likely to have a pet goose though nobody tends to give a shit about enforcing it either though.
My grandma had a pet swan for example, but she lived in the middle of nowhere so it wasn't a problem. Poor thing got terribly injured somehow and 1 wing was just a skeleton of bone, no skin or muscle or feathers. iirc she had it for around 5 or 6 years. It greatly enjoyed the company of the Canadian geese that would come to the pond much of the year but since it couldn't fly it was alone in the winter. She built a pretty sick house for it though to survive the harsh winters here and the farm cats learned not to fuck with it eventually. Sometimes we would even find it sitting on a pile of kittens in it's house like they were chicks, all using each other to stay warm lol.
So Geese are generally in a weirder spot because they're also considered domesticated. Like the goose in the video is most likely a domestic breed (Emden Goose) that originated from the Greylag Goose and is the main "livestock" version of Geese.
A quick review of a state rule aggregator makes it look like the vast majority of states either expressly allow geese or allow geese as pets with a permit.
That said, that doesn't really apply to native wild geese like the Canadian Goose which receive extra protection from the Migratory Bird Act.
My grandpa was part of a fishing club (read drinking club that the owners of a restaurant were in on and they needed an excuse to clear out the kitchen at the end of the year), each year they do a Chinese auction. A Chinese auction for those unfamiliar with the phrase is where everyone brings something to auction off but it is either wrapped or covered, etc. so the people bidding have no idea what it is.
As his contribution one year, Grandpa brought a live goose to be auctioned off.
Welcome to small town socal.
Peace...is an option?
That man's just making a dream come true for a goose that couldn't fly
Tell me you live in Portland without telling me you live in Portland
Orange, CA. He’s always in the main part of town known as “The Circle”
This guy ducks.
I guess the owner is preventing the bird from touching hot asphalt.
"I feel the need..."
Someone once sent him on a wild goose chase and he swore to never again fall for it
Assisted Migration. Enjoy your travels south sir.
Ok. That's adorable.
He’s flying his goose. What’s wrong with that? I mean it’s not like he can walk it…
[How this goes in the UK](https://youtube.com/shorts/L2m3aDCmjwo?feature=share)
actually, [This would be more accurate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjNeKmp-pMI)
I burst out laughing
Well would you take a gander at that
You've never seen a guy whip out his duck in public before?
This is actually awesome. I used to work with a bunch of Macaws and they all had their wings clipped. So every morning I would run with them through the zoo from their holding area to where they hung out for the day and they’d just pretend to fly the whole way. They loved that shit.
What in the duck?!
I mean... I want to like this but shouldn't that bird be free? I'm going to assume it's injured or something and is being rehabilitated.
Looks like he's getting in a right flap.
I am just glad that no one ran the red, of his goose would be cooked.
when I see a tethered duck fly!
(ik it's a goose)
Since I saw this the last time it was posted, have I seen everything?
Old ppl can do anything!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I know exactly that location
Wrong kind of goose.
just the usual citizen flying his goose
Crosswalk is lava?
I have seen him in Huntington Beach, i was like sure, why not? Man loves his bird.
Man loves his bird so rather than set him free to fly on its own wherever it wants he needs to keep it tethered.
There is something very wrong with that.
You must have never owned a pet.
I have, and my pets choose to stay with me, without a leash.
Have you ever seen a dog
yes... again, my dog stays with me, she likes me and knows she has a family and home
I get it that people want to own birds. But in general, when given a choice, the escaped birds I've seen down here in FL, where they can survive outside, have chosen to stay free. If I could fly, I also would do that.
Do you let your dog run free on the busy street?
That's a domesticated goose, dude.
This is neat, but nothing beats [Dali taking his anteater for a walk](https://preview.redd.it/tn7264wdmz621.jpg?auto=webp&s=395801190e57301e25aa7acdb55aa80c60114d96) in Paris.
I've seen something that I can truly without a doubt say.. I honestly never thought I'd ever see in my life.
Almond is a strange street name.
Goes to the pond for play dates
I saw a woman walking her chicken on a leash in Majadahonda, Spain
I get it. I really do.
hahaha this is my hometown, that dude is down every so often
You got a problem with gooses, you got a problem with me......and I suggest you let that one marinate.
Damn, this beats seeing a guy with a pet iguana (on a leash) outside a dollar store. Or maybe not, considering I live in Canada
Sometimes you have to take your... (checks notes) pet goose, for a... (checks notes again) fly across the road.
My grandparents had 2 pet geese when I was growing up! However, they lived on a farm
That's the cutest shit ever, I want to fly a goose now.
Goose, shmoose. The real star here is that old Mercedes SL.
This guys is in public showing off his asshole.
Nothing to see here, just a dude walking his cobra chicken.
It's [Lars & Gertrude](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgEWxr-D6nQ)!
That’s a gorgeous Mercedes
Old Town orange, AKA The Circle. Saw the guy with the goose once. He even has his own little boots and walks into restaurants with its owners. They let me pet him once he's fuckin adorable
this is wholesome
That’s some Ohio shit
