No love for Zbyszko? This pole is a fraud!!!!!

occasionaldrinker

They only allow 6 people. If they allowed more I would have added him, McMichael, Dusty and Ventura. Edit. Also JR of course.

hobarddoyle

But you added Mark Madden and Scott Hudson???

occasionaldrinker

Because they were part of the most recent announce team.

therealgdiesel

The Living Legend added an awesome edge to the announce team that was missing later on. Highly underrated ingredient in the best Nitro recipe.

hobarddoyle

In their heyday, Schiavone and Heenan were so good. Sprinkle in a little Mike Tenay, that was a great announce team.

EMF911

One of the greatest teams you will see in our sport. (I just wanted to use the phrase “our sport” because Tony always said it)

BobbyCostner

On our sport tonight we have a cage match between a midget and a giant.

GentlemanOctopus

I loved how they would rotate through Schiavone, Heenan, Tenay, and Zbyszko during Nitro to keep it fresh. All of them are my favorites for different reasons, but the play-by-play/color/analyst combination is just a really good way to put together a three-man booth.

Jim Ross please

WarGreymon77

Tony Schiavone. He was really damn good. Before AEW, I always saw a ridiculous amount of hate for him online, which I can only guess is from people who took Bobby Heenan's autobiography as gospel. Jim Ross was better in the WWF in my opinion. I've noticed him ignoring his partner constantly in WCW, and it's weird. Never liked Bischoff's commentary. If he's not talking about the nWo, he's talking about Hulk Hogan constantly. "I wonder what Hulk Hogan is up to right now." Come on, dude.

saydizzle

No Zybykso, Dusty, or JR but Mark Madden is there.

futures17gne

WCW had some great commentary teams. Brain and Tony were a good mix. Mike was really good as a face commentator. When he went heel he became almost like this maniacal little man shouting non stop. Still good but I prefer him as a face. Hudson and the living legend Zybisko were a good team as well. It just depends on what type of commentary you like (stating the obvious). I would say I Heenan and Tony as a duo were my favourite. They had a good chemistry.

Decapitator_Asaemon

Maybe split the vote into one for announcers and a second one for commentators like Heenan

jefferyuniverse

I am a fan of Tenay. Madden was insufferable

BeaverMartin

Jim Ross is the GOAT of announcers.

hobarddoyle

I know, I'm just breaking balls

ThePeakyBlind3r

Jesse Ventura was the best colour commentator going. Even made Worldwide an entertaining show in the early 90s.

Shooter_McGavin27

All of WCW’s classic combinations were great. I loved how they split the teams on Nitro. It kept it fresh and gave different styles and perspectives. Shiavone and Herman were a great pair and I always preferred WCW announcers over the WWF. Don’t get me wrong, Ross was great in the WWF but I don’t think he was that great in WCW. He really found his element in the WWF. I really enjoyed Hudson’s announcing and thought he’s always been terribly underrated. I preferred it before Russo came around and tried to turn everyone into Lawler. I did not like Madden at all. I thought he was a fresh change when he first filled in for Heenan, but that quickly faded off after a couple weeks. I think it had more to do with Heenan just being burnt out and not giving a shit anymore.

Judge_13

Commentators... Not announcers...

FunRecommendation640

Bobby and Tony and Mike were great together. I loved it when they did ppv's together in 1998-1999. I loved there arguing with each other too.

Mike Tenay is the reason I know the names of so many wrestling holds. Even the good ol' fashion "full arm dragon twist" (which I think he was really saying full arm drag and twist).
