I expected her to hit him while they were still in the parking lot.
Backing out of her spot lol
Yes, that it what I had in my mind. In that sense the video is actually unexpected 😁
She gave him a head start
Now he's it.
That’s just mean
So you would say this was "unexpected"?
Expected the exact same thing
Watch out for Idiots.
Test failed. :D
She did try to warn him
He was warned.
Her Mom: “Watch out for idiots Jacob.... you’ve been warned”
Jacob is now allowed to call his mom an idiot without any consequences
"Shoulda watched out dumbass"
Warn him did she
Does this mean he is now allowed to call his mom an idiot? 🤔
No he has to be watching his mom carefully
IT WAS ME! I WAS THE IDIOT THE WHOLE TIME!!
I have no words!
Im actually confused why he looked left and then stopped. He had plenty of time to go. Someone elaborate
Watch it again, the first time he looks left a car is coming, then when he looks left again right before she hits him, then that car turns right.
You learn to drive VERY defensively as a motorcyclist because you have to assume all other cars aren’t driving properly.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry as a motorcyclist and ensure what cars are doing. You have to minimize your role in any accidents that could happen.
It’s harder for a motorcycle to take a right turn quickly and they often wait longer than usual because you need momentum to keep the bike up right, and can’t brake as quickly as a car without potentially sliding your bike. There are a lot of physics to driving a motorcycle.
As soon as she said that I knew it would be her lol. That almost made it seem staged lol.
How does she ever live this down?
"Hey Mom, remember when you hit me with your car?" - instant argument winner until the end of time.
"now help me cause i can't move both of my arms"
stop that. you stop that this instant
I too choose this guys mom while both my arms are broken
I too choose a jelly rancher from this guys mom while both my arms are broken
too much meta in one comment
Wash that meta down with some coconut milk.
Can I have just a crumb of context?
Oh you sweet summer child.
You don’t want that, son. You don’t want that.
No, this is Christian server!
They’re all a bunch of old, horrifyingly gross, weird, famous Reddit stories. I won’t go into detail because a couple make me want to vomit, but if you’re morbidly curious…

Careful what you ask for. You might just get it.
Oh my God, boy, you don't want any of that!
Well, you see, it's hard to cut a poo with both arms broken...
Care for a coconut too?
No wait I’m almost there
Oh my god, why did you have to bring this up
It has been a while, it got a snort out of me this time instead of automatically leaving the post lol
That was her fiendish plan all along 😈
It’s honestly been a while since I last saw that reference. I thought I was free, but here you are. Ready to ruin my day.
"Please, I kinda need a wank..."
Really puts the kibash on the "I brought you into this world, I can take you out" line.
“I brought you into this world, I can take-“
“You tried and failed, mom”
love it lmao
This made my day better, thanks!
She won’t lol and also HAPPYCAKEDAY
She probably did it on purpose to flex her dominance.
She told him to not get that bike! But really, my mom said she'd do something similar if had bought a bike lol.
Happy Cake Day!
Happy cake day.
If she’s like my mom it would be my fault for not listening to her when she said to not buy a bike
Nothing like shoehorned moral superiority!
Not gonna like, I don't think she could
(also happy cake day mate)
Happy cake day
My mom t-boned my car in her driveway when I was visiting.
That's fun to bring up occasionally
This is a masterpiece
"Jacob's performance is ravishing."
"An instant classic"
"Audiences and critics agree: Watch Out For Idiots is the must-see of the summer."
And the Oscar, for the best supporting actor, goes to.....
Jacobs mom! For „watch out for idiots“ - „fu**ing f*ck“
"An erotic thriller the whole family will enjoy!"
I promise that this is the only time I will upvote one of these reddit-embedded gifs
I'll be watching your upvoted with great interest.
Completely unrelated but looks cool
hell yea car gif
how did you reply with a GIF
there's a GIF button next to the type box on mobile. idk how to on desktop tho
On desktop I got a pretty unmissable multicolor gif button, next to the emoji button in the reply textbox
GIFs are gonna ruin Reddit. Any way to turn them off?
Best Cinematography: Jacob
Haha I thought she was going to back into him as he left the parking lot. This is somehow even stupider.
I knew she would hit him since it is unexpected and she said watch out for idiots, but I thought she would pull out and just bang him.
There's an innuendo in there somewhere
Hehe pull out.
Hehe bang him
She failed to break his arms though
Something something every thread.
Now he's gonna have to use a coconut
She did tell you to watch out... sounded like a threat to me 😂
Not sure why he completely stopped at a yield sign with zero traffic coming
The white car didn't turn on his indicator. So he wasnt sure if it would continue I would assume. Better be safe than sorry. Even tho in this case who could have known his mom does this.
>Better be safe then sorry
Unfortunate misspelling :)
> Better be safe then sorry
The irony of this spelling error is hilarious.
The white car that was like half a football field away already turning to its right?
> The white car didn't turn on his indicator.
do you have some secret hi-res footage that shows that? because the 12 pixels in the video posted absolutely do not make that clear.
also, while I'm not taking a shred of guilt from the mom, captain baddass over here with the tucked in mirrors should spend some time learning the basics of defensive motorcycle driving, which becomes with peripheral awareness. when slowing down at a stop like that, you want to have proper lane positioning and know what is goign on behind you (mirrors in a better position help that but don't look as cool) when you are coming to a stop.
Stopping at a yield isn't being safer, though. Stopping isn't the equivalent of removing yourself from the equation. When you're on the road, the safest thing you an do is be predictable - being stopped in a less common spot to stop is less predictable.
To get hit by his mom
Help me stepmom! I’m stuck in traffic!
No traffic? Is the white car just invisible?
Are Yield signs like Give Way signs? In that case, I feel like he could have got out before the white car got up to him. Doesn't it also turn off? I suppose it would help if they were using their indicators
He could have beaten the white car, but he chose not to which is fine. Yield just means, go if there isn't cars, but stop if there is cars and proceed when able.
Ah yeah, same as a give way sign here then. Same shape too, different colour though.
Tbf, when I first started to drive I'd stop at most give way signs because I wasn't confident enough in my ability to 1. read the oncoming vehicle's speed and 2. get out and go and accelerate in a timely manner so as to not hold up the oncoming traffic if I did pull out in front of them (or to not get rear-ended by them). If that makes sense.
Yield means yield. If traffic is approaching, you yield to them, as in you stop or slow down to avoid them. Sometimes speeding up is acceptable, depending on the situation, but if you're on a motorcycle it's especially important to consider what the safest option is, since you're not sitting in an armored box like everyone else. In this case, ironically, taking the safest option caused him to get hit, but it's not like he could've predicted that.
Thank you! I was wondering that myself. He’s the one we have to look out for!
Really? Is he? So because someone is completely stationary when they may not need to be you just barrel into the back of them?
Absolutely not, but it's clear upon approach that it's a low traffic area. His mom should have hit the brakes, though she was likely looking over her shoulder for oncoming traffic and missed him, stopped at a yield when he didn't need to be. She's still in the wrong, but even if her son was driving a car I'd say he isn't a great driver either.
Edit: seems that my wording is confusing. I'm not defending the mom. She is 100% at fault. I was adding to the argument that the biker is who needs to be watched out for by drivers. He stopped when he didn't necessarily need to. Which is fine, and acceptable for cautious driving expected from a motorcycle, just not always expected by careless drivers (like his mom)
>but it's clear upon approach that it's a low traffic area. His mom should have hit the brakes, though she was likely looking over her shoulder for oncoming traffic and missed him
That just makes no sense. So he shouldn't stop because it's a low traffic area, but she can just look into random directions to check traffic? There clearly was another car, he wasn't sure if it was turning or not so he yielded(he didn't have to but it's hardly a horrible move). She moved bumper to bumper at speed while looking at random things. She was clearly moving too quickly and too close for her reaction and head turning times.
This is literally 100% her fault. If you think otherwise then that is because you are not observing basic road safety.
Nah I’m sorry man this is 100% on the driver that hits the other person. Yeah okay undue hesitation isn’t exactly a good driving trait but the first thing you learn on the roads is to look out for unexpected situations such as someone yielding when they don’t necessarily need to. Even if she was looking the other way as she hit him she had all the time in the world to see that there was an obstacle she needed to stop for
You are retarded. He was a stationary object at an intersectional merge point.
If you notice just after he gets hit, a red and white truck goes by, he probably was waiting for that truck.
Actually where did it come from? Because when he glances over his shoulder I didn't see anything and then when after he got hit that truck went speeding by. Wth
When you’re on a motorcycle, you don’t have the safety bubble of a car, if you’re not overly aware of the possibilities of human error across the roads, something will eventually happen. I’d rather yield cautiously than take a chance at being swiped.
It’s scary man, people do not drive like they’re a meat sack flying across land in a 2 ton ball of steel.
Every time I get back in a car after riding I feel like I’m in a womb.
Who doesn’t want to hit their kid sometimes
Me. There is no want. Let me find billy brb
Edit: Billy doesn't exist yet let me ask my gf and explain id like to make billy to beat billy
Edit 2: she said fuck off she's sleeping. Fml
Maybe you should get some sleep too
Man this is a risky comment to make in reddit lol but here you are.
This is the classic, eternal and in this case totally justified complaint to Mother:
This is one of the best posts I’ve seen on here
I feel so bad for her
Seriously, I could see this being traumatizing. To both of them really.
It would be, but she sounded at first so supportive and nice to her kid, then becomes absent minded while driving.
She is absolutely not the victim in this situation. She shouldn't be fucking driving.
We can still blame her and be empathetic to her emotions.
Thank you for saying something that literally nobody in comment sections seems to ever understand
Nobody is saying shes a victim. Just the contrast of her being so supportive and to “be safe” then she smashes into him. Good mom skills, horrendous driving skills.
Of course she's not the victim, it's still absolutely crushing to be the reason someone you love gets hurt
I feel so bad for the guy. You know the last thing he wants is a random motorcycle body shop cost, and if this guy is a decent man, which I assume he is, he's not gunna make his mom pay for it.
Insurance is required for all cars and bikes in the US... he nor his mom will end up paying for this(assuming they both are insured). The only thing that will happen here is moms premiums will go up and he might have to pay a deductible depending on his coverage.
Sounds like a good deal for the insurance companies.
Not all of the US, I live in New Hampshire and we don't need insurance. Live free or die and all that. I believe Virginia does not require it either.
Remind me to never drive in New Hampshire
Remind me to die in New Hampshire
And motorcyclists don't need helmets
Meh, when I bought my car and got insurance I was much more chill with my driving compared to when it was my bosses car lol
>While New Hampshire does not have a mandatory insurance law, the state does require you to pay for costs of bodily injury or property damage resulting from a car accident you caused. Your driver's license will be suspended until you can show that you can meet the costs of the offending accident.
The problem with this is that credit lenders require full coverage insurance, so the people with old junkers who can't afford to cover any damage from an accident are the ones who are uninsured.
Are you a resident? I grew up next door in VT and never realized this about NH. Seems like a minor savings to be one accident away from bankruptcy and a suspended license. Nevermind the fact that you wouldn't be legally allowed to drive out of state.
Yeah, I have lived here most of my life. It really is not worth it. My brother was t boned a few months ago by someone who was uninsured and his only course of action to get paid would be to sue him.
I insurance for both my and my wife's car is only about $100 a month too.
Wait are you serious? Lmao I did not know that. Very interesting!
If they go through insurance, both their premiums will go up, and at those speeds it's probably cheaper to fix it out of pocket and not involve insurance at all.
*"...if this guy is a decent man, which I assume he is, he's not gunna make his money pay for it."*
What's he gonna pay for it with then, if not his money? Every biker knows ass, grass or cash.
"Fuck! Mom, you broke my arms!"
Take your upvote and get the fuck outta here
Finding out that's his mom made it even better.
This feels so Reno 911 / Trailer park boys. I love it
Why did he stop tho? It's just a yield sign, and he had plenty of time to get going.
White car wasn t indicating that it was turning, he thought it was going straight. Also, when you re in a car, you can accelerate while exiting a turn without losing traction. On a bike you can't do that, you ll oversteer, also balancing the bike off of a stationary turn is tricky for some.
I was once rear-ended by a kid who was on the phone with his mom at that very moment telling him not to use his phone while driving. Doh!
"His own choomba hit him" - Judy (maybe)
There is a name for this phenomenon — everyone thinks there are idiots in the road mad that they are not one of them — sorta like saying all students are above average.
It's called unrealistic optimism bias
What's the name?
Reminds me of how we often think "wow smh I hate traffic" without realizing that you ARE traffic lol
Man i wish i knew the follow up
Watch out for idiots🤣🤣🤣
She warned him
This ain’t new, but still fantastic. Also she clearly hates Jacob.
What the fuck is this?
"What did I just say?"

When she said "watch out for idiots", she warned him of her.
Why did the biker fully stop? There wasn't a stop sign?
1. people are allowed to stop at junctions when there isn't a stop sign for any reason
2. The white car wasn't indicating, so it's safer to wait to see where they're going than to just assume they're turning and risk getting rammed in the side
Plus, just after he gets hit, a red and white truck goes by, might have wanted to wait for it to pass.
Edit: sorry dude, I'm on the blue team
Bruh, wtf. Christmas gonna be awkward now.
I blame Jacob
im sorry for laughing
I was so confused bc I started watching when he was already on the road. I was like wtf do they know each other?
“I’ll see you in court mum!”
To be fair, she did tell you to watch out.
