There's a slim chance you'll end up with a room. This freshman class is the biggest UNF has had so far and most freshman who have secured a dorm has to have a third roommate with the influx of admitted students. Definitely want to start looking for other housing options cause your chances aren't looking good especially with move in being 17th and 19th of this month.
You can try the CO 26 group chat on Patio. There should be people living off campus still looking for a roommate in their apartments. Patio link is on instagram @unfco2026. Sorry bout your situation
OMG They need another building or something in the email I got it said that over 100 first-year students were on the waitlist hopefully they figure something out fast 🥲
That’s crazy there should have been some sort of limit during the contract, or if they knew these many students were coming in made better arrangements. And why so late?!!! I got to call tmrw to see if it’s not too late to make my courses online, but I also don’t want to change it and they go and tell me I have a room. My anxiety is through the roof😣

I'm sorry to hear that! are you still on the waiting list? I'm a reporter with News4JAX- we've been covering this. Feel free to reach me at [email protected]
this happened to me too, i honestly don’t know what i’m gonna do i’m literally panicking bc i live 3 hours from jacksonville and know nobody in the area
Same and rent is extremely high in the area this is so unorganized and they should told us this early not 2 and a half weeks before the start of school?!
I’m gonna call them tmrw to see but idk if I should switch my classes now and then I get a room and then can’t leave the dorm. Or wait to hear that I’m completely dormless and then switch my classes.
I’m not sure but I have spoken to my advisor over the phone about hybrid teaching so more than likely your advisor. 904-620-2797 this is the number I called. Good Luck! And I hope u get a room:)(
It's not even the problem of the size of the freshman class as much as it's the biggest group to ever want to live on campus. The cost of rent has made everyone want a dorm room, which is causing enormous problems, and by now a huge number of dorm students have found apartments, but that's not happening either. There will be a group that end up withdrawing from UNF before the start, so there will be some rooms come open. Not sure what the usual percentage is, or how that will correlate to this year. I would think number 5 *should* get in, but who knows at this point.

Is it good that I’m 5th on the waitlist or does it not really matter?
That's something I'm not sure about. I doubt the people who have secured housing are dropping this close to fall start.
Okay, thanks for letting me know. I’m currently crying and throwing up🥲

Ok thanks
The same thing happened to me, I hope I get moved into a dorm because I really don’t have a backup plan lol
No seriously I live 4 hrs away from Jacksonville and rent over there is so expensive!! I’ve been cry for the past few hours🥹
Literally I’ve emailed the housing director telling him I NEED to have a dorm. And I don’t feel like commuting to campus everyday as a freshman 😭😭
And classes start in 18 days 🥲 I really hope a room opens up or the triple some rooms
Yeah hopefully, I’ll be praying for us both 😔
Definitely I wish nothing but the best for u did they tell u what spot your in?
30, which makes the chances of me getting a room very slim 😕
OMG They need another building or something in the email I got it said that over 100 first-year students were on the waitlist hopefully they figure something out fast 🥲
Yeah I don’t understand how you don’t have enough room for that many people. And I read an article that said over 360 students don’t have rooms.

Honestly, they should have stopped the applications once they seen how many students there was. College is stressful and I haven’t even started yet.
Yeh what a bummer!! I’m hoping for a great big miracle at this point.
Me too, but I will be contacting housing to let them know I desperately need a dorm
No seriously I have no family in the area, this is the only school I wanted to attend, rent for a 1 bedroom is high as ever in this climate.

right?! i’m so stressed now, do you know how i could check if it’s too late to register for online classes or something??

yeah ik what you mean it’s so frustrating,, do you know who i would have to call so i could do the same?
