How are you shrinking it? I've never had issues with it getting blurry before.

Girly_Plays

I dunno. Somebody else did it in photoshop. Made it the 112px and twitch auto shrinks it from there but it looks a mess ill try post a pic

[deleted]

An emote artist should be resizing the image to ALL the required sizes, not having Twitch auto shrink it. They should be sending you 3 images, not just one, do not use auto-resizing.

Girly_Plays

He did send me 3 emotes but the ones he resized are blurry as well. Also he tried his best, I dont think he's an emote artist, just a helpful viewer 👉👈 I wish I wasnt so technically challenged myself 😅

[deleted]

They are more than likely not using a sharpening scaler for the emote when they downsize it. Face emotes never tend to come out the sharpest either.

Girly_Plays

Dang. What can I do :(

[deleted]

If they are using photoshop, they need to follow [this](https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/resizing-image.html) and make sure they are re-sampling

Girly_Plays

Is there a way that maybe you'd do it? I'd pay you if need be, its just that he's a viewer and I really dont wanna be like "so uhm abt those emotes you made for me". I dont wanna make em feel bad🥺 but if not, thats okay as well, ill try to look for professionals then this time 🙏

I unfortunately have other projects, and cannot take this at this time. However, we have a [service megathread](https://new.reddit.com/r/Twitch/collection/7cbee712-e1da-44ae-99a2-1d194e9e7568/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=usertext&utm_name=Twitch&utm_content=t3_hi9i18) with many great artists who will be able to help!

Girly_Plays

Thank you so much!

Hmm ya I can see it's a little pixelated. I've always just put my full size images into an online image shrinker you can find on google and haven't ever had any issues with them looking blurry.

Girly_Plays

Wait you found ones that work? :o

jadziax

You can resize images in Paint 3D, which comes free with Windows 10. Open your original size image in the program --> go into Canvas -> check the "lock aspect ratio" and "resize image with canvas" boxes --> enter the size you want and bam. This is literally how I resize all my emotes and I think they look pretty good

Girly_Plays

Ill try that!

wheresderek

The one called simpleimageresizer has never let me down

TotalPitch_

Emote artist here. Try asking your friend with photoshop to resize the 112 into 56 and 28 for you to submit with advanced settings. Hopefully photoshop will handle rendering the image to smaller sizes better than the auto resizing feature that twitch has.

Girly_Plays

He tried and its blurry for him as well :( i dont wanna bug him much bc hes a viewer and did it out of kindness so i dont wannu like Karen him and stuff 👉👈 but i am now looking for an emote artist if you are interested 👀

TotalPitch_

Thats completely understandable, and commissions are open! I posted in the service megathread if youre interested in checking out my work. And hey, if my doesn't fit what you're looking for, I can help you find someone :) Also if you want I could give resizing your emote a try, feel free to DM me if you want!

rowletbaby

Hello! if you still need some help with resizing your emotes, I could try to take a look at them in photoshop! You can msg me on here 💖

jadziax

Ok, so not all pictures are good fits for emotes. Pixels are only so small... In the example you gave, I think the detail just can't be captured right at that scale. The entire square is only 28 pixels across and the picture you chose doesn't take up the whole thing, so it's even fewer pixels to work with.
