Fr come on the entire point of this is for it to be posted around by everyone who's obviously going to disagree. Guy just picked the most famous youtuber and thought of what to say to get some ragebait going. Such easy advertising.
I read a lot about charity/kindness content in this comment section, but does anyone have the backstory about the accusations of racism and homophobja and the right wing connections?
The only thing I ever remember going in that direction is a bit he did on the TMG podcast, where he rolled up in a Gucci tracksuit. But it was a joke for the podcast and everyone who has common sense knew that.
Yeah it's literally an altruism machine. People see good things happen to people and watch that and want to see more. Them viewing/being a fan generates the funds for the next video propelling the cycle.
You can say Mr Beast isn't being genuine (and we will never truly know what his intentions are or not) but at the end of the day the good is being done. People who gatekeep people doing good things behind intention are arguing that less good things should happen because of moral or ethical purity.
Exactly. So many complained that he paid for 1000 blind people to have their blindness cured. If I was in that situation idgaf what his intentions were and would still be happy my blindness was cured. Even if he does have bad intentions - he’s still helping people without hurting other people. Idk why people bring up the fact he said a racist joke when he was 15 as a way to try “debunk” his good actions.
Except nobody was complaining that he cured people's blindness. No one seems to care about what the actual problem was that people had. It was that the world shouldn't have to rely on the rich to suddenly decide to help out a handful of people. There truly is something demented about how much people dickride rich people for charity, but dont support actual systemic change to the way things are. The system should be changed so that *everyone* gets helped. The problem is bigger than Mr. Beast. But no, "hurr people mad cus he did a good thing."
There are some people criticizing him, fucking obviously, but you've all been entirely dishonest pretending thats what the entire discussion is about. It isn't.
I think the dialectic shouldn't be "mr beast sucks" but instead "it sucks we need a mr beast and nothing is being done to fix the system", i don't really care about his intentions and i don't think much about him beyond thinking hes kinda cringe but there really is no reason to think more of him than any other charity, they're malleable to being used for profit and them providing basic necessities means the state has failed us, we can see their contributions as good things and attack the government not the charities (unless they're particularly scummy which i do not believe mr beast is)
i think its fair to criticize him as long as we can agree a good thing is still being done, his goals and methods are questionable, it just shouldn't be more than a side tangent in critiques of the much broader systemic issue at hand
A large percentage of Gen X practically worship Mr. Beast and only see what they want to when it comes to him and Elon alike. Sadly it’s not their fault, Boomers and Millennials both contributed to a society that placed more value in celebrity worship than philanthropy that doesnt involve a camera and an influencer. We all created the world we live in, and the people who criticize Mr. Beast fail to see that he’s doing more good for the world than 99.9% of billionaires or corporations in the world ever do.
I’m not saying filming doing kind things is the key to fixing our problems, I’m saying that at least he’s doing something and actually helping people in tangible ways.
Ever heard of “stans”? Or how crazy fandom can get, still in 2023…
Or the fact that some east asian music artists (technically “entertainers”) are literally called “idols”. lol, check out BTS’ stans called ARMY
I was a child before and during 2007 + I'm actually the same age as Mr. Beast and gonna be real. I wasn't saying racist things. Think that might just be some of you.
I'm not trying to say that i wasn't being insensitive but it was a result of a different culture. I'm saying as a culture it was very present and accepted. Watch any television - someone's gonna call someone gay or a f*g
It doesn't excuse it, but people mature and grow and learn ways that they used to be wrong. To act as though people didn't do stupid shit when they were children is just simply foolish.
Maybe Mr beast is an asshole maybe he's not. I don't give a shit about him really. I'm just saying that particular piece of evidence says nothing to the person he is today.
Edit: googled his age. I'm 7 years older. So. That's a thing.
Anyone who films themselves “helping others” isn’t really there to just help. They’re also making it about themselves, exploiting the people needing help, and taking away the empathy and compassion for clout. Mr. Beast is the worst!
Except the money he gains from it makes the help possible in the first place, and he gets permission unlike others.
We have no idea how much he has given off camera, which is exactly how you want it, right? Unkown?
u know he gives himself a big fat chunk of that money right? he literally has multiple food products and branding which he started up with that money. how do you think he buys literally anything?
As far as getting permission, if you were poor and you had two options, which would you choose? A. Getting whatever this wealthy man is offering you in exchange for being recorded. or B. Getting nothing and being just as hungry or poor or whatever the situation is.
Many people will pick A, even if its not what they want, because Mr. Beast offers them something they do not have and likely need.
Yeah, he uses the money to get more money without hurting people, all cases considered that's pretty good.
And you are saying he is genuinely helping them and all he asks in return is to record it
what i am saying is that he is taking advantage of people's situations to get views for HIMSELF, of which he cuts himself a chunk from the profit. A person in need does not deserve cameras in their faces in order to receive help. It is humiliating.
Just because he is doing Some good does not make him exempt from criticism. There are very bad people who manage to contribute to society in a positive manner aka Mrr beast can still be a bad person who takes advantage of the poor while also donating a PORTION of the profits to people in need.
He literally uses that money to help people, what do you think he’s gonna somehow produce thousands for people’s surgeries. Mr Beast just asked if people could pick the chocolate up (which Walmart employees should’ve done) and people do it out of their own kindness, but that’s branded as free labour
i never discussed chocolate or surgeries. But if this is about how people destroy his chocolate displays at walmart, technically he is requesting free labour from others, as he is asking for people to do physical actions for his needs or wants. Kind acts are still considered free labour.
About how he uses the money: I've stated previously that he uses a Portion of the money he makes from other's terrible situations, not all of it. A big part of it goes to funding his brands and other wants.
It’s not free labour when they aren’t employed by MrBeast himself, MrBeast is just trying ask his viewers to help, so they decided volunteer out of kindness which helps Walmart and MrBeast himself.
MrBeast uses the majority of the money earner to fund his chocolate company and all his other products so he can earn more money. Where do you think the money comes from to fund all the charities he has done?
MrBeast cured blindness for 1000 people in many different countries which would cost him a total of 3.2 million USD. Where do you think all this money comes from? His Ad revenue and the chocolates. How does he make more chocolate? Use his money to buy more ingredients. How does he get Ad revenue? Making videos. I don’t understand why you would target him even though he spent slightly less than the average person earns in a year to help people.
He doesn't shove cameras in people's face thought, he organizes and gets permission first, then records to make money.
How is it objectively different than any other business if he isn't hurting anyone? For that matter he helps far more people than other businesses yet you dont go after them.
You seem to think taking a portion of profits, like anyone ever, and not giving litterally everything he has to charity makes him a monster.
again, going back to my previous point of how a person in a desperate situation will deal with cameras if it means their needs are being met. Many people are willing to deal with anything if the exchange is something important for their survival.
It is different from other businesses because his business is being held up by the fact that there are people in situations who need help. He is gaining success from their suffering. His entire business fully depends on showing the situations of others and profiting from it. This is common for nonprofit businesses, but Mr. Beast is a person, not a nonprofit. He has his own desires and spends the money earned from the people's situations on whatever ventures he wishes.
Taking a portion for his Needs is fine. Taking a portion to build an entire business seems odd, especially since that money isn't even meant for him, it's meant to help others.
Well 1, those people will suffer regardless, how is him helping those people while being not at all intrusive about it so bad?
2, it's his money, it isn't "meant" to help others, he just uses it for that alot, it's meant to be his and do with it what he wants that's within the law.
he could help them Without profiting off them to the point where he can literally launch businesses with multiple product lines. Empathy is a key factor here. Many people do not want their situations posted out to the world, much less for the benefit of some youtuber.
the money should belong to charity, considering he makes a profit from those in terrible situations.
Just because something is within the law does not make it ethical.
In his original videos, that wasn't true, it was dependant on the videos success that he stay above poverty line.
Nowadays, he does those videos less, and we truly have no idea what he does with his earnings, it's entirely possible he gives non insignificant portions to charity.
And why should the money belong to charity? A charity could never make it, he does because he runs a business not a charity, now, weather he gifts any amount to charity is unknown and presumptuous to assume its nothing
In the case of filmed philanthropy, there are, realistically, 2 possible scenarios. Either the person gives money/helps someone, films it, and makes more money than he spent, or no money/aid is given at all. Which one of these has the greatest net outcome?
Yes, ideally people would do good things for the sake of doing good things, but that is an ideal, not a reality, at least not on any large scale. People, in general, aren't willing to go out of their way to donate even a few dollars a year, much less anything more substantial.
This guy sounds like a complete idiot. Mr Beast has donated 1000x more than this could ever do in 10 lifetimes. So much socialist/communist propaganda on this sub now, it’s a shame.
Well said. The only reason this guy hates Mr Beast is because he doesn’t openly support communism/socialism. There are plenty of millionaires who claim to be socialist and communists that didn’t donate a fraction of what Mr Beast donated
I don't get the Mr. Beast hate.
He made mistakes? Oh no. He makes mistakes sometimes today? Oh no.
He has a lot of money and used it first to help his friends and family and now is trying to make more money to help strangers and is figuring it out as he goes?
Oh no!
.......................What a monster.
why is this cringe? mr beast is an unpleasant person who uses the poor for views and has been known to be very rude with his peers
unsure why the guy used the duet to say this tho
>uses the poor for views
Kinda, but pretty much all of the stuff he does in the main channel aka donating and hosting challenges is a literal money hole. Pretty much all of his other sources of revenue feed into the main channel (at least that's what he claimed in an interview)
im not asking why is it on the cringe tiktok page, ik not everything here is cringe. I meant why is the person saying this is cringe, aka the cringe flair
Thank you. I read some of their comment history. Seems like using "autistic" as an insult is right on par with the other pathetic crap they post. I'll take my empathic, loving, funny autistic son over a right wing extremist any day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, HXMason. 🙂
So many dumbass people defending MrBeast.
Pitchfork philanthropy is not cool, and neither is being a marketing tool to literal children for scumbag corporations.
Can we land somewhere in the middle tho? He does do a lot of good. Does that mean he’s above criticism? No! Does it mean that he’s a saint? No! But he undeniably does a lot of good. Charity doesn’t need to happen in some wholisticly pure way in order to achieve its goals. If you have criticism for him voice that, but the argument that “he earns money with his charity” is so stupid. Legally he’s not even a charity he is a for profit organization that does good for communities. You don’t go and complain how the charity campaign that coke did was only go sell more bottles of coke. All i wish is that if we have critisism for that dude that we could be a bit more precise with what we criticize about him. If you don’t like something he promotes, be vocal about that. But stop with that useless “um actually he’s not even that much of a pure saint as everyone believes” argument.
Communism: a system of governance that has caused the most death and suffering. It is also known for its followers who claim that all the previous attempts along with their casualties "didn't count" and that "we will get it right this time guys, I swear"
tell that to the millions slaughtered and starving in anti union activities, expansionist wars, covert operations trying to topple socialist governments/organizations, lack of welfare, labor outsourcing etc. The only reason these deaths are so popularly attributed to communism is because you’ve been fed that line your entire life. Any death under capitalism isn’t the fault of the system, just a kink to be worked out by policy. every death under Socialism/Communism (including projected birth rates for some reason) is hard evidence of the system’s “brutality”. Idiot.
How much has Mr Beast donated? And no, I don't mean his viewers or followers, how much has he himself donated?
I really don't know anything about him so I'm genuinely curious if he has or if you're just mistaking viewers giving money as his money.
Tbh doing a bunch of kind things, losing money on those things and sometimes wasting money is the entire point of mrbeast and that why I and others watch. For the extreme things he does with his wealth and for the kindness videos

tbh those cinnamon rolls look bomb
Yah, anyone know what that machine he put them in was? A mini oven?
[It's an air-fryer/one-pot countertop oven.](https://www.ninjakitchen.com/exclusive-offer/SF301WBKT/ninja-speedi-rapid-cooker-and-air-fryer/)
Oh, cool, thank you!
About Mister Beast… What a great idea to make cinnamon buns in your air fryer.
Classic Tik Tok bait
Fr come on the entire point of this is for it to be posted around by everyone who's obviously going to disagree. Guy just picked the most famous youtuber and thought of what to say to get some ragebait going. Such easy advertising.
Okay I get it now. I don't watch Mrbeast, he's not on my radar at all. But every once in a while I'll see people with slander but never any evidence.
I read a lot about charity/kindness content in this comment section, but does anyone have the backstory about the accusations of racism and homophobja and the right wing connections?
11 hours still no sources but more charity comments
The only thing I ever remember going in that direction is a bit he did on the TMG podcast, where he rolled up in a Gucci tracksuit. But it was a joke for the podcast and everyone who has common sense knew that.
He films them whilst he does his work because that’s literally how he funds his work in order to continue donating.
Yeah it's literally an altruism machine. People see good things happen to people and watch that and want to see more. That’s not his fault the system is the way it is - so regardless he shouldn’t be criticised especially when he uses his wealth the way he does.
Again, the criticism isn't about him.
It’s dishonest to pretend there is no criticism about him
There are some people criticizing him, fucking obviously, but you've all been entirely dishonest pretending thats what the entire discussion is about. It isn't.
I really haven’t. So stop getting your knickers in a twist.
You have, actually, dumbass.
I think the dialectic shouldn't be "mr beast sucks" but instead "it sucks we need a mr beast and nothing is being done to fix the system", i don't really care about his intentions and i don't think much about him beyond thinking hes kinda cringe but there really is no reason to think more of him than any other charity, they're malleable to being used for profit and them providing basic necessities means the state has failed us, we can see their contributions as good things and attack the government not the charities (unless they're particularly scummy which i do not believe mr beast is)
I agree - the system should change. However he is not the one who should be criticised. A lot of the attacks are targeted at him which is unfair.
i think its fair to criticize him as long as we can agree a good thing is still being done, his goals and methods are questionable, it just shouldn't be more than a side tangent in critiques of the much broader systemic issue at hand
That’s fair. However what is questionable about the method? The reason it gets funded is because it gets viewed.
The real cringe is that I have no idea who Mr Beast is and I hate Tiktok
Ya, same, we can be cringe together.
A large percentage of Gen X practically worship Mr. Beast and only see what they want to when it comes to him and Elon alike. Agreed honestly
"He's been known to say racist things" Dude no fuck. everyone that was a child or young adult before 2007 did.

Right, so the solution is to exploit the desperation of poor people for a profit and broadcast it to millions of people online
Yep, that is 100% what I said. Nothing slips by you.

Aw. Leave Sam out of this.
Bro is a communist, he's obviously dumb as shit bro.
Explain communism without using Google. GO
Lol they never can
Never.l going to happen haha
Idiot.
You just described capitalism my dude.
... Sam is the cinnamon bun guy.
Wait why are ppl down voting this bruh
Rich person gives money to not rich people willingly and for free= capitalism apparently
I wonder how much this gentlemen had donated to help the poor....
How much has Mr Beast donated? And no, I don't mean his viewers or followers, how much has he himself donated? I really don't know anything about him so I'm genuinely curious if he has or if you're just mistaking viewers giving money as his money.
Who wouldve thought that he need to EARN MONEY FROM DOING STUFF IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO GIVE OUT FREE STUFF
Why is the guy on the left yellow?
Tbh doing a bunch of kind things, losing money on those things and sometimes wasting money is the entire point of mrbeast and that why I and others watch. For the extreme things he does with his wealth and for the kindness videos
