I CAN'T BELIEVE IT
LIFE IS SUCH A FUNNY JOURNEY
THIS IS THE ELEVENTH track on Comedown Machine
Holy shit after 8 years they finally played this.
thanks im crying
If they keep implementing Comedown Machine tracks into their setlists I might actually have no choice than to make the journey to Berlin next year to see em lol.
This is gorgeous. Finally.
I love how self aware they are that they know this song is a favorite from CM.
I mean it was top 5 on their Spotify for quite some time
Is he singing the chorus with his chest voice? Either way he sounds pretty damn good for arguably one of the toughest sections in their discography
Sounds like falsetto to me
He has that really fluttery wide vibrato when he does falsetto at the end of notes, so I’m pretty sure that’s what he is using cuz he has that all throughout the chorus.
He’s leaning into his mix, i think his voice cracking probs tend to happen when he goes for straight chest so it’s good that his newer songs call for mix, much more consistent
Can we has Tap Out now? 🥺👉👈
Never did I think I would see the day
Love that they finally played it live but does seem a bit strange as a show opener. However, I will take what I can get
I thought it was symbolic since it's the last song of *Comedown Machine* where the Strokes almost stopped their time. Finally we got it as if it was their missing link. We will go on to the next chapter w/ *The New Abnormal*.
Love this explanation for it
I think it makes perfect sense - it's a little bit of a teaser, it eases you into things and gets you excited for the prospect of more.
This is also a song I’ve seen them play the recording for over the speakers as the show starts and the band walk on stage.
Knew it was gonna be a kickass show once they finished this song.
16-year-old me who clutched his Comedown Machine CD and waited all of 2013 for a tour announcement is elated right now!
Great view w/ beautiful lighting!
Did they start the show with this???
It was awesome!!
I moved from LA to Japan last month. FML
Welcome to Japan.
Was WAITING for this comment
Now I need Slow Animals live
Wow thanks for posting both my videos! It was such a surreal experience to be there and witness this song! Can’t wait to see them again next time they come back to LA
I’m so glad you captured these beautiful moments! I’m extremely grateful!
No problem! Glad I was able to contribute and get more people to experience the songs!
This is nuts
i thought it was a strange way to open but once they started it was just beautiful. what a night.
i can die now
Dat outro is nuts
It’s been 8 goddamn years
to witness this live was way too special. comedown machine and specifically this song hold a special place in my heart in general
I feel the exact same way. It’s one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs and I’m so grateful I got to see them perform it live for the first time.
what once seemed to be the song that would never be played live has now been lifted off the depths of their discography and is being given the spotlight. I'm very happy :)
What a start! Amazing.
Oh hell yes! Fucking love this song. I was so disappointed initially when I couldn’t find a live performance and then **boom** my prayers have been answered!
THIS IS SICK!
that was... actually way better than i expected it to be! love it!
oh my god this is crazy
oh my god this is beautiful
I am so sad I missed this and really, really hope they keep performing it.
I am so jealous
Oh, thanks for the post! Today I can be happy !! haha
What’s Nick playing? I see it’s some keyboard thing but can’t tell what he’s doing
TO me this, confirms
EDIT: that the lyrics posted everywhere for this song are completely wrong
its: "Having a Hard Time watching you"
not "I made up more time watching you"
Yep, was already obvious on the studio version
i thought so too. didn't stop casual listeners from perpetuating disinformation.
I hear guitar, but I'm just wondering, do they have people playing cellos or something?
His voice sounds great here.
The live debut was actually in Atlanta last Sunday was also the first song
