Me and my 2 mates booked this and agreed at the time we wouldn’t watch any of the films before going. Due to covid that was a 3 year wait it was worth it! 100% the way to watch this
The National Symphony Orchestra does this every summer at Wolftrap in Northern Virginia. Return of the King, La La Land, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. simply awesome experience.
One thing I love about this scene is the look on Legolas' face. He's in complete shock and total disbelief because as an Elf he and his people are basically immortal and legolas has lived his whole life in mostly a time of peace. To him the concept of death and the idea that somone you love deeply doesn't exist anymore was completely foreign and traumatic to him. Imagine thinking you have an eternity to spend with your loved ones and then they just cease to exist.
These are such cool concerts to go to.
My dad took me to one where they screened Star Wars Episode IV
Absolutely epic... What was hilarious is they played the 20th Century Fox song as well in the beginning!
I am a guitar player and i was lucky to be a part of this production a few weeks ago - it is touring all over the world i think.
If you get a chance to see this, do not hesitate! Luckily the guitar part was very limited - only used in the beginning of the score for the scenes in the Shire - so me crying for the rest of the performance was not an issue lol. It was a mix of this incredibly beautiful story that i watched so many times before, the music, the other musicians on stage giving it their best, and a feeling of coming full circle in my career that made it quite emotional for me, feeling blessed and privileged.
I saw the last evening performance of this at The Royal Albert Hall and they brought out Andy Serkis to do the intro! The whole performance was surreal and I’ll never forget it.
I had no clue this was even a thing. Being a musician who’s favorite series is lord of the rings this is now forsure near the top of my bucket list. I completely teared up halfway through the video. Seems like an insane experience.
I bought tickets for my family to see Return of the Jedi while the orchestra played the music. It's one of the coolest things we've ever done. Majority of my family are star wars nerds too
Saw Game of Thrones live in concert. Super emotional and such a great experience. This site is a great place to go to find these types of concerts in your areas.

The Mann Center in Philadelphia showed all 3 movies with the Philadelphia Orcbestra. My brother and I went to see Fellowship and Return of the King. FRICKIN. AMAZING!!!
I wanted to see this when they did it with Star Wars and nobody wanted to go with me so I didn’t go. Glad that they did it with LOTR too. Would go alone now if it was playing.

I cried. That must have been an unbelievable experience to see with orchestra.

Some humans are actually moved by art such as music. I felt the same feeling. I cried. Also because it's in Cleveland, OH..
Because we weren't there in person
Found Google's sentient AI. Silly robot, feels are for humans. For now.
I saw jurassic park like this and it was the bomb diggity.
We saw Back To The Future like this too, fantastic but very odd too.
Fuck. Just to imagine this experience is crazy.
I went maybe 10 years ago stoned out of my brain and I cried at how beautiful it was. Best show I’ve ever seen without question.
Yes you saw it but did you also taste it?

Ditto. It was a lot of fun
I saw Return of the King with a live orchestra in Paris. Best thing ever! If you're a fan and you have a chance to go, don't hesitate
This is how I see billionaires watch the premiere of a movie.

For Frodo
Seems not fair that the orchestra can't see the movie

I saw the first film like this at the Sydney Opera House for like $50 maybe a little over 10 years ago? They had a full choir as well.
I was there too!

I’ve seen a few hp films at our pac with a live orchestra. It’s amazing.
Maybe a dumb question but do they play the movie without the original soundtrack? Like a different version of the film with just dialogue?
Saw There Will Be Blood with a live orchestra and I was blown the fuck away. If you ever have a chance to catch a film this way, do it.
Where is this???
I feel like all the lights and ppl in front of the screen would make it hard to watch. 🤷
