I unironically would prefer it to Nancy and Jonathan breaking up and Nancy and Steve ending up together. (I don't even want to think about one of them dying )
Edit: autocorrect had a stroke
I agree, because Steve has grown up and isn’t the jerk he used to be, whereas Johnathan just… isn’t there for her it feels
Or Nancy just not getting with anyone, that works too
Jonathan and Steve go gay for each other, Will gets a girlfriend, and Nancy buys 17 cats.
In the final episode Nancy pulls out a clicker and clicks it three times, 17 cats shred a demagorgon in seconds to clear the way to Vecna.
We’ll convince them that WW3 didn’t start because of the Russia/Ukraine conflict. That just got us amped up. When Dustin died, it caused an uproar, resulting in complete and utter chaos. Based on the nations population’s votes on whether or not they stand by Dustin’s death, they would be marked Pro-Death and Anti-Death. As a result, all the ST fans would go to war with each other. Atom bombs are scheduled to release in a week’s time.
I was thinking more like we pretend to be from a thousand years into the future or something, and the ending of ST5 had a ***ripple effect*** over the centuries that lead to this horrible, dystopian future. Changing the ending of a TV show back in the 2020's could erase that dystopian future. haha
I actually can’t think of a more rage inducing death. Steve and Eleven are fan favourites but it’s half expected they might die, Dustin would cause a war.
Word of a drug kingpin starts spreading around Hawkins, but little does anyone know their true identity, Ted Wheeler. Going through Mike's stuff he finds out about the Upside-Down, finds a gate at one of Vecna's killing spots and goes in, taking full advantage of the alternate universe to become the season's surprise villain...
Methna.
Exactly. Part of me wants it to happen simply due to the uproar that would undoubtedly occur. Like damn, they really broke up the show's main couple for four seasons and instead put one of the two main characters in a gay relationship on major television. I would appreciate it simply due to the iconicness of it and the sheer fucking boldness.
I personally prefer Mike and Eleven and Nancy either single, with Steve or maybe Robin (I know it’s unlikely, but I just really want Robin to have a canon and confirmed relationship, let Robin kiss a woman in season 5)
I am not a Mike/Will fan but id be okay with it knowing all the homophobes of the u.s. would have a nuclear meltdown over it
Kind of like "Dumbledore is gay" on steroids
I don't want byler to not happen because I'm homophobic, I don't want it to happen because it wouldn't make sense for Mike to be gay. Maybe bi, but i think he would still love 11 more
I don't think they're saying everyone who doesn't like Byler is homophobic, just that the homophobic fans are obviously not going to want it to happen and will lose their mind.
It'd be badass as hell though.
Everyone cornered in, like, Mikes basement or something, and who saves the day by throwing a cast-iron frying pan into a demogorgons face?
Old Armchair Dad himself.
"Eddie you're back! You look like you have something to say; do you?
"Yes, I do Dustin. I HAVE TO GO NOW, MY PLANET NEEDS ME.
\- Eddie Munson died on his way to his home planet. -
If they split season 5 into two volumes they way they did season 4, and Eddie's actually back to life somehow in volume 1, then a month passes until the release of volume 2 and THAT'S where they kill him again, I'll be legitimately terrified of the consequences it'll have on all those hardcore Eddie fans 👀
Max dying, Steve dying, Will and Mike making out, Eddie or Alexi being revived, Vecna winning, a dream ending, Freddy Krueger showing up in Vecna's mind and absolutely destroying him, before proceeding to kill the main characters in their sleep, it turning out the Demogorgon from back in Season 1 both survived and was the actual one in control all along
Byler or stancy happening, also pretty much any main character dying i think people would have very strong opinions about ** edit: accidentally put jancy instead of stancy **
Yea, I think the Steve/Nancy ending would be the least popular one.
It would definitely cause chaos everywhere else.
I also think it's super unlikely and think Jancy is end game so I was kinda surprised by them suggesting it.
It wouldn't be well received on twitter either.
I honestly don't know what to expect. I would say that narratively speaking stancy would make very little sense and it would be a retcon of earlier seasons. But then I've seen showrunners make nonsensical choices in the past, I mean season 8 of GoT exists, so... 🤷🏻♀️
I disagree, it might rankle this sub and the Twitter community, but Steve is a huge fan favorite across the greater ST fandom, especially with Jonathan being a bit of a non-entity lately.
Nancy will likely survive and gain some prestigious job, either single or partnered with one of them. Jonathan’s arc seems more about finding a purpose and connecting more with his family and I’m not sure Nancy fits in that arc. It does fit within Steve’s arc.
Unfortunately, I think either Steve or Jonathan won’t survive to the end of the show. Whether the survivor ends up with Nancy is anyone’s guess.
I disagree. I think Jonathans plot is to finally find HIMSELF. Dude loves his family but is so traumatized he doesn't care about himself anymore. Him going to dream college, even if it's not Emerson, is actually very good ending for his storyline. Fingers crossed he is going to NYU or Emerson at the end.
He loves his family and her so much he is constantly sarificing himself. This is awful. Joyce needs to do something. It's not his fault that Lonnie left them, he is abused and traumatized TEENAGER, it's actually pretty scary for me that people want him to stay with them forever, when he has dreams and is in love. Dude had 0 friends, was working to pay bills, he was spending most of his time with his little brother. He needs to LIVE. He needs to finally understand that he doesn't need to be there all the time 😭
You misunderstood Jonathan's arc. Unlike Steve he always had dreams and ambitions, his issue is he feels he has to give up what he wants to take care of his family because he grew up with a single mother who struggled doing that on her own. Sacrificing everything again to stay with them wouldn't be the right end for his arc.
I would also argue that Nancy's arc doesn't really fit with the Winnebago dream.
Also, Steve is a fan favorite here and on twitter too, people simply don't like him with Nancy and found their scenes together this season to be forced.
There is no probably. Even for the people who are okay with a big death and have accepted it, that one will still evoke a strong emotional response. The sub would be at a frenzy.
Well since it seems like 40% of this fanbase only cares about relationships & not the actual show itself, the thing that comes to my mind would be if Will & Mike kiss & or ended up together that would cause a lot of commotion in this chat
Will and Robin fall in love, and the last episode is set in the future at their wedding, which is crashed by Eddie who was alive all the time and faked his death with the help of Scott Clarke
Something I thought about recently: what if they kill off Erica or Holly? No one sees it coming purely because they're so young, but neither of them are technically main characters, yet their deaths would have consequences on Lucas, Mike and Nancy in terms of really riling them up against Vecna in whole new ways.
It would be incredibly dark and I can't really see it happening, but it's definitely something actually unexpected.
I mean Nancy saw the death vision of Holly, what if they hurt her to some extent and she ends up getting hospitalized, I bet it would broke audience and especially Nancy who will go full in Sarah Connor mode
Jason comes back saves the day. Becomes president of the United States of america
Edit: misread the title as the best ending for Stanger things.:( . /s
Jason Is Kas. The first scene he appears in is beating Eddie's dead corpse and in the final episode he realizes that he's brainwashed and vecna is the bad one. He challenges vecna in a game of basketball. Vecna and demogorgens vs The Hawkins team including Jason, patrick, and Lucas. Chrissy is cheering on from the sidelines. The game is tied, 30 seconds of regulation. Lucas remembers Jason's words "pass it to me if we need a clutch". He does, Jason hits a nutty throw. Celebration. The final shots is Chrissy kissing Jason and brief glimpses of their happy ever after life.
Yes but what about the Russians? Perhaps they THREW THE GAME and Chrissy is a RUSSIAN PLANT. Ted Wheeler should be the basketball coach because the old one probably got unalived.
I love how you further this plot. The Russians are siding with vecna. Why?. I dunno. Chrissy can't be a plant she's an abaolute snack. Maybe ted wheeler sacrificed himself mid season. He finds out about the upside down and eleven powers. He reveals himself as a formal Cia agent. Just as he tells the gang about his formal life, evil man Sullivan and his bad guys shows up. Ted saves the og kid group and his last words are "eh I've seen stranger things"
I think that snacks can be plants...like sugar snap peas! You're right, it makes more sense that Angela was the Russian eyes on the inside because of course they had a better idea of where El was than the US government.
Also, the new police chief in season 4 runs for mayor. Everybody else is dead anyway and he's good people.
He finds a listening ear in Vecna, who is really very quite sensitive and does not enjoy being named after a 13-year-old's idea of who he is according to Dungeons and Dragons. Will and Henry Bond over how they have been put into boxes by other people their entire lives, one of them metaphorically and one of them physically, and the two of them have a deep forbidden love that no one understands. They run away to the upside down together where Will is his dark queen.
Byler being canon ( I can’t fathom it)
Dustin dying
Steve dying
Karen being 001s brother
Max waking up with no memories
The series ending with “ well we’ve seen stranger things”
Fans have became so used to worrying about certain characters dying would they be upset if no one dies? By season 5, the main characters have made it this far, it would be kind of deflating to start killing them off.
Allegedly, the Duffers said that the ending will upset some people, so I reckon it will actually upset a lot of people.
People being pissed and going on a riot seems inevitable.
That is a misinterpretation of what the Duffers said… People really need to listen to the actual podcast that this keeps getting pulled from.
Every time I see "quotes" pulled from it, it's a mishmash word salad and not what was actually said.
Yeah, from what I remember they said this in the context of "you can't please everyone no matter how good it is", correct? So they're not really saying that it's going to upset a lot of people
Exactly. They were not trying to make it sound like their ending would be controversial or that their goal is to upset people or even that it will upset most people. It's true that some will always be unsatisfied, but that is clearly not their goal.
I think they are acutely aware of busts like Game of Thrones or heck, even How I Met Your Mother, and they wish to avoid that.
But what if Barb becomes Kass from Breath of the Wild? Her ghost stands around and sings of legend, giving the main characters important information about the upside down.
I Unironically want Byler to be canon just to see homophobic old heads lose their minds. I'll prob get downvoted to oblivion but I honestly see more chemistry in Mike and Will then current season 4 Mike and Eleven. It was cute in Seasons 1-2 but post season 3 argument, it began to feel really forced. But who knows. I'll even take an ending where they all end up with someone completely different
Fucking imagine if Will is just like, “No, I’m not gay, it was all just a big misunderstanding!” and then he goes and fucks Eleven. Not saying this is going to happen, it would be awful if it did, but it would be really funny seeing this sub just go to shambles
Agree with comments about 08 and the other kids. I think they need to include that storyline though. Sorry. I think they way it was introduced was sloppy, but if you look at it separately it has the potential to be a really important subplot or spinoff. If they handle it better they could tie those kids in to helping Elle and the group succeed. I almost think they have to…
Anyway, that’s gonna piss people off but from a writer perspective that makes the most sense to me.
Not sure if this counts but, having the show air weekly instead of all at once.
Many of the shows I’ve been watching on other streaming platforms have started to air weekly, after many years of being able to binge a show this as been quite the surprise. Imagine how crazy this sub would get if there was a whole week between episodes.
If Byler end up being canon part of the fandom would be angry and the other part would be happy.
If you wanna leave everyone confused: a Big Fish type of ending: where it's revealed that the whole story is an exaggerated retelling of events that really happened (in-universe of course).
1. The whole story is revealed as the fantasy of two brothers trying to create a hit show; or
2. Special Musical Episode in which all the characters sing, especially if it’s the series finale.
Will’s sexuality has been so heavily discussed in this sub that Season 5 confirming him as straight would arguably break this sub more than Byler would.
Mike and El have been in love the whole series, so no. But one of the powerful things about Will's love of Mike is that it's real to life. How many times do people fall in love with someone or are infatuated with someone who has no interest in them sexually? I also think the writers are going to use Will as a key way to kill Vecna. Maybe El will find a way to close the rift? It will be interesting to see what comes up.
It would probably be insane if Vecna partnered with Eleven kind of like how galadriel gives the 'you would have a queen, terrible and dark' speech.
But I wouldn't mind seeing the two of them team up if Brenner survived getting shot up by the helicopter and all of season 5 is just this cat and mouse game of please let Brenner die...
How about no one ending up in a forever relationship with their elementary/high school boyfriends/girlfriends because that's usually a pretty bad idea.
imo byler being endgame would result in one of two options:
1. people freaking out over how there's no setup for it bc mike wasn't called any gay slurs beforehand
2. the same reaction the sub had to will being in love with mike, where people find evidence from the earlier seasons and say "omg they've been setting it up the whole time".
Any of the kids dying (even worse: in front of their family. Scene even more heartbreaking than Eddie and Dustin)
Wasn’t there a bit in the volume 2 trailer with the parents? I didn’t see that in season 4 so the parents all being brought up to date on the upside down would make my day. None of them know how badass their kids are.
Mike and Will. Absolutely. I squeal
Eddie coming back but in like a super badass fashion. Like they’re all about to die and then WHAM! Eddie shows up and smacks the shit out of vecna
Having at least 1 person dying per episode should do the trick, along other events.
Season premiere: Opening right after Season 4, Vecna appears in front of Eleven, Mike, Will Jonathan, Nancy, Joyce and Hopper. Eleven almost kills Vecna, but Vecna escapes despite having his arms and legs ripped off.
3 years timejump and Vecna was inactive during that time and a food crisis happens in Hawkins. Wayne Munson still tries to clear Eddie's name while help from Robyn and Vickie. We get flashbacks of Eddie Munson, but he is revealed to be a shittier person than Billy and Hellfire Club was originally planned by Eddie to be a gang of killers, but they got too obsessed with D&D instead.
Byler somehow happens. Eleven is revealed to be powerless again just when Vecna appears at Hawkins again (with new legs and arms) and kills a few civilians including Mike. Steve and Hopper torch Vecna with flamethrowers, but Vecna flees. Episode ends with Max not waking up at all and dies (Dustin, Murray, Lucas and Erica were at the hospital while Max dies).
Episode 2: Funerals for Mike and Max are held. Enzo & Yuri arrive to the funeral riding Katinka and that pissed off some folks. A pack of demodogs arrive and kill some of funeral attendants, including the rest of the Wheeler family except Nancy. It is revealed that Steve/Nancy/Jonathan were having a threesome inside the newly reconstructed Castle Byers.
Show ends with a big group reunion in which it is agreed that Yuri & Enzo fly Katinka outside of Hawkins to gather some food while Jonathan, Murray, Wayne Munson and Argyle travel in the Surfer Boy Pizza van to gather weapons at War Zone.
Episode 3: On the way back from War Zone, Jonathan, Murray, Yuri and Wayne Munson all die inside the Surfer Boy Pizza van because Vecna made Katinka (with Yuri inside the chopper transporting food, which was running low in Hawkins) crash into the van. Also, the weapons obtained are destroyed. Argyle was supposed to be in the van too, but he got off the van minutes before to take a piss in the woods. Also, Enzo jumped off the chopper before it crashed and landed into a tree, somehow surviving the fall. Vecna somehow didn't noticed Enzo nor Argyle.
Nancy and Steve are now a couple, again. Lucas and Eleven start a relationship because Murray talked both into it during the past episode (this is shown as a flashback). Suzie travels to Hawkins and meets Dustin in person. A funeral is held for Jonathan, Murray, Yuri and Wayne... but Vecna arrives and the episode ends.
Episode 4: Enzo & Argyle get high while walking back to Hawkins, but only Enzo arrives back to the gang while Argyle crashes at Castle Byers. Vecna confronts the gang. Dustin gets killed off by Vecna and Kali (without her gang) returns to save the gang from Vecna. Kali manages to hurt Vecna, who disappears before Hopper & Steve could torch him with flamethrowers. Voulme 1 ends.
Episode 5: Volume 2 begins with a 3-month time jump with Sam Owens somehow arriving to Hawkins and tells Eleven about the other NINA Project location, but dies from a sniper shot before he tells where it is. Then we get a road trip with Eleven, Lucas, Erica, Hopper and Enzo running from the American military and somehow find out that NINA Project is located in Tijuana. In Hawkins, Argyle manages to make his way back into Nancy's house and tells what happened. Nancy doesn't seem to care much for Jonathan's death, but nonetheless she and Kali make a plan to try and get rid of Vecna.
Episode 6: Turns out that NINA Project is located in Tijuana's Upside Down and somehow Vecna isn't aware of this. Eleven goes there to recover her powers. Meanwhile, Nancy is revealed to be pregnant because of Steve. Argyle gets Robyn, Vickie, Steve, Kali, Suzie, Dustin's mom and Will (despite some initial resistance) high on Purple Palm Tree Delight. This somehow disables Will's connection to Vecna and the Upside Dow, making Will unable to warn Joyce on time to avoid her getting killed by Vecna.
Episode 7: Eleven is fully powered again, but the American and Russian military arrive at Tijuana's Upside Down and a massive shootout happens. Erica and Enzo get gunned down. Eleven, Hopper and Lucas escape and make their way back to Hawkins.
Meanwhile in Hawkins, lots of Demo-Dogs, Demo-Bats, Demogorgons and a new giant monster start wrecking havoc in the city. It's up to Robyn, Vickie, Argyle, Will, Suzie, Chief Powell, Kali's Chicago gang and Lucas' parents + Dustin's mom to stop the monster while Kali, Nancy and Steve battle against Vecna. For the battle, Argyle managed to find a special locstion for weapons and stuff.
Episode 8 - FINAL: Lucas, Eleven and Hopper arrive to Hawkins just in time to see Steve decapitated by Vecna. Nancy lost both of her legs and Kali's energy got drained, making her not able to battle Vecna for now.
A final battle happens between Eleven and Vecna. Meanwhile, Hopper and Lucas hide Kali and Nancy, the latter calling for Lucas' parents to arrange transportation for Kali. Argyle and Will prepare a bathtub with salt and stuff for Kali to do remote battle. Hopper and Lucas battle monsters while protecting Nancy and Kali.
A Demogorgon mauled Vickie, but Robyn kills it. Robyn and Vickie share a kiss before Vickie dies. The Sinclairs arrive to remove Nancy and Kali, but Nancy refuses to leave with them. Hopper sighs and Kali leaves with Lucas and his parents, who now know that Erica is dead.
Kali recharges fast with Pineapple Pizza and piggybacks on Suzie, who goes on a rampage and kills 200 Demo-Bats. Somehow, Will recovers his connection to the Upside Down and tells Kali where Vecna's true body is located now. Kali stops piggyriding Suzie, who gets killed by the giant monster. Kali, Will and Lucas head for the Upside Down.
Meanwhile, Eleven is getting her ass kicked by Vecna. Hopper attaches Nancy on his back and try to help Eleven, but Eleven insists she ca tackle Vecna alone. Hopper and Nancy leave to find Kali, Will and Lucas just in time before they head to the Upside Down.
Hopper leaves Nancy in a safe place to have her commanding from afar the other survivors that are still in the battlefield. Hopper, Lucas, Will and Kali go to the Upside Down. Lucas brings a boombox and plays "Running Up That Hill" to draw the Demo-Bats away from Vecna's body in the Upside Down. Kali hurts Vecna badly enough and Eleven finally kills off Vecna for good, but dies as well.
The rest of the surviving gang set up an agency to deal with paranormal shit from now on. THE END.
Atleast 50% unrealistic to think there will be more alive than dead imo look at what they are up against, they haven't fought against the full force of the UD, if I'm wrong thats great going to be amazing either way!
The power of love is a mysterious thing. *Nods sagely.*
A 50% death rate would be worse than say, for example, GOT, and the Duffers have already clearly stated in post S4 interviews that Hawkins is not Westeros. I think few, if any will die, which is very consistent with previous seasons. From what they said, deaths have to serve a purpose, and not just be there for shock value. Inch up that prediction of survival by a character or seven. 😊
I just find unrealistic that the situation ahead isnt incredibly dangerous mayby they will take it as far as they can without people dying, I understand how 11 can hold her own and protect others just unsure about everyone else, I'm merely speculating Im happy with or without characters dying, I agree the deaths would have to serve a purpose as they have done, they would take the bullet for each other through love, standing by my thoughts they arnt just gunnah die and that's it for shock I feel theres alot "il sacrifice myself" for each other moments ahead I'm unsure of the outcomes going of what we've seen when its happened or came close to happening theres alot of love so theres alot to lose. I'm happy either way though good points 🙂
I think Mike or el dying. For the most part, me and most people agree one of these 2 dying would be both predictable and unsatisfactory. My personal opinion, I want these 2 to finally have a happy ending, their relationship has been a constant bumpy road. One of them dying would ruin it for me. Mike has constantly been so terrified of losing el. El lost max and for her to then lose Mike would pretty much destroy her and undermine the whole love is the true source of el's power thing.
But that's just my opinion
Will and Mike aren't ever getting together. Mike is definitely not gay, and his monologue to Will and his speech to Eleven clearly stated that he loved ELEVEN. Like if he liked Will why would he tell him he was scared of losing Eleven lol.

A full season where the lost sister is working to get to eleven, with the main Hawkins group only appearing in the final two episodes
And she doesn't even make it
I will be extremely sad if they wasted a whole episode on her let alone season
Even if the way waste a scene with her I swear
Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan entering a polygamous relationship
I unironically would prefer it to Nancy and Jonathan breaking up and Nancy and Steve ending up together. (I don't even want to think about one of them dying ) Edit: autocorrect had a stroke
I agree, because Steve has grown up and isn’t the jerk he used to be, whereas Johnathan just… isn’t there for her it feels Or Nancy just not getting with anyone, that works too
I know this wont happen, but i think Nancy not getting together with either of them would actually be the best way to wrap up her arc
Me too, she can find herself a better man without all this history, remain friends with them so they can be part of her trauma support network
Jonathan and Steve go gay for each other, Will gets a girlfriend, and Nancy buys 17 cats. In the final episode Nancy pulls out a clicker and clicks it three times, 17 cats shred a demagorgon in seconds to clear the way to Vecna.
yeah specially since it's the 80s
There were throuples in the 80s tho.
Dustin dying, while I can’t see it happening, would likely cause an in-sub riot.
That would probably break my heart in the inside considering that I don’t really cry at the movies
I will build a time machine and go back in time to change the ending of the show if this happens. I will be that upset.
Can I join you? I’ll bring snacks
Sure, but we need a plan. We'll pretend to be from the far future, a dystopian future. We're "back in time" to change ST5 and save the future. haha
So it’s “Travelers” with a different humanity killing event? I like it!
Sure, but we're going back in time with some style! We're going back... to the past... ***in the DeLorean!!!***
can I come too? and while we're at it can we stop them from killing off Bob?
Sure, but it'll be cramped. Bring a pillow. Wait, if we save Bob, then there's no Hopper-Joyce romance. Are you OK with that?
oh man.. you've put me in a difficult position, I guess I'll settle for saving Eddie
Yes, save Eddie with time travel!
PROTOCOL THREE

I like it!
Dustin dying would probably make me weep for weeks...and im a grown ass man
I actually can’t think of a more rage inducing death. Steve and Eleven are fan favourites but it’s half expected they might die, Dustin would cause a war.
Lalo Salamanca beign revealed as the main villain
Bravo Vince!
Vrabo Ginve!

finger is the only one that can stop him
Whats up with okbc members and this sub
don't ask me I'm just insane
DnD ending would end the world
El or/and Will dying would definitely cause an uproar
Most of the main characters dying would cause an uproar.
### A main character dying in episode 1
i’d be down for this, but given the fate of max in season 4 (surviving when it doesn’t seem possible), this feels unlikely
this! I wanna feel the stakes immediately.
It all being a dream or a DND game.
I would throw my remote at my tv please for the love of Alexei don’t let that happen.
I would scream
Steve, finally sickened with being left responsible for a bunch of kids, snaps and brutally murders all of them with nothing but his bare hands.
Lmao! Is Dave Benihoff and D.B. Weiss the writers now? That’s a GoT level plot twist.
This would simultaneously piss me off and make me laugh so hard
All the main characters die except eleven whose mind breaks and spends the rest of her days with her mother
This is actually a really good one! Would break my heart to pieces but it would be good
Unironically a better ending than Eleven saving the day by holding her hand out and screaming (again)
Funny, I see people say this a lot, but this only happened in season 1 and 2 that I remember? Maybe I'm misremembering
Yeah, this 'joke' stopped being funny when she obviously didn't save the day at all at the end of season 4 but people still keep trying it
Also at the end of the Season 4 Part two trailer, literally the final shot is her holding her hand out and screaming for the hundredth time
Oh no, the person with powers used her powers! What terrible writing!
Her power is telekinesis, not the power to scream very loud, the other subjects can use their powers without screaming like a turkey on Thanksgiving
Her power is influenced by emotion. The screaming isn't the cause it's a side effect.
would you not scream under the strain of trying to disintegrate an eldritch psychic dude for the second time
Imagine being bothered by this lol
Just want to give the poor girl a cough drop
El has only done that twice. She barely just sticks her hands out and screams in general
Henry/One/Vecna redemption arc.
Gus fring opens a new Los Pollos Hermanos location in Hawkins
Word of a drug kingpin starts spreading around Hawkins, but little does anyone know their true identity, Ted Wheeler. Going through Mike's stuff he finds out about the Upside-Down, finds a gate at one of Vecna's killing spots and goes in, taking full advantage of the alternate universe to become the season's surprise villain... Methna.
Max wakes up and forgets everything... Most importantly, she remembers nothing about Lucas and starts to have feelings for Mike!!
you had me in the first half
oh hell no
Don’t you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!
If Byler ends up being canon I want a front row seat and a gallon of popcorn
Yo same Canon byler would not only break this sub, it will break the entire internet. It would be kind of an iconic move ngl
Agreed, the online arguments would be crazy
They already are borderline crazy.
I personally prefer Mike and Eleven and Nancy either single, with Steve or maybe Robin (I know it’s unlikely, but I just really want Robin to have a canon and confirmed relationship, let Robin kiss a woman in season 5)
I don’t think it will, but the schadenfreude I’d experience coming on this sub after s5 aired would be unparalleled.
I want it to happen if only for the chaos, the homophobic fans would lose their minds 🤣
I am not a Mike/Will fan but id be okay with it knowing all the homophobes of the u.s. would have a nuclear meltdown over it Kind of like "Dumbledore is gay" on steroids
Yes, this is what I’m saying, thank you.
[удалено]
Boy are you in for a surprise lol
I’d fucking LIVE for it
It’s funny because you can mean Mike and Will or Nancy and Johnathan, and you’d be right either way
whats byler
Mike x Will
I think what would cause a huge uproar is Ted getting out of his chair and fighting a demogoron/dog/bat to save his family! 🥴
It'd be badass as hell though. Everyone cornered in, like, Mikes basement or something, and who saves the day by throwing a cast-iron frying pan into a demogorgons face? Old Armchair Dad himself.
Or… It turns out Ted was jacked all along and has the upper body strength to THROW the chair at the oncoming demogorgon
Agreed!
I think everyone would love that and would cheer out loud.
Can you imagine!? Lol 😂
I would cheer.
This would be the best possible ending.
The writers bring Eddie back to life then kill him off again
"Eddie you're back! You look like you have something to say; do you? "Yes, I do Dustin. I HAVE TO GO NOW, MY PLANET NEEDS ME. \- Eddie Munson died on his way to his home planet. -
If they split season 5 into two volumes they way they did season 4, and Eddie's actually back to life somehow in volume 1, then a month passes until the release of volume 2 and THAT'S where they kill him again, I'll be legitimately terrified of the consequences it'll have on all those hardcore Eddie fans 👀
i would pay to see that ngl
That's just mean.
If Eddie came back
ELEVEN DOING A TIKTOK DANCE LOL
Max dying, Steve dying, Will and Mike making out, Eddie or Alexi being revived, Vecna winning, a dream ending, Freddy Krueger showing up in Vecna's mind and absolutely destroying him, before proceeding to kill the main characters in their sleep, it turning out the Demogorgon from back in Season 1 both survived and was the actual one in control all along
i don't think they kept max to kill her in season 5 lol
Byler or stancy happening, also pretty much any main character dying i think people would have very strong opinions about ** edit: accidentally put jancy instead of stancy **
Single Nancy is definitely the preferred option in this sub, but jancy isn't that unpopular, I doubt it would cause uproar.
oops i meant to say stancy!
I don't see Jancy causing an chaos to be honest. I think Nancy could end up with either or by herself and people here would mostly be ok.
I would say that Nancy ending the series in an RV with 6 kids wouldn't be well received, based on what I read in the past couple of months.
True. There is also How I Met Your Mother that completely undid couples to get an end game that literally no one wanted.
Yeah i didn't mean jancy! I meant to put stancy
You guys have already broken this sub.
if they don't read max's letters

dark-
i like this
Steve dying maybe?
Oh shit, I think that would probably top Eddie's death in regards to the reaction to it.
There is no probably. Even for the people who are okay with a big death and have accepted it, that one will still evoke a strong emotional response. The sub would be at a frenzy.
Eddie coming back as a vampire
If max just straight up died within the first episode
Well since it seems like 40% of this fanbase only cares about relationships & not the actual show itself, the thing that comes to my mind would be if Will & Mike kiss & or ended up together that would cause a lot of commotion in this chat
Definitely Byler or someone coming back to life.
Whats byler?
Will (By)ers and Mike Whel(ler)
El and Max celebrating their victory by Twerking on Vecna's corpse, this is purely based on what's going on in the MCU subs lol
she-hulk.
Jason comes back saves the day. Becomes president of the United States of america Edit: misread the title as the best ending for Stanger things.:( . /s
Oh God. I'd say happy cake day but I hope you don't even eat any cake--you're that terrible. AND I LOVE IT
Jason Is Kas.
Brilliant, but what happens with Will throughout the season
He finds a listening ear in Vecna, who is really very quite sensitive and does not enjoy being named after a 13-year-old's idea of who he is according to Dungeons and Dragons. Will and Henry Bond over how they have been put into boxes by other people their entire lives, one of them metaphorically and one of them physically, and the two of them have a deep forbidden love that no one understands. They run away to the upside down together where Will is his dark queen.
Byler being canon ( I can’t fathom it) Dustin dying Steve dying Karen being 001s brother Max waking up with no memories The series ending with “ well we’ve seen stranger things”
Fans have became so used to worrying about certain characters dying would they be upset if no one dies? By season 5, the main characters have made it this far, it would be kind of deflating to start killing them off.
Steve dieing next season
Dustin or Lucas dying.
If 8 returned. I personally think it should definitely happen, but people will freak out about it.
008 returning
Mike actually returns Will's feelings
Thanks for clarification. That's why I said "allegedly".
I've seen some speculation that both El and Will will die closing the gate and that kinda lines up with everyone being upset.
Barb becomes Kas.
But what if Barb becomes Kass from Breath of the Wild? Her ghost stands around and sings of legend, giving the main characters important information about the upside down.
Steve dying. NO. NO GOD. PLEASE NO. NOOOOOOO.
Legit my biggest fear for season 5
I Unironically want Byler to be canon just to see homophobic old heads lose their minds. I'll prob get downvoted to oblivion but I honestly see more chemistry in Mike and Will then current season 4 Mike and Eleven. It was cute in Seasons 1-2 but post season 3 argument, it began to feel really forced. But who knows. I'll even take an ending where they all end up with someone completely different
No that’s bad story
A lot of people are against this not because of homophobia or anything but because they've been setting Mike and El since the first season.
Fucking imagine if Will is just like, “No, I’m not gay, it was all just a big misunderstanding!” and then he goes and fucks Eleven. Not saying this is going to happen, it would be awful if it did, but it would be really funny seeing this sub just go to shambles
Will and El ending up together would be top tier disaster.
"it was just a phase"
I was looking for more funny comments that could start riots, but THIS is not what I expected to see.
Dustin and Steve dying
Agree with comments about 08 and the other kids. I think they need to include that storyline though. Sorry. I think they way it was introduced was sloppy, but if you look at it separately it has the potential to be a really important subplot or spinoff. If they handle it better they could tie those kids in to helping Elle and the group succeed. I almost think they have to… Anyway, that’s gonna piss people off but from a writer perspective that makes the most sense to me.
If one of the main characters wake up In bed and realize the whole thing was just a dream. I think I would burn something down, lol
Eddie making any sort of comeback
Not sure if this counts but, having the show air weekly instead of all at once. Many of the shows I’ve been watching on other streaming platforms have started to air weekly, after many years of being able to binge a show this as been quite the surprise. Imagine how crazy this sub would get if there was a whole week between episodes.
If Byler end up being canon part of the fandom would be angry and the other part would be happy. If you wanna leave everyone confused: a Big Fish type of ending: where it's revealed that the whole story is an exaggerated retelling of events that really happened (in-universe of course).
Eddie or billy coming back
1. The whole story is revealed as the fantasy of two brothers trying to create a hit show; or 2.
If any of the og crew is killed off.
How about no one ending up in a forever relationship with their elementary/high school boyfriends/girlfriends because that's usually a pretty bad idea.
imo byler being endgame would result in one of two options: 1. people freaking out over how there's no setup for it bc mike wasn't called any gay slurs beforehand 2. the same reaction the sub had to will being in love with mike, where people find evidence from the earlier seasons and say "omg they've been setting it up the whole time".
Any of the kids dying (even worse: in front of their family. Scene even more heartbreaking than Eddie and Dustin) Wasn’t there a bit in the volume 2 trailer with the parents? I didn’t see that in season 4 so the parents all being brought up to date on the upside down would make my day. None of them know how badass their kids are. Mike and Will. Absolutely. I squeal Eddie coming back but in like a super badass fashion.
THE END.
Will introduces the gang to his girlfriend. ***Stranger Things sub explodes!***
I really do feel atleast 50% are going to die vecnas pissed no way everyone lives through his anger
Ya really think the Duffers are axing half the cast huh? And the others get to live out their days in pain and desperate sadness? Checks out. 🤣
Atleast 50% unrealistic to think there will be more alive than dead imo look at what they are up against, they haven't fought against the full force of the UD, if I'm wrong thats great going to be amazing either way!
The power of love is a mysterious thing. *Nods sagely.* A 50% death rate would be worse than say, for example, GOT, and the Duffers have already clearly stated in post S4 interviews that Hawkins is not Westeros.
