IIRC Noah schnapp joked on a late night show that they told him the bowl cut wasn’t going anywhere for season 5. So either it’s a red herring or he’s safe until then

This I can do. Hopper, Mike and Dustin. I don't see El moving on without Hopper and Mike. Dustin is damn given, he is comic relief and genius rolled into one. A lot of people here are going to make it, so I feel like we are going for 3 survivors, but in reality we are losing 3 good ones.
I won't deny you that. But Mike is El's anchor to Hawkins. Sure, there is Hopper, but I also feel like that's a separate deal, Hop is family. If the Byers are in CA, for all she knows Hopper is dead, then she's living and fighting for Mike, and therefore everyone that she loves because she loved him first. Seems to me like losing Mike would be a Nina abilities/memories loss all over again. It's just too traumatic for her to recover and move forward.
But, I could just as easily talk myself out of this theory by saying losing Mike would give her the boost to back 100× more intense and powerful. But how do you propel that energy through a whole follow up season?
Haha, whoops. I'm like a solo debate over here. But between cycling through the series in the background and, I guess life, this has taken up a lot of my thought space. It's pitiful. But I have digressed... Mike is kind of a thumb. Sort of necessary yet easily overlooked as a tool.
Killing off Mike in the penultimate episode this season would not only make every othrer character seem vulnerable now, but raise the stakes a lot for season 5. I think it'd be an interesting choice. He's also kind of just become El's whiny boyfriend.
Robin definitely became a favorite character of mine. Absolutely love her relationship with Steve.
So yes, these are the three I want to survive the most too.
I really thought that after surviving episode 4 Max is safe because it was very emotional and would've been the perfect send-off to her character, so it really surprised me that people still think that she might die.
This is my answer. I don't think the show is going to kill the kids, Joyce, or Nancy, so I'm not picking them. Of the characters that I do think are on the chopping block, these three are the ones who would sadden me the most.
Also, I like to imagine them moving to a nearby city (Robin and Steve go together and flatshare, Eddie goes by himself to escape Hawkins and starts hanging with them once he's there) and starting a shitty band together after high school. Their preferred styles of music all clash horribly, resulting in a very inconsistent sound.
Dmitri is played by the guy who played one of my favorite characters in Game of Thrones, the faceless assassin Jaqen H'ghar. For that reason I want him to live
Yeah his arc is basically done once he’s cleared or I guess it could continue if convicted. I kinda wish they didn’t kill the cheerleader because they had awesome chemistry. Didn’t they say they filmed the forest scene after she was already killed, and they didn’t realize how well they would click?
Another opportunity for me to wish the trio of Max, Nancy & Hopper into existence.
Imagine those abrasive personalities together. If you like IASIP, Seinfeld, Curb, Arrested Development...this is the team for you!
I just imagine the three of them in a car:
Hopper bellowing.
Nancy belittling.
Max ball-busting.
They're highly competent and capable but also the most "Does Not Play Well With Others" characters out there. Fun escapades amongst friends but also with lots of hilariously spiteful dialogue. With the It's Always Sunny jingle in between scenes.
I kinda hope S5 doesn't do the "seperate teams until they meet until the finale" formula and instead mix it up every few episodes. For this reason and also because it's been very obvious for at least the last couple seasons (can't remember if S1/S2 did it, I definitely feel like S1 had a lot of variety)
To add to this: I absolutely loved Argyle and Murray interacting at dinner “I still have no who he is” 😂😂😂😂

Yes! The fun is taking the WORST possible combinations.
Like Hopper, Argyle and Eddie. Argyle and Eddie must put their obvious musical differences aside because they have to work together....with a cop. And they're both carrying a lot of drugs.
Hopper of course knows they have drugs but he needs their help and he secretly wants some purple palm tree delight, as well.
Hopper definitely doesn’t take me as the type that cares if a teenager has a little bit weed on them. This is the same guy who wakes up and swigs on some beer whilst popping some pills and brushing his teeth.
This could actually be really cool.
Edit: now that I'm thinking about it more, it would be really cool for Steve to become a surprising person for Will to confide in because he's already friends with Robin
Edit 2: also I feel like this could lowkey be a really cool upside down team. Steve is arguably the best physical fighter in the crew, eleven has powers, and will has the connection with the upside down
Yes! Their particular strengths would work well together, plus I think their personalities would all clash just enough to be an interesting dynamic. Pairing Steve with two of the more quiet/weirdo kids rather than outspoken Dustin and Erica would really highlight his character’s growth. And I just want to see members of the larger group interact with people other than the same 3 people they’ve been BFFs with since s1/2/3.
I’ve been wanting a Steve/Will matchup for ages now! Partly because I feel so bad for Will never getting any of the fun plot lines, and want to see him open up (and Steve brings out the best in every character who interacts with him). But it would also bring out Steve’s nurturing side in a way that would be super touching.
Steve, Dustin and Will, I really love Will, I don't know, he's just cute and he's been through a lot and about Steve and Dustin, I'm completely into this friendship, they're the perfect comic relief
Lucas was always my favorite of the OG kids. He didn't have a ton to do in S3 but I've loved his story in S4 and it looks like he'll get more time to shine in Vol. 2. I just want him and Max to be happy :(
The lack of Nancy in this comment section makes me a little sad. She's always been my favorite character, and given how part 1 ended, I'm deeply stressed
Joyce, Jonathan, Will. The squad that will guarantee Joyce will be happy in the end. That's all I wish for, they've had enough trauma.

This is mine, only because I’m very invested in poor little Eleven finding some peace and love in her life before she dies, and this gives her the best chance. She’s the only character that didn’t have a childhood. She deserves something.

They’ve already built up Max’s death too much so she’ll probably live, El is the main character and I feel like the show couldn’t really go on without her
