Yeah, sometimes the whole mercenary thing really gets out of control - Would be nice to have an *option* to turn them off.
Infact, it would be nice to have more options in general when it comes to game mechanics introduced with all the DLC (Like for example Vassals).
And i personally still want the option to force-spawn UNE/COM humans. :p
Tell me about it, the AI loves making those things and then starts crying at my door a day later yelling “OH PLEEEEEASE VASSALIZE ME SENPAI!!! IM TOO WEAK TO SURVIVE ON MY OWN!” I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING MAKING MY STRONGEST FLEET INTO MERCENARIES WITH NO LOYALTY TO ME AND CAN BE EASILY BOUGHT OUT BY MY ENEMIES WAS A BAD IDEA!!!!”
They give so much mobility but it’s a huge pain in the ass to build, even if you have all the resources for mass production of them they still need to be built one by one and it sucks ass to do with more land, I would kill for a way to queue up multiple constructions
It works for any construction ship orders or science ship orders. Also good for military fleet orders if you want them to hit each system along a path instead of just going through the edge. Shift + ctrl click will insert a new order at the front of the queue instead of the end, as well.
I'm surprised I can't find a mod for this. What I've been doing is making sure to vote down the resolution that gives it to everyone in the GC, even if it means I have to console tag switch to the supporters and just switch their votes to not support it.
If the only mercenaries in the galaxy are created by people with civics or ascension perks that give enclave slots, that's not too bad. It's when everyone gets to make 1-2 mercenary enclaves that it becomes a pain in the ass.
It is just boring.
Every war drags out to attrition and exhaustion since as soon as their fleet power drops they can buy a new one and a never get the fleet power positive for their surrender.

Either that or mercenaries need to be way less powerful. Why would i bother making a fleet if i can buy a 200k one for 13k credits for 1 year.
And why would I bother renting a fleet for a high EC upkeep if its “way less powerful“ than what I can build at home?
Or just tune them down.

I disabled the Overlord DLC to get rid of them. And the hyper relays, which just give too damn much mobility.

Shift click does work for queuing building a bunch of them, unless that's what you meant with one by one.
I had no idea shift left click was a thing, I’ll be using the shit out of that now

To be fair, you have to invest quite a lot to get the fleets to 100k
True but ai happily ignores it even with the onvreased upkeeo.
