T O P
BeneGesserit-Dayna

How is anyone meant to be invested in their matches when it’s a foregone conclusion that Reigns is going to come out on top, regardless of who he’s facing. Longest title run? Yeah, for sure, but also the most boring and overrated of all time

MrCoolBeansAEW

We have made a review of Survivor Series if anyone would like to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgi7VvNC75w&t=7s

Conradical27

They really sold this man Theory's titantron space to Beyblade and then gave him the US title

just_jm

Probably gave Theory a cut on the ad revenue, because the Beyblade logo is literally in the titantron haha

MrTiddler

My fantasy booking: the bloodline turn on Sami sometime before the Rumble, against all odds he wins the rumble and challenges Roman, Cody then wins elimination chamber and also challenges Roman therefore un-unifying the titles. Sami wins on night 1 and then Cody wins on night 2. Romans rule comes to an end and the baby faces prevail

Scary-Ant-3796

Can Roman get Sami a grill and some Jordans?

FracturedZero

Let’s wait for Cody to come back before anointing Sami the one to dethrone Roman. Because Cody waging a one man war against the Bloodline to win something his father was never able to could make for a very compelling story in itself.

Kylkek

I just don't think Sami would make a compelling enough champion for it to worth having him be the guy to take down Roman.

ambulenciaga

Fuck Cody. The bloodline story line should be the important play out here without Cody It's become better than it ever would have been if Cody was in the story

FTR_Hair

I agree, Cody’s bloodline story is very important

ambulenciaga

No it isn't

FTR_Hair

Yes. It is. Doesn’t matter what you think. It’s obvious.

ambulenciaga

No it doesn't matter. It's life You get injured, you leave the storyline. The storyline progresses In to something it would never be with Cody being there. To add him back now would just make the storyline nonsensical. Especially as what we are being given is miles more entertaining than the fued we thought we would get I'm not saying don't go full circle and end up back with Cody in the mix. Just get this story done first because it's special.

tawn_ey

I though Jey was taking Sami to Suplex City for a second there. Whew, thankful it ended in a man hug. My tender heart wouldn’t have been able to take it…

BeaconXDR

On Second thoughts, I would have had Helluva Kick into Jey Splash and have Sami pin KO.

Yensikk

Not a single thing that has happened tonight has even hinted at the possibility of Sami and KO teaming up against the USO’s. I don’t understand where most of y’all get these ideas

Kylkek

They talked backstage one time before Clash at the Castle and fans ran while with expectations that were never promised.

CM12PUNK

Good, so when they do turn on Sami, you will really be surprised now

starboy9527

Lol it literally hinted the opposite

sdrj77

Let Roman get to 1000 days as champ, then you can blow it up, Hunter. (But you don't have to.)

boltsbearsjosh

A lot of y’all are missing the point. Sami isn’t going to be the one that dethrones Roman. Just stop, y’all are setting yourself up for disappointment. KO and Sami will end up teaming up to be the ones to dethrone the Uso’s. That’s the right call; that’s where the story is focused. There is no other tag team that is worthy of it either. The Uso’s gotta lose to somebody y’all, there’s no way Roman loses while the Uso’s still hold the tag belts.

Scary-Ant-3796

The real sign of what is coming is the Usos losing.

smokedspirit

night one of mania surely has to end with ko + sami vs the uso's

jediyam

How badly will the crowd boo Cody if he throws out Sami to win the Royal Rumble?

boltsbearsjosh

Vince would have done that, but I think HHH has enough IWC IQ to not do that

CheeseMints

Great PPV. My only real complaint with the Wargame matches is how long wrestlers stay dead for no reason when it's time for other wrestlers to do their spots, then they suddenly get revived. Ridge and Butch all night are prime examples of this, as well as the whole Brawling Bruties team near the end of the match. They could have easily had one of the Bloodline members give each guy a whack with a chair or piece of table to explain it away.

Scary-Ant-3796

I agree heavily with your last point, it feels like the bloodline needed to give them one last mugging and then transition.

ApricotOk824

Give me one more year of the bloodline, break it around SummerSlam

h-town_info

Sami needs to be the one to dethrone Roman, not Cody

boltsbearsjosh

Nah. Sami and KO are taking the belts off of the Uso’s, that’s what’s happening.

ZealousidealScheme85

The bloodline is hot rn if I’m going to mania with having this running at least to sunmerslam I’m thinking you out the US title on Sami and the IC title on solo and give ‘em the money shit like evolution had

ValorWakes

Sorry but not the IC title, mark my words they are slowly building GUNTHER to be the guy who breaks the Honky Tonk man’s record. The bloodline should have to go to war for that title if they have to put all the straps on this stable.

JJtheMark

KO & Sami vs the Usos is gonna steal the show at WrestleMania. You heard it here first!

Psych-roxx

Roman's look near the end from Kevin laying down back to Sami...this ain't over in his head.

JamesCDiamond

Agreed. That was a "He did this to his best friend? I don't trust him..." look.

Bi_Gone_Jhin

Damn I’ve been convinced that the endgame is either Sami winning the titles off Roman, or Sami and KO winning the tag titles. But with the Bloodline winning despite the “friendly fire,” and with Jey finally embracing Sami, I’m not sure anymore how we get from Point A to Point B now

moseswolfwood

If Sami doesn't end up going over Roman we riot

GarmyGarms

There is no way this ends with Owens and Zayn, it has grown so far beyond that. Sami is main event material right now.

boltsbearsjosh

If you don’t think Sami and KO being the ones to dethrone the Uso’s isn’t main event level, then you need to stop watching.

GarmyGarms

I need to stop watching because I don't think the tag titles are main event titles? Im not saying they aren't important, but this is very much a personal journey for Sami. He's one of the most over people in the company and the story is centered completely within the bloodline. KO being added wouldn't make sense, this is about so much more than that and would water down the essence of the story.

boltsbearsjosh

You’re wrong, but I’m sure I won’t be able to convince you of that so, carry on.

GarmyGarms

maybe I just have a different opinion to you? I feel like you haven't really explained yours so I don't know how I'm going to understand that you're right

EliasYoungerBrother

No you're wrong, Sami needs to dethrone Roman

immasucker4you

The pay off has to be Sami dethroning Roman now

smokedspirit

na the pay off is the uso's losing to ko and sami. though if they keep going i can believe sami vs romans more

EliasYoungerBrother

Nah they pay off is Roman dropping the titles to Sami

Scary-Ant-3796

That is not happening, I don't see it.

EliasYoungerBrother

It should happen

Scary-Ant-3796

I agree, but I don't think they will.

SkaXc0re77

Sami over Roman is the only way now! Please o please o please o please

T_Wrexks

This storyline reminds me so much of Undisputed Era. Not from a storyline parallels perspective but just the enjoyment I'm getting watching them.

ApricotOk824

Rikishi: I did it for the Rock Sami: I did it for Roman

I_Hate_My_Cat_

What a fuckin night! Both War Games matches delivered on completely different levels. The women’s War Games went balls to the walls from damn near start to finish and the men’s War Games was a masterpiece in storytelling. What a long strange trip we’re on ladies and gentlemen, let’s revel in it! I fucking love pro wrestling!

Synth3r

If you’d have told me a year ago that I’d not only be actively looking forward to WWE storylines but actively enjoying them more than AEW I’d have called you insane.

I_Hate_My_Cat_

I’m fuckin pumped dude. In this moment in time it truly feels like *everybody* is firing on all cylinders right now. Let’s just enjoy it! One love ✌🏽 (or too sweet since we’re all wrestling fans here lol 🤘🏽)

wizsoxx

☝️

InigoMarz

I wanted Team Brutes to win but holy crap top notch storytelling!

MrTiddler

Chances of Sami being the one to dethrone Roman? I still think it could be Cody but if and when the bloodline turn on Sami he will be the most over baby face in wrestling

The_dork_knight29

Or do two matches like when Angle held the IC and European championship. Paint Roman as so cocky he challenges both against the wishes of Heyman.

AP10

Sami makes the most sense from a storyline perspective. Will finally be his crowning moment after years of being overlooked and the underdog who couldn't quite break through. Now he's doing career best work and it makes storyline sense.

Polanker

Hopefully Sami is the one to dethrone Roman. This has been a very long and good storyline so far and I can see Sami getting Daniel Bryan styles of support for a world title win. Cody isn't nearly as over right now and won't be once The Bloodline turns on Sami.

AML2003

I still think the way they're doing it they'll probably have KO and Sami dethrone the Usos. I think what you could do is potentially have Roman lose the belt at mania, and have the bloodline slowly fall apart without his leadership.

Synth3r

I think Cody is the favourite, but I think the only reason why it won’t be Sami is because it would be difficult for WWE to have their top champion not wanting to do Saudi shows.

largestonedoors

Sami is prohibited by the Saudi government from doing those shows

josephus1811

Kevin deserved that anyway. The guy is a fucken horrible manipulative friend. The Bloodline have been better to Sami than KO ever was.

Savagevandal85

lol yes I wanted certified uce to tell Roman that KO literally betrays every one who

NormalDoesntExist

Lol right. When I see those two together all I think about is when Sami won the NXT title and Owens came out celebrated with him then beat the shit out of him. I'm pretty sure their feud on the main roster started pretty similar too.

hamspop

This has to be the greatest long form WWE storyline in history right?

Lame_Games

If not it's extremely close.

gibbojab

This storyline is not for me. It is quite stale. Separate the titles so I can just stick to Raw.

Jnyflrs

You should try to come around and appreciate it because this era will truly go down as one of the best moments to be a wrestling fan in its history.

PmMeyourface_

What don't you like about it?

gibbojab

It is completely one sided; the dude hasn’t been pinned in over a year and I am supposed to believe the next person will be the one to make a difference? I honestly don’t even care anymore who finally beats him. I came back since Vince left and thought things would be different but it’s not.

lobstermagnet

Not OP, but perhaps the fact that Roman hasn't had a clean title defense/win for nearly his entire title run.

CM12PUNK

He has definitely won clean multiple times this run

ImmortalBehemoth

Shouldn't we be sad about Sami betraying KO? I am lol. But amazing storytelling. So glad it wasn't just ROFLROMANWIN

DatingAdviceGiver101

He didn't really betray Owens. In kayfabe, he's been with the Bloodline through and through at this point in the story.

ImmortalBehemoth

I know, just kinda historically. Even though they've always fought, they are besties lol

[deleted]

I am, but I'm hoping to turns to them rejoining to take down Bloodline.

Realistic_Rip_148

It makes me laugh that the entire story was about Sami and was established yesterday and today

redskinsguy

goddamn it. I just want to see the Bloodline lose And this is nonsense. Okay? Sami and KO are friends? I've seen them spend time as enemies than as friends. This doesn't impress me. I mean this bit isn't even any long term part of this storyline. Up till a few weeks ago this was not about how loyal to the Bloodline Sami was, the obvious issue was how loyal to Sami the Bloodline was

dchehmann

Bloodline Cinematic Universe Phase 4 has Jey having Sami's back against Bloodline, shits gonna be wild.

Kingpk1982

Man, they showed two ways to book an effective War Games match in one card. We had both the car-crash match and the slow-burn. Bless Papa H.

Whats_Up4444

Oh yeah you're right. There was almost no cage/double ring booking in the men's match. Thats honestly pretty cool. The women had all the high-flying cool fun idea crazy shit going down. The men's match just had a slow, beat down, numbers game.

NXTMAN

This is why professional wrestling is the best form of storytelling in the world

LettuceFew5248

100%. Everyone knows it's fake, but acts like it's real. It's so utterly unique.

therustlinbidness

The moment Sami held the refs arm on the 3 count was awesome. I love that Roman is being shown as more fragile as time goes on, from Drew nearly beating him before intervention by Solo to Kevin having his number here to be stopped by Sami. Really helps the crowd believe that a lot of the top guys could beat Roman given the chance.

thurrmanmerman

Great premium live event. Sami is the goat. This storyline is so good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Arbs916

Is Roman winning seriously what you took from that??

ApricotOk824

Story telling > flips and flops I've honestly forgotten 5 star matches with flips and spots without a story but damn, even a match that's 3 stars with great story is always in the back of your mind.

Polanker

The only logical end to this major storyline has to be Sami winning the world title(s) from Roman. Hopefully WWE don't fuck this up.

Spiritual_Litigator

That lingering logo stressed me out a bit.

[deleted]

This storytelling is genius

berniebadger84

WWE has been putting on an absolute master class of both emotional, as well as conflicted face/heel work, storytelling with the Bloodline. It's going to go down in history as one of the more complex storylines that still makes sense, as well as one of the best in recent memory.

A_Hot_Panini

And to think it all started with Jey Uso as one of the key players.... Fucking Nuts!

AP10

☝️

DatingAdviceGiver101

Great show. Also the first two war games matches I've ever seen. Real fun stipulation. Only question I have is why the team with the last person entering the match is seen having the disadvantage? I would think from a kayfabe sense that having the most fresh wrestler would be the advantage, kind of like being #30 in the Rumble.

Kylkek

Because they might be coming in fresh, but their buddies have been outnumbered the whole time and have presumably been getting their asses kicked, which also means the other team is less beat up.

AML2003

Because most of the time the other team will have the extra man allowing them to dish out more damage. Also having one freshman isn't gonna have much effect because of how much of a cluster fuck these matches are imo.

rcc12697

Most of the time one team has one more than the other team until it’s 5 v 5

SanTheMightiest

I'm no WWE fan, but Owens, Zayn and Reigns and Bloodline are telling a fantastic story, and what a great storyline. Zayn simply has to come out of this as super babyface as we all expected since his NXT/ROH days

Mercedesvarnaito

I think we can all agree the Wargames experiment didn’t fully work, but we definitely got some great moments of storytelling and some cool enough big spots. I love the trial and error, it’s very exciting.

rcc12697

… yeah no none of us agree with that first statement lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mercedesvarnaito

No thank you.

EL-YEO

I was prepared to cry, but I’m glad it’s tears of joy seeing Sami being accepted by Jey

[deleted]

I wonder how they're going to eventually turn Sami and we get KO/Sami vs The Usos at Mania? I did not see this ending coming.

DatingAdviceGiver101

It seemed too obvious for the turn to happen tonight, so I didn't expect it to happen. Also, I think they want the Usos vs Zayn/Owens match to happen at WrestleMania, so it's too soon for the turn to happen from a time perspective.

smokedspirit

that catch by sami of kevin and then tossing him on the floor for Jey

BAJA1995

So no betrayals in either wargames matches I'm surprised.. Also forgot about the LA Knight bit on Smackdown cause I thought we were supposed to have Bray v Knight ..

shanjordinspecial

At least that War Games wasn't a botch fest like the first one

Spider-Kaine

2 years ago who would have predicted the best part of the Roman title run would be Sami Zayn!?

9FBI9

Yeah I wasn't the biggest fan of Roman's reign for a good amount of it but right now it is pretty awesome with the Bloodline and especially Sammy.

FrozenPoopPopsicles

Oooh I thought Sami might let the refs hand go after a second there.

blackoutbiz

THAT'S STORYTELLING

MileZeroC

Bravo HHH

HAHAYESVERYFUNNYNAME

I really don’t know what’s gonna happen now this is great

QlubSoda

Hell yeah, it’s going to hurt what happens next

DubyaCyaDubyaUce

This is wrestling!!!

Irezumi10

Man, this bloodline/Sami storyline that’s been going on for months is the greatest thing in a while. Every smackdown and PLE they deliver. It’s insane how Sami being involved with the bloodline was only supposed to last a couple of weeks.

JoshFreemansFro

really good show; glad I watched it

CheeseheadDave

Give Sami the Emmy.

nicofdarcyshire

Isn't that what Vince wanted for years..? Mainstream recognition for storytelling... and now he's gone, the story has developed into this.

RawScallop

So...did they kill Kevin Owens somehow at the end there or what lol All the good guys seriously took dirt naps

Viciouscauliflower21

I mean to be fair, Sami would have to stick it to ko a few more times before they're even close to even

EdtotheWord

So damn true. KO got betrayed there, but man, that doesn't even come close to the times KO has betrayed Sammy

8each8oys

That seemed very scripted

Jackson_Castle

Shut up

FrankieDs

What amazing story telling

YoRHaL-9000

Waffle House will not survive this

sdrj77

The Bloodline is gonna order everything on the menu twice.

QlubSoda

I’m sure they called a few days ahead 🤣

thedrizzle126

The last 10 minutes of that match was some of the best gimmick match storytelling, up there with the great HIAC matches.

prazulsaltaret

I think it needed some insane spots, it felt pretty tame for a 10 man match/war games

thedrizzle126

It was tame because of the storytelling. I'm guessing that was the point.

prazulsaltaret

Yeah but you can have both. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the storytelling Roman/Bloodline has been doing the last 2 years but I feel like Roman's gotten a little lazy in the ring. His matches don't really have crazy spots anymore.

thedrizzle126

It's just not his style anymore. I'm loving this subtle gaslighting Tribal Chief.

prazulsaltaret

That's a pity, though. I miss face Roman's wrestling, he had some insane matches.

thedrizzle126

He's lifting up everyone around him instead of being shoved down everyone's throat. This is a legendary run, I'm so glad I started paying more attention to WWE

kuxiii

Sami standing in the middle. Sami's the best thing in wrestling right now.

StapleGunTom

The bloodline storyline may be the best since I was much younger. That kept me captivated the whole time. Been awhile since I felt that way. Really good.

JustinUprising

Got real scared when that end show logo just stayed there

Jaccount

I think throwing up the logo before doing the Bray thing has people antsy about it now.

JustinUprising

Nah, NXT. Couldn't trust that logo at all. Ciampa turned on Gargano in Chicago when that end show logo flashes

GrandAdmiral12345

You're not alone. When Roman step back, I figured he was about to take someone out.

JustinUprising

Got that Ciampa PTSD

Mark_Levins

The women’s match was better in terms of action, but the men’s told a great story.

Jericho19999

Sami and Kevin have definitely had a lot of betrayals but this feels so much different

LukaOwnsTheSunsMay15

time for sami to get some real tribal tattoos

Repulsive_Pair_8551

The final step

RobotVelociraptor

Could this eventually lead to Sami trying to take over the Bloodline?

DonJefeee

Great match and even better storytelling

danteh11

Probably the best end to a WWE match ever. When Sami was lifted up in his hug, I cheered like it was a Game 7 buzzer beater!

AP10

Storyline > Weapons matches. Wasn't that much weapons involved but the story and drama was superb.

WorriedWar6309

IMO Wrestling is much better when it’s telling a story. Watching people fight is fun but it’s so much more engaging when there are stakes involved and you are invested in the characters.

WrestleClaw

Whenever the Bloodline turns on Sami it needs to be bloodier than the Red Wedding

bootysensei

Jesus christ lmao

JohnSmithSensei

Roman with Jey and Sami at his sides with the family finally solid was a great visual.

Unlucky-You-1334

Only gripe with the end - why were the rest of the Brutes dead for that long?

Freedumbdclxvi

Head canon - Solo gave them all a Samoan spike for good measure.

Goatahmad

A perfect storytelling match wow

IniMiney

Perhaps being part of The Rock’s family is indeed a good enough motive for betrayal

bosdanforth

roman’s the face of the company but sami’s the main character. look at an entire war games build and match being built around his character arc!

girlisagun

So the bloodline are baby faces confirmed

White_Mocha

The bloodline are made up of faces and heels. The faction itself is effectively a tweener

ronbrodie

When it actually happens, who is gonna turn on who

yellowpowaranga

That’s what I’m thinking because I’ve seen others theories here.

SergeantSunnshine

Off to buy every piece of bloodline merch I can before the betrayal.

erathegod

I liked that

axb2002

I saw that look Jey and Roman gave Sami just now. YOU CANT FOOL ME ROMAN.

dhun_mohan

roman and solo didn’t do the 👆🏿

White_Mocha

Solo didnt do it at the beginning either. Honestly it looks better this way after a match where sami’s loyalty was in question. Them doing it all before looked like the spires of a castle. Now, it looks like a wall, an impenetrable wall, the beginning of a fortress

tckilla76

I don't think they ever do really

PeeNut420

Solo never does.

prazulsaltaret

Roman's gonna betray the Tribal Chief

DeclaringLeader

Sami has to be the chosen one right? Where else is this going? If it's Cody or The Rock what was all this for?

Crayola_ROX

Theres no way Hunter pulls a Vince. this is the greatest thing this companys done in decades. it eclipses Jericho/KO. they have to see this through. I always believed that since it began with Jey it should end with jey. After tonight though its gotta be Sami. Hes a Daniel Bryan levels of underdog.

ZADAGOAT

Sami isn't beating Roman. It's probably going to be Sami and KO vs the Usos when the bloodline eventually turns on Sami

DeclaringLeader

Yeah but he just turned on Owens

ZADAGOAT

So what? This isn't the first time Ko or Sami turned on each other. Ko gonna forgive him eventually and fight the Usos at wrestlemania

xxthelegacymacxx

Can still be Cody or Rock if u have Sami and KO dethrone the Usos

RiggityRyGuy

Nobody has gotten under Romans skin the way KO and Daniel Bryan did.

OldUncleTBag

One of the best wrestling stories ever. Top 5 at least.

IamcJ

Too fired up lol

TheCVR123YT

Just seeing the carnage of all the bodies laid out is so cool

QlubSoda

Roman just laying on Drew for support 🤣

octobermadness

Trash ass ending. Only good thing I got out of this is all of the acknowledgement he received from the bloodline. Sami Zayn WWE Champion 2023 🔥

Ryvit

Literally dozens of comments talking about how good it was and then this one nerd calls it trash lol

octobermadness

Nah.. Shit was trash.. Boring for majority of the time. Those two teams were just thrown in there at a months notice. No true build up. It was mainly just to structure Sami Zayn and build him up more. I'm fine with the story telling, but performance wise it wasn't good. The NXT brand pulled it off WAY better. 💯

TrustyWhale

Excellent finishing sequence, rest of the brutes team was down for a hell of a long time at the end but end of the day Sami in the Bloodline is the most over act in the company so it made sense to have that be the focus. And it was of course executed perfectly as Sami and KO always do.

olivelima

I wish the women’s war games match was more fluid like the men’s. I didn’t totally hate it but it seemed inconsistent and choppy compared to this

nocturnalfrolic

Impeccable storytelling.

M1keyd99

Jesus my ass clenched that whole time, great fantastic story telling

Malkkum

Okay it’s off air, I can breathe again

seancoutu

I don’t even watch WWE anymore, except the occasional PPV, but the storytelling in that match was fucking Shakespearean.

RandomKyleXY123

That… Was… Incredible… ☝🏾
