Good places to get boba?

Creasian in South Bend.
The tea place in Niles also.
The Asia Market in Elkhart.
that tea place in niles is so cool looking. i’ll have to finally check them out!
and i’ve never been to creasian but good to know!!
It is really neat and the owners are nice too. Niles is getting really cute. A couple of really big and fun antique stores, a nice chocolate shop, an amazingly good bakery (Gabrizzios, not sure how to spell it), and other stuff. So much potential.
i feel like i could bring my out-of-town mom to niles and have a really nice day. it’s so nice to watch local places get cute and develop!!
Gabrizio in Niles is so damn good!
Do you know the address of the tea place? All I'm getting is Apothica Teas when I google it and just want to make sure I'm getting the right place.
That is the correct place! I know it is a steam punk kind of aesthetic. But it's neat.
If you’re willing to drive, there’s this oriental grocery store in Berrien Springs called Mabuhay. Good boba, delicious food and a super friendly owner
i do love a friendly owner!!
What do you suggest from the Ice Bar? I've been really wanting some boba!
ice bar has a lot of good things!!
i love the thai, rose, and matcha milk teas best. if you’re into fruity flavors, the mango yakult is amazing.
as for add-ins, classic tapioca pearls are really good, as is the coffee jelly (do not mix with rose tea 😖), red bean and fruit popper pearls. there’s a lot to mix and match!! the only thing i don’t recommend is the classic milk tea. it’s really bland
Lucky’s in Elkhart
The one on 700 W Bristol Street
Also, I highly recommend the food.
My favorites are the Pad Thai, Fried Rice and the Shrimp Cream Cheese Wontons.
Yummy Pizza is close-ish to the mall and worth a try. I can't speak to the tea but it's asian owned. http://www.yummypizzagranger.com/bubble-tea.html
I swear South Bend is a milk tea desert. There are a couple of places that have things they advertise as boba, but there is something really off about them. Your best bet living here honestly is to drive somewhere else. Closest places will probably be Chicago, Lansing, or Indy.
If you are downvoting me, where are you getting good boba tea that I don't know about? Everything I've had here so far has been kinda shit.
Creasian has pretty good Taiwanese food, but I 100% agree, the boba tea is garbage.
I feel like almost everything food-wise here in South Bend/Mishawaka area is pretty much shit or just decent at best... and the stuff that's decent is ridiculously expensive.
True that. There are a couple of places I Iike, but in general, it's pretty sub-par.
It seems so strange! I feel like its something that would do so well in South Bend, and you just can't really find it!
Yeah, it seems it would do well in any college town. Someone should open a place.
you know, i appreciate your bluntness. it’s a damn shame that i’d have to drive that far to get something decent though
It's the truth though. If you're going to make a drive somewhere, I'd recommend Hello Jasmine in Chicago, The Kung Fu in East Lansing, or there is a chain of shops called Kung Fu tea that appears to be in both West Layette and Indianapolis. All have authentic bubble tea on par with what you can get in China.
Like 10 years or so ago there used to be a really good place on Grape Road. It went out of business after only a year or two though.
I’d suggest Kao’s in Elkhart. They have Thai food but also a big selection of bubble tea and boba! I also love Ice Bar! Kao’s Instagram has so many colorful pics of their bubble tea! Just FYI, Kao’s uses a powder for their bubble tea, I get the pineapple one and it’s amazing but I can taste the powder a little, I don’t know if you are funny about textures. Enjoy!!
I go to Luckys in Elkhart. They have pretty good selections and love their food as well.
Zing in Mishawaka
