Yes. I remember watching a somali movie years ago and at the end of the movie there was this quote that almost made me cry “a tribute to those who have lost their country but not their sense of hope”
well, what he said are all right, today I was watching this video on how Romans used to use Germanic tribes as mercenaries and body guards, coz they had no government central and were just roaming around and barbaric people, but today we can see how those Germanic tribes latter on build what western Society is, anyway you always has your ups and downs but you should always try to stay for the future and fulfill the dreams of many, stop living the present and the past. All those countries you see today had one time leaders who stood for them, build a country that many follows and sustain, so never lost your hope, fight for it and die as martyrdom, or reach your goals of seeing your kid living a beautiful country that your grands were too stupid to build on. Again, know that, 2 things revolve, power and economics, no group of people will forever be the ones to migrate to, or the ones with the leading of the world.
Ypu know what somalia is very easy to fix it needs investments. Now the agriculture industry has a potential to feed 40 mill people over 50 m livestock and 1.8 million tonnes of fish annually. What it needs is money.
The highest renewable energy potential in mainland africa
Natural resources that make other nations blush
we’re literally sitting on 200 trillion barrels of oil along with tons of minerals. we have everything we need here. It’s the somalis that are the issue, the qaabiils, decentralized political structures & foreign intervention. Only way we can tap into that is if we all come together and actually genuinely love this country.
Nah right now there is 4 mill diaspora if we put 50 dollars a month into a foundation we could pay for water treatment facilities desalination plants agriculture fishing national grid in a few yrs
We as diadpora complain but dont do shit we became incompetant
Diasporas do so much, they send 1 billion annually as we as provide hospitals, schools, diaspora have filled in things that the government can’t even be bothered, the diaspora is Somalia’s safety net, the ones who lack are actually the ones that stayed in Somalia sucking dry of their relatives in qurbojoog
its a waste 8.9 million hecatres we use about 663 000 hecatres lack of technology and investment. with fishing livestock and agriculture we would be a net exporter
Yeah but it’s gonna take time obviously. Remove this clan state federation bull-shit where we have 7 president in a single country to appease clan egos even when their clan state president is serving a foreign country’s interests, go back to 18 regions/18 governors. 3 MPs per district anyone can represent their deegan, no 4.5 for the parliament and no 4.5 for the cabinet either. Can you believe we appoint ministers because they come from a certain clan? How can we be productive if we’re appointing some nacaas because he’s “landheere”. The PM has to be Darood if the President is Hawiye and vice versa that’s beyond stupid.
Finish the constitution, strengthen government institutions, continue to build up the SNA and Navy, take out loans for more advanced weaponry, tanks and warships once our arms embargo is lifted. Decrease Al Shabaab’s influence in the South by creating more jobs to incentivize young broke men to not join them and be the footsoldiers of this Shaytaan group, be more inclusive to minority clans and protect them so they aren’t incentivized to side with Al Shabaab. If Al Shabaab is weakened we can actually take advantage of our resources in the South and tax the South properly and preform 1m1v elections for the first time since the pre-Siad Barre era. All of this stuff is do-able but it won’t happen over night and won’t happen if our leaders are dacaad. The average Somali can’t keep on supporting mediocre leaders who put themselves before their country simply because he’s your adeer. Otherwise enjoy another generation of going to foreign countries for basic health-care, waiting on remittances from your relatives to get by and driving on shitty roads. It’s really up to them.
I feel like the powers that be don't want a stable Somalia. We're in a very strategic part of the world and the moment we gain a semblance of stability is when the vultures will begin circling again.
Hopelessness is tied to something being unprecedented. One of necessary aspects of colonialism was for countries to sever links with their history. Read up our history and you find hope.
I agree but then again we have to be the change we want otherwise we will simply be complaining about more of the same until we die and that gets nothing dome but create more inactive doomers which just compounds the problems.
So one cannot show love and worry for their homeland without speaking the language fluently? How is it the diasporas fault that they were born abroad? I think you have your priorities messed up, it’s great that the diaspora still worry about their motherland.
Being able to speak the language isn’t a prerequisite to helping your people. Not sure what kind of bird brain logic led you to write this garbage. We need all patriotic Somalis to pitch in to improve our situation, beggars can’t be choosers.
> Not sure what kind of bird brain logic led you to write this garbage.
You spent 30K+ to study business something you could have learnt for free from experience. Let that sink in.
>We need all patriotic Somalis to pitch in to improve our situation, beggars can’t be choosers.
A patriotic Somali would ask how he can help, not if the country will improve. Giving money blindly, only to end up in someone's pockets, is not going to help. The country needs structure and honest leaders who want to improve the country.
Free experience doesn’t get you into one of the top consulting firms in the world lol, people who talk out of their ass always end up looking dumb. I can’t stand arrogant Somalis who like to mock our brothers and sisters who don’t speak fluently. You’re displaying one of our worst cultural traits, being overly critical and unhelpful at the same time.
But many of those somalis that cannot speak somali can pick it up very easily once they go back to Somalia. It literally takes a few months for their somali to improve.
Secondly many diasporia bring education and knowledge. Something that these war ridden somalis back home desperately need.
Education???🤣🤣🤣how can a kid study primary, secondary and university in English but can't speak any English??? i saw a computer engineer kid who can't code, let us be serious, Somalia Education is shit, like you can't tell me otherwise, the quality is the lowest around the world and you can't say no. I have been to somalia alot of times. The reality is, all those uni who were opened like corner stores, majority of them are scammers.
Of course there is. Our nation is very young and has a lot of untapped potential. It's up to the next generation of youth to push for unity and democracy so that we may prosper. Once we hopefully get rid of this AS disease and focus on economic success more people will care less about qabil and think of the bigger picture. The thing I hope Somalia achieves most is independence from foreigners meddling in our affairs.
Yes. I remember watching a somali movie years ago and at the end of the movie there was this quote that almost made me cry “a tribute to those who have lost their country but not their sense of hope”
Yes like any civilization... They have their ups and downs some long some short
But the world is moving forward, sooner or later somebody might try and tsk our land.

Somalis in Somalia have done nothing by kill each other In the last 32 years. Diaspora can't do anything if the Somalis back home won't do anything.
It needs capital and a diaspora which will do that
Too bad all that fish is currently being looted by China.
really?

Forget about agriculture we have enough livestock to feed us all
its a waste 8.9 million hecatres we use about 663 000 hecatres lack of technology and investment. with fishing livestock and agriculture we would be a net exporter
A greater state of Somalia shall be established. Somalia shall thrive and somalis shall prosper. Insha Allah
Yes! I totally believe it has great future. Its geographical location, natural resources and human capital.

Somalia has infinite potential
I will never lose hope no matter what 🇸🇴
The real answer is no. There is no hope and sooner or later we will loose our land like the Native Americans.
Yes stop being a doomer
Reality is often disappointing
I agree but then again we have to be the change we want otherwise we will simply be complaining about more of the same until we die and that gets nothing dome but create more inactive doomers which just compounds the problems.
Same post every week. Diaspora worried about Somalia, but they can't speak the language. You got your priorities messed up.

They already have educational institutions. The real problem is the govement
Education???🤣🤣🤣how can a kid study primary, secondary and university in English but can't speak any English??? i saw a computer engineer kid who can't code, let us be serious, Somalia Education is shit, like you can't tell me otherwise, the quality is the lowest around the world and you can't say no. > computer engineer kid who can't code That is literally every computer student graduate around the world except for top university.
I study, and i literally learn how to code in C#, python and java scripts
Well the diaspora can stay in Somalia for 6 months and they will get the language, Somali is not even that hard to speak
