I know 1 Somali that's childfree.
My personal opinion: I don't think children are the be all and end all of life. If you're not able to, or for whatever reason haven't had children, I firmly believe you can have a satisfying and fulfilling life.
Still, I'm extremely wary of the /r/childfree type of people. Even though I'm not the type of person who wants 36 kids and is eager to become a father. If I never have kids, alhamdulillah I would still be content. It wouldn't affect my choices in marriage either (I.e. marrying someone infertile). But not wanting kids for the sake of not wanting them, whether due to free time, effort etc. is a huge red flag and a hard pass. Something about it strikes me as inherently childish, it's like refusing to grow up.
Many child free individuals would argue that they are child free because they care about the unborn child/children. This would make them unchildlike because children, especially really young children, haven't developed the capacity to think about how their actions impact on others.

Maybe that's OP right there
Childfree is not Islamic.
>Something about it strikes me as inherently childish, it's like refusing to grow up.
Probably, it is harder in the West because of the mindset.
So you think it's a red flag if that person just doesn't to have kids. That's a pretty biased opinion. Go read r/childfree and see what decisions people made. Some are ethical in that they don't want to bring more kids with limited resources for humans in this world.
Their are sheikhs, doctors, athletes, astronauts, presidents, etc. that don't have children (Merkel and Macron for instance).
Many other decisions. Go read. For example:

Covid taught a lot of Gallo people that having Children to look after you is something a lot of people wish they had when they were on those ventillators.
im talking about the older ones that come go home and have no one to look after them. i was watching a Kevin Samuels video of these chick that said she wanted kids because her Aunt didnt have nobody to look out for her besides her sister.
Yes, more and more in the diaspora. Just like other cultures.
No, you don't always need children to "secure their pension" or to "look after them". We have evolved to have services and such at an old age. And you drain a lot of money taking care of your children. So if one prefers to not have kids, that's your decision and I and educated Somalis respect that person's decision.
Thank you wallal your decision to go childfree is the ethical one. There are way too many people on this overheating planet, and way too many children without foster homes or adoptive parents. The old nomadic idea of "have as many kids as you possibly can, no one knows how many will survive the next dry season" is outdated.

very good point about it being childish and refusing to grow up. people into their 20's and 30's nowadays behave very childish.

Who?
Are you Muslim ? Childfree is not Islamic.
This sub is full of murtads
It shouldn’t be, no other faith or theology will be accepted in Somalia.
100% agree.
The downvotes we are receiving is telling
Yep, few downvotes wont change what 99% of the population thinks tho😂
There are also a lot of non somalis in this sub.
Shut up
I dont want kids
That is obviously not the only reason to have kids. But that should be something they willingly do for you if you raise them well

I’d love to be parent but I’d prefer to adopt.
