Or when that rumor even started in the first place? Look no further. An idiot (me) has decided to tell you why, through the art of jokes! Part 1 of this will go into the anti-fluoride movement through the 1900's-1980's, the more recent stuff is exhausting and will be covered in part 2. ⤶⤶Sources: ⤶⤶Donald McNeil, "America's Longest War" 1985⤶⤶CDC "Community Water Fluoridation" https://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/index.html. 2020 ⤶⤶National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research "The Story of Fluoridation" https://www.nidcr.nih.gov/health-info/fluoride/the-story-of-fluoridation. 2018⤶⤶Stephen Barret MD. Well this is just my sort of thing: Educational, entertaining, charming, snarky. In my longer videos I also approach history & current events with a bit of snark, so I liked this right off the bat. Now for the feedback part, some of which I'm sure you can already guess. 1. Sound. This bedevils us all. Audio levels were a little irregular, and it sounded to me like you were talking from inside a concrete box. Which you were, of course, but you might want to play with mic placement, or look into a lav mic. In the absence of better equipment, try to keep the mic as close to you as you can. 2. Music. Some of the music in spots seemed a little loud, so I'd suggest improving your ducking. IMHO, music should be 12 to 18 dB lower than the dialogue. I don't know if your editor supports ducking, but you may be able to adjust the music track by hand. 3. Eyes. Your cue cards seemed to be a little too far from the camera, as it was obvious when your eyes slid over there to sneak a glance. Move them (the cards) closer to the camera and you should be fine. 4. End. The end was sudden. I'd recommend a simple outro. Even something as basic as a wave goodbye or a parting word followed by a fade-to-black should work. In my videos I do a full set of end credits, but that's just me being self-indulgent. This was fun. I genuinely enjoyed it, and am looking forward to part two.

pleasechilldude

Thank you so much!!! The music thing is so helpful I actually screenshot your comment last night. Do you have any tips for script reading? I don’t have a teleprompter and had to read it off of my monitor. I noticed my eyes were shifting a bit and the only YT video I could find on the matter for tips were people saying to use an outline or memorize the whole thing. I probably should have done an end credits thing I was so tired of hearing myself speak I was ready to get it over with. All amazing feedback and seriously thank you so much for watching. !givelambda

For reading scripts, the only thing that has helped me prepare is rehearsal. Not actual memorization (which, yes, works best), but multiple readings aloud that help me get accustomed to the order of my statements. That way, when I've got my laptop screen just below my camera, I can click my little mouse and advance from one cue card to the next without my eyes drifting too far from the camera (not that anyone can really tell; my character wears a mask). For one video I used [cueprompter.com](https://cueprompter.com) (a browser-based autocue/teleprompter) because I was on-screen right down to my knees, and needed something that would automatically scroll at a pace I could read. If you've got a lot to say, you might check into that. I don't know if you do multiple takes, but I would recommend it if you don't. I try to shoot at least three takes of every scene, and so far that's helped me.

wondersbro

For the first video is really ok. Try to use more edit in your videos. Spend some time to make a decent thumbnails, its important.

HappyPantzInc

You thumbnail is really good but the content could use some more editing. You definitely have a lot of facts and history and research which is really good. And you've definitely organized it well and seem to have made yourself some kind of script (I can see you looking over at it). I think what you need to do is not be afraid to make more hard cuts. Don't feel like you have to do an entire section of the script in one go. Take it piece by piece and record it in smaller chunks. The cuts to you being in a different position will help refresh the viewers attention and you may find that it also shortens your video length to do this. You did a really good job of popping up support material periodically so that was great. Only critique there is that I would add some slight motion to whatever still images you put up to keep it interesting. Just a slight pan and zoom would work. As for your intro, I would try and shorten it to under a minute, preferably around 30 seconds. and then also make sure you end by addressing the audience, thanking them for watching and asking for a like/subscription/comment.

pleasechilldude

Thank you so much for watching and the feedback! Great point with the hard cuts and being in different spaces, I have a tiny space to film so moving around was... well there had to be lots of strategy involved haha. But I’ll play around with the set up and my script for part 2! Thanks again for the feedback it’s super helpful. ! Givelamba

HappyPantzInc

You don't need a lot of space to move around. It can be as simple as having your head turned differently or just shift your stance

HappyPantzInc

Oh and also you put a space between the ! And givelambda

pleasechilldude

!givelambda sorry new to all of this

Hey! It's a very similar category to what I'm doing on my channel, I'm really interested in what you'll do next! I think that the video is too long, sometimes you lost me to catch my attention again later on, so a bit more of editing will work wonders for your content. I like the jokes, that keeps people interested on any topic. Keep up the good work!

pleasechilldude

Awesome! Good point about the length haha, got a little too excited with my research. Thanks so much looking forward to watching your videos :) !givelambda

Your channel is very good actually, for a first video starter, you are rocking. I left you a comment and gave you a sub. You deserve that. Keep more conspiracies coming.❤️

What is that?😂

Alternative_Knee

The video was pretty good the only thing was the audio was a bit irregular so the captions weren't accurate so j would suggest adding subtitles at the bottom..

pleasechilldude

Yes definitely in the future! Thanks for the feedback! !givelambda

Heavy_Rain_

Interesting concept for a video! You have a strong presentation style. The audio levels were a little off at times - so that could be something to work on in future.

pleasechilldude

For sure! Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot coming from a channel with super slick editing like yours :) !givelambda

simeonhadev

Good job you need a little bit better camera

pleasechilldude

I was filming at night without a viewfinder 😭 most of the comments seem to mention that though so next video I’ll make it better !givelambda

simeonhadev

Yeah its take time slowly you need good camera and microphone, this camera very expensive but good job.

NoToneTyrone

I think the thumbnail could use some work, for instance, the words could be bigger. People usually see the thumbnail in a much smaller scale than when you are editing, try zooming out the thumbnail when you are editing it, and then make the adjustments as you see fit. Also when you crop images, try to align them in that position, so the crop is hidden, for instance if you placed the layer with your picture in it on the bottom, it would seem like you are actually "in the picture" if you know what I mean. The audio could use a little work, a bit of noise suppression and equalizing can fix that "box" sound without spending a dime on extra equipment. The content itself is interesting and innovative, you obviously did a good research on this and it shows. Otherwise a great video!

pleasechilldude

Thanks so much for watching! Great advice for the thumbnail. I didn’t put nearly as much work into as I should have haha. And yes there is a consensus on the audio, gonna try to fix it all with the next video. Thanks again! !givelambda

Unraveled_YT

Loved your topic, here are my though on how you can improve your videos: * Check you're on focus, you're out of focus most of the video. * Check your lighting, the video is too yellowish/orangish, try to use white light to light your face directly on front, and if you can or want, you can use secondary yellow lights on your sides to bring depth. * There's a little black bar on the left side of your channel's banner. Not related to the video but my OCD attacked, sorry! * Nice detail for including images and footage of what you're explaining, it gives credit to your argument. * You could improve your vertical framing so we see more of you and less of the wall above. * You added music, which is nice, but also there's too much background noise and echo, you could post process it a little to tackle those issues and also try to record with every thing that makes noise turned off. Yes, it sounds like a pain in the ass if you live in a hot place, but believe me, your audio quality will improve. I hope that this helps you! keep it going.

kawaiipoltergeist

The idea of a channel dedicated to learning about the history of Conspiracy theories is very interesting.
