1984’ [Seiko] 6309-7290 slim turtle today . Probably one of the hardest variants to find not modded .

Wow what’s the case size？
41mm . This model was most likely testing grounds for the 7002’s /skx that came out some years later
Seems that way - I have a 7002 from '92 and I can't tell the difference at all.
Pretty sure case is a bit smaller on this 6309 . 7002’s are date only . Also the movements are different

They're the same.
>7002’s are date only
I'm embarrassed I didn't notice! I was too busy comparing the bezel.
> Also the movements are different
Well of course, but looks wise... :-)
I have one too excellent piece
That's a beauty. I'm fascinated with Seiko divers at the moment but it seems like the value is gone. Any 70s/80s Seiko divers are now $400+
Are there any places online where you can get a good deal?
Agreed , honestly I’ve done really well with EBay . As long as you really research the model you want and know what to look out for . If you are just getting into these . I’d suggest maybe a 7002 series . Couple on the bay now that are all original and under 3 bills .
Check out the 6309 I bought in my post history. My first jump into vintage seiko. It's currently in pieces in a drawer at home.
I need to find someone who can put it back together for me but I'm afraid of the cost 😂
How many pieces ? You completely tore it down ?
No, the movent dial and hands are still together. I'd be totally goosed if I went that far 😂 I tried to replace the crystal but chipped it trying to put it back in
You have a crystal press?
Ya that's what I used. Its a bit small though. Bought it cheap off ebay
Where did you manage to get this one?
Good ol eBay . Some years ago
