Hey, Automod here! It's always a good idea to check any above number(s) on [a carrier lookup tool](https://freecarrierlookup.com/) ([click here](https://800forall.com/SearchWhoOwns.aspx) for a toll-free lookup tool) before calling them to avoid calling a legitimate business, residential number, or private cell number. To do this, lookup the phone number on the carrier lookup and look at the results. If the results says that the number belongs to a residential carrier (ex. AT&T/"Cingular Wireless", Verizon Wireless, Metro PCS, Rogers, etc.), *DO NOT* call the number. If the post is still up, please report the post so a mod can remove it to prevent innocent people from receiving these calls.
The above also applies to comments that have numbers too. Thanks!

i always use \*67 on these guys before i dial the number, and when i called them i told them that i found this number on reddit, they told me that i got a lot of time in my hand then they hung up, when i called them back they disconnected the number lmao
It seems you brought up the use of *67. Note that *67 does **NOT** work on toll-free numbers and emergency numbers by design. Certain carriers also block callers that use *67, giving the caller a false sense that the phone number being called is dead. Even for the carriers that accept *67, or "anonymous" calls, parties on the receiving end of such calls have already figured out ways to deanonymize *67 callers (for more info, look at the menu links regarding not using *67). The best way to hide your number from scammers is to download a separate burner phone app such as TextNow or Google Voice. These apps give you a secondary phone number, rendering *67 unnecessary.
