It did not go past $6
GIK and FIII are huge disappointments. A DA didn't move the market at all. As if it doesn't matter :|
BTW this morning LFTRW showed up on Etrade - no volume or stock traded but the symbol is showing which was not there Friday.
The only constant seems to be BFT going moon. In the meantime, SSPK went from $10 to $14.40 to $12 in just a matter of days. Yay volatility!
Here comes the Monday sell off
TDAC and THCB being given the chair this morning
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH $10K to invest?
Looking for a short term play....currently own
APXT 500 @ 10.75
HCAC 500 @ 11.30 (selling this week)
GIK 360 @ 12.25
TDAC 200 @ 12.14
THCB 200 @ 12.30
looking at BFT, GHIV, FIII, CFII????
I would have said DMYD but it looks like it might moon today, so GHIV, VSPR, and CFII are my top choices for closer to nav plays
Thanks...not familiar with VSPR...I'll take a look.
GIK back to the $16s today baby
did it move in after market? I don't see any spikes up during the day
I'm a good guy. What's up with discord change? Wont let me get in with new link on android.
Is there a discord for this subreddit?
Anybody know anything about CCX?
It’s merging with Skillsoft, and will also acquire a small IT company Global Knowledge Training LLC. Merge set for Q1 ‘21. Leadership is Michael Klein, ex CEO of Citigroup.
Question is, why is it trading at NAV with a DA? The market apparently doesn’t like the target, wondering why.
Shit deal. Michael Klein’s second one in recent memory.
It only caught my eye cause it has options. Clearly should stay away though
Maybe because they just went bankrupt in June?
That would do it!
What the fuck is wrong with QELL? If this shit hits $14 on Twitter rumors I’m dumping it lol
Big premarket movements to recover from friday
BFT looking good
Just saw a 'spac gang' post on WSB.....Close up the shop boys, this shits over haha
GIK all in. That’s on facts.
GIK is maybe my favorite play atm. I think the fact that they also do EV charging is going under the radar, and the market seems to love anything related to EV charging - see SBE, BLNK, TPGY
$20 EOD! 🚀🚀🚀
GIK, FIII, GHIV gang checking in
What's you avg price?
Should I take money out of PIC and buy BFT and HCAC more, and then reinvest in PIC later?
HCAC way too expensive right now IMO...
If you think BFT and HCAC will get you a better return than PIC, then you should definitely do it.
If you think PIC is a better pick, then you should stick with it.
Thoughts on PIC falling post merger? I’m looking to exit at 26-30 and I doubt it’d reach that pre merger
Karmalizing: It may be time to hire another mod or two. I can't imagine how rough your job is here, but every 2 months this sub goes apeshit and we are squarely in the feces right now.
Put the u/ in there if you want them to get notified of your comment.
Do you get $10 per share in case a SPAC doesn’t merge after 2 years?
Oh ok. Have you gone through this process?
Oh ok thank you for your help!
Can you go into a dominoes and order?
BFT GIK GHIV are all getting a lot of play on WSB. It's making me optimistic for tomorrow.
I went all in on BFT at 12.90 for 1540 Shares
Man, I just got $1000 at $12.10. Making me regret it :(
Never regret gains
Just FOMO talking. :)
You mean regret not getting more?
Yeah, I meant this. Me type English real good...
**$NGA**: I'm sitting on 1575 commons at $15.75. Should I be worried?
*My minds telling me no, but my body...*
It'll run probably shortly. Other SPACs are hotter right now though.
You guys holding FEAC through merger or selling right before 12/16 merger meeting?
I took my profits on warrants, close to 80% move in two weeks.
But Morgan Stanley bought more shares last week. Since they are a minority owner I’m pretty sure that had to be disclosed right away.
If I buy options on a SPAC through Robinhood with an expiry that happens after a merger, will the option contract automatically convert to the new ticker? I’m a new to Spacs.
What are we doing with psth these gains are pretty ridiculous I’m tempted to sell buy a dip
...what? PSTH has traded sideways for weeks and hasn't done anything notable yet. Did you mean a different ticker?
Should have bought in at NAV
Well it is up about 30% on no announcement.
I don’t think it will drop though. A lot of hype
Yes it's overinflated on no news. But by no means are the gains Ridiculous. You made it sound like it suddenly pumped to 50 or something.
30% for a few months of just keeping the money there is a bit ridiculous if you think about it. AND no news :-)
I’m not the original poster lol. But everyone has different strategies for SPACS. If they get a decent % return they may just move on to the next
Loading up on gik tomorrow expecting $15-16 range soon
To da moon!
Yea, it’ll run up as PIC climbs a bit higher too
BFT finna moon tomorrow 👀
Any opinions on AJAX , AGCU, XPOA, CMLF and HAAC? Can't find much out there, all pre LOI but great management teams.
Forgot that CFII exists and has a def agreement
My guess for tomorrow: red day in SPACland despite a green market.
Anyone up for a friendly wager? Winner gets to pick any SPAC, pre or post announcement, and loser has to buy 50 shares (edit: negotiable before bet) of it to hold for 3 months minimum.
No accounts under 1 yr old. I'll take up to 3 bets.
Edit2: I was right! Thanks for the downvotes anyway.
i would love a red day to snag some of the ones I was able to do some DD on this weekend that NGA and LGVW would love to get both cheaper so hope ur right
Not interested in the wager. But bft is definitely going to be green tomorrow. Not sure about spacs in general, but there’s one that’s guaranteed to be green for what it’s worth.
Just yesterday I was bashing BFT bc of their weak projected revenue growth, but today heard about what Foley has done with past companies. Fk...
Agreed. I am not impressed with PaySafe's financials in the least. It's a fixer-upper turnaround story. Though some sales trader on CNBC has been promoting it so who knows what happens short-term.
Yeah - for sure. Foley is legit. But the run up tomorrow will be because of the CNBC “triple up” comment.
Yeah, I meant that it seems like an actual good post-merger hold but not at whatever price CNBC will rocket it to.
Thinking RMG pops post merger?
I’m a massive bull on RMG from the start (as well as QS - though I’m cutting out the rest of my QS stock tmr) - been in since 10s. I wouldn’t be surprised if RMG runs as hard as QS - and IMO still under the radar in this sub and WSB.
RMG has contracts signed to provide batteries starting 2021 for multiple global companies (albeit one contract to sell batteries is to Nikola but I don’t really care for that, revenue for RMG), strong partnership in a JV with a reputable and global company. Check their inventor slide deck.
Company engineers and leadership are filled ex Tesla, ex Space Ex
Batteries are better than microvast rn. https://m.imgur.com/a/TiAsn3F
^ quantscape is not on that well because, they have nothing until 2024 more or less.
I’m holding stock, warrants, and may 2021 calls, full disclosure. Averaged up at 14.
Their R&D Has been insane, massive plant in USA. They’re the leader for EV lithium Batteries and will be for commercial EVs.
Sure hope so. I sold QS at 45 and it was painful watching it hit 80.
I’m Ron Burgundy?
Thoughts on HYAC? It’s below NAV...... risk free lotto ticket or hot garbage?
Convenience store merger from an unproven team. Hard pass.
Anyone buying CIIC warrants on dips and planning to long hold until it breaks through $10?
However, I will enter either in the New Year or just before. Let the stock and warrants keep on bleeding.
I thought they would be flying with the stock price consistently over 30... SBE warrants are over 11. I may hang on past 10 tbh
Looking for new positions on Monday, can’t decide between GIK, BFT or dmyd
Dmyd is my fav right now, but i have positions in all three
All these will be up in pre market
hey boys, kings back
FUCK YEA KINGGSSS BACKKK
Let's say hypothetically the PSTH target is either Bloomberg or Fidelity. Given what happened with the ABNB and DASH IPOs there's no way this gets done at a lower multiple - the valuation would already be quite rich right away. How much upside can we possibly expect then?
There is 0% chance Fidelity is going to go public via a SPAC.
Agreed, Ackman has a tough task. I sold half my psth when I was up ~20%. It’s run up too high for a pile of money, imo.
Better plays with other spacs imo.
Honestly I don't know how Ackman can deliver the upside that so many people are hoping for. Because he's going for a segment of private companies that can happily go the IPO/DPO route, unless Ackman really sweetens the deal.
The kind of perfection that Ackman wants - great cashflow, growth, COVID-proof - that doesn't come cheap at all. Hoping that such a company will double instantly in public markets is assuming they leave lots of cash on the table. I don't see how that can happen.
I bought PSTH when it first IPOd. Sold for a profit. Bought back just before the Stripe hype and sold when it went to $27. Agree with you - other SPACs are better plays
That was my thought process when I sold PSTH twice (as well selling the overpriced warrants).
Yeah I think it's for the best. The warrants are already pricing in a commons price of nearly $32 - that's fairly risky.
You mean ~60% above NAV is risky?!?!?!? /s
No one can predict how it will perform.
Holding SBE at a loss (Sold for profit and rebought), the merge with chargepoint happens on Tuesday. Was planning to get rid of it pre-merge even at a loss, but slowly being convinced to hold through the merge by youtube videos because I don't really know what I'm doing.
Is there anybody else holding through merge?
edit: apparently the merge isn't this Tuesday
Hold. Its going to $100.
Does it happen on Tuesday? I thought they extended it. Edit: It’s set to happen Q1 2021.
I didn't know that! Thanks for the update
I never hold through merger.
Is there a particular source that you guys follow for the latest SPAC merger news?
Some folks mentioned a few twitter accounts in prior posts but I can't seem to find them again.
just follow this sub ... but mostly, when reuters seem to break something, its always a good thing.
Getting GIK and GHIV tomorrow
Both seem good at current price. I expect GIK to gap up a bit. GHIV should continue its steady grind.
Loaded up on both. Let’s get that paper.
Good man, best of luck 🙏
GIK to the moon
This weekly thread is getting too massive to track anything. Any chance mods can change it to a daily thread?
Ok boomer. All you have to do is check it every 30 mins
i also think we need to move to a daily.
Or at least separate the weekday/weekend thread
Who else still have SRAC?
Me. Bought at $10.75 for a small position. Will most likely sell half when it hits $20. However, the stubborn side of me says I should keep it though, haha. I still see lots of potential for it...lol.
Alright alright alright ! What else you got ?
Sold my swing but keeping a longer term position
I had em in November.... definitely too rich now
Welp time to trim my position. Still believe in them though. You still got any ?
I’m holding until January at least. They have a launch some time that month. Could be huge in my opinion
Nope I sold before the pop. So it goes.
Not waiting for the pre merger hype?
Thoughts on OAC?
Better than that vspr garbage reddit folks seem to like
Evidence of that? Have you done dd on hydrafacial and hims? Or are you just bloviating opinion?
I'm interested. 11.89 is a still a good entry price. If it's flat or especially if it dips, I'll look into picking some up tomorrow.
Holding OAC long with $11 entry. Solid telehealth/delivery company with expanding services. Fills a necessary gap in our broken healthcare system with target of younger audience. Look at the investor deck.
I don't see JIH mentioned on here much anymore. They have been around enough that they are likely to be coming up on a target. Anyone looked at JIH recently?
They're on my radar. The problem is, I don't have a reason to trim APXT/BFT/FIII/GHIV/GIK right now. So the opportunity cost is too great with nothing concrete on the horizon. They're on my list to potentially grab, along with FUSE/GSAH/IPOE/IPOF/SNPR/SOAC. Maybe on the next mini SPAC crash.
Warrants have been on a tear lately
Why do you think JIH is a good choice? Can you elaborate?
Solid management and they have been around long enough that they must be closer to a target than all these new spacs that split in the last month. Still near NAV.
they've around for over a year with no target and are in the industrial sector. Doesn't sound to exciting
Anything that has been out over a year and still close to NaV with quality management is fucking sexy as hell. Boneriffic. Guaranteed lottery ticket!
What about GHIV ?
What about it
keeping considerable position in thcb and gik, but taking profits on monday, and shifting money to vspr, fuse, snpr, and thca
Not waiting for the DA on THCB ?
Hmmm ok yah makes sense. I’m thinking about getting out of SRAC and THCB too since I got them super close to NAV. isn’t APXT already kind of far from NAV though ?
APXT is one of the most solid mergers right now, actual revenue and growth, long term Microsoft partner
Would you still recommend THCB? Think they are going to get that DA after all?
Maybe but there are other better plays
Any suggestions to check out? Or just go all in on a p x t
I'm mostly in a p X .
Maybe buy call on r m g before its merger but it's more risky
I hear a problem with SPACs (ie VITQ / NKLA) is that sometimes there is an enormous amount of restricted shares that end up being later introduced into the float, thus diluting the share price. Do you know what percentage of the post merger shares the current APX shares are going to be / what sort of timeline there is for restricted shares to join the float? And if you are feeling generous, do you know how this works with traditional IPOs? I hear there is normally 20% restricted and 80% unrestricted shares with a traditional IPO, is this even true, and at what point does this 20% become unrestricted and start diluting the share price?
Ok. Willing to give out your PT on N G A short term? I would love to see above 25+ similar to other companies like it
Will you hold post merger?
Buy the dip lol
Gotcha. What’s your thoughts on LGVW? Still a good buy ?
Ah ok I have a small position in APXT rn, thanks for the insight.
Haven’t seen anything on SCVX here. Pretty solid leadership team with some good experience.
How can you take them seriously after you visit their website? It's like an early 2000's MySpace page.
Eh idk, I’m getting more of a “hacker, underground internet” kind of vibe. Definitely weird for a SPAC but I can see where they were going with it for the cyber security target.
Funny enough, I actually found it a plus. The design seemed intentional (whether you like it or not) instead of most boring corporate SPAC stuff. Definitely not for everyone but that’s fine. I’m not going to not invest in a SPAC because of website design lmao.
I picked up some relatively cheap warrants on this one. The team looks interesting.
Why is this getting downvoted, I’m a fan of scvx as well, fantastic management
Yeah idk with this sub anymore lmao.
Nga - too late to get in now for the pre mergrr spac pop? Reading the dd"s here it sounds like it'll be a good long term hold but have the biggest gains been with this now for the next few weeks?
It could dip or it could run like SBE. My vote is the chart will follow SBE like chart
yeah wait for a dip i got I got in at 14.7 on friday which i dont recommend for SPACS way too high but im willing to hold through if it goes to 12-13 since im condifent it will see amazing gains even if EV cools down it will heat up again and this will see an irrational SBE/DPHC type run to 30-40.
Dumb question but google wasn’t helping answer it: what does “DA” mean? Something announcement? Or “direct acquisition”?
Definitive Agreement. LOI is letter of intent, btw.
Thanks for both
best nav spacs?
I am so overleveraged in HCAC and BFT for tomorrow going to make so much tendies please send help
Agree with BFT.
people are going to be looking to lock gains, I dont think it's a true guarantee moon day
