I'm just grateful they won, because I can start watching again. They lost the last 5 games I watched prior to this one, and I was just about to put myself in a painful blackout for the greater good.
What a great weekend! The sweep was amazing! I'm in North Dakota and I enjoyed watching the series on MLB TV, hopefully the momentum sticks and the boys in Black N Orange keep it going.

For anyone concerned about Chris Taylor and his injury: pretty good news. It was a cut above his eye that bled a lot, but is not especially serious. He's expected to avoid the IL.
https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/dodgers\_chris\_taylor\_expected\_to\_avoid\_il\_after\_collision\_with\_wall/s1\_13132\_37583826
Yeah, this is at the human level. You want to beat the other team (esp the Dodgers) fair and square, and you don't want to see guys getting injured trying to play.
Max Muncy once punched Luis González in the balls
González winced (come on, that would hurt any man even the most perfect), but Muncy’s arm shattered. You do not punch pure steel.
(idk trying this combination bad Muncy/perfect González joke)
LMAO I did lurk and see that comment. No, not priapism haha. Ngl it did warm my heart hearing people wonder where I was. :) I know there was also some “LuGo did it for Thicc” and I was all 🥹🥹🥹
I got a Reddit time out for the infamous Brooklyn Nine Nine quote about Arlo “everyone in this room and then myself” about LuGo after the walkoff, if something ever happened to LuGo. Posted it in the baseball sub. Just got out of Reddit jail today. I could check the posts but not actually post. Made me kinda sad :( but it was for LuGo so worth it, but won’t do that again haha
It sorta worked out because I had to work this series anyway >_> have this side gig I can’t talk much about but it is awesome.
Max Muncy just steals from charity in general.
On the other hand, you know how nice a guy Lugo is?
The Nobel Academy has received an award from Luis González.
Trea Turners postgame comments really sum up why that team ain’t doing shit in the postseason. Saying your run doesn’t matter in a 2-0 game with a megastar line up? A run that would make it 2-1 and put even more pressure on the giants? Holy shit. Id be furious if a giant said that..
This is the fundamental problem with purchasing superstars to try and buy a World Series: *your players couldn't give a rat's ass about the team*. They're journeymen, only in it for the big cash. The Dodgers are not an actual team, just a ragtag collection of superstars, in it for themselves.
TV broadcast said the same thing about forgetting the number of outs.
Dodgers fans have absolutely turned on him more than anyone else I think. They don’t want him back next year.
Rodon back in form after a long losing streak is super encouraging. I'll be honest I didn't have any faith in him after his 5 losses. I'm glad I was proven wrong.
Fuck Julio Urías for striking out LuGo twice.
It’s okay LuGo, you got the hit off Kershaw yesterday and you’ll get back on track soon and hitting like you did in May while continuing to take those walks you’ve gotten good at
also baet la, baet la, and baet la
and I couldn’t watch either game (IN FAIRNESS, I couldn’t watch either Dodger game they lost either earlier so my absence didn’t help >_>)
Fair point, although the Phillies have been through something like six managers in ten years. In other words, the problem there is probably not the manager.
[Giants fans (Bart) vs Dodger fans (Lisa) after that series.](https://youtu.be/_yCNcRYp1rw)
What an incredibly satisfying victory and series, baseball is so hard to read sometimes. I didn’t expect a sweep but prior to game one I said I was confident the Giants would play up to the Dodgers.
I’m sad to say I missed almost all of this one save for checking on the score while busy at work.
I was happy to catch the postgame radio show on my way back from my daughter’s recital.
So cool to see Matt Cain again, I seriously miss that guy and am still sad his career didn’t last longer. That 21 scoreless ip in the postseason were epic as was his perfecto.
POTG: Rodón 🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇
So why did the Dodgers ask for a review of the play when their player crashed into the left field wall and it popped out of his glove. The ball was clearly on the ground. Under what theory could they have thought that was an out? Seriously asking, I am not baseball expert.
amazing game and series! Great weekend of baseball and counting down the days till my first McCovey Cove game with my sister on Wednesday! so excited, anyone have any tips for the Cove?
Being from Florida and never been, from what I've read bring an appetite for Crazy Crab and garlic fries! I'm hoping to make a trip there in late July.
Oh yeah def been to many games haha and those are a staple every time! Should have been more descriptive, going to McCovey Cove in a kayak with my sister so won't be going into the game, just hanging out kayaking around and listening to the game in the radio hoping for a splash hit!
Pisses me off that I can't figure out how to get the post game show in Florida. MLB TV always cuts out as soon as the game is over and I always see other games that they show the post game shows. Maybe a NBC Sports Bay area restriction.
Austin wynns caught the first shutout of the season as we all expected
Can’t believe they just swept the dodgers after looking lifeless during the Rockies series
Going into Oracle on Friday night I was afraid of witnessing a Dodger onslaught at my first ever Giants games, and feeling the wrath of my Dodger friends gloating beside me
Needless to say, I did not expect this after the Rockies series
I also called Ruf's first home run into left field that night, and my friends were shocked when that happened
I should probably go to Giants games more often now
Hands up everyone who earlier this season wanted one of the stars of today’s game (and the whole series) either sent down, traded, DFA’d, or released.
This is why your emotion-driven panic takes are so laughable. Ditto with crying about Farhan not bringing in any good talent. The Giants just swept the biggest payroll in baseball, and not one of you saw that coming.
This offense is shaky but defense and pitching have been stellar! Glad we got a full dose of Rodón today, Potg is Slater and all of the pitchers, especially McGee with the 9 pitch 9th!! FTD, take off your pants, and bring out the brooms 🧹🧹🧹
From the MLB.com post-game wrap:
>Rodón didn’t flirt with perfection on Sunday afternoon, but he still flashed his dominance, striking out eight over six shutout innings to help the Giants [beat the Dodgers, 2-0](https://www.mlb.com/gameday/662085/final/box), **and sweep their archrivals for the first time since 2016.**

The Giants saw Cain and the mound and promptly scored only two runs. Fortunately that was enough today. Rodon is a true ace and our bullpen is pretty solid
Don’t quote me because I’m not sure but I think very occasionally a manager/dugout will call for specific pitches. You can notice this by a catcher looking into the dugout before a pitch. But this look can be a lot of things (whether to walk a batter, how to handle stolen bases), and is rarely about individual pithes. Case in point Posey was the master at calling games behind the plate. Like Posey calling Matt Cain’s Perfect Game, calling Timmy’s two no hitters, and catching three World Series Championships.
Can you believe that after the 5-game losing streaks and some terrible losses against not so good teams, we are still only 3.5 games back? NL West standings are getting spicy again!

Incredible.
One thing I've always loved about this team, about this rivalry, is that no matter how badly San Francisco are playing, no matter how incredibly stacked Dodgers' line-up is and how far in first place they are, Giants always somehow muster up their best and keep the series competitive, they're never one-sided.
Except when we sweep the Dodgers. Hahahhaaha, FTD
Oh, fuck, I need that tiki shirt. Cole, if/when you see this—you had to have bought that shirt. Where?!
EDIT: never mind, *Found it.* I will be ordering this.
https://www.lids.com/mlb-san-francisco-giants/san-francisco-giants-tiki-button-up-shirt-orange/o-3487+t-25458883+p-14514367077+z-9-985855448
Thanks, Cole—I did a little hunting and found it at Lids, still for sale. I am seriously gonna get that shirt; it's very GenX (and heck, Millennial, too, why not). Thx for bringing it to our attention, seriously!
I'm hoping he just cut his nose and didn't break it? That seemed to be the case, but wow he went into the wall hard.
I saw Joc Pederson do something similar when he was a dodger at a game, but he turned out okay. It looked bad, but he was back in a few days
It was pretty hard to tell exactly what happened. Some think it was his eyebrow that was bleeding—hope so, better than an eye injury. I'm sure we'll know more later on today.
One thing I know is that cuts to the face and scalp can bleed excessively even when they're not bad cuts. I am hoping that's the case here, that his glasses maybe cut into an eyebrow or something else and that it bled a lot, but isn't actually bad.
your work in the WWE? that was a tactic they would poke their forehead with a razorblade to make it look like they were more hurt. I'm hoping that was just the case his glasses broke on the collision and cut him just above the right eyebrow. If that's the case great, he'll be back in a few days. No fan want's to see anybody get hurt out there.
The reports are that the injury *was* a cut above his eye (and not the eye itself, thank god). He's not even going to be on the IL, they don't think. In other words, it's what you suspected, and it's really the best case scenario.
https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/dodgers\_chris\_taylor\_expected\_to\_avoid\_il\_after\_collision\_with\_wall/s1\_13132\_37583826
Glad to be the bearer of *good* news and not bad. That could have been really ugly; crisis averted. I'd really hate to see Taylor seriously injured—as much as we Giants fans all hate him, of course. 😏
I like to say: this is baseball. It's not war.
Honestly, I truly can't explain how good it fells to sweep the dodgers.
Like regardless of what else we've done this past couple weeks, at least we SWEPT the dodgers! Yes! 😁⚾😊
A perfect weekend in the Bay. Warriors win game 4, Giants sweep that team from LA. Let’s hope for a championship celebration on the giants off day on Thursday and another sweep of the royals.
Honestly, a huge sweep for this team. Only 3.5 back! We’re right in this. We have winnable games coming up, we have a chance to gain even more ground and we have to do it.
POTG: Slater for that defensive inning
My dad got 2 free tickets to this game and I couldn't go because some friends were coming from out of town, and now they can't hang out until later tonight. If I also missed out on an E-40 bobblehead I'm not sure I can handle it
POTG: Rodón and the pen. First shutout of the year comes against the Dodgers to complete the sweep.
Honorable mention: Chris Taylor. Dude sold out and paid for it. Mad respect. Hope he’s ok.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go watch Cain’s perfecto.
#SFGameUp
Cain- "Pitchers don't get to hit anymore." not true, luis gonzalez has a few knocks including a homer
The Bible was originally called “Luis González and Friends”. Source: literally me, I was in The Bible.
WOOOOOO GIANTS STAY SWANGIN
For anyone concerned about Chris Taylor and his injury: pretty good news. It was a cut above his eye that bled a lot, but is not especially serious. Good. Hate seeing guys go all out and have to pay for it too much, Dodger or not.
Yeah, this is at the human level. You want to beat the other team (esp the Dodgers) fair and square, and you don't want to see guys getting injured trying to play.
I SOLD ALL MY PANTS
As well you should.
And that's how you go from 6.5 back to 3.5 back over the course of a weekend.
Buehler, kersh, and Urias. Sweep. And we only used 1 real starting pitcher lol
not here for any Junebug slander
Go Stanford!!!
It’s the middle of June and still no orange jerseys in stock. Hopefully they have them ready for the postseason
Sweep pants off
This series has me wondering how that first LA series could have gone if we had even one or two more guys healthy.
Captain obvious here but need to sweep the dog shit royals and take this momentum.
Max Muncy once punched Luis González in the balls González winced (come on, that would hurt any man even the most perfect), but Muncy’s arm shattered. You do not punch pure steel. (idk trying this combination bad Muncy/perfect González joke)
Where were you this series??!?! I was worried you had a Gonzalez induced priapism and were in the hospital!
LMAO I did lurk and see that comment. No, not priapism haha. Ngl it did warm my heart hearing people wonder where I was. :) I know there was also some “LuGo did it for Thicc” and I was all 🥹🥹🥹 I got a Reddit time out for the infamous Brooklyn Nine Nine quote about Arlo “everyone in this room and then myself” about LuGo after the walkoff, if something ever happened to LuGo. Luis Gonzalez donated a car to Kars4Kids. Max Muncy stole it.
General fact: Max Muncy steals from Kars4Kids. (Is that a bad thing, though? Kars4Kids is the "charity" from hell.)
Max Muncy just steals from charity in general. On the other hand, you know how nice a guy Lugo is? The Nobel Academy has received an award from Luis González.
That’s Kars with K to be Qonfusing with a Q!

Luis González then found Max Muncy and defeated him easily, got the car right back.
Imagine having a $300m payroll to score 0 runs

Quick, someone hack the Dodger page on Wikipedia. Or the Urias page. Or the Dave Roberts page.
Rock hard. FTD!!! 🧹🧹🧹
Of course we only score 2 on the day Cain throws a pitch
Better than allowing two and scoring none!

Especially egregious when the radio broadcast said he appeared to forget how many outs there were.
TV broadcast said the same thing about forgetting the number of outs. Dodgers fans have absolutely turned on him more than anyone else I think. They don’t want him back next year.
Yeah their boards have essentially accepted him better than gone.
I love Giants baseball. That’s all.

Lol have they seen how the Phillies are doing?
Fair point, although the Phillies have been through something like six managers in ten years. In other words, the problem there is probably not the manager.

Also maybe Bart was never good at calling pitches
I *do* think Wynns is showing that he's good at calling games.

Just got banned on r/Dodgers for saying that the manager should have worried about the injured player instead of challenging the play everyone at the stadium and on tv could clearly see the ball hit the wall. what a douche bag subreddit
I am so not surprised.

You have better things to do than soil yourself with Dodger fan muck, anyway.
Nothing gives me more joy than to see that artificially stacked team getting swept.
The Dodgers: BOUGHT, NOT BUILT
POTG: Slater with that sweet, sweet D.... (and HR)
Incredible. One thing I've always loved about this team, about this rivalry, is that no matter how badly San Francisco are playing, no matter how incredibly stacked Dodgers' line-up is and how far in first place they are, Giants always somehow muster up their best and keep the series competitive, they're never one-sided. Walis
Dodger fan being bitter, you assholes. But Rodon was insane today, and the D having great leather. I sadly tip my hat. You've won, this time...
Actually our defense really sucks. They just don't like u guys
lol fooled me, stole tons of hits today.
Best part of the summer. Cheers until the next series.
In all seriousness, nothing but compassion for Taylor from us. That collision looked bad and we all hope that he's OK.
I'm hoping he just cut his nose and didn't break it? That seemed to be the case, but wow he went into the wall hard. I saw Joc Pederson do something similar when he was a dodger at a game, but he turned out okay. It looked bad, but he was back in a few days

I was thinking that it was a cut from his sunglasses when he hit the wall.
One thing I know is that cuts to the face and scalp can bleed excessively even when they're not bad cuts. I am hoping that's the case here, that his glasses maybe cut into an eyebrow or something else and that it bled a lot, but isn't actually bad.

phew thanks for delivering the good news, that's what I hoped it would be.
Glad to be the bearer of *good* news and not bad. That could have been really ugly; crisis averted. I'd really hate to see Taylor seriously injured—as much as we Giants fans all hate him, of course. 😏 I like to say: this is baseball. It's not war.
Bad team that can only beat good teams lol
Will Smith was fucking robbed of a double at least lol Slater was such a fucking beast today.
How can it be a robbery if Slayer almost overran the ball?
HAS ANYONE SEEN MY PANTS!?!?!
The radar on my car spotted them at 35,000 ft. Heading NNW at 300 kts.
we can’t beat the rocks for the life of us then we sweep the bums. It doesn’t get more giants
Imagine driving 8 hours from LA and spending thousands on hotel, tickets, food, etc. just to watch your team get swept.
Imagine only staying at the games until the fifth inning all three days
LA fans helped boost the local economy and got to see their team get sweeped, great outcome.
It was a good weekend
Easiest schedule in baseball for the rest of the month, this is the best possible time to get hot.
I fucking called it. Now the dodgers are hurt and padres still don’t have tatis. It is a perfect time to steal first before the break
Who is going to pay for the damage to the car?

Honestly, I truly can't explain how good it fells to sweep the dodgers. Like regardless of what else we've done this past couple weeks, at least we SWEPT the dodgers! Yes! 😁⚾😊
A perfect weekend in the Bay. Warriors win game 4, Giants sweep that team from LA. Let’s hope for a championship celebration on the giants off day on Thursday and another sweep of the royals.
Baseball is fun again! Boy that was fast.
Was that a sweep?? It certainly felt like a sweep
Beautiful sweep at home, I love to see it! Everyone played great this series.
I kinda wanted one close play that Roberts couldn't challenge in the 9th just for that little extra slap in the face.
The umpires can initiate reviews on their own in the 8th and 9th which they probably would on a crucial play.
Beat LA!!! Swept LA!!! Fuck the Dodgers.
Smokin on that Dodger and Pantone pack

Honestly, a huge sweep for this team. Only 3.5 back! We’re right in this. We have winnable games coming up, we have a chance to gain even more ground and we have to do it. POTG: Slater for that defensive inning
I'm definitely gonna have to call my Dr, because this erection is going to last more than 6 hours
Max muncy once wrote a strongly worded letter when his box of Twinkies only had 5 inside when there was supposed to be 6
I might believe he dictated such a letter; I am skeptical that he is capable of writing one.
This is all because of the E-40 bobblehead.
Today was Matt Cain bobblehead my guy
I thought the E-40 bobblehead was the 25th against the Reds
The announcement and proceeding excitement **drove** this win.
Ok I was worried I missed it. I NEED that bobblehead
My dad got 2 free tickets to this game and I couldn't go because some friends were coming from out of town, and now they can't hang out until later tonight. If I also missed out on an E-40 bobblehead I'm not sure I can handle it
E-40 Bobblehead Night is Saturday, June 25 against the Reds
Wait what
That's right homie!
The fact we were unable to sweep the Dodgers but we were this year...
GRAB THE BROOMS
🧹🧹🧹 Beat LA
Fuck the D*dgers but damn, what an effort by Taylor in the 8th. Also, Rodon hit 100 in consecutive fastballs, fuckin nuts. SWEEP!
"In San Francisco, the sex is dirty and the air is clean. In LA, the air is dirty and the sex is clean." ~ David Manning Sweep sweep sweep!! 🧹🧹🧹
But where can I go for clean sex and clean air? San Diego?
I know where you go for dirty air and dirty sex…
Nobody goes to Sandy Eggo
Run support very much like Cain. POTG Slater. Saved it on a deep catch in Right center, and the solo shot.
Sweeping the Dodgers after losing the series to the Road Rockies, doesn't get anymore Giant. PotG: Rodon and the Bullpen
How sweep it is. 😁
BRING OUT THE BROOM
POTG: All the pitchers for clutching the fuck up. They just shut out the Dodgers! FUCK URIAS AND FUCK THE DODGERS! Edit: can’t forget about Slater!
Nice!
just a bad team that sweep the dodgers
What a satisfying weekend. Fuck yea
And here I was coming into this series just hoping for no sweep. Ended up getting the best kind of sweep. Home sweep against the doyers!!!
