SCP-CN-001 Darkequation's Proposal and Abnormality Institute Declassified
By - darkequation
I was actually planning to declass this, but nothing beats a declass from its original author. Great declass!
Actually it's your declass of another CN-001 proposal that inspired me to do mine.
That's really cool to know! Lets hope we will start seeing more chinese scp declasses here soon :D
Hmm... It just occurred to me that they sound like the same SCP. Something that either predicts or creates SCPs in a text form. :p
Except this one is specific to just SCP files, not the actions of the Foundation.
This was an awesome declass- I've always loved Chinese history, I find it incredibly interesting (if not quite gruesome at times) and articles that properly integrate the history of the country into the lore are always super cool.
If you don't mind me asking, how hard is it to translate classic Chinese to English? I know the script tends to have very literal meanings (which is why right-clicking "Translate to English" on the actual page just puts out a string of nonsense) but since you're the author, how do you determine what the actual context is of the words? Is it just contextual, like kanji?
In my case, I actually wrote it down in modern Chinese, then translate it into classic Chinese. When I was doing this declass, I dug out the original draft and translate it into English.
I think most of the classic Chinese to English translations are actually done via modern Chinese as intermediate, meaning you'll have to be fluent in all 3 languages.
(sorry for the delay)
Nice reference. You're giving me Chinese History flashbacks.
But seriously, how people manage to write in fluent Classical Chinese is beyond me, never mind translating it into English in a way that makes sense. Brilliant job!
Somehow the mobile thumbnail is my personal file picture: Sad Keanu surrounded by cats, this is hilarious!
There's no picture in proposal though, so I guess this will do :)
This is cool! Admittedly, I'm not too familiar with most international stuff, but your work are appreciated regardless!
So wait, are you the original author who came up with the Abnormality Institute?
How come none of that stuff has been translated to English?
Honestly I'm not sure.
I assume you are to focused on other things to do translations, despite the fact you seem to be fluent in both associated languages.
Personally I have stopped writing for almost a decade, it's a complicated mess of anxiety, academy, application, army and Azeroth.
Others I'm not sure.
It frustrates me seeing what you created, and the ideas that fallowed it, remain unknown to the west due to lack of translation. I understand that you are not willing to do these things, but I think someone else should.
At least I've recently translated the [Abnormality Institute](http://scp-int.wikidot.com/yixuehuihub) hub onto INT.
Also on a side note I think it'd be great if DarkEquation could compile the translation sections into one article and post it on INT.
We can only hope.
What a inspiring season. It looks like we all have more free times on hands because of...... circumstances.
I see there's some translation differences (bamboo scroll, grand commandant codename) but everything else is great, I'm applying for INT membership right now, hope I can post the proposal soon.
Wish you all the best over there.
Ok i didn't know it's just a tap of button......
Where the hell are your upvotes?
