Too far away from a wall to support the roof. Build a pillar there

OneOfManyParadoxFans

Build two for symmetry.

VvCheesy_MicrowavevV

Personally I'd build 2 walls instead. 1) Cheaper than a a pillar. 2) 2 pillars next to each other in the middle of a room looks weird. 3) It just looks better.

OneOfManyParadoxFans

To quote Obi Wan, "You are lost!"

Bits_and_Bytes_

but then it wouldnt be space efficient

Jibriyl

Doesn't matter, symmetry is more important.

LunaBluelight

100% this

Independent_Ad4195

Build 2 doors

Professional-Put-804

Came to say this

WarmMoistLeather

As the others said you need a pillar. You can only build roofs six tiles away from support.

im3ns3

Oh, thanks. I only got the game recently, didn't know that

ifnord

And be careful not to remove the pillar later, it would cause a roof cave in. You will forget this advice and suffer colonist deaths, especially when digging into mountain sides.

redrenz123

yep, dying from a mountain cave-in is probably the worst as there is nothing left to resurrect with the serum

corropcion

It's not a real cave in, they go to the backrooms.

Venusgate

Six tiles is your limit, even diagonally

Cweeperz

Unrelated, but keep stone chunks out of there. Chunks don't deteriorate outside of storage, and they slow colonists down, and they decrease beauty

[deleted]

But you need stone chunks to cut up to make stone. If you don't have any stored in your base, colonists would start making uncontrolled trips OUTSIDE to get them. That's...bad.

Blakowitsch

He means you should have a stockpile outside next to your base where you can store stone chunks instead of wasting the interior storage space on them

VvCheesy_MicrowavevV

I just make a dumping stockpile zone outside my crafting room sometimes I also enable steel on it along with stone blocks since they don't deteriorate outside.

UntouchedWagons

Two side notes: that one cooler is not enough to refrigerate that room and two your pawns are unable to build flooring under the paste dispenser there so you can remove those blueprints.

DankerKitty

Not enough support for a ceiling, try putting a pillar in the middle

YeetMeister146

Storage rooms bigger then 12x12 need supports, 12x12 is the max width x length you can make a room before you start needing supportive columns for the ceiling, your room is bigger then 12x12 thus the roof cannot hold, just pop down a column in the center and you will be good to go.
