On Today's episode of "Please for the Love of God Send Help to Florida", I present to you this meme

Does Ivermectin really come packaged like that?
Yup, that's an actual screenshot of one of the brands.
Wow, apple flavored paste. I honestly thought the "eating horse paste" was an exaggeration, but wow. Here we are.
Look what just virtually wiped out the virus in India’s most populous state…[ivermectin wipes out Covid in Uttar Predesh](https://www.thedesertreview.com/opinion/columnists/indias-ivermectin-blackout---part-v-the-secret-revealed/article_9a37d9a8-1fb2-11ec-a94b-47343582647b.html)
The horse one yes. The human one no. People eat the horse paste because they can’t get a prescription for the human one lmao.
Not sure that's what I found on google lol
It absolutely is. I used that exact one for my actual horse

Moved here in July for the weather! Can't say I disagree :/
Florida has shown they don't want our help. Unless it's that sweet sweet federal emergency money
Florida isn’t a monolith, it’s a fairly purple state which the GOP has an disproportionate hold over. If so many northern retirees would stop moving here, our elections would likely look quite different.
It’s heavily gerrymandered at every level. That’s the reason the government is so red, but the state mostly isn’t.
Texas too. It’s by design.
YOU MEAN, REPUBLICANS ACTIVELY TAMPER WITH THE EXISTING DEMOCRACY TO GET AN EDGE
OVER THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!?
Color me shocked.
It's almost... unamerican. OH, NO WONDER WHY THEY HATE THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT, BECAUSE IT'S THE RESULT OF ACTUAL AMERICAN VALUES, NOT KWISTIAN ONES UWU
I'm no centrist, but both parties do. They have to now, and so they're both stuck redrawing and redrawing again, and they're both responsible for the out of control Frankenstein it has become. Idc who started it, I just want them to stop or start over and have some kind of strict guidelines they need to adhere to.
"Both parties do" is just a line to avoid the discussion of which party relies entirely on it, and which party is just hedging their bets in a broken game. We cannot just changr the subject every single time the GOP is criticized
Eldridge Gerry started it. That’s why it's calked “gerrymandering”
Downvoted for giving the factual origin of the word “gerrymander”? This historical factoid actually triggered someone? 🤣🤣
Take your downvotes like a goddamn adult, you snowflake.
Everybody takes their downvotes, dingus. I just think it’s funny how triggered ppl get over stuff like history facts, which seem pretty easy to objectively verify. I get why ppl downvote opinions, but facts are facts.
Downvoting facts you don’t like is just Qultish.
Not sure why you are being downvoted, but the two parties in charge are 100% at fault. Just look at how the left treats Bernie and the right tries to play the libertarian role. They might play up those values to get the votes but they do not do 1/10th of what they claim. Center left and center right two sides of the same coin.
Arizona recently had its first independent commission do its districting. There's hope.
That's been solved. No more bizarro wrap-around Phoenix districts.
The shitty thing is my grandparents "live there" but only long enough to claim residency. They spend most of their time in Pennsylvania, but vote in Florida. They help form the politics in Florida while not even being there.
This is why mail in voting is so popular with the Florida GOP. If you remember even Trump touted that Florida mail in voting was fine while he bitched about other states doing it. Without all these snowbird voters, Florida politics would look a lot different.
This is true for Arizona as well, well the snowbirds effecting state politics part
That's a symptom of the larger problem I think about boomers refusing to relinquish control in America to be clear.
> They spend most of their time in Pennsylvania,
If they are doing that and claiming residence in FL for the income tax break, they could get in trouble with the 183-day rule.
then good on FL for being so retiree-friendly in terms of taxation. other states could receive a similar influx if they were as friendly to retirees.
They pay low taxes in Florida while using the infrastructure provided by higher taxes in PA. That's being a freeloader.
ah yes, such freeloaders working within the boundaries of the system to keep more of their own earned money rather than give it up to states such as PA with foolishly unattractive tax rates.
Nothing is systemic, unless the system can be used in defense of greed: the Libertarian mantra.
>ah yes, such freeloaders working within the boundaries of the system to keep more of their own earned money rather than give it up to states such as PA with foolishly unattractive tax rates.
Yep, absolute freeloaders. You described that sort well, the sort who are so entitled as to believe everyone else should pay their way so they themselves don't have to. This type usually rages against social safety nets and fail to see the irony.
Here's the thing, no one actually wants to live in a libertarian hellscape. Taxes are good. That's how we build a society worth living in. You'll see that states with the highest population density also have some of the highest tax rates. There's actually a reason for that.
There’s no reaching people like joedl1. Decades of empirical economic data isn’t enough to sway their opinions because they’ve been feed lies that progressive taxation is their boogie man aka communism.
True that.. also, love your username. Was a great station in the day.
It's wrong when billionaires do it with secret tax havens, and it's wrong when thousandaires do it too.
We don't know if they are "working within the boundaries of the system" because by law they need to spend at least 183 days out of the year in FL in regards to claiming residency for tax purposes and OP said they "spend ***most*** of their time in PA". If they are spending any less than 183 days out of the year in FL then they are indeed committing fraud. They are supposed to be "spending most of their time" in FL if they want to be legal.
OP said they live there "long enough to claim residency" but then said most of their year is spent in PA so that's contradictory because to be a legal resident for tax purposes they need to spend "most" of their time in FL.
Oh no watch out guys he said "earn" that means if you propose any system that actually works you're a bad person lmao
"Yea, why pay your fair share shen you can be a greedy fuck and let *others* pay. As long as *I* don't have to pay, who cares!"
precisely. and since you’re so infatuated with simping for the state, i’ll also let you pay my taxes if you ask nicely😁
If we all did that we'd be as shitty as Florida, and then who will you freeloaders mooch off of?
the irony is that people with the resources to move to low-tax states in retirement purely for tax benefits probably have made more (and therefore have paid more taxes on due to the highly progressive taxation in the US) than your ilk ever will.
but please, continue to cry from your keyboard and call them moochers.
Texas is also more purple than its reputation presents it, with massive disproportional political representation. This is the fucking [gerrymandered district I live in](https://media.npr.org/assets/img/2017/03/11/texas-35-25810048abae74e2926130ee177bb5dfd1859e54.png)
Yee [voice breaks]...haw
That is one of the most disgusting districts I've ever seen.
I think they call them "fajita strips" in Texas blogs. Then they have the ones like Rep. Crenshaw's that are even more malformed.
How they proposed that districting with a straight face is beyond me.
Same for NC. Just because we're gerrymandered as hell.
Same with Texas too. The GOP’s only real policy seems to be ensuring that they have an outsized influence on the government.
They have an outside influence on government because spineless Democrats keep appeasing them and caving in to them
The DNC is certainly far from perfect but gerrymandering in these states is a much more systemic issue than just to simply say “BOO DEMS!”
Oh, then maybe show me some evidence of what Democrats are doing to combat it or fight it or even work around it
I looked and found fuck all.
> Oh, then maybe show me some evidence of what Democrats are doing to combat it or fight it or even work around it
[The DNC has been pushing federal legislation which would put districting into the hands of an independent body for a few years now](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/03/03/whats-in-for-the-people-act-election-reform-legislation/6891622002/), so I’m not entirely sure where you’ve looked, but I don’t think you looked very much at all because this was hard to miss.
This is the bill they can’t pass, the one that needs 60 votes.
Which 10 Republicans are the DNC currently trying to engage to push this through? And what is their Plan B when none come to the table? Usually, its just to give up and be like “Welp, the Republicans said no 🤷♀️“
I’d love to hear about it if the Democrats actually have a Plan B for this.
You asked for evidence that the DNC was doing a thing, I provided evidence that they are doing that thing, and now you’re claiming that’s not enough. They cannot control how the GOP votes, so holding it against them seems silly, and frankly it comes off like you’re less interested in being accurate than you are in being “right”.
If you want more evidence of the DNC combating gerrymandering, take a look at every state which has already enacted independent committees to decide district lines, you’ll find that they were enacted by Democrats at the state level. You’re simply wrong here, full stop.
The vast majority of Floridians when surveyed always pick progressive policies then go on to vote against their very own desires.
That’s not really true. Look at the recent Constitutional amendments we voted for like legalized marijuana and reinstating voting rights for ex-felons, the problem is the state legislature is so fucked by gerrymandering that they don’t even enact those policies when we vote them in.
Sounds like you need to fight harder then.
What’s the alternative? Just keep complaining that it’s not fair?
Did you catch the news the other day that the governor of Alabama plans to use federal covid relief funds to build a prison? 🤦♂️
[actually they at least don’t want our money now](https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/575620-department-of-education-florida-missed-deadline-for-23b-in-federal-aid)
Actually we haven’t taken federal aid for education via COVID grants. I don’t like it here
This is like claiming in 2016 the whole US liked Trump or something. Florida is purple
> sweet sweet federal emergency money
You mean the "high school sports supplement"?
The biggest prick in Florida is the one they elected governor. DeSantis needs to be bitchslapped into oblivion.
The intense pride I feel as a Californian must be the equivalent of the shame self-aware Floridians feel.
Bold of you to presume Florida man feels shame
Shame makes Floridaman erect
If you think California is a sense of pride, you are also part of the problem.
California is a place not a feeling. Living in the state does in fact fill many of its residents with a sense of pride, however. Especially so when compared to others by most metrics.
You should definitely stay away though; it's far too terrible here for the likes of you, what with our vibrant economy, tolerance, progressive policies, incredible weather, technological and media dominance, natural beauty from almost every biome...
I mean we'd welcome you and you'd probably have a better quality of life here, but I'm sure you'd hate it given what you've already convinced yourself of regarding the state.
yes, but taxes! /s
I lived there for 3 years. It has nice weather but that's about all I can say for it. San Fran is by far one of the worst cities I've been to as far as cleanliness and people. I've never met people more out of touch with reality and so fake. But I'm glad you like that stuff. Please feel free to pay more for a lesser human experience. Good luck friend
This is giving very much “hating from outside the club when you can’t even get in”
We have a chopper inbound to your location OP.
ETA is three hours.
Can you hold them off that long?
Gonna need to get a killstreak of 15 before we can get that chopper inbound.
15?? Last I remember it was 7
Real life doesn't reflect video games
When I was a child, I didn't want to wear sunblock, but my family held me down and put it on me while I kicked and screamed. If people want to act like I did as a child, they should get treated the same way. Stop respecting anti-vaxxers and fight the pandemic without their permission.
Isn't this mocking the dumbasses who won't get vaccinated? Did you make this meme or did it come from a Q source?
Yes its mocking them I made it lol
Ah ok, I was confused.
Canadian here. What happened
The only good thing about florida is that it will be submerged under the Atlantic soon.
My tired eye thought that horse was Jar Jar Binks
Haha, 5G go brrrr.
Can someone explain to a european why is Florida a meme? I've seen countless examples of it. Serious question.
The governor of Florida literally bans mask and vaccine mandates, crazy dude.
Also Florida has laws that make police records the day of arrest so there's a lot of public stories that come out about the "Florida man" doing crazy stuff
So it's a combination of TV exposure of crimes and crazy shit + a state that would pick an anti science wacko?
Yup! can definitely confirm Just moved to florida
