Yeah this is not the jam, you as the host should always and forever reserve the right to kick people from your lobbies, even during a game. This is how it's always been and there's never been an issue, I'd wager to say vote kicking is an even better system though, but either works for me. With this change, I really don't even wanna play. I won't entertain the thought of being punished for something I didn't do.

I do see how it could be super annoying if you're just trying to complete the hunt and randoms are messing around relentlessly, but for me this is almost as much of an integral part of the game as the ghost hunting itself. If people want super serious no messing around only hunt the ghosts mode, I feel like nothing stops people from getting three other people who are extremely serious about this and running with them, or just being really strict and policing their own lobby. Why was this decision literally forced upon everyone in the community?

Interesting. I also play with a pre-made group but we’ve never really thought to mess with each other by spamming equipment items. Tbh this patch note is the first time I’d ever heard it was a thing.

Blumhouse1020

I’m okay with this change. I hate that people could mess with shit and troll.

GaysWithaZ

Ranked serious mode only phasmophobia when?

You can still turn flashlights on and off with T as long as it's in your inventory. I don't see what the problem is here. How often are you going to turn something on during a hunt if it's on the ground? I also want the ability to boot players, but I don't think voting is the way to go. The host should have total control of the lobby. Besides, you'd be helpless if you have at least two trolls in your lobby.

I frequently turn the spirit box off when it's sitting on the floor making constant SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH noises, not to troll, but when we no longer need it or are certain it's not a piece of evidence. Now if I'm already holding three things and want to turn the spirit box off, I have to drop an item I'm holding, pick up the spirit box, turn it off, drop it back on the floor, and go back and pick up the original thing I was holding. So if anything we've sacrificed quality of life slightly for *everyone* when for *some people/groups* this was never ***ever*** an issue. I think the fact that this change is willing to be made at all can be a quick step in the complete wrong direction. People are trolling by turning stuff off so we took out the ability to do so. People are trolling by turning off the lights so we took out the ability to do so. People were trolling by shutting/opening the door on each other so we took out the ability to do so. For me this is just one step in the wrong direction that could easily just make this entire game completely unfun, serious mode only, and boring. If people want to be super omega serious ghost hunters, why can they not just be in charge of their own lobby and enforce their own rules to do so. Why does everyone have to be forced into playing this way, especially when for some of us that was never what the game was about to begin with.

I just thought about this, but I really miss having the ability to drop an item and turn it on during a hunt to tell if the ghost is close without giving up your location. That could really matter if you're up against something like a myling. Wow, now I'm annoyed by the update. I'm gonna lose my mind. I'm actually convinced giving the lobby host control of kicking players midgame would be better than constantly changing game mechanics to try to cut down on trolling. Trolls are always gonna find a way to annoy you, and the best way to deal with them is having the ability to kick them whenever. People were trolling by turning off lights? Can't you still do that?

shokasaki

The only annoyance here is that you can't turn it off on the floor if it was held by someone else previously. At least for me. I can see how messing with your friends can be fun, and I do it too, but never like that. Lol
