Woody gives an update on the motel WiFi

JustMax22

That's about equal to my shitty internet in the uk

Welfarebear69

I would’ve thought Internet in the UK would be better since it’s such a small place

AANino23

US average is $60 and UK average is $35 US average speed is 33 and UK average is 27 UK gives you more for your money

Welfarebear69

Yeah I pay $50 so that’s not too bad. I wonder what the average would be if you only included big cities?

BleuSageGaming

Its an island, and corps get away with even bloodier highway robbery there than in u.s.

BleuSageGaming

Talking about that "event" like it was a genuine competition, lmao. Theres a reason they slapped a no bet exhibition title on it, they knew it was a farce... And 31? Geez i have the cheapest available in middle of nowhere and i get 50... makes me not feel so bad about mine lol

realMartianJesus

Middle of nowhere my ass I get 2. Starling is my only hope but it's a little to early for me now.

BleuSageGaming

Assume you meant starlink and yeah swallow that hope, after all elons bs about making it free or low cost in rural areas, it turns out that now thats its not just a talking point after hundreds of millions in subsidies from the govt, it costs at least twice a month what "standard" options do, PLUS you have to pay like $500 out of pocket up front for the user end equipment. TL;DR: Elon Musk lied through his bleached teeth. (And i do live in middle of nowhere, my nearest town with a walmart is like 10 miles away)

converter-bot

10 miles is 16.09 km

realMartianJesus

Yes starlink my phone autocorrected. Yes I anticipate to pay for it but not right now. One of my neighbors has it and gets 50-100. It's a wide range yes but it's the best option for me. 10 miles pshhh

A_Reddit_Account96

That is very much not the middle of nowhere thats basically a suburb lol

BleuSageGaming

10 miles from a 2 store town is "basically a suburb"!? Ok kid thx for your input..

Welfarebear69

Yeah I live in a semi rural area in a flyover state and I get like 70. 30 is still better than most places like 10 years ago ig

BleuSageGaming

I mean you have a point but usually a motel has at least a mid tier business trunk line, maybe its busy where he chose to stay idk

Welfarebear69

Seems like kind of a burden for him to keep doing the show while he’s on the trip. I’m not even saying that as a “fuck woody” thing, but he could take a couple weeks off. Even only doing a show when he has good wifi

BleuSageGaming

Yeah, agreed he should just be able to enjoy his adventure. Im not even part of the large anti-woody crew i was merely expressing my genuine surprise that his connection was so shoddy from that type of access point, especially with how much they charge a night nowadays.

_Reporting

Rural Tennessee here and I got gigabit about two months ago. Not really a noticeable difference over my 100 mbps I had before but will be nice in the future when it’s more useful.

bumass666

I just lived in a hotel for a month and I got 3. Not a typo, it actually had 3 up and down

Moist_BigMac

Better than my wifi
