Because selfish older lonely women can get children. I don’t think this is a solution at all, most children raised by single mothers grow up with issues, imagine those who had only one selfish parent by design. Those children will grow up and create other societal issues, probably damaging natalism as well. ​ The only healthy way to promote natalism is through an Healthy family.

IVF is a band-aid solution for a much larger problem. But it is a solution. So I am happy about it. It also tends to be quite eugenic I think, if you care for that sort of thing.

Not nearly in the way that IVF is. Some forms of dating might effectively commodify dating partners (looking at you, Tinder), but IVF commodifies babies.

IVF is a terrible solution because it's not actually eugenic, it's dysgenic. You put natural selection of the species into the hands of scientists who can't even begin to enact the selection pressures evolution does. Basically you create a preponderance of bad genetics being passed on from ppl who should by not metric be conceiving to children who by and large shouldn't exist. This is all without saying that IVF also results in more aborted embryos than a conventional abortion would. It's morally repugnant.
